>The more people are telling: Stop using Opera, because it’s spyware, the more I find pleasure in using it.
The louder they have to shout, the less they actually have to say.
Google, Edge or Safari, they all have their stengths and shortcomings, as they relate to some of the big companies. Hardly anyone does call them spyware whatsoever. Firefox might be an alternative for someone looking for a more private experience .
But people calling Opera spyware only to promote some tiny project that only does promote itself as private, is ridiculos. They don‘t even have the ressources to keep their peoject safe. They are totally relying on Google, that they despise, to do the hard job for them. Remember: without Google there wouldn‘t be anything like Brave or Vivaldi, as they don‘t have enough people or money to maintain the source code. Same goes for all these Firefox forks, maintained by one or two people. It‘s quite annoying that these projects are called browsers, as they are only variations of browsers.
Opera in my mind is the only OS independent Chromium variant, which isn’t only a fork but offers really something different and has more than hobbyist ressources.
As long as there‘s no proof, for Opera doing something shady, I‘ll be using Opera gladly.
But I‘m glad, you‘re addressing these allegations.
>browser comes out of nowhere with millions of dollars' worth of astroturfed advertising on every youtube video
that should have been the first, massive red flag
Nah. Just know that YouTube intentionally throttles any browser that isn't chromium based so if you wonder why YouTube runs and loads like shit then you now know why.
I just use a useragent switcher and have it set as a whitelist with youtube.com to switch to the latest chrome version useragent. Haven't had any problems.
>what is wrong with firefox?
They made a lot of stupid choices over the past decade like greatly limiting their extension spec, reducing the customizability of it, and making it a worse copy of chromes aesthetics.
Firefox died when they went full pozz and ousted the founder because he wasnt a pozzed leftoid troony freak. The downfall has never been more deserved.
Firefox, itself, is fine. Some benchmarks it runs slower than Chrome when Google pulls an Nvidia and designs their APIs to not play nice with other browsers but it's fine as a daily driver. Some schizos bash Firefox for sandboxing and FPI that isn't as strong as Chrome or for the Firefox org's trannies pissing away the org's good will but it's a nothingburger since the org doesn't run the browser. The mobile browser is shit which is primarily where the huge discrepency in userbase comes from. No phone comes with Firefox preinstalled so turd worlders won't use it.
>firefox under internet fricking explorer
what happened?
Microsoft made a Chrome copy and forces it on all Windows installs so average Chrome user would just not bother installing something different.
What do you mean? When was firefox ever more popular than IE/Edge? Sure, in the 2000's any power user made the switch to anything but IE, but any less tech savvy people, aka most users, were fine using Microsoft's Default and didn't know why or how to switch to something else.
Internet "fricking" Explorer got updated, Firefox did not.
Edge has Copilot and DALL-E3 integrated in its toolbar.
Edge literally gives you money to spend on ASShomosexualS if you're that much of a loser, just by using the browser.
Edge is literally linked to the ebin cloud for wagies.
There are plenty of incentives to use edge, and there are ZERO incentives to continue to use a 25 year old fox browser that never fixed its memory leak.
I didn't know the situation was this bad for firefox, though it's hard to trust numbers in 2024. it's still by far the best browser as far as I'm concerned, I have never looked back
>I didn't know the situation was this bad for firefox
It's not. These charts include smart phones and FF only has decent marketshare on desktop. Chrome and Safari dominate the phone space.
I figured it was something of the sort. I also don't often use firefox on mobile, it's better than it was in the past but it's still not on the level of what it is on pc in terms of being able to adapt it very specifically to your needs.

FF usage has tanked on desktop too, it's not just mobile. It's currently at 6.6% on desktop, down from >30% in 2009-2011.
Nah the best mobile browser is Kiwi, because it's just a straight up normal browser and not some neutered piece of shit like all other mobile browsers.
>Youtube aside it's mostly okay
No it's not. Are you a zoomer? I remember going to sites without a thousand popups or glaring video ads layering every millimeter of unused space on the screen.

No, I'm no zoomer. Right now on Chrome ads are minimal for pages I visit. Its bizarre.
I did use another browser for a time with greater adblock. Haven't ran into adspam like that in a decade
Even more depressing when you realize people only use Safari because you have no other choice on Apple, and Firefox is kept afloat by Google. It's over.
Chromium has some Google botnet stripped out but it is essentially the AOSP equivalent of Chrome and is not a project focused on degoogling Chrome. Ungoogled Chromium does its best to strip out Google botnet buried in codeblobs and other hardcoded shit they try to reverse engineer and is a downstream fork of Chromium. It's slower to integrate updates than Chromium because of this. No Chrome variant can entirely remove Google from the browser.
>people actually think there's a difference in your browser
lol
lmao
it's not 2005 anymore bros.
it's all the exact same shit with the exact same impossible-to-opt-out-of tracking and telemetry.
Privacy doesn't exist anymore. Stop fooling yourselves.

Opera gx posted an image of PD3 tweet about services and their response while opening paint and putting there a screenshot of the steam players
Pd3 CM reposted that image

Epic. Simply. Epic.
OMG
this chinese spyware browser is so hecking based dling right now
twomad won
Is Opra GX actually a good web browser? If not is it at least better than chrome?
It's chink spyware aimed at tweens. Use non-proprietary Firefox/Chromium or derivatives.
Erm ackually chud that has been deboonked

THE SCIENCE HAS BEEN SETTLED.
all pozzed too. literally just use whatever suits your needs best. homosexual.
I didn't knew the CCP also collected e-girl porn..
it has built in ads you cant turn off
pic rel is when i used it. i dont even use amazon
i forgot to add picrel
It was, but it's gotten slow, very buggy, and all they do is add useless 'features' every update that no one will ever use.
It's bloated
>browser comes out of nowhere with millions of dollars' worth of astroturfed advertising on every youtube video
that should have been the first, massive red flag
Only correct response would be
>still more users than you
>firefox less than edge
makes sense, the last time i used it it was a seriously bloated piece of shit that memory leaked like crazy
>2 porcent of the global browser market
That isn't so bad, atleast it isn't 0.1% of the global steam userbase
still more people using opera than playing payday 3 lmao
how do you frick up for edge to surpass firefox?
Boomers and normies mostly using win 10 and up since it's the new IE. But it's legit better than Google when looking up photos. Frick Pinterest.
chromium is superior in all aspects, no amount of cope will change that. browsers have two choices: either fork chromium or slowly die out
2.5% of all internet users is still millions of people.
I'm using firefox
Is that bad
I use Firefox as well.
It just works.
it's better than chromium shit cuz of its privacy and extensions.
Nah. Just know that YouTube intentionally throttles any browser that isn't chromium based so if you wonder why YouTube runs and loads like shit then you now know why.
I just use a useragent switcher and have it set as a whitelist with youtube.com to switch to the latest chrome version useragent. Haven't had any problems.
im using firefox solely because chrome blocks youtube videos when using an ad blocker
>firefox 3.04%
What the frick is wrong with people
Or alternatively, what is wrong with firefox?

most casual ass list I've ever seen in my fricking like.
>please PLEASE RAPE ME and STEAL MY DATA GOOGOOAPPO!!!!!
Did you just make google into a moogle?
If so I approve.
who let them cook?
I mean with their playernumbers they can get away with this, but seeing official company twitter accounts go at it is fricking moronic.
>firefox under internet fricking explorer

FRICK Firefox.
What makes Safari number two in that list?
The amount of apple devices
>no one uses Brave
🙁
>no one uses shitty chromium fork #762
Why would they?
Firefox should be much, much higher but people are moronic. The npc memes are real.
I don't know why they bother separating these Chrome skins into separate categories.
I didn't know the situation was this bad for firefox, though it's hard to trust numbers in 2024. it's still by far the best browser as far as I'm concerned, I have never looked back

the irony being that firefox is the best mobile browser because it can use ublock.
Nah the best mobile browser is Kiwi, because it's just a straight up normal browser and not some neutered piece of shit like all other mobile browsers.
so again firefox is best since it has everything you'd want (like ublock) as a built-in plugin and is otherwise a completely normal browser
modern browsers come with adblock implemented as part of their code
stop using 3 decade old browsers moron, imagine needing extensions for basic functionality.
adguard for android exists
I wonder how much these percentages will change when chromium browsers start banning ad-block.
They wont.
Not many people use adblock or know it's even possible.
I can't imagine using the modern internet without adblock. It's fricking disgusting what israelites did.
Youtube aside it's mostly okay
>Youtube aside it's mostly okay

still gonna use firefox even if this statistics hurts. edge and chrome come as default on windows so that makes sense.
Frick Firefox
i think thats because chrome is default on phones and not actual computer browsers
Why so many people still use chrome?
Even edge is more fast and use less ram
Why would anyone give a frick about that?
Chrome on their phones so they use Chrome on their laptops
Chrome used to have a 90% marketshare. Its actually quite low now.
>firefox
>3%
there's 98 replies ITT. Statistically, only about two persons here used firefox. I'm one of them, who's the other one ?
>there's 98 replies ITT.
but what's the IP count?
Ganker users are probably statistically more likely to use Firefox and open stuff.
i posted itt just to say i use FF
FRICK safari though, IE6 of our times.
to be fair that's still a bigger share than Payday 3
You'd want to compare it to online steam users for apples to apples dummy
i am alright with firefox being low unironically because I'm not a numbersgay
>passionate about keeping the web open
why do payday devs have beef with fricking BROWSERS
corporate social media is cancer copying an outdated strategy that only worked for the specific company that made it popular in the first place
like fine wine
>chrome

Browsers are in such a shitty state.
Even more depressing when you realize people only use Safari because you have no other choice on Apple, and Firefox is kept afloat by Google. It's over.
>google wants firefox to exist because that's what they use not their own piece of shit browser
what's bad about that
for me it's internet explorer simply because nobody else uses it and nobody will bother making viruses for it
Imagine losing to Samsung Internet.

Yeah people hate stuff, but not everyone cries about it like a little b***h on a website.
you're crying like a little b***h right now
The person handling this twitter account already made a complete moron out themselves with the "advanced biology" troony shit.
epicsauce !!!
I log in to my Ganker account to browse Ganker, but all I see are X (formally Twitter) posts....
... and then you reply to them.
Yes. It's a self destructive lifestyle, I will admit. But I'm addicted to outrage, and I can't change that about myself.
He wins the internet
i would gladly play pd3 offline if it was a possibility
but i quit as soon as they demanded my mail
The only browser I use is Slimjet
Anybody heard of it? It's like Ungoogled Chromium but it's ready to use right after its installation
>Ungoogled Chromium
huh?
I thought Google Chrome was the original, and Chromium was the un-Googled version of Chrome?

I fricking hate that Chrome is the only way to view Amazon Prime videos in HD instead of SD on Linux.
Opera GX is owned by chinese investors and the obnoxious moron behind this account made UOH memes then lied about not knowing what a e-girl was.
