Yes, most of the textures were upscaled by an AI from what I've heard.
AI upscaling doesn't produce completely new images and change words like that (salad bar -> pizza bar). Those are made by the pajeets the studio handling the remasters outsourced some of the textures to.
They did use AI upscaling too, but it's a whole different look, pic related. It tends to mess up text as you can see on the awnings, so that's why most of the signs and other textures with lots of text were remade by pajeets instead.
Perhaps it's a mixture of both, first they upscaled the textures with the text, the text got messed up and then they wrote the messed up text again?
It's possible. It could also be that people making the new textures didn't understand English so they didn't know what it's supposed to say. Perhaps they used OCR which missed some letters.
All that we know is that they used the absolute cheapest methods possible for every part of this "remaster".

yep, most of these textures were just put through an upscaling software using ai, the devs were under the gun to remake all three games in a short time frame and resorted to this, surprise, it turned out looking like a cheap piece of shit with errors everywhere, not to mention all the graphical glitches and shitty new models, this game shouldn’t even be available to buy
