My favorite thing about this terrible list is that if you go look at the results you'll see that Metal Gear Solid is also tied for slot 82 but that they just picked the first 100 games on the list and so left it out even though it should be there despite that making the total 101 games.

Tetris is a fricking incredible game. It is exquisitely simple so that it can be understood by people of all ages and experience levels. It has a smooth as butter difficulty curve so that virtually every player will eventually feel overwhelmed by what's happening but still be able to learn and improve. It has great potential for competitive play if that's what you're into, but it's ideal for playing against yourself if you don't want the additional pressure.
Tetris isn't the world's best video game because of course there is so much more you can do with the medium but goddamn. If there were such things as Platonic ideals, Tetris would be as close to the ideal of video games as anything real could be.

Opening up the board to 6th gen Gankertards was a mistake. I am curious how a list like this would look before the merge.

Final fantasy is crap, gitaroo man? No stupid, missing tons of genesis games, missing tons of nes games, Zelda is overrated and boring other than it having a cool name, banjo kazooie is trash

Its a decent list. Lots of my favorites are there but its certainly nowhere near 1 for 1. Some things that stood out:

i dont like deus ex at all and honestly even if you're a fan of it its just not polished enough to be the best game ever. there are clear technical problems with it and the level design is inconsistent in quality
