More like a year. People figured out how to create a workflow using GPT3/4 -> Elevenlabs to generate text and voice for in-game characters you could speak verbally to. See Skyrim / Fallout AI NPCs, Cyberpunk had a mod, few others out there in the wild. And given that what some coomer threw together in a few hours on the earliest iterations of these tools yeah, excited to see how actual creatives and a team utilize these tools so the general NPCs feel less copy pasted.
