I've read both the fan TL and the official. I don't think there are many major differences so it doesn't matter too much. All the sequels are fan translated and are fine. Majikoi is very long though but I would still recommend giving it a shot and seeing if you like it.
But the Kyou route is the best pre after story route. It reminds me of high school life because what happened to Kyou, Ryou, and Tomoya actually happened there, lol

Yeah, her. Overall Clannad routes were all very boring. The only memorable events in Clannad are in the common route, like the laser tag game.
Meanwhile, Little Busters!' character routes had some spice to them. Common route and Refrain still best but the character ones had good stuff.

I feel like every side routes in key games are useless filler to be honest. The only things that matter in their games are the common route, the main route, and the true route, everything else could be cut, a well as half the characters.
