AI2 would've been better if it was just Ryuki&Tama. Frick all this twinzuki bullshit, it exists only to create WOW-effect for the timeline twist and produces way too many retcons.

Unfortunately. Otherwise I thought it was fine. I think they shouldn't do another dual protagonist game though. The AIs kinda gotta backseated. And Date should not have been in this. Funny lad, but he wasn't used well in this.

    >why did Tokiko kill herself
It's part of her plot to get the frayer to notice

    >why did Uru call himself Dahlia Boat in various ends
It's part of Tokiko's plot to get the frayer to fray the world. The name itself is an anagram of Ialdabaoth, the false god that created the world and binds souls to their material bodies.

    >why did nobody mention an older Mizuki existing to her younger sister
Because it's stupid to assume that someone you see now is a clone or relative just because they resemble someone you think is unrelated to them that you saw six years ago.

    >why does Date have Saito’s face and voice
Meta: To prevent spoilers for AI1.
In-game: See the explanation for face. As for the voice, Date (89) and Saito always had the same voice (actor) in Japanese, the shitty localization just gave them two different voice actors.

      >why old psync machine no longer required eye removal
      Upgraded by ABIS

      >none of this is in the game
It's in the original Japanese text in the appendix (82), the shitty localization got lazy and just removed large amounts of details for no reason.

      >Are Ryuki's parents alive?
No. In English the limo is all he has left of his parents. in Japanese he calls the limo a katami meaning "something received from a dead person" of them. They're dead.

      >What's the contradictions regarding Mizuki people mention?
In AI1 in Japanese Shoko explicitly says she gave birth to Mizuki and in 2 they had to add a scene with Mizuki recalling this and commenting on it to cover how bad the contradiction is. English version mistranslated the line to begin with.

      >Where do I put the number from the end?
      First meeting with Tokiko

      >What do I do with the last appendix password?
      AR game website

      >Is the AR game actually relevant to AI2?
      no

      >Marco or Maruko
Maru means circle/ball, -ko is a suffix for female names in Japanese.

      >What are the name puns this time?

she's only a not a villain by virtue of us not yet playing a character that's not working for her. Think about it, all the ABIS agents we've seen so far are either deeply loyal to her through events that were originally designed to blackmail the frick out of them (Falco/Date), severe mental health issues (Ryuki), severe physical health issues (Bibi), and failing all that if she thinks there's the slightest chance an agent won't agree with her on something she sics the SAT teams on their ass (Mizuki). Remember, the body-swap plot in the first game was her idea in the first place.

        >why did Tearer call himself Dahlia Boat in various ends
Dahlia and Boat are key phrases that ensure the Frayer would observe the timelines in his desired order. The order the Frayer perceives the story is important to the plan to reach Moksha.

          Anonymous

And characters inside the game have no influence on how the player percives things.
Not counting that separating it into 2 endings doesn't amount to anything more than if it had been only one.

            Anonymous

But Tearer's use of the Dahlia Boat key phrases does influence the way we see the story. It ensures (honest) players go through Ryuki's path before Mizuki's.

People are confused about when Ryuki got sprayed by the PERGEbox cause it has one of the most deceptive scene transitions in the game. You go from present day when he investigates Tokiko's murder, gets sprayed, and falls of the bridge right to a scene of boss berating him and saying he needs to solve the case or get demoted. Except the 2nd scene is from 6 years ago and Boss is mad at him for shooting the mascot not falling.
Actually, who the frick was he even chasing out of the cathedral? Only Amame comes to mind since Uru and Tokiko were already dead.

The bike was said to be ABIS property by Aiba but I never picked up anything about the outfit, hair, and equipment.
Equipment we can assume was from ABIS, and maybe Bibi saw little Mizuki wearing yellow and requested yellow stuff to be made, then they make multiple sets of everything and Mizuki eventually wears them too.
Not sure why Bibi chose to wear the high school uniform, maybe to blend in or because Kizuna/every relevant teen girl was going there, and then Mizuki ends up choosing that school in the future since every female friend she has went there in the past.
Frick the hair, there's no explaining that outside of hurrr clones raised in very different environments like same thing.

At this point you're just trying to come up with explanations, but they're still plotholes.
And it was young Mizuki the one that chose the outfit, iirc the conversations happens when leaving shoma's empty house on Mizuki chapter 1, it may be necessary to examine the kotatsu.

                >JP TEXT IS DIFFERENT
Nobody cares. If they released the game with its current EN translation and it’s not patched out then it’s canon.

If there's a plot hole in EN that doesn't exist in JP then yeah, it's a pretty big fricking deal. People will be asking about this for years to come with people needing to inform them that it is not a plothole because the localizers couldn't bother to translate 2-3 more lines.

Both, honestly. The story might have the timeline swap and lol2mizuki which is much harder to decipher than brain swapping besides one or two specific hints like the Urushi's line about the guards letting the power being cut twice in a few daya even though the events at the time are thought to be years apart but this one also had better somniums and still fun to try and piece together.

I think the first had better story elements in the somniums. And more memorable. It was haunting to be in the killer's.
But I do like them here too, but I think the Escape room and Amame's raising the overall quality, which is why people like it more.
I also personally wasn't too big a fan of the minigames in them.

True, since that was the second somnium a lot of people saw and it was insane. 2 also has less edge gor whatever reason, where 1 had two teens being sawed im half, so (boss) cut up in pieces, renju(iris) being hooked up and strangled, etc. The one look we get at So's crazy genes this time is mostly not even Uru's fault

I thought it was pretty fun and interesting. Not as good as the first but a great experience overall.
The timeline twist was pretty fun on a meta level, espeically considering how much more meta this game is than the first. It carries some interesting story implications too with the whole frayer thing and the final twist with Tokiko.
Ryuki deserevd more love however. Hope to see more of him and Tama in a future game and have Date back as the playable mc.

      Explain broken watches to me.

fun fact most of the time you see a broken clock in Ryuki's route, they're set to the same time that Ryuki's brother died at

Iris(real world since Uchi is real) was fricking murdered by the fanbase
      https://twitter.com/HiddenBats/status/1536891506124267520
      https://twitter.com/Lemniscate_Aset/status/1536171748680421376

      https://twitter.com/Uchikoshi_Eng/status/1537418543440216066

      >uchi says trying to SHIFT or use morphogenetic field would potentially cause events to simply repeat rather than change until whatever HiddenBats is is defeated

Meh, I respectfully disagree. Meaning isn't necessarily lost with a "false reality" reveal, it only changes the meaning. The key is to have the new meaning be equally or more compelling, and to not hand-wave away everything that happened in the false reality.
I think the divergent end is supposed to feel hollow because the player was essentially manipulated into helping the mastermind to achieve the happy end.

For me the Divergent ending came down to "do you want the happy ending enough to give the literally schizophrenic man knowledge that would absolutely frick their perception of reality and essentially render them emotionally hollow now knowing that nothing matters?" I thought that was a really cool final and personal choice whether or not to give Ryuki the knowledge of the world but they didn't really go into it enough.

Unrelated side note: I've played both AI games, as well as 999/VLR (avoided ZTD but i know about the COMPLEX memes, etc.). Should I try Remember11 and Ever17? I hear it wouldn't be worth playing now since I've seen it been said that Uchi has recycled every twist from both games so I feel like I wouldn't enjoy it as much. Are they still worth playing even if you can probably tell the twists ahead of time? Assuming it's timeline and perception-based twists where things did not actually happen as you see them.

Both are a good read. Ever17 stuck with me more though.

sadly i think that's the one i've been spoiled on more, is that the one where you think one event happened from two perspectives but it was actually two different events happening from one perspective each time?

Yes, and it's done in the same way as AI NI.
            >They hide it from you that a character doesn't age
            >Character looks exactly the same and has the same name and acts the same BUT OOPS IT WAS ACTUALLY A CLONE
            >Here's an immortal AI to round out the cast to make it look even more like they're all the same people

The twist is actually relevant to the main story (unlike AI NI's) and pulls it off way better, though.

The conclusion is a pile of dog shit unfortunately, it's literally just the same as the Frayer end in AI NI, except that everyone just accepts the happy ending that came out of nowhere the end. AI NI's version of it actually feels like an antithesis to Ever17's shitty deus ex machina.

              Anonymous

Disagree. The conclusion is good and well explained. It's just more deus ex machina than anything
You MIGHT be right that it's done better in AI2, but I don't know, as they aren't that similar.

                Anonymous

I didn't mean to say in any way that the frayer ending in AI NI is good at all. Only that the player deus ex machina thing is fricking moronic, and that NI making it out to be an ominous "was this really the right thing to do" was an antithesis to it.

I would have liked it to be a real ending with a real route but it just feels like a bonus secret thing.

                Still better than R11's non-ending

R11 is explicitly incomplete, Uchikoshi has gone on record saying that they released it missing the final chapter.

I can forgive it since it's Ushi's early work and I feel like I can deal with some pacing/conclusion issues after playing other VNs that start out amazing then frick it up at the conclusion *cough*Raging Loop*cough*still liked it but why the frick did it end like that

Felt like he just wrote himself into a corner with the suspense and had to bullshit something to me.

Uchikoshi apparently thought so himself too, and the Xbox 360 version of Ever17 has a completely different ending and explanation for the twists, completely doing away with the player saves the day shit, but I haven't played it and can't go into detail. That version of the game is still stuck on the 360 too, all the releases that came after it are based on the old version.

I've been avoiding Your Turn to Die for the same reason; it looks great and I want to play it, but I also don't want to wait months or years to get my ending and would rather just wait till it's done.

It just struck me that it might have been really interesting if they released the Ryuki and Mizuki routes as two games separately (maybe at half price to compensate), with Mizuki coming at least several months later.

I can agree with that, I thought his "death" at the stadium was way too obviously not going to stick, and 2's epilogue with "oh look ryuki's back!" felt like a cheap repeat of Aiba's return in 1. Had to be done to blackmail Amame. He knew that letting Amame murder him would create the saddest timelines for the characters the Frayer is observing. It was necessary to urge the Frayer to reach for the happier ending, which requires them to ascend his mother to Moksha. It was all for the sake of manipulating the Frayer.

                This is correct.

Was it really his plan? I thought TC-PERGE was his plan and Tokiko bet on him losing because you wouldn't be able to deliver the nil number otherwise

The TC-PERGE plot is a distraction from his real goal.

I dunno man, his diary spells out that his goal is Nirvana Initiative and he's waiting for TC-PERGE to be complete. Tokiko doesn't mention either in the end. Also, regarding prophecy. Tokiko says in her log that she learned the great deception of this world after she slit her wrists. That was before Uru killed Jin and came to her with his plan and after she taught Uru Naix stuff to help him cope. Uru's plan was not based on the truth that she has discovered.

The diaries are meant to be seen by the Frayer. It's all to trick us that the TC-PERGE plot is the real goal. A dire, world-threatening plot is crafted to get us invested.

Also, regarding prophecy. Tokiko says in her log that she learned the great deception of this world after she slit her wrists. That was before Uru killed Jin and came to her with his plan and after she taught Uru Naix stuff to help him cope. Uru's plan was not based on the truth that she has discovered.

The truth she learned from her NDE is that the game world is a simulation. Uru's grand plan concerns how to reach Moksha. The timeline is: Tokiko discovers reality is false, teaches belief to Uru, Uru masters quantum mechanics, Uru comes to his mother with the plan to manipulate Frayer and reach Moksha. It's in this way that he is fulfilling his mother's prophecy, which his bio page describes.

He achieved nothing but revenge on the two people he hated the most and theb died a pathetic simp death, the whole 'he achieved mommy's plan is a massive cope' since no one but Shigure was aware of her own personal plan which is why she has Amame carry the last bits of her plan. Saito and Tearer in the end are both cartoon villains but Saito at least had the merits of killing key characters if you messed up somnium routes so at least he felt threatening.

Was it really his plan? I thought TC-PERGE was his plan and Tokiko bet on him losing because you wouldn't be able to deliver the nil number otherwise

          This is correct.

It's because Saito's role got split between 4 people. Plus Tearer couldn't be as scary as Saito because Saito was unhinged maniac killing people at random, while Tearer had very deliberate plan that doesn't change, which is why there's little to no variety in routes.

If Uchi continues the autism about not spoiling previous games then there's no real room to grow. We have tons of threads to explore like Ryuki's past or simulation theory, but they can't directly deal with any of the events from AI2 like showing Bibi on screen or showing that it's a simulation.
With spoilers my guess will be it's another game with shifting perspectives where you're solving a crime both in the simulated world and real one. Hell maybe even Iris' murder if Uchi is insane enough to let a twitter poll actually kill her off, there's certainly time to incorporate that since AI3 would be in a few years.

I thought whenever Mizuki's model from the first game appeared in a Ryuki segment, that was actually the younger Mizuki, not Bibi, because Bibi was either in the masked woman costume or Mizuki's design from the newer game. Some anons disagreed, so I went back to look for footage that would try to prove it - found Feb 15th (past) Mizuki with first game model saying she's happy Aiba's back, which I think is pretty definitive evidence that the Mizuki that was caught with the eye wound graphic was the one we knew.

      >I'm very worried AI3 will lean full on into the simulation theory and take place after Ryuki-Divergence
Why would that worry you? I'd be hyped as frick. Screw these people that want Uchi to "keep it grounded." Mundane investigation games are a dime-a-dozen.

        Anonymous

Because once you throw out the idea of your story even taking place in reality within its own canon, everything loses its meaning. The divergence was incredibly cool in the moment going from the epilogue to the nil number input, but the "golden end" you make by Ryuki fricking up causality felt extremely hollow.

          Anonymous

Meh, I respectfully disagree. Meaning isn't necessarily lost with a "false reality" reveal, it only changes the meaning. The key is to have the new meaning be equally or more compelling, and to not hand-wave away everything that happened in the false reality.
I think the divergent end is supposed to feel hollow because the player was essentially manipulated into helping the mastermind to achieve the happy end.

Honestly AI is such a third-rate mystery that I'd prefer it Uchi went full sci-fi

Uchi is too moronic for real sci-fi, he'll pull another 9000 deus ex machines up from his ass to cover up his lack of knowledge, all that mixed up with a huge occult ~~*lore*~~ (also pulled out from his ass). What I liked about AI, and 999 until the ending, is how grounded it was. Uchi can white a good mystery, but his COMPLEX PLOT DEVICES ruin fricking everything.

        Anonymous

Both AIs are already full sci-fi with bodyswaps and cloning and AI-balls. The problem is that "lol it's all fake Pla-I mean Frayer nothing's real just play with the timelines lol" is it makes the entire game meaningless(and also proves the villains right).

If Naix were wrong and the AI world was real then their actions are wrong, but since apparently the world is a simulation which you can escape then what they did is correct, Tokiko even engineers her own ascension as well as a timeline where nobody but Jin and Chikara die in a very Delta like way.
They set up this whole theme in Shoma end about how you shouldn't deny reality and that love is important your connections are real etc. only for that to get turned on its head by the fact it's all fake and we can just glitch our way into solving the case 6 years early.

AINI's "Diverge Timeline" is a lot better because it isn't treated as a golden true ending where everyone is happy. Mizuki and Bibi are clearly unsatisfied even if they don't know why, and Ryuki doesn't like where he left the things.

It's treated moreso as an alternate timeline that bleeds into Resolution if you don't tell Ryuki what happened

I think the major twist was not worth it. It feels like it took a lot of effort from the writer, and a lot of setup and contrivances, and when it was revealed I was more like "huh.." instead of "HOLY SHIT".

      Anonymous

I actually found it detrimental to the experience because

-Having Date show up in Mizuki's route (actually taking place in the past) ruined his return in the Amame/Gen route

-Big Mizuki's stuff in the past has her tiptoe around all the people close to small Mizuki because that would give things away making it unsatisfying in terms of character interactions

-I did like what it did for Ryuki's narrative, but it also has the side effect of him and Tama just not being relevant for the entire latter half of the game, which made the interactions with him feel off.

        Anonymous

yeah, good points. Setting up the twist just requires too much sacrifice.

          Anonymous

I wouldn't be complaining if it had been worth it, or if the way it was done was good. Like Ever17's reveal about Takeshi, that was fricking mind-blowing.

But AI NI's is just kind of lazy with big and small Mizuki looking the same just because, and the entire section before the lock on Mizuki's route makes it so damn obvious that it's in the past so it doesn't even feel like a surprise, and it has literally no effect on the case at all with the only thing it explains being Shoma's disappearing act on the ferris wheel.

So it feels like they made all those sacrifices for a trick that does literally nothing.

            Anonymous

Yeah, my main issue is that it's not really a diegetic twist. Nobody's really affected by the twist, the only character who you look at differently because of the twist is Bibi, who only really exists to further the twist for the most part.

      Anonymous

I'm still not sure if I really liked the flowchart twist because it's really only directed at the player and not the characters at all besides Tokiko and whatever the hell is possessing Mama, but I will appreciate that it was the first twist in a long time if not ever to make me sit down for like thirty minutes and retread the entire in-game plot summaries and a couple scenes so I could start to understand what actually happened.

It's not, it's just brainlets who saw the reveal and said "yeah whatever" and closed the timeline without bothering to actually look at the order events, who then start asking stupid questions that would be answered by them looking at the damn timeline.

              >is (SCENE) in past or future????
all of which can be answered by looking at where the scene is on the fricking timeline

I still had to retread, at least mentally, because of double Mizuki, but disregarding that there are a couple hints you're looking at the timeline wrong that made me go "huh" but didn't dig too deep on them much like how I figured out Mizuki had to have been at Aioen because of Richii's reaction but that didn't make sense to me since I play the games dubbed and Shoko never said "give birth" in the JP text

          Anonymous

yes she did. in Japanese Shoko says I wish I never gave birth to you but in english she says I wish you'd never been born so the inconsistency only exists in Japanese where she specifically says she gave birth to Mizuki

It really did feel like nothing when it happened.
AI1's reveal was so simple and it was one piece of information we needed to finally understand the entire story.
AI2's reveal was several pieces of information thrown at us very quickly that felt like a bunch of band-aids being used to reattach a limb, meanwhile it raised more questions on top of the things still left unexplained.

        Anonymous

It felt like a band-aid that they cut off limbs to use in the first place. A lot of the story's elements don't really make sense outside of the timeline twist, because it has to bend over backward to, for example, never show Kizuna in the past to Bibi, or Kizuna in the present to Ryuki. All it really explains is Tokiko's supposed revival, which nobody in-universe actually thinks is a thing except maybe Ryuki.

This. The trick ought to be the final piece that makes everything click into place. It was like that in AI1, and that's how it was set up in Ever17 too. Despite being the exact same trick with the same pieces, AI2 doesn't have the click that Ever17 does, despite sacrificing a lot to set it up. It's just disappointing.

I think the major twist was not worth it. It feels like it took a lot of effort from the writer, and a lot of setup and contrivances, and when it was revealed I was more like "huh.." instead of "HOLY SHIT".

You're missing the significance of the reveal that the player is a real character AKA the Frayer, and that unbeknownst to us *the human being actually playing the game*, they're jumping to various moments in the story/messing with the simulation by using impossible information to create a tear. It's absolutely significant to the story because:
        1. Tokiko knows about the Frayer and orchestrates the HB case events for them to take advantage of so she can reach Moksha, which makes her one of the craziest villains ever.
        2. It reveals the existence of a hidden motivation for the Frayer to make this tear. One that is largely left to speculation but it is implied that the Frayer must have some plan by Tokiko's dialogue when you make the choice not to tell Ryuki. You could also assume that, since the final moment comes down to player choice, that the motivation of the Frayer mirrors what most actual human players want when playing a game: to get the good ending. So after seeing all these characters befall numerous tragedies related to the Half Body serial murder case Tearer decided to create a tear in the simulation to prevent them from happening.

But you didn't get it. The entire point is that everything matters or happened. The entire simulation theory ends up being real and is directly tied to what Naix and Tokiko's basis is. Not to mention, Ryuki's glitches create major gaps in his events and affect him and how he feels depending on your choice. It's a lot to think about it and it isn't so easy to say the Diverge Ending is a "good" one even if you are attached to everyone like myself either.

                Anonymous

No, you didn't get it. It raises ertain questions, like how did Tearer know Tokiko would give him that deal? Maybe he was simply trying to achieve Moksha for himself, thinking that could save everyone, but was ultimately being lead by Tokiko and chose to accept her deal? It's a lot to think about but the way some people are conceptualizing this is as if it's purely a U.I trick, rather than the appearance of a hidden character who's been arranging the events we've witnessed thus far. So there's a lot more going on than they're giving the game credit for. Also it feels like this aspect is set to be expanded on in further games. It felt like we only scratched the surface of it. We never got the background of where this came from and Tokiko's ambiguous dialogue during the Nil route. It basically ensures the true nature of the HB case will never be discovered and the entire cast is trapped in a fake world. Rather, in the sense of AI2's metaphor of the simulation as a game, abnormal behaviors are glitches, etc. In this metaphor the diverge ending would be the archetypical video game idea of a "good end." Since it's fair to assume a continuation of AI2's trend, relating the simulated world to gaming, viewing Frayer's potential motivation through that lens could makes sense. Considering that Frayer is the player character, and the Japanese standard for multi-ending ADVs is to try to get the "good" or "true" end by playing multiple routes, my assumption is that Frayer's goal was to get that "good end" for some reason. You're missing that.

Ryuki is a legitimate schizo. Tama said he's been having hallucinations since the death of his brother and the memory issues he was diagnosed with at the hospital were mostly problems he already had. TC-Perge just made him worse temporarily.

Not him but is that really the reason? That's kinda sad. I was hoping he was only hallucinating because of the virus. Having him suffer similar shit before and after the infection s a bit meh as it muddies things.

Ryuki was just naturally a schizo. He only gets 1 scene after getting infected which is the one where he's hounding Shoma about the ferris wheel and looking into Amame's involvement with Tearer. Basically all PERGE did was increase his delusions to the point he's reliving the past.

My understanding is that the scenes where we see Ryuki speak moonrunes is TC-PERGE acting up considering the runes have been translated and relate to Naix, the creator of the virus. Why would his innate mental issues contain that information, or make the world appear like a simulation of all things?
Is it not possible that he obtained TC-PERGE when he reinstalled Tama from Tearer? The scene in the Naix office in chapter 5 takes place shortly after he re-obtains Tama, and it's the first time we see him PERGE out in the 6 year timeline.

They literally explained how he was infected - there's a box with a device that sprays the virus on people who open the box in the underground chamber. The virus is not yet ready in the past

Ryuki's first meltdown we see happens right after viewing the QR Video which is the earliest event in the timeline. So unless he was infected pre game then gibberish text/blue NPCs is not necessarily a sign of TC-PERGE.

            Anonymous

Plot twist: TC-PERGE is a computer virus, not biological. Tearer installs it onto Tama when he takes her from Ryuki, knowing she'd eventually re-establish connection with the quantum Wadjet system and uploading the virus to it. Once the virus is uploaded to the Wadjet system, Ryuki+Tama from the past are affected by TC-PERGE via the same mechanism that the Wadjet system collects and sends out data from the different timelines. That's why Ryuki seems to have the virus as early as the Fray to Free video.

I don't think ABIS knows any of what Tama.did, or at least not the most significant things. When she reveals it to Date and the others they're in the cathedral where they can't access the system.
That said it must be suspicious that she keeps not uploading shit to the database that she's supposed to.

It was pretty decent until you unlock the true end (not the nil end) and find out the main antagonists you have been looking for all the game are already dead and all you are left with is solving Amame's revenge killing in one Somnium and a fight sequence at the stadium that goes on for much longer than it should have. Basically everything with the ending is anticlimactic compared to the first game.

There were plenty of time where he had his back completely turned to me and I'd still get caught despite him not looking back. The stealth just flat out did not work. It's fine in the first part because so long as you're moving towards the machine you need to break it'll teleport you right there. On the last stealth part is fricking miserable.

The twist means nothing to the characters cause they were aware, it's a Frayer perspective thing. Tokiko's whole plan involved caused the Frayer to Fray across the possibilities and eventually reach the nil number information to tear a huge hole in the timeline that she can escape from and Ryuki can make a happy ending from.
Obviously she's aware of how the Frayer's perception isn't linear since she breaks a glass idol in the present specifically so it can be 'fixed' by in a scene from the past. Also the timeline crosses mimic the X X hints you get from the balloons. Either Tokiko was just aware of the Frayer or actively orchestrated however it is they view the timeline.

The big thing about the swings is that timing it correctly is not enough. If you are out of phase, that is, if you are pressing left while she is swinging right, it doesn't work.

Date swapped bodies somehow again but Ryuki got his F body in a younger version due to time travel or some bullshit. I gurantee this will be the plot in AI3 .

AI3 can't do any plot without addressing the world literally being a simulation

          Anonymous

Why? Even if it is why would that be relevant? The world you're living in right now could be a simulation and that wouldn't change you still have to live in it and that life must go on.

The Frayer thing is still not resolved, though I suppose they could pull Danganronpa V3 as the guy above said and never elaborate on it

                >what is the nature of the simulation
                >what is the world outside like
                >what is Tokiko doing after Moksha
                >what consequences does the divergence have(there were some error codes on the flow chart)

                Anonymous

None of that is relevant. Like I said before If YOU were in a simulation that doesn't change you still have to live in it. The nature of outside the simulation doesn't matter.

                Anonymous

It's relevant because you figuratively can't have a game that in the end turns out to be focused on breaking out of the simulation and then never mention it again in a sequel.

                Anonymous

I don't want to know that, I like staying in the simulation because it's not like the characters care. they're happy

                >character mentions his brother and hating broken clocks constantly
                >literally nothing is done with this
Frick off Uchikoshi you talentless nip.

he hates broken clocks because the truck that crushed half his brother broke his watch. it's a red herring made to deceive you about the timeline, because it happened 6 years prior to the past, so Ryuki could reference 6 years ago in the present without you questioning it

I guess we have our own Danganronpa V3 episode right here, for frick's sake

I don't see the connection, V3 never got a sequel so there's no burden to show what happens after DR ends and they leave the dome. An AI3 not addressing the simulation stuff would be even more ridiculous than a 4th DR not addressing V3 since we've found a very fundamental piece of lore on the AI world.

My opinion IRL is that if we are just all programs and it's a simulation I don't give a shit and it's real enough to me, not like you can escape if you're just code. But in AI Naix specifically says they have "real bodies" outside of the simulation. Which would mean this is more of a Matrix like scenario than them being video game characters in canon. Considering that Tokiko does escape and is right about everything else, it seems reasonable to assume she's correct and there is another more real world for them to live in which is pretty fricking relevant.

              >But in AI Naix specifically says they have "real bodies" outside of the simulation
They literally don't and can't know this for sure. Don't take everything the cults say as fact.

                >They literally don't
They do. Uru talks about this.
                >and can't know this for sure. Don't take everything the cults say as fact.
Considering that they were right about everything else, Tokiko knew exactly what the Frayer was doing, and Tokiko managed to ascend+tear a hole in the timeline I'm pretty sure their info is sound.

                >Uru talks about this.
Them SAYING they have outside bodies doesn't mean this is true. Knowing you're in a simulation and breaking the bounds of it doesn't mean you're escaping to the real world.

          Yes it can.

Any suggestions if I just want escape rooms and don't care about the VN part?

It legit might only be Zero Escape and "Your Turn to Die" to a degree. There's a few Western games that are VR.

AI1 was so much better, it’s actually infuriating. All the character development for Date, Mizuki and Iris is just down the drain. Le epic twists were all garbage. Kizuna, Lien, Gen, and Ryuki are non-characters that can be summed up in two words each. Imagine paying $60 for this.

Does Bibi not tell Date that Ryuki shot her? He's obviously suspicious of Ryuki the whole 5th day but he uses Ryuki's slip about Tearer's mask as the reason to voice his suspicions instead of the fact that well, he shot Bibi.

Speaking of Bibi, did Date ever interact with her while she was appearing as "Mizuki" I may just be slow but still confused about that.
