Man this dub is grim, I really was expecting it to be half decent after all the posters here use it, both Tama and Aiba feels absolutely out of place compared to their JP counterparts
Why does Uchi shun the original audio over this crappy voiceover?
A common thing I heard about the first game was that everybody thought Aiba was naked until they saw the cover art. Her skin color was so close to her shirt color. They probably picked up on that and darkened her skin a bit to make the design more clear.
Yeah, Aiba in English doesn't feel as cute as Jap Aiba
How the frick do you people stand those high pitched voices? I've lived in Japan and normal Japanese people don't speak like that. Anime VAs have to train themselves specifically (often for years) to speak like they just huffed some helium and it's really off-putting and immersion breaking. I don't mind JP dubs in theory but there are so few actors who talk like normal people (e.g. Touko in Kara no Shoujo).
Next game will have half of it in the simulation half of it in reality, and the twist will be that what is simulated/reality is actually reversed. Like the butterfly dream Tokiko talks about.
I'm going to assume you just had a brain fart because AI1 is definitely at least 5 times higher than AI2. But that's because AI1 has been out for years and AI2 hasn't even been out a full month.

Peak players is not the same as total players. Should have taken the benefit of the doubt.
Reviews written is a better indicator of actual copies sold, and AI1 has almost 5k while AI2 has just under 900.

>that all time peak difference
ZTD really killed the hype for Kotaro games and AI1 revived it.
poor writing >acts completely normal 75% of the VN >Uchikoshi remembers 3 times that her gimmick is being a dom so she flips out because Ryuki didn't say please >forget for the next of the game
Did the nonary games version of 999 retcon anything? Did they add the cult shit to that one as a part of Aces motive or was it still just that he couldn't see faces.
I'm replaying 999 right now and I'm pretty sure all that stuff was in the original. What I can't remember is if the visual novel mode was in the original. I don't remember it at all and it adds quite a lot of extra lines of text. That's supposed to be Akane, right?
Also, after just beating VLR for the first time, frick all of you for saying it sucked and that I should avoid it. I think it was better than 999. Recency bias, maybe, but its overcoming my deep nostalgia for 999 so that should cancel out. Better puzzles, longer story, better tweests that you can fairly predict, unlike the shit with the multiple 0 bracelets in the first game. After I'm done replaying 999, ZTD better not disappoint. If everyone says VLR is shit, then maybe I'll actually like ZTD too.
Tearer was a pretty shitty villain all things considering, but at least his fanboyism got me to finally finish the trilogy.
The Visual novel text is in the opposite screen of all the dialogue text in the original. So yes, it's Akane's narration. All the dual screen stuff is kinda hard to translate to a single screen, so they just made it so there's a mode with all the narration and a mode that's just dialogue to try to create a differentiation between the two.
Also I don't think many people say VLR sucks. It's ZTD that people feel less positively about. Personally, I think it's not a bad game on it's own merits, but it is a terrible conclusion to everything VLR set up. So temper your expectations.
He probably misunderstood people saying that some of VLR's ending twists(old Sigma and not noticing moon gravity cause lol √6) suck as saying the whole game sucks.
Well, I remember the game on release and people were being pretty negative about it. Obviously I wanted to avoid any actual spoilers but I remember non-stop b***hing about Tenmyoji. Self inserters getting butthurt maybe? I thought he was great in VLR and his moment with the hologram where Sigma and Phi just back off and let him have his moment was really sweet. I think I remember being spoiled on the moon and the Junpei twist but its been like 10 years and I thankfully forgot it until the twists became obvious and I went "oh yeah, I did know this." The bad reception on release for both VLR and ZTD made me avoid both games until now.
Next game will have half of it in the simulation half of it in reality, and the twist will be that what is simulated/reality is actually reversed. Like the butterfly dream Tokiko talks about.
The happy ending of the game, with the escalating ridiculousness of it all, made me think of Big O's ending. Where things got really over the top so that the show could "retain ratings" and it ends with it all being a simulation and reality being reset. I think it'd be cool if the simulation that AI2 takes place in is someone's Somnium.
spoilers for the twist if you're looking to avoid on replay Novel mode is what was shown on the 2nd DS screen. It's akane's view. That was all there on the side describing the things that they were seeing where as the screen with the sprites/junpeis view only showed dialogue and junpeis thoughts.
the name novel mode was fricking stupid and they should have just put 2 screens in the re release as if you were playing a 3DS emulator
>better tweests that you can fairly predict
Lol >longer story that's filled with padding and interrupts you with a to be continues every 2 hours is somehow good
lmao even
This. Im willing to admit i was just stupid when i fail to pick on an obvious twist like with the mastermind reveal in 428, but the Old Sigma reveal is something i immediatly ruled out on the principle that, even if they were hiding Sigma's face for a reason, he should probably still look normal enough given how many reflective surfaces he stares at in the game even without considering the mirrors (metal tables, the aluminum foil, the pond at the garden). Like a lot of twists in VLR, it feels like Uchikoshi planned on something shocking first but than didn't come up with a proper way on how to intergrate it into the story. Honestly on first playthrough i tought that maybe the reason they were hiding Sigma's face and he never noticed anything weird was something like Akane's fever in 999 where a weird conditional got set in the time loop that was changing his appearence as the game went by, but even that falls apart with how many reflective surfaces we see in all the endgame escape rooms.
VLR is only longer because the hallway dots play at regular speed and the skip function is useless because of how many little things change between jumps like a number or color being different changing a line of dialogue that will stop it.
Did anyone else think Ryuki's brother is gonna tie into the plot somehow given Ryuki has that half Mighty phrase similar to Chikara's Almighty? But nope turns out while everyone was getting cloned or related to literally everyone else Ryuki just kinda is there and is a schizo.
>The almighty thing itself being a stupid red herring felt pointless, though.
felt like they just want to put route locks in without actually putting them in
It's strange how Ryuki's pre-release bio specifically mentioned what happened to his family, but ended up being the character with the weakest family themes.
Ryuki's parents die in a plane crash just so he can get a self-driving limousine. Ryuki's brother kind of tied into the twist as a "six years ago" incident mentioned in the Past chapters, but that's about it.
The actual story spends so much time setting up and working around the anachronic gimmick that it comes at the expense of proper character building/focus. Ryuki was squandered as a character and protagonist for the sake of the big twist.
I thought it was going to be Tearer, but when it was revealed to be "Jin" I was like "aw shit, this story is going to be crazy like the Zero Escape games" then they pulled the non-linear timeline out of their ass. I was a bit annoyed.
>the final nirvana spell reveals Iris has the power to make a tear in the world and interact with the Frayer >the extent of her in the game is eggplant and mapu tofu
what's her deal? Is she actually going to be relevant again, or at least get another song?
>Lemniscate channels start uploading videos again >6 videos in Iris becomes real >next ARG will lead to its participants becoming members of a cult established by her in our layer of simulation
>pre-called Naix, alternate timelines and immortality in the first game >was in contact with So, and just so happened to be at his place same time Tearer was there and overheard exactly what he wanted the cops to overhear >her whole level is using everyone she knows as pawns in a game (and the kusemon Go symbols are the Eye of Wadjet) >everything previously mentioned about her and the ARG >thanks to her bro Uru she's now back to being Sekiba high's no.1 dancer >called Amame at just the right moment to prevent her from going to see her dad, ultimately getting him killed >canonically into danganronpa
if uchi pulls a Kyle/ZTD on everything set up on Iris I'm going to be very upset
The biggest thing here to me is that Uru is also So's child. That was so out of the blue. That didn't serve any purpose within AI2. That's GOTTA be set-up for something in AI3 right? Right?
Please, no. AI2 already bothers me enough with how much it fricks with stuff from the original game, I don't need an AI3 twisting the knife even further.
If you're a weeb and like mystery games - sure. If you like zero escape - absolutely. If you're in doubt - watch the first hour on youtube then play it yourself.
Some anons on here are c**ts that will reply to you with spoilers
To answer your question, the twist is pretty cool but also kind of bullshit. Don't watch a play through, just torrent it and buy it if you like it enough
It's real shame what became of these threads lately, i wish i never contributed with any pics and webms that are now circling here.
Tired of "muh dub vs. sub" frickers on both sides. But i am not going to lie, it was some American frick that started, with "dub is better you weebs".
According to Ota's twitter crap, Iris wrote it for a kid who was sick with a brain tumor, which reflects her own situation. So read into the lyrics with that in mind.
Half to whole by a fricking mile. the only time i've ever enjoyed invincible rainbow arrow was aiba humming it while you buy from the bonus section in AI 2
HtW is strictly the better song but I prefer IRA by a lot because it's funnier, catchier, and it's Iris's song. Nothing will top Iris's somnium in AI1 where you have to listen to IRA half a dozen times back-to-back. Absolute kino.
I wouldn't mind if Boss retired and Date takes over her position as head of department. Though he's technically about the same age as her, so they'd likely retire around the same time.
Also I like Boss so I wouldn't really want her to retire.
Date being promoted to the top of ABIS and everyone around him calling him "Boss" could actually be a neat way to let him use his Falco face in a future game without immediately spoiling newbies, if Uchikoshi remains insistent on that.

Let lameDate go. He specifically says that he continues to wear the mask because everyone in ABIS know him by this face.

But the end of the first game says they knew his new one
Anyone got that tier list of Zero Escape-esque games? I want to play more death games and stuff and I know Somnium Files isn't one but just be nice and post it please 🙂
It looks fricked but I like it, its unique. If by "standard VN style" you mean static backgrounds and characters looking at you while text appears in front of them, then at least ZTD is visually expressive, even if the animations are fricked.
She didn't come to him when he was depressed about seeing Jin's corpse and she blew up on him when he showed her that he'd taken the other half, so he probably assumed she hated him too.
Uchikoshi seems to like conspiracy theories but keeps circling around the same ones in all his games. What are some other conspiracy theories/similar concepts you think could be fun in his style?
What I hate about the multiple simulations is that if that's the case then what's the reason for characters remembering things from other worlds, like the Mizukis remembering the final battle in the diverge ending. It's not like there's just one simulation that got reconstructed and they are remembering things via deja vu as a bug, the other simulations are still there so why would they remember.
Multiple timelines wouldn't mean multiple simulations it can be 1 simulation that accounts for different timelines and sometimes information leaks between them. Since Tokiko creates a new timeline by force with the nil number that's probably the case.
the "timelines" are the parallel simulations that exist, that's what they are going for, also AI2 was already created by Date remembering stuff from other routes in AI1 but no one else remembers stuff from other worlds
My assumption is the only simulations are the non-resolution routes, being run by the Wadjet system to determine potential scenarios which is why AI-Ball-havers remember things. Explosion and Shoma route are both simulations based on Ryuki's own memories. The Gen & Amame and Kizuna & Lien endings are also simulations branching off from Mizuki's memories. Diverge is glitch in the system caused by Tokiko's beliefs confluencing with the simulation.
>people keep saying this >people keep not predicting the twist anyway
He's gonna run out of plot twist combos eventually, but you guys aren't really giving him a reason to read some new pseudoscience books
999 >= VLR >=AI1 > --POWERGAP-- > AI2
This game was a fricking dissapointment and made me mad when the first game made me emotional
I'm not buying the next game unless it's absolutely phenomenal (spoiler: it'll be another ZTD)
No way, I put in 60 hours compared to 40 in the first game
You probably just felt like that because there's very little branching to do compared to the first where you check all over the flowchart.
It took me 40 hours on this game and only like 25 on the 1st.
It's definitely longer. Felt like it would've benefited from being shorter actually, especially with all the shitty excuses for needing to go into characters' somniums instead of just trying to talk to them for 5 minutes.
Frayers I just feel like getting mandela effected....
I got roughly 20 hours for both games. I only listened to the dialogue like 50% of the time and skipped the text boxes as soon as I read them the other half.
Its weird because I think AI2 is overall longer and has more somniums, but everything is very straight forward so you aren't trying to figure out dream logic in somnium as much (I prefer AI1's somniums). But AI1 also has a shit ton of padding and going back to Mama's bar for no reason. At least in AI2, Mama FRAYS so he's not completely useless.
It's definitely longer. Felt like it would've benefited from being shorter actually, especially with all the shitty excuses for needing to go into characters' somniums instead of just trying to talk to them for 5 minutes.
First one is definitely longer and feels like there were more branches but 90% of the game Iris and her annoying simp squad so it probably increased how long it felt.
In the first game you had way too many pointless dialogue options that you had to pick. The second game dialed back a bit on that bloat.
Also the first game's somniums were harder.
Nah I'm not talking about routes, I'm talking about Somniums with multiple branches.
>Mizuki/Ryuki Somnium >Minecraft Man Somnium >Bibi >Lien
I mean tbf, the only actual branch somniums were Komeji and Lien's since Ryuki and MW's were password locked. And even then, Komeji/Shoma's is the only one that feels like a route since it has an exclusive somnium while the other two side ones are just the ending after Lien's somnium
Imagine fricking Mizuki while getting fricked by Bibi
imagine mizuki and bibi giving you a blowjob at the same time
Imagine it's the middle of winter and all three of you are wrapped tight in a big blanket on the couch, sipping hot chocolate, watching Anime together.
Bros I have just got another question, what's with the reverse psync in the beginning. One of the reverse psync scene I got is the "mom&dad or Date" scene from mizuki route in the 1st game which shouldn't exist in resolution ending. And then the reverse psync is never mentioned again.
He's talking about this part, and it's the part where Mizuki chooses between Date and her parents right at the end of his Psync, indicating that she too has memories of the Mizuki ending of the first game.
I'll give you THREE important bits of information:
1) There is no evidence that reverse psyncing is not limited to people with AI-Balls.
2) Splits in the flowcharts only ever happen during somniums.
3) You can abuse a =1 timie to make *any* action take 1 second.
>Knows that Iris is So's kid but doesn't know where mom is being held (there's a point in the game you search the warehouses for the balloons and find "nothing") >Knows that Date uses a mask but doesn't know his real face
Ry-Ryuki?
i actually thought this was going to be the twist for this game. i mistakenly came to these threads early on and got spoiled on mizuki but only enough to know that there was a fake. i spent a small chunk of the game thinking ryuki was such a schizo mad lad that he changed his appearance to look like mizuki and that the twist was that the scarless mizuki was ryuki all along.
Just started this after finishing the first game and loving it. I fricking hate Tama. Why am I not playing Date and why the frick is Aiba only on Mizuki. I hate this. Please tell me these characters get better. At least Mizuki and Aiba are still there, but I'm stuck playing as this homosexual and listening to a prostitute in my eye 24/7 and its going to filter me.
>Why am I not playing Date
Because he's on vacation >why the frick is Aiba only on Mizuki
Because play the game >Please tell me these characters get better
There is a 50/50 chance Ryuki will either grow on you or you'll hate him to death
I kept waiting for there to be a half body where it would turn out that their real cause of death was on the other half. So like someone got shot in the heart but their right half was found and assumed to have died by the cutting.
>2 serial killers and a minecraft streamer
not sure which is more embarrassing, really
actually I forget, is he mentioned anywhere in the present timeline? I know he just fricks off in the past when Iris hits her head (also pretty suspicious, actually)
>30 years old >manages a diner on his own >still simping for A-Set full time >still going to the Sunfish Pocket so much he recently earned to top level Simp Trident
he's almost, almost there. Really needs a girl who can pull him out of his simp ways though, but with Iris also there all the time that's a tall goddamn order
To be fair Lien has the biggest dick amongst the cast and was also upfront with his feelings, which were pure love. Meanwhile Ota just ineffectually orbits and treats Iris like a goddess instead of a friend.
I don't get why Uchi needlessly complicates things in way that make stuff just make no sense. Like there's no reason why the moon base in VLR couldn't have artificial gravity so they needed radical 6 to be perfectly aligns to moon gravity, or old Sigma couldn't have had ABT on him to look young so that twist made sense. Similarly making Bibi live with boss and a Mizuki stalker just makes AI1 have plot holes where none needed to be there, Bibi could have been recently freed from some facility been told Mizuki died or ANYTHING that doesn't involve her playing hide and seek while living with one of the main characters.
Anyone do a replay yet?
I blitzed through it on PC and felt pretty down on it despite still kinda liking it overall, but something tells me this is a game that demands a second run especially due to the timeline twist
Probably frickin murdered, considering he was in Boss's body and could've tricked Bibi into thinking (s)he was the real Boss
>God of energy. Inti inti pachaka max!
What the frick did this mean? Was this just Japanese humor?
Still amazed that I fully expected this dude to be a piece of shit but ended up being the one I was most sad about fricking dying in all but one route
Next game won't fricking happen because 2 bombed even harder than 1
>I'm going to assume you just had a brain fart because AI1 is definitely at least 5 times higher than AI2
Yeah, alright
Also you can't in good faith post about the concurrent when AI 1 was on sale for $8 and Nirvana got a bunch of people interested in playing that first
Will there ever be an agent + AI pair that can top this?
Honestly Ryuki/Tama would've been just as good if they had a whole games' screentime. The only reason Mizuki/Aiba turns out okay is because they had setup chemistry in the first game
I really fricking wish Nirvana wasn't made for newcomers because by consequence it has to make Date come off like an unbelievable butthole to hide his connection to Hitomi and Iris
Ryuki/Tama become significantly better when you replay. Suddenly infinitely more competent, especially when you understand that Ryuki's alcohol dependence is never actually a thing during either investigation because he shapes up before he starts present-day investigations. Also his schizo stuff is only active for the latter part of the past investigations.
He's a lot cooler after you piece everything together then think about it from his pov. Date is still better.
So how does this work for the people watching outside of the Somnium? Whenever the psyncer uses a time, does it just skip over whatever they did during that time and they just see them doing nothing for one second or is it really sped up for them?
usually the time periods aren't stupidly long or are just longer then usual chunks of time, so I assume they just see stuff going slightly faster/slower then usual for normal actions.
For the '=1' timie for a year actions who knows, probably have to specially record that and try to decipher it later
an outside observer probably doesn't see anything but since psync sessions are recorded there's probably a 400+ terabyte recording from gen's somnium on the abis server
>Bibi's being betrayed by Ryuki despite her being one of the few to actually worry about him and watching/trying to prevent Mizuki from making the same mistake was one of the more interesting parts of the plot for me >However the entire plotpoint is in hindsight and by the time you piece the full story together she already forgives him
Biggest wasted opportunity. The protags should interacted more
Kinda both.
Japanese let's you do the whole "gender expression" thing without having to force others to do things. And in general if your only exposure to "the letters" is the yes-man pc version from twitter it looks mostly fine.
Can someone spoil me the first game? I just finished two endings and went green first and then purple. Both routes were so radically different that I’m wondering if who the murderer is actually important in the end and everyone besides Shoko will be saved. I can already feel the plot twist that F is D
The girl might be an eggplant-brain streamer with terminal chuunibyou, but if you remember back to the first game, she's perfectly capable of being more sly than she lets on at first glance.
They don't need to mask spoiler in AI3 if they follow the tokiko ending that nothing actually happen, which is legit ending obtained by using cheat power just like the resolution route in AI1
>Blue eyeball appears on the table when questioning Ryuki
No idea who this is supposed to be. It can't be Maruko, can it? Ryuki shouldn't know about him yet.
>Green hands in the sky in the cathedral
Someone else mentioned this might be "the player" since the cursor is green.
>Tama also refers to it as a "reverse psync"
It seems Ryuki is also confused and not the one instigating it.
>The mental locks/psync objectives/keys do not change when in control of Tama during reverse psyncs >However, if you open the map, the area is called "Darkness" and the subject is "Mizuki Date"
>After giving Ryuki a cup of coffee, the mental lock says "You made Date face forward" instead of "You made Ryuki face foward"
Mizuki Date or editing error? Might have something to do with the reverse pysncing.
>When the screen is flipped, the action you can make towards Ryuki is "gibberish"
>Ryuki is suffering from anal fissures
>After giving Ryuki food at Gen's place, the mental lock says "Date changed his stance"
Two editing errors seems unlikely. Maybe "his" is an error and it's referring to Mizuki here? But why, if she's the psyncer?
>During the last reverse psync, Date is a green silloute instead of being blue
What's the significance of this? The hands were also green.
>Blue eyeball appears on the table when questioning Ryuki
same one shows up in Tokiko's, maybe just a reference to Naix stuff, though as to why it's blue in both levels I'm not sure, it's not like blue eyes pop up anywhere else aside from Marco.
If I go for a strecth, it may be what Date was talking about when he said he thought ABIS was compromised, Tearer did have access to the Wadjet system when he had access to Tama for a bit, who knows what he was doing with it.
giving Ryuki a cup of coffee, the mental lock says "You made Date face forward" instead of "You made Ryuki face foward"
giving Ryuki food at Gen's place, the mental lock says "Date changed his stance"
i'd check but idk how to change the text to JP from english in a playthrough, and i can't find a JP video
It's going to be hard since the game doesn't have as big of a player base in Japan and the Spike Chunsoft requested no spoilers past Ryuki Chapter 3 until the 14th.
That's because murdery mystery VNs that dont take itself super seriously are non existent. The last one with a similar production value we got was DRv3 which came 5 years ago.
So did the game ever say what adult was responsible for Mizuki for 6 years? Or Shoma when his dad died? Or they just let the minors live by themselves without legal guardian? It is kinda weird if Boss just ignored her despite adopting her "sister".
Now that I think about it, that's something that's missing from AI2. In most of Uchikoshi's works, one of the twists is that you're playing as one of the main villains, but that isn't the case this time around.
It wasn't Blick, it was That Guy who was explicitly a different person according to Uchi. You could also kind of get the idea in-game that they were different because Blick is described as a 4-dimensional time traveling entity while That Guy is described as a 0-dimensional entity that exists in all times at once. Also Blick has a conscious and That Guy kind of doesn't in a way.
An average book (think Hunger Games) is a 10-12 hour read.
Somnium Files was on sale for $8 (a quarter per hour)
But keep gatekeeping yourself I guess.
Are there any other games with prosthetic AI companions? >protag drinks too much >his artificial liver climbs out of the abdominal cavity with a suitcase in hand >calls him a fricktard and goes on vacation
AI2 ia all good, but for me, discovering manaka's body disrupting the culprit's plan while you play along with the idea of parallel world until you get hit by the tragic reality in iris ending is still the best trick they pull off
I can't tell when this ryuki flashback is set at all. Characters keep acting like the events of the first game happened, but Date is still in that rich guy's body.
Mizuki has already referenced being shot in the leg, and just now Date was making fun of Aiba for missing him.
When is this taking place?
Date said in your first encounter with him that he uses a silicone mask because people are more used to that face plus he thinks it's more handsome, which is false.
This whole "not spoiling the first game" charade is so stupid. I understand people are moronic and want to jump on a new shiny thing but come the frick on
It's a ruse, this is all a somnium of someone who doesn't know Date's true face but knows that he had an original body. It's also why the warehouse is mentioned as holding a sad memory but when they search it for a balloon they don't find the body.
>plus he thinks it's more handsome, which is false. Saito is much more better looking than F. Not to mention he's also younger. Anything for REIKA-CHAAN
Gen being able to read your mind was really cool and they should have used it more before the reveal that it's Date. Using it twice in one scene then doing the reveal 3 minutes later was kind of lame.
What happened to Tearer threatening Ryuki into being his accomplice? It seemed to last that scene until Ryuki jumped out the window then it was never brought up again.
This game really should've taken place after the Mizuki Route >No need to do the stupid mask thing with Date and ruin his relationship with Hitomi since he remains the status quo >No need to explain Pewter since he never got arrested >Iris is technically dead. But who cares, she's essentially just a mascot anyway and SoIris would be hilarious with spoiler-toggle Wink Psyncs
>Wink into Iris >She's making posters for an upcoming campaign in the area
Date and Hitomi's relationship wasn't ruined though. Hitomi says she hasn't seen Date lately because that scene happens in the [present] and Date is still missing.
>Date and Hitomi's relationship wasn't ruined though.
It kinda is when he literally decides to override his Falco face into the guy that held her at gunpoint, and also actively avoid her to go lusting over other girls before then returning to her house for free affection. Date's always been ultrahorny even in Falco's body but he was way too much of a dickhead here
Still wondering why the frick there's such a flat fanfare over Date being back after 6 frickin years. At that point I feel like the entire plot point was just there purely to induce drama on Ryuki's part, especially when we all know he's going to be alive
It's bizarre, Mizuki's motivation for being in ABIS, and the reason Boss even let her work on the case, is because of Date's disappearance. Then they don't even get a heartfelt moment when they reunite.

Bad writing. >At that point I feel like the entire plot point was just there purely to induce drama on Ryuki's part
That, and I imagine they felt Date had to be kept away for most of the game so that his presence wouldn't potentially make the twist more obvious. It's still dumb and kind of retroactively shits on the ending of the first game, though.
There absolutely was a "heartfel reunite" between Mizuki and Date. If you are talking about Bibi seeing Date, that's the point. It's not Mizuki. You could shit on so many things but not in this one.

Yeah, it's bullshit. Wasn't exactly thrilled that Date gets Anesia/goes missing for 6 years but they couldn't even be bothered to pay off his return properly.
Or just don't be a pussy and require people to play AI1.
Or be a smaller pussy and have a summary in AI2.
Or be a gigachad and include AI1 in the game in it's entirety.
fire emblem 3 contains a truncated remake of fire emblem 1 then new content
donkey kong '94 has the donkey kong arcade game as world 1 then has several other worlds
every "game of the year" edition of a video game, technically
Fun fact: The original Senran Kagura only had the Hanzo girls playable and their story, Senran Kagura Burst, the first game released outside Japan, is actually the second one, and it contains both the original story and the new one with the Hebijo girls, so it technically contains the prequel inside of it. White Knight Chronicles 2 is the most notable example I can think of. Also Mary Skelter 2 includes a shortened version of 1/Nightmares, heavily cuts down on dungeon complexity
>Or be a gigachad and include AI1 in the game in it's entirety. >Start AI2 >Fail the spoiler toggle >Host says don't feel bad and immediately transports you to the beginning of AI1 and you can play the entire game from there
Pewter being present was stupid and unnecessary anyways. I don't understand why they felt the need to bring him back AND bullshit a reason for it when it didn't seem to have any relevance to the story. Were they just scared of people playing AI2 first and then wondering why this character is absent in the second game when they go back to the original?
just to show how powerful Boss is to Ai1 players that she can even spring Pewter out so quick after the first game, the Ai-Balls/Psync machine are supposed to be mostly his thing so he's a pretty big asset for her/ABIS to have around
The quantum computer of Dcom contains all universes in it, this digitized reality, it's a set that contains itself. Ryuki knows about the rhyzomes because he is one of those SHIFTers that survived for a while longer the terrorist attack and his memories went back, like the other multitude of SHIFTers who Delta read the mind of to know about the terrorist. Zero Escape in the AI universe was created by someone to warn of those events. The virtual space of the gift ending in ZTD is a true reality because everything exists inside the quantum computer. The frayers are people from a universe with a quantum computer which simulates a quantum computer simulating the universe but not itself. Naixatloz wants to escape the quantum computer which has the power to create realities. The Wadjet system and the somniums are connected to the quantum computer from the higher similations, this is what enables Mind Hacking in thay world(psync and wink psync). The morphogenetic field is born from the quantum computer which contains all minds inside and this causes bugs to happen sometimes. the AIs born from the Wadjet system are technically real minds who only exist in virtual space, but when Elgorg (part of the order of %) manages to perfect their computer they will be able to alter reality by hacking into the ZE quantum computer and manipulating reality. The final secret of the "AI" name is literally that everyone in it is an AI.
The biggest thing I'm confused over is what exactly was the plan. And by that I mean if Tokiko really believed that making people go crazy would break the simulation or if the whole thing was only about the nil number and getting frayer to intervene
I feel like it's the second and I've either speedread the part that spells this out or I'm too smoothbrained to have noticed it.
the second. It was all mostly a trick to get (You) to learn about the nil number as Mizuki (x2) and then go tell Tokiko about it as Ryuki. You trade information between timelines in the game beforehand and it works, but only between the same character which the simulation is okay with, but trading information between timelines between different characters is apparently a no-no, which breaks shit.
might have found out where he was, figured he was ok and just left him there as an ace in the hole, much like how she just had Bibi lying around during the first game
based Tama
Man this dub is grim, I really was expecting it to be half decent after all the posters here use it, both Tama and Aiba feels absolutely out of place compared to their JP counterparts
Why does Uchi shun the original audio over this crappy voiceover?
Did they change Aiba's skin color from this white to regular white skin?
A common thing I heard about the first game was that everybody thought Aiba was naked until they saw the cover art. Her skin color was so close to her shirt color. They probably picked up on that and darkened her skin a bit to make the design more clear.
ever thought that it's not supposed to be literally 1:1 with nips
Yeah, Aiba in English doesn't feel as cute as Jap Aiba
wrong, JP Aiba and JP Mizuki are the two worst cast choices in the game
I disagree. JP Aiba and Mizuki are some of the best cast choices in the game
cringe weebs
Predictable schizo
cringe weebs
>Plays weeb game
>Not a weeb
It's not good to lie to yourself, ironic weeb-kun
>calling anyone a weeb while playing a Japanese VN
Where do you think you are?
You have a terrible taste.
Why is it that half-Koreans always have some weird hangups over anime character's cursing?
How the frick do you people stand those high pitched voices? I've lived in Japan and normal Japanese people don't speak like that. Anime VAs have to train themselves specifically (often for years) to speak like they just huffed some helium and it's really off-putting and immersion breaking. I don't mind JP dubs in theory but there are so few actors who talk like normal people (e.g. Touko in Kara no Shoujo).
>normal Japanese people don't speak like that
Most people aren't playing Japanese anime games for realistic portrayals of Japanese people.
They're also not playing them for inaccurate portrayals of japanese voice pitches.
perfect
Next game will have half of it in the simulation half of it in reality, and the twist will be that what is simulated/reality is actually reversed. Like the butterfly dream Tokiko talks about.
next game is going to be in all the same locations with all the same characters and all the same jokes
Only if "real" part consists of real-life footage with actual voice actors running around, like those FMV adventure games from the nineties.
real-life pictures, like 428 shibuya but with voice acting, would be kino aand now I desire an IRL dance number by the whole cast
Oh god I don't Holy frick imagine the cringe Jesus Christ
filtered by cringekino Uchikoshi should also play a character and dance in this hypothetical
Next game won't fricking happen because 2 bombed even harder than 1
>Steam rating for AI1
>92%
>Steam rating for AI2
>91%
Well you're not wrong I guess.
The steam all time players is four times higher for 2 than 1.
I'm going to assume you just had a brain fart because AI1 is definitely at least 5 times higher than AI2. But that's because AI1 has been out for years and AI2 hasn't even been out a full month.
>I'm going to assume you just had a brain fart because AI1 is definitely at least 5 times higher than AI2
That's concurrent not all time, moron.
I drew a Mizooki and then abandoned her on the streets, where she will be eaten alive by rats. Do what you will with her.
Rats you say?
Stop, make a pause or you will be deported to /vg/. I saw this happening to DR.
We are already fraying into /drg/.
troony game. nuke japan
What was her fricking problem? Why did Tama keep getting pissy when Ryuki asked her to do stuff?
Tsundere
because he didnt say please and shes his dom
She's a dominatrix
bro the bdsm stuff is the whole gimmick of their relationship
poor writing
>acts completely normal 75% of the VN
>Uchikoshi remembers 3 times that her gimmick is being a dom so she flips out because Ryuki didn't say please
>forget for the next of the game
Brainlet, pay attention and the roles reverse inside and outside of somnium.
FRICK bacongays
Did the nonary games version of 999 retcon anything? Did they add the cult shit to that one as a part of Aces motive or was it still just that he couldn't see faces.
Pretty sure the nonary games release is exactly the same. They just made higher rez portraits and added voice acting.
It retconned Sudoku
That part was so funny, I didn't even look at the question and just typed in the answer
Fricking morphogenetic fields man
What the frick did it do with the final puzzle?
there's no sudoku because no dual screen
Tearer was a pretty shitty villain all things considering, but at least his fanboyism got me to finally finish the trilogy.
the visual novel mode was not in the original because it didn't need to be, it was always on the bottom screen
In the DS version of 999 both modes were displayed at once on the top/bottom unlike the toggle in the nonary games
The happy ending of the game, with the escalating ridiculousness of it all, made me think of Big O's ending. Where things got really over the top so that the show could "retain ratings" and it ends with it all being a simulation and reality being reset. I think it'd be cool if the simulation that AI2 takes place in is someone's Somnium.
>if the simulation that AI2 takes place in is someone's Somnium
Someone accidentally a =1 timie?
Oh god. Imagine if he actually pulls that shit next game. Was the =1 timie cooking battle foreshadowing?
>=1 timie
>they talk about simulations within simulations
>specifically use dreams as a simulation reference with The Butterfly Dream
It'll be like how Naix was real all along in the sequel. In AI3, the butterfly was real all along.
It's CHIM all the way
spoilers for the twist if you're looking to avoid on replay
Novel mode is what was shown on the 2nd DS screen.
Lol
>longer story that's filled with padding and interrupts you with a to be continues every 2 hours is somehow good
lmao even
Honestly on first playthrough i tought that maybe the reason they were hiding Sigma's face and he never noticed anything weird was something like Akane's fever in 999 where a weird conditional got set in the time loop that was changing his appearence as the game went by, but even that falls apart with how many reflective surfaces we see in all the endgame escape rooms.
why didn't the nonary games version just include a dual screen mode
VLR is only longer because the hallway dots play at regular speed and the skip function is useless because of how many little things change between jumps like a number or color being different changing a line of dialogue that will stop it.
and then AI3 ends with Akane waking up on the boat from a nightmare
Did anyone else think Ryuki's brother is gonna tie into the plot somehow given Ryuki has that half Mighty phrase similar to Chikara's Almighty? But nope turns out while everyone was getting cloned or related to literally everyone else Ryuki just kinda is there and is a schizo.
I thought it was odd that they specifically showed his broken watch and what time it stopped at down to the second only for that not to be relevant.
No, because the Half-Might thing is a quirk of the localization and only exists because English players wouldn't get an Anpanman joke/reference.
The almighty thing itself being a stupid red herring felt pointless, though.
I bet it'll be saved for the 3rd game.
I thought it was going to be Tearer, but when it was revealed to be "Jin" I was like "aw shit, this story is going to be crazy like the Zero Escape games" then they pulled the non-linear timeline out of their ass. I was a bit annoyed.
thats the dlc
Dahlia = Phi's black dahlia
Boat = The Gigantic
More cringe forced LGBT dialogue and unfunny dance scenes
These games would be good otherwise.
Is there anyone in this thread who has not played the first game?
Low effort shitpost which I had to make
Wasn't there one of these for the first game?
>the final nirvana spell reveals Iris has the power to make a tear in the world and interact with the Frayer
>the extent of her in the game is eggplant and mapu tofu
what's her deal? Is she actually going to be relevant again, or at least get another song?
She's redpilled about Naix&Abis, they're gonna either brainwash her or kill her. Pick your poison.
>Lemniscate channels start uploading videos again
>6 videos in Iris becomes real
>next ARG will lead to its participants becoming members of a cult established by her in our layer of simulation
AI3 will just be AI2 rereleased but without Iris.
consider this
>pre-called Naix, alternate timelines and immortality in the first game
>was in contact with So, and just so happened to be at his place same time Tearer was there and overheard exactly what he wanted the cops to overhear
>her whole level is using everyone she knows as pawns in a game (and the kusemon Go symbols are the Eye of Wadjet)
>everything previously mentioned about her and the ARG
>thanks to her bro Uru she's now back to being Sekiba high's no.1 dancer
>called Amame at just the right moment to prevent her from going to see her dad, ultimately getting him killed
>canonically into danganronpa
if uchi pulls a Kyle/ZTD on everything set up on Iris I'm going to be very upset
>ruining the first game even more
The biggest thing here to me is that Uru is also So's child. That was so out of the blue. That didn't serve any purpose within AI2. That's GOTTA be set-up for something in AI3 right? Right?
So's 3 kids are the 3 antagonists of the games.
Please, no. AI2 already bothers me enough with how much it fricks with stuff from the original game, I don't need an AI3 twisting the knife even further.
>they do it anyway
>they try to make it spoiler free again too
you will get B in AI3 and you will enjoy it
So could Phoenix solve the half-body killings?
yes but hopefrully he does not get an outdated autopsy report!!
so is it worth playing the game for the twist or should i just watch it online or not bother at all (and refund it)?
no spoilers pretty please
You're gonna get spoiled, get the FRICK out.
I will only look at posts that give me (you)s so I should be good on that front. Would you like to answer the question? Thanks for the warning though
Don't watch a play through, just torrent it and buy it if you like it enough
pirate
its not that good but its worth being able to play at your leisure
It's real shame what became of these threads lately, i wish i never contributed with any pics and webms that are now circling here.
Tired of "muh dub vs. sub" frickers on both sides. But i am not going to lie, it was some American frick that started, with "dub is better you weebs".
no it was not. it was a japanese freak complaining about someone posting an english clip
You didn't clear the Somnium.
Yeah I dont care man I told Aiba to solve it
Invincible Rainbow Arrow or Half to Whole?
Arrow easily
Half sucks due to the Gen/Shoma and Kappa shit
Ryuki also sounds lifeless
I skipped both because japanese pop really isn't my thing.
IRA has more sovl
Invincible Rainbow Arrow is just a lot more fun in general, both as a song and as a dance number.
Arrow is more personal to the cast and therefore a better ending but HtW is catchier.
ENG Invincible Arrow > JP Invincible Arrow
JP Half to Whole > ENG Half to Whole
I like Arrow better even though I have no idea what it's about. The words sound like gibberish to me.
Will there ever be an agent + AI pair that can top this?
maybe if the schizo and tama can get a whole game to themselves next go around.
Garbage taste
Why won't JP artists draw more Tama/Ryuki.
They have to play the game first.
I wonder how many artists are among the 4000 nips that played it, haha...
They're the most competent together but I like Ryuki and Tama more.
No. If AI3 doesn't have these two as main characters again I'll be sad
I'd rather it not. Let them show up as fanservice, but don't force Date into even more shenanigans. He's more than earned his happy ending by now.
Yeah I really don't want Date back as a protag after this game. It'd take too much fricking around with his character again.
I wouldn't mind if Boss retired and Date takes over her position as head of department. Though he's technically about the same age as her, so they'd likely retire around the same time.
Also I like Boss so I wouldn't really want her to retire.
they can all just get promotions and boss becomes dates boss who becomes your boss
Frick you and frick Uchikoshi's lame excuses.
He already had his share of happy ending for 6 years of memory loss, get back to work you filthy slacker
My ideal Psyncer/AI pairing for the next time is Boss (or some other MILF) with a cute-but-bratty shota AI, potentially Marco. Would be very cute.
>boss will be 60 years old in ai 3
would you still plow her barren womb?
I am already plowing Tokiko's so sure.
>*says something perverted*
>"eww get your head out of the gutter"
>repeat in every somnium
Yeah, truly riveting .
Anyone got that tier list of Zero Escape-esque games? I want to play more death games and stuff and I know Somnium Files isn't one but just be nice and post it please 🙂
Why couldn't boss find a guy to have her own kids with?
cuz she's built for Tokiko
SEEK A WAY OUT
Every time I saw those words I thought of Xavier Renegade Angel where he says "You couldn't even SEEK your way out of a cardboard bag"
I wonder if a team of two aggressive commanding AI/Psyncers would work, where they don't get along at all and dislike each other
Uchi's twitter likes are something else
>that time he asked what tops and bottoms were
He's kinda a madman
He's on his way to become the next hideki naganuma
Just started ZTD and holy shit, this game looks awful. I can't believe they thought this was a better alternative than the standard VN style.
should've gone with the ps4 release for better shading https://youtube.com/watch?v=_H16WN_3yNg
It looks fricked but I like it, its unique. If by "standard VN style" you mean static backgrounds and characters looking at you while text appears in front of them, then at least ZTD is visually expressive, even if the animations are fricked.
Komeji died thinking his children hated him
Amame never hated him, only Shoma
She didn't come to him when he was depressed about seeing Jin's corpse and she blew up on him when he showed her that he'd taken the other half, so he probably assumed she hated him too.
Kind of lame that the weird videos are meaningless except the few frames with numbers and letters
Uchikoshi seems to like conspiracy theories but keeps circling around the same ones in all his games. What are some other conspiracy theories/similar concepts you think could be fun in his style?
the kozyrev mirror, gravitational shielding, sentient water, IQ is contagious, biological tansmutation, the lazarus effect, microchimerism, grounding, precognition, ether drift, hereditary trauma
What I hate about the multiple simulations is that if that's the case then what's the reason for characters remembering things from other worlds, like the Mizukis remembering the final battle in the diverge ending. It's not like there's just one simulation that got reconstructed and they are remembering things via deja vu as a bug, the other simulations are still there so why would they remember.
morphogenetic field
It's one simulation, they remember because they were "frayed".
>what will be the next Uchi's big twist?
Probably the same one he's been reusing for the last 25 years
>people keep saying this
>people keep not predicting the twist anyway
He's gonna run out of plot twist combos eventually, but you guys aren't really giving him a reason to read some new pseudoscience books
Why did they make her so hot and correct?
>this is a woman in her 50s
How did chikara get a woman like this?
epigenetic ecstasy
OOOOH HAPPY HAPPY CHIKARA
Abuse of power and authority.

I understand the "nee nee" in Japanese but what does "bi bi" mean?
A kid who can't speak well yet trying to say big sister and setting on just the bi part
999 >= VLR >=AI1 > --POWERGAP-- > AI2
This game was a fricking dissapointment and made me mad when the first game made me emotional
I'm not buying the next game unless it's absolutely phenomenal (spoiler: it'll be another ZTD)
I wanna ______ Chikara
I wanna ______ Tokiko
fill in the blanks

Is the length of game actually shorter than the first game? I feel like it ends too fast
no it isn't
Frayers I just feel like getting mandela effected....
No way, I put in 60 hours compared to 40 in the first game
I got roughly 20 hours for both games. I only listened to the dialogue like 50% of the time and skipped the text boxes as soon as I read them the other half.
Its weird because I think AI2 is overall longer and has more somniums, but everything is very straight forward so you aren't trying to figure out dream logic in somnium as much (I prefer AI1's somniums). But AI1 also has a shit ton of padding and going back to Mama's bar for no reason. At least in AI2, Mama FRAYS so he's not completely useless.
First one is definitely longer and feels like there were more branches but 90% of the game Iris and her annoying simp squad so it probably increased how long it felt.
In the first game you had way too many pointless dialogue options that you had to pick. The second game dialed back a bit on that bloat.
Also the first game's somniums were harder.
>and feels like there were more branches
This is what I thought as well, but this is false. Ai1 as shown in your image has 4 splitroute somniums.
Ai2 has 4 as well.
AI1 has 5, AI2 has 6.
Nah I'm not talking about routes, I'm talking about Somniums with multiple branches.
>Mizuki/Ryuki Somnium
>Minecraft Man Somnium
>Bibi
>Lien
Oops my bad
That’s technically true, but the second game’s split routes are all super short except for the first main one.
I mean tbf, the only actual branch somniums were Komeji and Lien's since Ryuki and MW's were password locked. And even then, Komeji/Shoma's is the only one that feels like a route since it has an exclusive somnium while the other two side ones are just the ending after Lien's somnium
imagine sandwiching bibi with mizuki
Imagine fricking Mizuki while getting fricked by Bibi
imagine mizuki and bibi giving you a blowjob at the same time
Imagine it's the middle of winter and all three of you are wrapped tight in a big blanket on the couch, sipping hot chocolate, watching Anime together.
BIBI

CUTE
>not under the kotatsu
>tfw not a shota or buff guy
They wouldn't like me enough for that
possibly, but the nice thing about fictional characters is you can imagine them as whatever you like
these two ladies are big sloots
>Bibi looks like Shoko when she was 24
>Ai3 just makes Shoko Bibi's original egg donor
Uchi, this has to stop somewhere
Bros I have just got another question, what's with the reverse psync in the beginning. One of the reverse psync scene I got is the "mom&dad or Date" scene from mizuki route in the 1st game which shouldn't exist in resolution ending. And then the reverse psync is never mentioned again.
It's just a greyscale version of the apartment Mizuki also lives in, not necessarily a memory of the Date psync.
He's talking about the parents vs. Date scene when you get too close to the Ryukis with red auras during the upside-down portion.
I suppose you get more reverse psync scene by being bad because I accidentally touched red ryuki once.
I will now use a timie to research cold nuclear fusion
>The entire game is a somnium of someone who doesn't know what Date's real face looks like so they keep him in the mask.
Oh HELL
that would actually be a good explanation for Ryuki, no goddamn way anyone would take that gigantic liability and give him a gun.
Break me out of the loop Tokiko sama
See, that would actually be an innovative of the fictional world's mechanic
as opposed to.. well... you know...
>Knows that Iris is So's kid but doesn't know where mom is being held (there's a point in the game you search the warehouses for the balloons and find "nothing")
>Knows that Date uses a mask but doesn't know his real face
Ry-Ryuki?
oh my godddddddddddddddd
RYUKI IS A PRETTY BUTTERFLY
I hate this generic tumblr artstyle
We have slim pickings as far as fanart goes.
You think you're playing as 2 different characters, but you're actually playing as the same character the whole time
i actually thought this was going to be the twist for this game. i mistakenly came to these threads early on and got spoiled on mizuki but only enough to know that there was a fake. i spent a small chunk of the game thinking ryuki was such a schizo mad lad that he changed his appearance to look like mizuki and that the twist was that the scarless mizuki was ryuki all along.
Ryuki's great, Tama is shit.
>Why am I not playing Date
Because he's on vacation
>why the frick is Aiba only on Mizuki
Because play the game
>Please tell me these characters get better
There is a 50/50 chance Ryuki will either grow on you or you'll hate him to death
If it motivates you, you switch to Mizuki about 40% into the game and never go back to Ryuki.
There is zero reason to finish this game unless you really, REALLY like Mizuki.
They can't tie the ZE world into AI since 999 was confirmed to be just a video game.
The characters in ZE can break free of their simulation and join the AI world.

FRAY TO FREE
I kept waiting for there to be a half body where it would turn out that their real cause of death was on the other half. So like someone got shot in the heart but their right half was found and assumed to have died by the cutting.
I know someone ported Aiba to Koikatsu for the first game, any news on getting Tama, Bibi/zooki and Tokiko ports? I wanna make the seggs
>F is only in the kusemon somnium if you have spoilers on
>he's still a silhouette
What the frick are they so scared of?
What the FRICK
murderwiener
whats his problem?
he's a politician
addicted to the ol pump and dump
>2 serial killers and a minecraft streamer
not sure which is more embarrassing, really
actually I forget, is he mentioned anywhere in the present timeline? I know he just fricks off in the past when Iris hits her head (also pretty suspicious, actually)
family photo!
Murder aside, So's got some pretty good genes.
>children are all lookers
>but all of them also have varying levels of autism and brain problems
The Sejima bloodline is certainly something.
>so’s tv static sperm yields brain damaged and mentally unstable offspring

NOW
look at this dood
>30 years old
>manages a diner on his own
>still simping for A-Set full time
>still going to the Sunfish Pocket so much he recently earned to top level Simp Trident
he's almost, almost there. Really needs a girl who can pull him out of his simp ways though, but with Iris also there all the time that's a tall goddamn order
The most unrealistic thing about AI2 is it took him 6 years to get the top tier trident
Virgin ota simps for years and gets nothing while the Chad Lien simps for years and gets married.
Tbf Kizuna is a sheltered ojou-sama who received a disability nerf. She's easier to marry than a successful idol.
To be fair Lien has the biggest dick amongst the cast and was also upfront with his feelings, which were pure love. Meanwhile Ota just ineffectually orbits and treats Iris like a goddess instead of a friend.
>Pure love
Yeah he loves her voice, that's it.
Sometimes it starts as something simple as enjoying someones company. You don't need a whole manifesto worth of reasons to like someone.
My man, he asked her to marry him after hearing her sing once then started stalking her for her hand.
we get no other reasons, even in somnium. their relationship is shallow.
Only way for him to move on from her is to kill her. AI3 is everyone trying to murder Iris to make Ota a better person.
I love her
UOOOOH AIBA EROTIC
>saito tied up hitomi in boss's house
Where the frick was Bibi during all of that
They'll just say she was in the hospital with heart issues at the time
hospital
she was taking a trip to non-existence, located in retconville
Bibi's entire existence retroactively makes many of the things involving Boss and Mizuki in the original AI much more stupid than they had to be.
Still amazed that I fully expected this dude to be a piece of shit but ended up being the one I was most sad about fricking dying in all but one route
Yeah, alright
Also you can't in good faith post about the concurrent when AI 1 was on sale for $8 and Nirvana got a bunch of people interested in playing that first
Honestly Ryuki/Tama would've been just as good if they had a whole games' screentime.
I am just watching LPs for the replay experience
do you think the implications of the =1 timie keeps pewter up at night
quite a few things keep him up at night
So how does this work for the people watching outside of the Somnium? Whenever the psyncer uses a time, does it just skip over whatever they did during that time and they just see them doing nothing for one second or is it really sped up for them?
That Gen somnium must have been confusing
usually the time periods aren't stupidly long or are just longer then usual chunks of time, so I assume they just see stuff going slightly faster/slower then usual for normal actions.
For the '=1' timie for a year actions who knows, probably have to specially record that and try to decipher it later
an outside observer probably doesn't see anything but since psync sessions are recorded there's probably a 400+ terabyte recording from gen's somnium on the abis server
f......flat.....
....cute....
made for makeout sessions with her clone
she's cute but in a daughteru kinda way. Mask Mizuki is waifu material though.
Both of them are daughterfus and waifus to me.
why does she keep wearing the masked woman outfit
because they didn't have the time or resources to design a completely unique outfit for her that'd only be on screen for a small part of the game
What is this expression meant to convey?
Btfo by an eyeball
>flattie you can touch
>cowbreasts you can't touch
ERABE
>Cowbreasts enters your dream and you can do lewd stuff with
>Flattie you can't do anything with anywhere
You can hug the flattie and really feel her heartbeat and ribs!
So should be locked up for spawning two serial killers. And also make sure there's not another one roaming around somewhere
>Bibi's being betrayed by Ryuki despite her being one of the few to actually worry about him and watching/trying to prevent Mizuki from making the same mistake was one of the more interesting parts of the plot for me
>However the entire plotpoint is in hindsight and by the time you piece the full story together she already forgives him
Biggest wasted opportunity. The protags should interacted more
Is this the series with all the homosexual virtue signaling?
it's only brought up once in each game and never again. I am not sure why it's even a line in either.
ONE HUNDRED TWENTY SEVEN POUNDS OF MUSCLE AND S M U G
Bibi is better
Sell me Mizuki.
1) cute
2) flat
3) talks back to you when you give her shit
4) is extremely loyal to those who she loves
I can't, here leftist bullshit makes me want to slap her shit.
Do japs have a different lgbbq population or are they simply uninformed about degeneracy?
Kinda both.
Japanese let's you do the whole "gender expression" thing without having to force others to do things. And in general if your only exposure to "the letters" is the yes-man pc version from twitter it looks mostly fine.
>are they simply uninformed
>about degeneracy
kinda ironic
hampter
nice palindrome!
shut the frick up iris
$50, she's damaged goods on account of missing her left eye but she's still good otherwise
Can someone spoil me the first game? I just finished two endings and went green first and then purple. Both routes were so radically different that I’m wondering if who the murderer is actually important in the end and everyone besides Shoko will be saved. I can already feel the plot twist that F is D
you're nearly there, just do the last route, frick
>Please spoil me, I don't understand it
filtered
Juts finish it you dipshit
(You) are the murderer, because you are a Frayer
>I can already feel the plot twist that F is D
Its called good foreshadowing.
>Iris tried to seduce Date in AI1
>Iris tried to seduce Ryuki in AI2
She's a bawd
She's a twitch streamer, what did you expect?
>Iris tried to seduce Ryuki in AI2
when
Limo scene after the So mansion. Tama got upset.
God I want to shovel her forge.
why is she saying this to him
She's into him because Ryuki is a handsome young lad.
are there any more instances of her being into him in the game
She's not into him.
Iris is kind of a tease sometimes.
The girl might be an eggplant-brain streamer with terminal chuunibyou, but if you remember back to the first game, she's perfectly capable of being more sly than she lets on at first glance.
More importantly, how many men has Iris...?
Don't you dare!
She couldn't get Date after learning his true identity so she had to move on to the next best thing which is his kouhai
>God of energy. Inti inti pachaka max!
What the frick did this mean? Was this just Japanese humor?
It's funny
>t.tama
I don’t know but I thought it was funny and catchy
AHA AHAAA
At first it's so bad it's funny, then it just becomes funny
Thought it was stupid and cringe when he kept doing it. Then started missing it when it was brutally taken from us.
Outside of the main cast he grew on me the most.
well he's from osaka isn't he? they have that unfunny manzai shit there
They don't need to mask spoiler in AI3 if they follow the tokiko ending that nothing actually happen, which is legit ending obtained by using cheat power just like the resolution route in AI1
Stuff I noticed in Ryuki's somnium
>Blue eyeball appears on the table when questioning Ryuki
No idea who this is supposed to be. It can't be Maruko, can it? Ryuki shouldn't know about him yet.
>Green hands in the sky in the cathedral
Someone else mentioned this might be "the player" since the cursor is green.
>Tama also refers to it as a "reverse psync"
It seems Ryuki is also confused and not the one instigating it.
>The mental locks/psync objectives/keys do not change when in control of Tama during reverse psyncs
>However, if you open the map, the area is called "Darkness" and the subject is "Mizuki Date"
The eyeball is Mizuki's, it symbolizes his guilt for her injury at the cathedral.
>Ryuki is suffering from anal fissures
Poor Date
giving Ryuki a cup of coffee, the mental lock says "You made Date face forward" instead of "You made Ryuki face foward"
giving Ryuki food at Gen's place, the mental lock says "Date changed his stance"
i'd check but idk how to change the text to JP from english in a playthrough, and i can't find a JP video
It's going to be hard since the game doesn't have as big of a player base in Japan and the Spike Chunsoft requested no spoilers past Ryuki Chapter 3 until the 14th.
Deep
Anyone else who literally can't stop thinking about this game despite beating it a week almost two weeks ago? I can't get it out of my head.
That's because murdery mystery VNs that dont take itself super seriously are non existent. The last one with a similar production value we got was DRv3 which came 5 years ago.
gnosia doesnt play the same but it is written like a lost uchikoshi story before he went senile.
Is it? I really liked Gnosia but it didn't feel like any of his sort of writing hallmarks were involved.
>12 years is a very rong time, everyone will forget about Zero Escape by then
WHERE'S FRICKING KYLE
B-Bros...
What do you mean? Almighty? Her reason for saying it wasn't because she knew you needed it.
aaaaaaaIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
>oh looks its time to betray
How did Tokiko know the phrase you’d need in Chikara’s somnium? She has no actual powers.
What happens in the ARG? I never played it.
Why did the snail do it bros?
He was just living
Flat justice!
So did the game ever say what adult was responsible for Mizuki for 6 years? Or Shoma when his dad died? Or they just let the minors live by themselves without legal guardian? It is kinda weird if Boss just ignored her despite adopting her "sister".
>"eternal youth is a lie"
>looks like a smoking hot babe
What did she mean by this
o mio dio
999>R11>VLR>>>AI1>AI2>E17>ZTD>>>N7
>tfw he was right except Divergence is the unhappy ending, at least for the Frayer and Ryuki and the normal true ending is the shitty happy one.
>Horadori hazmats in the back
AAAAAAAAIEEEEE I'M FRAAAAAAYING
Na, they just reused assets. If you think this has a relation to Zero Escape then you are just delusional.
Hey I saw a kappa that I really want to catch
cute
I just know I'll catch myself doing this hand sign randomly, it's the exact kind of moronic behavior my brain does sometimes.
Got an order in when they reopened
Pray for me, fellas
post stuff that makes you horny
>Tearer never said that life is unfair
Wadjet is just some old guy in a control room and you've technically been playing as him throughout the entire trilogy.
Now that I think about it, that's something that's missing from AI2. In most of Uchikoshi's works, one of the twists is that you're playing as one of the main villains, but that isn't the case this time around.
He just loves Blick and puts him into all his games. It's not always the villain. Not even half the time, really.
Wasn’t Remember11 the only Uchikoshi game to have Blick as the villain? Unless I’m misremembering one of them
It wasn't Blick, it was That Guy who was explicitly a different person according to Uchi. You could also kind of get the idea in-game that they were different because Blick is described as a 4-dimensional time traveling entity while That Guy is described as a 0-dimensional entity that exists in all times at once. Also Blick has a conscious and That Guy kind of doesn't in a way.
Oh I get that, I just meant Blick as in the player, including That guy, frayer, etc
Why are there so many threads about these games? since when are they popular?
You're on Ganker. People here play the most obscure vn shit because they have nothing better to do.
>Ai
>obscure
Also there is literally no competion when it comes to murder mystery games.
Exactly, AI isn't obscure at all compared to some of the shit that gets discussed here
A new Sherlock Holmes game just came out last year.
>inb4 its not anime so it doesn't count
Clever, but unlike me you're not a frayer. Now watch THIS.
WHERE.
is all the tokiko porn.
I erased it from this timeline to have it all for myself
god damn you bro. just share a crumb of the coochie.
Hitomi, Boss or Tokiko, who is the better hag/milf
Hitomi is nice, but I'm not really into her in that way. I'd at least mostly trust Boss not to try to kill me afterwards (unlike Tokiko).
I would definitely trust Tokiko more than Boss.
y-yeah
...s-sure
Tokiko has achieved enlightenment and is free from humanly desires.
Boss would sell you into slavery in exchange for getting to meet her idol boys.
>He trusts Boss
Not even Date trusts Boss.
https://vndb.org/v26532
https://vndb.org/v31469
Receptionist trumps all of those
What did she say in the sub
Probably "oppai" or somethin
How long are both AI games?
I finished both in 25-30 hours
They're too short
An average book (think Hunger Games) is a 10-12 hour read.
Somnium Files was on sale for $8 (a quarter per hour)
But keep gatekeeping yourself I guess.
I mean I'm playing it I just wish Somnium Files was longer so it had a higher priority on my Steam profile's hours.
>higher priority on my Steam profile's hours
How is this even a thing and who on earth cares about that.
I'm autistic.
Leave it running while you sleep.
I'm a schizo like Date.
definitely, you must be...
Are there any other games with prosthetic AI companions?
>protag drinks too much
>his artificial liver climbs out of the abdominal cavity with a suitcase in hand
>calls him a fricktard and goes on vacation
I can’t remember, whose somnium is the last in the game? It can’t be Lien’s, can it?
mame chan's somnium mizuki side
just about to psync into tearer's dream. how much more of this game left?
AI2 ia all good, but for me, discovering manaka's body disrupting the culprit's plan while you play along with the idea of parallel world until you get hit by the tragic reality in iris ending is still the best trick they pull off
This second game feels like Chaos;Child. Nothing must be real. AAAAAAAAHHH
Chaos;Child is way more enjoyable than AI2.
LONELY GIRLS ACROSS THE WORLD LETS WAKE UP AND FIGHT
Frick this song for being so catchy, literally can't stop randomly humming in by accident everyday
I can't tell when this ryuki flashback is set at all. Characters keep acting like the events of the first game happened, but Date is still in that rich guy's body.
Mizuki has already referenced being shot in the leg, and just now Date was making fun of Aiba for missing him.
When is this taking place?
1 year after the resolution (true) end in AI1.
I must have missed that bit of dialogue then.
GOD OF SPEEDREADING, INTI INTI PACHAKA MAX!
>plus he thinks it's more handsome, which is false.
Saito is much more better looking than F. Not to mention he's also younger.
Anything for REIKA-CHAAN
he's right though
plus it's more distinctive
Gen being able to read your mind was really cool and they should have used it more before the reveal that it's Date. Using it twice in one scene then doing the reveal 3 minutes later was kind of lame.
What happened to Tearer threatening Ryuki into being his accomplice? It seemed to last that scene until Ryuki jumped out the window then it was never brought up again.
what do you mean what happened? it's why ryuki brought date to the execution chamber the next day
It continued in Ryuki Chapter 5 since Tama had the self-destruct function added and he was to lure Date to the Cathedral
This game really should've taken place after the Mizuki Route
>No need to do the stupid mask thing with Date and ruin his relationship with Hitomi since he remains the status quo
>No need to explain Pewter since he never got arrested
>Iris is technically dead. But who cares, she's essentially just a mascot anyway and SoIris would be hilarious with spoiler-toggle Wink Psyncs
>Wink into Iris
>She's making posters for an upcoming campaign in the area
Date and Hitomi's relationship wasn't ruined though. Hitomi says she hasn't seen Date lately because that scene happens in the [present] and Date is still missing.
>Date and Hitomi's relationship wasn't ruined though.
It kinda is when he literally decides to override his Falco face into the guy that held her at gunpoint, and also actively avoid her to go lusting over other girls before then returning to her house for free affection. Date's always been ultrahorny even in Falco's body but he was way too much of a dickhead here
It also doesn't help that he and the Sagans only got to reunite for a few months before he went missing for six years AGAIN.
Still wondering why the frick there's such a flat fanfare over Date being back after 6 frickin years. At that point I feel like the entire plot point was just there purely to induce drama on Ryuki's part, especially when we all know he's going to be alive
it's because the writing's not good
It's bizarre, Mizuki's motivation for being in ABIS, and the reason Boss even let her work on the case, is because of Date's disappearance. Then they don't even get a heartfelt moment when they reunite.
Mizuki is too much of a tsundere
There absolutely was a "heartfel reunite" between Mizuki and Date. If you are talking about Bibi seeing Date, that's the point. It's not Mizuki. You could shit on so many things but not in this one.
>Still wondering why the frick there's such a flat fanfare over Date being back after 6 frickin years
Bad writing.
Frick you are moronic.
>Or be a gigachad and include AI1 in the game in it's entirety.
Name one game that includes the original in the sequel
fire emblem 3 contains a truncated remake of fire emblem 1 then new content
donkey kong '94 has the donkey kong arcade game as world 1 then has several other worlds
every "game of the year" edition of a video game, technically
Fun fact: The original Senran Kagura only had the Hanzo girls playable and their story, Senran Kagura Burst, the first game released outside Japan, is actually the second one, and it contains both the original story and the new one with the Hebijo girls, so it technically contains the prequel inside of it. See also: Mary Skelter.
Alice: Madness Returns had the original American McGee's Alice included in it
doom
White Knight Chronicles 2 is the most notable example I can think of. Also Mary Skelter 2 includes a shortened version of 1/Nightmares, heavily cuts down on dungeon complexity
Mary Skelter 2 includes a BETTER version of 1 in its entirety for free on all platforms.
>Or be a gigachad and include AI1 in the game in it's entirety.
>Start AI2
>Fail the spoiler toggle
>Host says don't feel bad and immediately transports you to the beginning of AI1 and you can play the entire game from there
Too kino to actually happen.
The final secret of the "AI" name is literally that everyone in it is an AI.
>the convoluted zero escape timeline comes into play in AI
no no no NO NO NO NO
anon would you describe Wink Psync as a primitive form of Mind Hack?
I'm going outside
TRUTHPILLED
>the quantum computer itself looks like an eye
NO NO NO NO NO
It was a giant AI-Ball all along!
>Delta's eyes are twin AI-balls
bros
i pirated zero time dilemma but i cant get the jap voices to work, only the english ones do
what do
The biggest thing I'm confused over is what exactly was the plan.
I just want to play another 999 game
You'll take your fanservice and you'll like it.
so boss just like Date live in atami for 6 years or did she just assume he was Gone
hard to say with Boss, honestly
might have found out where he was, figured he was ok and just left him there as an ace in the hole, much like how she just had Bibi lying around during the first game
>AI1 releases
Next to zero fanart
>A2 releases
Suddenly an insame amount of fanart
Huh
Did anyone rip and dump Nirvana Initiative’s models yet? I need them for reasons
what reasons
I want to mod Tokiko into h-games
Seconding, I want to use Ryuki's model in VRchat for funny antics
