I played through diablo 2 times (well, 1 and a half technically since warrior was shit so i started over when the permastun ranged bullshit started happening) and never saw that guy
i had a 486/66 when diablo 1 came out (and a 1x cd drive) oh and was on dial up (33.6 was a pipedream)
getting to him was fun, because my game would lag out for like 20s and it was 50/50 odds i'd be dead by the time my computer caught up. my hdd wasn't big enough to load the game off of a disk image either. was still more fun than most of the new stuff that's out now.

Quests are semi-randomized, they're grouped into a few batches of 2 or 3 per batch, and you get 1 or 2 quests from each batch per run.

Does anyone else enjoy these games as a normal game where you start a character, beat the final boss, then stop playing? I actually am enjoying replaying through the Diablo and Torchlight series like this. No autistic farming or anything. Just a straight shot on the normal difficulty to the end, then considering it a complete playthrough.
