I like Ryuki. His schizo antics are fun and I like how his perfectionism weighs on him mentally and he gets depressed over his frick ups. I do like Mizuki and Date more than him individually but I still prefer Ryuki/Tama as a relationship. Their role reversal between irl and the somniums is fun(her being more dominant irl, and him messing with her more in the somniums)and Tama constantly worrying about his mental state but compromising when he asks her to let him push himself because she knows he'll be more miserable otherwise was something I really liked.
More than anything though I loved that once you know the twist and go back to see the timeline in order you realize he's talking about Tama here and all the other little things on the 15th(him being stressed out, asking how she is, the awkward convo with Date, Mama saying she's his most important person, their entire conversation in the car)are all because he's about to betray Date to protect her, meanwhile Tama's not aware of any of this because she has no memory of them meeting Tearer in the cathedral. Everything about it and the way it's revealed is really sweet,
It's great that on first read you think their relationship is kind of one-sided but then it turns out he cares a frick ton about her and even moved entirely for her sake without you realizing.
Interesting
I thought pic related was a joke about Ryuki mancrush
But now taking what happen day before into context
He was actually worried about whether Date is suspicious of him
Explains why he looks so distressed

He can say whatever he wants as long as their relationship carries over to the third game
He's very obsessed with Date, and does say he loves him, but that's arguably just pure respectful love. He's at least into women, he's just nowhere near as open about it as... Literally everybody else who is.
I would dare to say Ryuki seems far more attached to Date than either of Aiba or Mizuki in this game. Which is just a very questionable writing choice all around.
Like, Aiba and Date butted heads a lot, but Aiba seems outright hostile to him in this one from the few snippets we see. Mizuki just kinda... Treats him like he's just there. Doesn't even seem to care he's her adoptive dad.
I mean it makes perfect sense. Ryuki only sees Date in a work setting when he has to be his most presentable. He doesn't have to deal with Date in his home life.
It's actually kinda remarkable how professional Date actually is when you compare him to Mizuki and Ryuki. Like, yeah, he's a horndog goofball, but he's pretty good at keeping focused on the case except in the Iris route.
Like, Aiba and Date butted heads a lot, but Aiba seems outright hostile to him in this one from the few snippets we see. Mizuki just kinda... Treats him like he's just there. Doesn't even seem to care he's her adoptive dad.
I imagine they made Aiba and Mizuki more annoyed by Date to counter Ryuki and everyone else that knows him thinking he's the coolest guy. It's too bad, since the scenes showing Aiba/Date or Mizuki/Date caring for one another despite always bickering over stupid shit was one of the things that made their relation more endearing in the first game. There's nothing like that in this one which makes their character relations feel a lot weaker overall
Yeah, there were a few moments which are meant to be touching, but Date going walkabout for 6 years didn't have anywhere near the emotional payoff from either of them when he does reappear than I was expecting. People need to bully Uchikoshi for being a hack over this in particular.
Aiba giving almost zero shits seeing him again after 6 years felt inconsistent with stuff like this from 1

And the few interactions in the 6 years ago time suggested she was barely holding herself back from fricking exploding inside of him. It seemed really off that she's so flippant about him.
>he's just nowhere near as open about it as... Literally everybody else who is
he spent the whole game being crazy from several things, in hindsight he had no opportunities to be thirsty
>Date in likes section of his profile >Entire psync on Mizuki side is exclusively about how he admires and is obsessed with Date >the “physical relationship” joke >The “I love him” which was ambiguous in both English and JP
It can be read as intense fanboy admiration or an actual crush, sure, but either way you have to be intentionally stupid to not notice how Uchi is making it ambiguous on purpose
Has anyone ever attempted to reload thousands of saves in order to get the nil number before you’re suppose to? I wonder if it even works without you getting to the certain point.
Just finished the whole thing. Not sure how I feel about the twist. On the one hand, there were points in the story where it felt like I was having a stroke (like the Mizuki sequence in the abandoned factory), which led me to thinking that something along those lines was being done with the narrative, but on the other hand, it once again relies on some major contrivances in order to really work (e.g., certain characters don't age or change appearance/clothes at all over the course of 6 fricking years), which isn't new for Uchikoshi's bullshit, but it's still cheap writing. I also cannot be fricked to actually check to see if there aren't any major inconsistencies in either line.
Overall, though, it was a fun romp like the last one, although I think it's a little worse in regards to the particular character stories and how each person slots into the overall narrative (there a lot more superfluous cast members in this one).
Ai1 definitely my favorite of Uchi's work. But that's because it has really good character interactions so if you prefer plot and tension like in DR or ZE definitely has a lot less.
But to be honest, jap games usually do an awful job with characters so this really makes AI1 stick out.KWPTG
Just finished. I'd say overall it's about the same quality as the first, but I appreciate the few somnium gimmicks and better QTEs. Still could've used more variety in the early somniums, and any variety at all in the VR investigation parts, but it was a solid sequel
It's real and in the Japanese version. Uchikoshi retroactively made one the Zero Escape dudes bi as well, I think it was Santa? He's been compromised for a while because he only talks to fans on Twitter.
Well, Uchikoshi himself isn't married... Maybe he's a closet case himself and projecting. Considering his fanbase is primarily western it is a viable marketing tactic nonetheless to get word of mouth moving.
How long would it take for a bot to bruteforce all the possible combinations? I'm guessing it'd be impractical so it probably hasn't been accounted for.
Is it even possible to bruteforce the nil number? Even if you had enough time to try any combination, all of them may be wrong because the game doesn't generate the number until the very end.
>Boss brings on the mentally unstable Ryuki >Gives Date his job at Abyss after he loses his memory >Mizuki gets a sympathy job as-well (although she doesn't really need it). >Fricking adopts a girl with a congenital heart defect AND employs her secretly to top it all off.
Abyss is basically her own personal charity organisation at this point.
Did anyone else not like this game as much as the first one?
Maybe I just dislike when Uchikoshi's ideas get too far out there since I feel the same way with 999 being better than its sequel.
agreed Ai1 is better but ironically I actually liked VLR better than 999. It's not the far out there shit as much as the character interactions suffer for it. In VLR I think the AB game just made the character stuff a little more interesting to me but admittedly 999 is just more well built.
VLR suffers a lot from pacing issues IF you pick a bad initial path. Or at least thats my observation from playing it and loving it, then watching other people play it on streams and seeing the mixed reactions online.
If you play VLR in an optimal order, it's great. But I've seen some playthroughs where its just awful if you pick a handful of routes that lock or end early.
that seems to be the common complaint. it definitely ups the stakes (conspiracy theories but real, world ending groups) compared to AI1 that is very grounded despite it's sci-fi elements some people may be put off by that.
even the murder's themselves are more outlandish
AI1 killer may prop the corpses up to taunt date but the actual killing are nothing special, the characters and the players have no problem understanding how they died even if the context as to why they were killed is hidden.
AI2 Killer uses some machine capable of slicing people in perfect halfs, how they did it is not something the player or the characters can easily figure out from how crazy it is.
Lien started off way worse with the "love at first sight" thing but quickly became one of the biggest chads in the game. Mizuki telling him that he acts exactly the same on the inside as he does on the outside after his Somnium was a nice scene.
I also love how when you bring him along to the Naix cathedral after he tries to drop lockpicking and he's like "look do whatever you need to do I don't wanna even fricking know" and intentionally avoids information so as to not get caught up in more bullshit
Besides the final thing with Tokiko, is there anything you'd miss if you skipped Ryuki and Komeji's routes and immediately put in the two names to get to Mizuki's route the moment you got the game?
There's something that bugged me about AI2 that is related to AI1.
Wasn't Saito's brain all fricked up? So when Date was living in Saito's body it caused Date to be a total pervert. So when AI2 comes around he's in his original body with a Saito mask but he still does the same perverted stuff. Is this meta shit to avoid AI1 spoilers, or is there something else I'm missing
theres two hidden pieces of dialogue at the end of AI, during the final scene at the docks when its zoomed in onto Aiba, if you examine the crane and crate real body Date talks about porno mags and lifting Iris's skirt with the crane.
Date was always a coomer. Constant serotonin flow just made him a goofy coomer. But really, Uchi doesn't really care about chemistry and brain functions. He, at least in AI, thinks that soul is a matter, and carries your personality within that very matter. Just like Saito not changing by his hosts is a pure bullshit. We're very dependent on the body we inhabit. Not only our thoughts make us who we are, but also our genes and hormones - that includes various, unique to each person, traits of our brain.
Actually the in-game script (one of the internal thought lines) calls him Maruko, so chances are that's his proper name and Marco is a derivative of that since it's what everyone calls him otherwise
Oh okay, weird.
Wonder if they'll fix all the technical issues the game has like the model warp glitches, MSAA being set to 0 and FMVs being bitcrushed

I have to wonder why they compressed the shit out of the videos, it's not like there are many.
At least leave the ones you'll see dozens of times serviceable.
Maruko and Marco are written the same way in Japanese. The screenshot I posted is from concept art, which proves that the spelling is indeed Marco. "Maruko" is just one of numerous typos in the game.
So what's the deal with these models? I haven't played the game. Can people interact with them or are they like Megaman Battle Network navis, stuck completely in the virtual world?

I have so many questions about this game regarding all the plotholes and arbitrary bullshit but I can't comprehend these two Why did the b***h want to kill herself
and why did she ask Amame to move her body
why would Amame fulfil her wish even post mortem
>Why did the b***h want to kill herself >and why did she ask Amame to move her body So Frayer would have incentive to investigate her room and find the nil number and let her T-pose out of reality in different timeline. >why would Amame fulfil her wish even post mortem This is spelled out in the game. Her subordinate would report Amame to the police.
She does it to bait (You) into doing what she wants. It's essentially a ploy to go: "You want answers? Too bad I'm dead, better go back to 6 years ago and tell me the nihil number so you can get them." At least that's my read on the situation.
Frick I didn't even realize this until you mentioned it, I remember it was weird that they mentioned nobody in his family had a terminal illness and forgot about it
Also when Mizuki is talking to Shoma about a younger person more important than their life she's talking about younger Mizuki since we're playing as Bibi during that which I didn't catch my first time around
Ryuki should have stayed dead in Resolution end. That way, it makes Diverge a little more meaningful as an alternative outcome where HB case is solved AND he's alive.
Not that anon but if anything I feel like it wasn't dramatic enough. It was obvious he was going to survive because him getting shot just felt like a footnote to that entire scenario. They glossed over it too easily for me to believe one of the focus characters would die. If they did a scene after the explosion where everyone was worried and watching him bleed out or something then it may have caught me.
Someone posted a screenshot mentioning the Rhyzome buildings from VLR in one of the threads, which gave me a horrible, terrible thought: Uchikoshi is just enough of a hack to make the 'simulated world' of the AIverse the fricking quantum computer simulation that the Sean AI is in from ZTD.
I was okay with everything until that last psync. Why would you do this? This ending was so lame. It feels like it was giant joke so what can you really say? I'm not sure if there's a reason to ask anything at this point but here goes:
What were Tearer and Tokiko doing at the abandoned factory? I'm pretty sure they didn't use the psync machine. I was expecting them to body jump into Amame. It would have completed the parallels with the first game.
How the frick did we psync into Tearer through the mask? I thought you had to remove the eyes and then put them back.
Amame was one Ryuki saw in the cathedral right? Why was she blue?
I still don't understand what Amame was doing with Naix the first place. I get that she was being blackmailed for killing Uru but what about before that? I feel like I missed something obvious.
Anyways, cool game. I liked Liquid and Solid Mizuki. Ryuki was cool too. But that ending... I don't know how to feel about this.
>spoiler #2
that bugged me too. completely unexplained, Date could've made an offhand comment about how it got upgraded so nobody else would lose an eye and we wouldn't care. weird that they didn't remove the bombs...

I genuinely can't understand what you're trying to accomplish by making shit up. You know you're lying, everyone who's played the game knows you're lying, so what's the point? Even if you make someone second guess themselves it takes 30 seconds to boot the game up and check the scene.

why would two completely different people sound completely different.

So what I'm getting at after reading the whole thing about 6 captives is
>Iris and five others are Frayers which allows them to see and observe info between worlds or some shit
>This explains Iris's random bullshit being right (Knowing about Naix, and immortality) this means her saying the wadjet system wants to expand across the universe, she could have been actually meaning timelines.
>If that is the case the Wadjet system works similar to Delta's computer in ZTD and can at times transfer info rather than SHIFT and that explains weird shit never being explained like, Date remembering stuff that was said in the Iris route in the epilogue, Ryuki remembering "Dahlia" despite never hearing that name in that timeline, Date's somnia appearing in mizuki's memories during the reverse psync even though that happened in Mizuki route and lastly Miziku and Bibi being able to remember the last fight happening but not completely in the Frayer golden ending
I agree that Wadjet seems to be a quantum computer capable of receiving and sharing information from all the different timelines. My running theory for the series end game is basically Shoma lives to be 600 years old. He uses his genius and advanced future tech to make the Wadjet system to help humanity, and his friends back in Ai1&2. Wadjet system is essentially a "logical" explanation for the morphogenic field, as long as humans can access the information stored on it. But how did early humans do such a thing without the help of advanced AIs like Aiba? Turns out Wadjet is also a mass-psync machine, allowing Aiba to psync into anyone on the planet, or even into the shared collective unconscious itself. This allows her to act as humanity's guardian by sharing important and sometimes impossible information via dreams, visions, etc. (as psync'd targets often perceive the experience)
I finished the game. I thought the mystery seemed pretty straightforward compared to the first game until the flowchart changed. I like how this retroactively made things more complex than they seemed at first.
And I really liked the spooky, conspiratorial plot. The videos in particular were the exact type of creepy "weird side of Youtube" thing that you'd see in real life, with people theorizing about what it means, like how it might lead to a cult, or be related to a murder. They also reminded me of this.
And the nil number thing was really creepy and cool. That scene where Tokiko speaks directly to the player was a huge wtf moment early in the game, and I was thinking about when I'd find that number throughout my the entire playthrough. I kinda wish there was a similar alternate ending where the rocket successfully takes off, eventually causing reality to unravel. I was half expecting things to turn into Gravity's Rainbow towards the end there.
just a random thought but in the reveal trailer for Nirvana initiative mizuki doesn't have her leg scar which means that the mizuki show is actually bibi.
Also my headcanon for the 999 somnium is that Mizuki was playing the game and fell asleep and ended up dreaming about it, forcing aiba into the room.
>400+ million views >mfw listening to the song
How the hell have I not seen any memes or even seen it in my youtube recommendations? Bless you anon, the song is gonna be stuck in my mind for a while
what do you mean? it's already slightly lost in translation, the original fricking song is precisely a japanese song so of fricking course it's still a meme there, and even the animations line up
In AI1, from what I remember they established that only Aiba changed when entering somniums, date remained the same. So it felt weird that Ryuki seemed to get a personality change when he psynced. Also there are a couple changes I can point out with Tama (ryuki too) in the somniums but they were so inconsistent that it was kinda hard to quantify what was different about them. Aiba also seemed to have gotten more dumb in the normal world and less dumb in the somniums than in AI1. Idk felt a bit off. Seems like a sequel issue

I payed full price and I didn't feel gypped despite having a lot of issues with the game, but others may disagree. I got almost 30 hours out of it and had a reasonable time.
It's on everything, gamepass and people knew about the 1st game well enough to buy it again. It'll do well and we will finally get the sequel, LGBTQIA2S+!
I was joking, I feel if that happens we will get unbearable shitposting, I'm surprised we managed to discuss spoilers with the whole troony webm that got spammed for a while.
I just ignore the troony spammers and they tend to get bored after a while. They're just another form of troll. Don't feed them and they lose interest.
The first game sold 300k on Steam alone, the series is doing very well, way better than Zero Escape ever did, it's the closest thing Spike Chunsoft has to Danganronpa level of success.
Gen's somnium was more emotional than Shoma and Komeji's route which felt like a retread of Ota's route in 1. Gen talking about how he doesn't feel like he's allowed to exist during his Somnium and later when in the Gen/Amame route when he's dying and curses God in his head for making him the way he is then verbally saying he's grateful to God for letting him meet Amame hit a lot harder than I expected it to and Gen's probably my favorite new character from AI2. Also the theme song for Brahman was catchy and I hope we go back there.
>>Gen's somnium was more emotional than Shoma and Komeji's route which felt like a retread of Ota's route in 1.
It's not really the same besides the common theme of familial bonds. Ota was a deadbeat with senile parents. Shoma was a bullied kid with a dad he struggled to love. In a way Ota route hits harder, because it makes you think about your own relationships with your parents, while with Shoma, you just feel bad for him. Komeji himself is the main linchpin of his route. He's a man who pursued his dreams and greatly paid for it. He represent common fears of modern man. It's really heartbreaking when you realize that the route where you choose to focus on his wrongdoings instead of his desire to protect his son is the "canon" one, where he's brutally murdered.
uchikoshi meatriders are something else
I sort of liked the first one but the musical tier shit made me refund
Just play the game in japanese so you don't get convulsions the moment you hear the en translation travesty.
Sure the original version of the song still has lyrics that are denpa-tier but at least it actually sounds like a song and is pleasant to actually listen to.
I mean, I don't envy the localizers' task to try and fit the same meaning into a set rhythm and meter but I don't have to suffer through what they shat out either. Every single english song in the franchise is struggling to fit square words in round bars and just end up clunky as frick.
I still don't think anything in 2 hit as hard as this scene did. I still remember getting to that part in her Somnium and going "oh frick"
>tfw Date pushes her away the first two times and tells her to go back to her parents >tfw "IT HAS TO BE YOU, DATE"
yes i cried and i am not even remotely ashamed to admit that fact
https://steamspy.com/app/1449200
Steamspy estimates the sales as 50k-100k on Steam
PS4 and Switch probably sold more or matched that
so that 100-200k figure sounds logical
even if PS4 and Switch sold around half the median of the Steam version, it'd still make up to around 150k units.
the Switch CEs sold out like crazy and didn't have any supply issues like the PS4 version.
you also have to remember that this is a 60/70USD game, so the fact that it's selling so much this quickly is good
Why is that? I know they liked Ever17, but almost every game since then sells like shit over there even though they don't feel that different from a lot of other mystery VNs that are popular there.
Did he say something controversial in the past that made the Japs hate him or what?

no his games just dont appeal to the japanese audience and somehow appeal to the non japanese audience. its an anomaly.
why do you think Uchi only uses his Japanese twitter once a month, only interacts on his English twitter and only talks about and interacts with the English VAs? cuz theyre the only ones who care. they constantly talk about how fun AI was to record and how amazing he is.
the man got Iris's English Actor to cosplay as Iris and Dance at an AI panel because he cares so much about the English fanbase

It's good that he realized his errors with ZTD and has stuck to keeping games feeling Japanese, because that's precisely why his audience loves his games.

Japanese market is way more saturated with mystery vns that never get translated to english. Harder to stand out especially when there's less (You) romance pandering in his games, which is something the japs love.
it's not like there's anything stopping the japanese from buying the steam version

Yeah, it's not like Japanese hate his games, he's just obscure there. Bunch of Japanese artists I follow have talked about AI2, but they all bought it on Steam, which is really surprising to me, honestly. PC rose in popularity really rapidly in Japan. Was it caused by PS5's flop?

Yeah, i've actually seen a decent amount of japanese fanart for this game already
The Masked Woman’s somnium is really fricking with me. I hate stealth shit.

I'm more inclined to think that's because of Apex Legends being the battle royale to blow up in Japan for some reason, and maybe some slight vtuber/streamer influence. PS5 flopping should only cause people to jump ship to Switch
I think mystery VNs also were always PC-based with console ports later so it's just natural for the audience to flock back after 999 and VLR if you ask me

Switch has always been popular in Japan. I do believe PS5 flopping and Vtubers emerging caused the rise of PC, as people wanted higher resolution games.
Personally, I wish Uchikoshi would stick to one-off games. One of the biggest issues with his sequels is that he tends to warp the previous games in order to fit the next game, which makes the game feel like it's making silly retcons.
That said, it's also weird that Tokiko ultimately wins. She setup everything so perfectly that there was no way for her to lose, assuming that her simulation theory was true. Most of the other villains that end up 'winning' end up doing so because they were doing it for a greater cause or whatever but not Tokiko.
she's the greater scope villian, she wasn't the main focus, her winning only matters to her on the divergent timeline, on the resolution timeline it's ambigious to say the least
She won on both timelines. In the resolution timeline either Tearer won, fired off the missile and caused the system to freak out with PURGE or the heroes won, allowing her to give them the nil number and transfer it back to her.
As she said the entire thing was setup to attract the attention of a Frayer if it existed.
>spoiler toggle to not spoil first game >my name is Mizuki Date, I got adopted >my parents are gone >prototype psync machine in factory >bullet hole in leg from "3 months ago"
they really said they wouldn't spoil the first game then proceeded to spoil the first game even with the spoilers disabled
yeah that was weird to me. it feels like Spike demanded Uchikoshi make it accessible to newcomers so he came up with that cheap option that barely did anything to satisfy them
I don't know what is happening with my old buddy labtop machine here, but modern games like Master Duel and AI 2 are killing my battery, even plugged.
I have it since 2014, should I get a new battery? nirvanA Initiative plays fine, except for this problem.
I have two questions, but I'm only up to The start of Mizuki's route.
1. Was the termFrayerever mentioned in the first game off handedly or am I misremembering? It sounds like something Iris would spit out when she goes all theory-mode.
2. When (You)are asked aboutbeing a Frayer by Tokiko in Ryuki's route, does it have any long lasting consequences or does it merely change her response in that scene? I chose "I am not" btw.
it's not like they followed up on everything Iris said in the first game
Frayer is just a japanese pun on Player
and finish the game right now before you come back
I assume that guy was misremembering but he's right in how the game does explain it and given how it's a non-optional thing it does sound like
>spoiler #2
that bugged me too. completely unexplained, Date could've made an offhand comment about how it got upgraded so nobody else would lose an eye and we wouldn't care. weird that they didn't remove the bombs...
and
I was okay with everything until that last psync.
I don't know how to feel about this.
only watched a stream or something. That one or both of them is now shitting up the thread with their inane crap just makes it feel like they're mad about being called out.
>entire thread goes to shit because of one butthurt moron who would rather whine about how the game doesn't explain things and shitpost than look at the part of the game that explains things
wow
you play as a detective with an AI partner. The ai has cool mechanics that make investigation easier. When people you question you don't wanna speak you usually investigate in a dream world to find the truth.
>Chikara somnium final combination >very first thing I try is NA IX >ERROR >spend 30 minutes save scumming every other option/looking for more halves because I'm about to run out of time >think I missed something earlier and redo the entire somnium >again nothing works >lower difficulty and try NA IX for the 50th time >it works
I swear on both Mizukis' hymens
He'll (assumedly) end up enjoying AI1 because it's the most well constructed narrative out of the four games and is far less insane. He hated VLR because of the major inconsistencies/contrivances and the characters acting extremely dumb.
honestly I think I like Tama better than Aiba even, and I LOVED Aiba in the first game. Wish we got more Tama this game, but maybe we'll get a third. Anyway, game was cool, slightly better than the first one but the finale wasn't as strong as the first one. The twist took me a few minutes to understand because I'm fricking moronic.
It has as much stupid shit as AI2 and for some reason it gets the most praise out of Kotaros' games? That always baffled me. On top of that the game is a slog half the time plus locks your progress a "to be continues" every hour which completely ruins the pace. Also 999 is his best and moust grounded work
Yeah but Saito is just some opportunistic psycho. There's nowhere else for his story to go. Uru is a super genius that knows how to game quantum mechanics, and it's arguable that he ultimately wins in the end considering he tricks the Frayer into sending his dear mother to moksha. I don't think it's coincidence he also escapes death in the end in which his grand plan comes to fruition.
Multiple timelines, my friend. Though you might've forgotten, there's always a reality in which you did remember. The important thing is that all the conditions were met to make such a reality a possibility in the first place.
Why do so many people buy this obvious weeb game from fricking Spike Chunsoft who develop weebshit written by goddamn Uchikoshi of all people and then act offended that it has anime tropes and dialogue? What the frick?

What do you think it'd be like if Date met Tokiko?
That'd be a funny interaction
He'd probably buy into it just to find the material they have on the outside
We should just make a general at this point. THINJ about the shitposting
I liked them so much more than I thought I would. Maybe my favorite of the duos.
They deserved more screentime.
How? Ryuki is so terrible
I completely forgot about this scene. I love these two.
I recommend rereading the whole Ryuki 15th day really. There are so many moments made great once you have the context.
I was going to do a Jp playthrough next to see the original jokes, and now I have something else to look forward to. Thanks anon!
Interesting
I thought pic related was a joke about Ryuki mancrush
But now taking what happen day before into context
He was actually worried about whether Date is suspicious of him
Explains why he looks so distressed
>the scene everyone thought was gay was actually a man about to betray his bro for his waifu
My sides.
Uchi's 9d chess
Now if only they'd actually realize that
Eh after more people replay the game in order the info will probably spread.
Bold of you to assume fujos actually play games.
Ok you got me there.
Don't forget actual homosexuals too
Those actual homosexuals are usually male to ~~*female*~~
Not that it matters because in two weeks twitter will ask Uchi if Ryuki is gay and Uchi will probably answers Yes or Maybe 😉 not to upset his target audience
He can say whatever he wants as long as their relationship carries over to the third game
Nice catch
>that screenshot
Jesus, Tama would've overheat if she knew the context.
>tfw the best part about the game is ryuki and tama
Otagay should do us a favor and make tamaXryuki commissions instead.

It's ok to be moronic, anon
What sign do you see between the numbers, genius-tachi?
Ffs I thought "combining" meant adding, not multiplying.
>twitter believe this is the thoughts of a gay man
I've actually seen people claim these interactions don't mean anything because they're optional/you have to click around to see them
Playing the game is optional too, you can just close it and do something else
Jesus, do Twitter Black folk actually?
If you don't touch every little thing you miss out on like 1/4 of the game.
He's very obsessed with Date, and does say he loves him, but that's arguably just pure respectful love. He's at least into women, he's just nowhere near as open about it as... Literally everybody else who is.
Honestly Ryuki coming off as gay to people because of everyone else being too horny and him just being normal is very funny.
I would dare to say Ryuki seems far more attached to Date than either of Aiba or Mizuki in this game. Which is just a very questionable writing choice all around.
They're just tsundere
That art but with ryuki
I still align with him being bi but who knows. People who say he's completely gay are smoothbrains though
homie how he says nothing even vaguely gay.
>Date in likes section of his profile
>Entire psync on Mizuki side is exclusively about how he admires and is obsessed with Date
>the “physical relationship” joke
>The “I love him” which was ambiguous in both English and JP
It can be read as intense fanboy admiration or an actual crush, sure, but either way you have to be intentionally stupid to not notice how Uchi is making it ambiguous on purpose
Fujo get the frick out to your containment sites.
Has anyone ever attempted to reload thousands of saves in order to get the nil number before you’re suppose to? I wonder if it even works without you getting to the certain point.
You will never head deadpan emotionless sex with Tokiko
🙁
so where is the statue of liberty actually located?
Ellis Island.
TL;DR Yeah, I enjoyed it.

The game is made for sjw Virtue signaling Black folk
Red eyes is my fetish, but Tama's not my type of girl. Sad.

Absolutely play the first game. Second is pretty good too.

First game is 8 bux, just buy it
Only if you enjoy slurping down troon propaganda.
How good is the first game compared to stuff like the Zero Escape games and Danganronpa? Just saw it's 80% off on the Steam sale, so I might get it.
I'd say better that Dangan, but slightly worse than Zero Escape. Still very fun though
Just ranking it against ZE, I'd probably rank them something like:
999>AI>VLR=AI2>>>>>>ZTD
Ai1 definitely my favorite of Uchi's work. But that's because it has really good character interactions so if you prefer plot and tension like in DR or ZE definitely has a lot less.
But to be honest, jap games usually do an awful job with characters so this really makes AI1 stick out.KWPTG
Why does Aiba have the head of a grown woman and the body of a girl

Just finished. I'd say overall it's about the same quality as the first, but I appreciate the few somnium gimmicks and better QTEs. Still could've used more variety in the early somniums, and any variety at all in the VR investigation parts, but it was a solid sequel
Will Shoma ever get dominated by the Twozukis in that ferris wheel...?

This isn't real right?
It's real and in the Japanese version. Uchikoshi retroactively made one the Zero Escape dudes bi as well, I think it was Santa? He's been compromised for a while because he only talks to fans on Twitter.
Why is it always the male characters?
Well, Uchikoshi himself isn't married... Maybe he's a closet case himself and projecting. Considering his fanbase is primarily western it is a viable marketing tactic nonetheless to get word of mouth moving.
Because all women are naturally bisexual
Suda did something similar in an AMA or something. Majority western fan bases are a curse for Eastern developers.

He's going to call you a piece of shit liar because the number is different for everyone.
Won't work. It's different for everyone.
rip anon he's gonna be mad now
Wait, so... you guys think there's a hidden scene if someone managed to guess the code on a fresh save? Uchi wouldn't, right?
No, 3 anons already told you it doesn't work that way fricking moron. Make that 4.
Well, the chance is only 1/10^6, so good luck with that.
How long would it take for a bot to bruteforce all the possible combinations? I'm guessing it'd be impractical so it probably hasn't been accounted for.
>randomly guess from 1000000 possible combinations
>doing what the Creator didn't account for
you'll reach Moksha, anon
Is it even possible to bruteforce the nil number? Even if you had enough time to try any combination, all of them may be wrong because the game doesn't generate the number until the very end.
>Boss brings on the mentally unstable Ryuki
>Gives Date his job at Abyss after he loses his memory

Abyss is basically her own personal charity organisation at this point.
Didn't mean to reply to that anon.
troony game
What's the number at the end of the game for?
Go back to your first meeting with Tokiko
Do you mean in Ryuki's route?
Yes

this game sucks balls but i would enjoy fertilizing aiba's virtual womb

Who is more cringe, Ota in 1 or Lien in 2?
Ota is cringe but he's supposed to be cringe and pathetic. Lien is supposed to be heroic from the start so Lien is far more cringe.
Ota is cringe
Lien isn't
There is nothing cringe about Lien
Lien is red-herring cringe where he becomes an utter chad after the first two or so interactions
Him picking Kizuna up for the dance warmed my heart
Half of the fricking game?
Just look up the credits on youtube if you want to see it that badly.
you cant finish it. theres a plot lock that requires Explosion/Shoma and Komeji/Kizuna and Lien/Gen and Amame endings to get past the lock
Oh so the game checks and it's not just a knowledge check then? Got it.
Lien doesn't really make me cringe, he's just a whacky frick.
I'm playing in Japanese though
There's something that bugged me about AI2 that is related to AI1.
Wasn't Saito's brain all fricked up? So when Date was living in Saito's body it caused Date to be a total pervert. So when AI2 comes around he's in his original body with a Saito mask but he still does the same perverted stuff. Is this meta shit to avoid AI1 spoilers, or is there something else I'm missing
Date is just a huge coomer
Date's just a degenerate.
I think there are some hints at the end of AI which indicate that Falco was also a massive pervert.
There's one in this one too
theres two hidden pieces of dialogue at the end of AI, during the final scene at the docks when its zoomed in onto Aiba, if you examine the crane and crate real body Date talks about porno mags and lifting Iris's skirt with the crane.
At the end of the first game, when you examine Hitomi's shoe locker, she mentions how Falco sniffed it.

Bibi > Mizuki
I wanted to hear Maruko speak at least once.
It's Marco.
Actually the in-game script (one of the internal thought lines) calls him Maruko, so chances are that's his proper name and Marco is a derivative of that since it's what everyone calls him otherwise
They wrote that it was a typo and will fix it soon
Oh okay, weird.
Wonder if they'll fix all the technical issues the game has like the model warp glitches, MSAA being set to 0 and FMVs being bitcrushed
I have to wonder why they compressed the shit out of the videos, it's not like there are many.
At least leave the ones you'll see dozens of times serviceable.
Maruko and Marco are written the same way in Japanese. The screenshot I posted is from concept art, which proves that the spelling is indeed Marco. "Maruko" is just one of numerous typos in the game.
surprised there's no porn of this
chibi Aiba > chibi Tama
shortstack vibes.
So what's the deal with these models? I haven't played the game. Can people interact with them or are they like Megaman Battle Network navis, stuck completely in the virtual world?
The chibi models are physical. They're just the AI-Balls floating in a weird jelly substance.
>slime girl shortstack
She's an eye that when she leaves the eye sock, she has this jelly substance to walk around
Imagine shoving a steel pipe into Mizuki's slit!
they have to be really careful, otherwise they'll end up destroying the entire room
I have so many questions about this game regarding all the plotholes and arbitrary bullshit but I can't comprehend these two
Why did the b***h want to kill herself
and why did she ask Amame to move her body
why would Amame fulfil her wish even post mortem
>Why did the b***h want to kill herself
>and why did she ask Amame to move her body
So Frayer would have incentive to investigate her room and find the nil number and let her T-pose out of reality in different timeline.
>why would Amame fulfil her wish even post mortem
This is spelled out in the game. Her subordinate would report Amame to the police.
She does it to bait (You) into doing what she wants. It's essentially a ploy to go: "You want answers? Too bad I'm dead, better go back to 6 years ago and tell me the nihil number so you can get them." At least that's my read on the situation.
Kizuna x Lien x Mizuki x Bibi
>leaving Shoma out
Does the guy have any chance? It's been 6 years but there hasn't been any progress.
Man didn't even hit puberty yet
i miss aiba and date team
is aiba wearing a shirt or is it part of her body
Anyone got the screenshot of Pewter saying IT'S PSYNCING TIME ?
Ooooooh, Riichi sponsored Horadori Institute to cure Mizuki's heart illness.
Nah. He was treated like shit in Mizuki's route and had almost no screentime.
His "death" was way too melodramatic to ever be believable.
You're right but I also mean in how Date and Ryuki go way too hard on the cliche dialogue and dramatic emotional reads so it just feels satirical
Too many American references by now. AI3 will be set in New York.
I feel like Date would've solved the case way faster than we did if he actually had Aiba.
ABIS are jobbers
how many scenes do we actually see Date disguising as Gen in? before the reveal
Someone posted a screenshot mentioning the Rhyzome buildings from VLR in one of the threads, which gave me a horrible, terrible thought:
Uchikoshi is just enough of a hack to make the 'simulated world' of the AIverse the fricking quantum computer simulation that the Sean AI is in from ZTD.
it was just a joke answer for one of the questions. Mizuki even mentions 999 and theres even a poster for 999 The Movie as a gag in Mama's bar
It's only "just a joke" right up until it isn't.
AiNi kind of spoils ZTD, one of the cosmetic unlockables is called "Sean's Mask"
ackshually...
What do girls say about Qmask?
Tama says it makes her feel like she's gonna forget her name.
Aiba says it makes her want to make life changing decisions.
I don't know how to feel about this.
>spoiler #2
that bugged me too. completely unexplained, Date could've made an offhand comment about how it got upgraded so nobody else would lose an eye and we wouldn't care. weird that they didn't remove the bombs...
they did explain it, moron
maybe actually play the game instead of watching vtubers skip all the side dialogue
do streamers really play VNs
that sounds like a miserable viewing experience
Only ddlc, zero escape, AA, danganronpa and AI
When am I getting a streamer to read the full Muv-Luv trilogy...
if they explained it then what did they say, moron?
I didn't "skip" any dialogue, I just probably didn't find the obscure item in the room to trigger a random conversation about something. the pixel hunt to pull out extra dialogue isn't something I look forward to
>I didn't "skip" any dialogue, I just probably didn't find the obscure item in the room

maybe actually play the game instead of watching vtubers skip all the side dialogue

what the frick are you talking about
You didn't play the game. You watched a stream and the streamer made it up.
You didn't play the game. You watched a stream and the streamer made it up.
I genuinely can't understand what you're trying to accomplish by making shit up. You know you're lying, everyone who's played the game knows you're lying, so what's the point? Even if you make someone second guess themselves it takes 30 seconds to boot the game up and check the scene.
It's in the files, dumbass.
It's in appendix 82 which isn't even optional.
It really does sound like you just watched some streamer who never read any of the files.
maybe actually play the game instead of watching pat skip all the side dialogue and then whine about he has no time to play the game while spending 4 hours of a 5 hour stream without opening the game
so you admit to watching a stream
You're not going to join dangerous plans just to preserve your AI eyeball GF, right?

>the shitty localization just gave them two different voice actors.
ah yes, shitty.
why would two completely different people sound completely different.
Face it, the Japanese decision of using one VA for both was shit. It sounded like one guy doing two voices. The English version sounded like two people trying to do the same voice mannerisms, which makes sense because the brain is switched, not the vocal chords.
>It sounded like one guy doing two voices.

I wonder if Aiba ever had that function
Thoughts?
that would be moronic
>If that is the case the Wadjet system works similar to Delta's computer in ZTD
This was my theory since ai1
Keep posting batshit ideas like this. We need Uchikoshi to morb them fields.
In the end, what is the function of blue dildo bullets?
Cute. I accept it as my headcanon now.
I don't remember the latter happening?
after you get the divergence ending you unlock a new zero escape themed somnium in the extras, costs 999 in the eyeball money which you probably have.
I can't believe I didn't catch that joke.
I don get it

How the hell have I not seen any memes or even seen it in my youtube recommendations? Bless you anon, the song is gonna be stuck in my mind for a while
The song is meme'd to shit, dont know how you avoided it my dude.
I've been on Ganker and various alt-chan boards for years and I seriously have never heard of it.
No way Kotaro is doing some of these jokes? They would be easily lost in translation. Did the localization team write it?
Turn on the Jap dub and you'll see.
what do you mean? it's already slightly lost in translation, the original fricking song is precisely a japanese song so of fricking course it's still a meme there, and even the animations line up
Sell me on AI 1+2, are they worth playing? I enjoyed 999 and VLR a lot but ZTD was garbage and I'm not sure I'm ready to trust Uchikoshi again
>are they worth playing?
Yes
I'd say these games together are about VLR tier.
its 8 bux on steam right now just buy it, and if you dont like it before 2 hours just refund
Yeah. At the very least, try 1. Only 8 bucks.
>hitomi's arm is broken in the ending dance this time when they forgot for the first game when she was actually relevant.
That's very funny.
Seems like a sequel issue
so what's the spinning amusement attraction for the third game
teacups
heres your ride bro
So is the final hidden bats message just Uchikoshi saying nonsense or is hinting at an AI 3?
Both.
More like hinting that AI3 = ZE4.

This worth $60?
I payed full price and I didn't feel gypped despite having a lot of issues with the game, but others may disagree. I got almost 30 hours out of it and had a reasonable time.
posting some of the screenshots I took while playing because got nothing better to do.
She means she has other holes.
How'd this game sell? As long as it didn't bomb, I think it's inevitable that this will become a trilogy like Zero Escape.
AI1 sold like shit and still got a sequel
Apparently it sold anywhere from 100-200k so people are just saying 150k sales to even it out.
It's on everything, gamepass and people knew about the 1st game well enough to buy it again. It'll do well and we will finally get the sequel, LGBTQIA2S+!
I hope the oppressed minorities speech in the third game lasts like five minutes and has each line being alternated between Mizuki and Bibi.
The first game sold 300k on Steam alone, the series is doing very well, way better than Zero Escape ever did, it's the closest thing Spike Chunsoft has to Danganronpa level of success.
this hit me hard ngl
Gen's somnium was more emotional than Shoma and Komeji's route which felt like a retread of Ota's route in 1. Gen talking about how he doesn't feel like he's allowed to exist during his Somnium and later when in the Gen/Amame route when he's dying and curses God in his head for making him the way he is then verbally saying he's grateful to God for letting him meet Amame hit a lot harder than I expected it to and Gen's probably my favorite new character from AI2. Also the theme song for Brahman was catchy and I hope we go back there.
Just a minor thing but the binaural version of the Brahman theme was nice through headphones
That is the deep meaning of a mirror in AI setting?
why is the game so cringe?
does uchi think his audience like that kind of stuff?
Also I hate that fricking song that kizuna sings all the time, some times 3 times in a row within a couple of hours.
uchikoshi meatriders are something else
I sort of liked the first one but the musical tier shit made me refund
Just play the game in japanese so you don't get convulsions the moment you hear the en translation travesty.
Sure the original version of the song still has lyrics that are denpa-tier but at least it actually sounds like a song and is pleasant to actually listen to.
I mean, I don't envy the localizers' task to try and fit the same meaning into a set rhythm and meter but I don't have to suffer through what they shat out either. Every single english song in the franchise is struggling to fit square words in round bars and just end up clunky as frick.

https://steamspy.com/app/1449200
Steamspy estimates the sales as 50k-100k on Steam
PS4 and Switch probably sold more or matched that
so that 100-200k figure sounds logical
>>PS4 and Switch probably sold more or matched that
anon....
even if PS4 and Switch sold around half the median of the Steam version, it'd still make up to around 150k units.
the Switch CEs sold out like crazy and didn't have any supply issues like the PS4 version.
you also have to remember that this is a 60/70USD game, so the fact that it's selling so much this quickly is good
Didn't it sold only 4k copies on PS4 and Switch combined?
In Japan.
Japan does not like Uchikoshi games
punished uchikoshi, denied sales in his homeland
Yet 70% of his game are filled with untranslatable shitty Japanese pun and wordplays
too bad the sub is still better
It's just really clunky, just don't hit the purple objects and pray to god
As she said the entire thing was setup to attract the attention of a Frayer if it existed.

>prototype psync machine in factory
>bullet hole in leg from "3 months ago"
they really said they wouldn't spoil the first game then proceeded to spoil the first game even with the spoilers disabled
yeah that was weird to me. it feels like Spike demanded Uchikoshi make it accessible to newcomers so he came up with that cheap option that barely did anything to satisfy them
when is someone going to corner Uchikoshi and ask what happened to kyle
Someone did in a convention and he answered it. IIRC it was basically (You) or some shit? I don't remember, but you can search for it on google
whenever Uchikoshi gets asked questions and they sneak in a Remember11 question, he always ignores it.
"Hey, I love your games and what's your opinion of Remember11?"
"Thank you for supporting my games, I appreciate it."
maybe he pulled a Stephen King where he was on cocaine when writing Remember11 and doesn't remember writing it
Genuinely hope this is actually is revealed to be true at some point.
I don't know what is happening with my old buddy labtop machine here, but modern games like Master Duel and AI 2 are killing my battery, even plugged.
I have it since 2014, should I get a new battery? nirvanA Initiative plays fine, except for this problem.
>"lab"top
dunno bro, maybe its running at the fastest framerate it can instead of vsyncing
It's almost as if 2022 games aren't made with 201r hardware in mind
Your computer is just old and busted
ZTD wasnt that bad
honestly this, the character writing was honestly good. It's just the story went full moron at times.
I mind hacked and loved it.
But we seriously need a sequel.
Why would you lie on the Internet, Frayer-san?
I provided screenshots of the game. When will you?
I checked and it's not
I have two questions, but I'm only up to The start of Mizuki's route.
1. Was the term Frayer ever mentioned in the first game off handedly or am I misremembering? It sounds like something Iris would spit out when she goes all theory-mode.
2. When (You) are asked about being a Frayer by Tokiko in Ryuki's route, does it have any long lasting consequences or does it merely change her response in that scene? I chose "I am not" btw.
1 no
2 no
3
didn't play the game
You didn't play the game.
Thanks ' '/
it's not like they followed up on everything Iris said in the first game
Frayer is just a japanese pun on Player
and finish the game right now before you come back
Will do, despite lurking in the thread carefully until now lol
"side dialog" is now "read the appendix"
cool straw man
I assume that guy was misremembering but he's right in how the game does explain it and given how it's a non-optional thing it does sound like
and
only watched a stream or something. That one or both of them is now shitting up the thread with their inane crap just makes it feel like they're mad about being called out.
you never have to open the appendix in the game
It's not optional, you just didn't read it because you didn't play the game.
You watched a stream
>non-optional
explain the green mark indicating it's never been read
why did you resond to two post about ZTD, you're more of a schizo than ryuki anon
You didn't play ZTD
Game looks like gay cringe.
>sees two semen demons
>"gay"
homosexual
Video games aren't real
WAKE UP
Do I get to have Moksha sex with Tokiko if I wake up?
Didn't datamine the files? You didn't play the game. Didn't crack the ARG yourself before the game came out? Disqualified from existence.
>entire thread goes to shit because of one butthurt moron who would rather whine about how the game doesn't explain things and shitpost than look at the part of the game that explains things
wow
You didn't play the games
>Date sees Tearer
>Fricking shoots him, no questions asked
I literally clapped
I played the games but I will only use strawmen because I am afraid of being proven wrong
what is the gameplay?
you will never play the games
you play as a detective with an AI partner. The ai has cool mechanics that make investigation easier. When people you question you don't wanna speak you usually investigate in a dream world to find the truth.
visual novel with puzzle elements.
MY ROBOT CAN'T FORGET THE TURBO
>Chikara somnium final combination
>very first thing I try is NA IX
>ERROR
>spend 30 minutes save scumming every other option/looking for more halves because I'm about to run out of time
>think I missed something earlier and redo the entire somnium
>again nothing works
>lower difficulty and try NA IX for the 50th time
>it works
I swear on both Mizukis' hymens
Either it's a bug or you are moronic and that wasn't the final choice.
it's literally the final thing you do in the somnium
the rest is the ending cutscene
Where can I get the ripped models from?
Preferably with face morphs.
I need them for reasons.
Start by using Google and putting some effort, 3Dgay
I woudn't ask if I didn't try this.
Only found shit without morphs on deviantart.
bibi footjob
More like challenge against spelling
>thread goes to shit while I'm gone
so did Mizuki ever commit insurance fraud
Bros, I bought the first game on steam and it give me a black screen, any fix? I am usimg win10.
how much longer do I have to deal with the gay dude and tama before I can finally see Aiba again
Ryuki is made for Date x Tama NTR.
Ryuki is made for hardcore cuddling and rough headpats from Tama.
Can someone post the hidden bats code or is it unique to every person?
>His community hates AI
what
He didnt play the game but already made fun of the game "Let me quit x game right now and let me play the amazing "ai game" in a very sarcastic way"
He'll (assumedly) end up enjoying AI1 because it's the most well constructed narrative out of the four games and is far less insane.
The twist took me a few minutes to understand because I'm fricking moronic.
vlr is fricking shit
It has as much stupid shit as AI2 and for some reason it gets the most praise out of Kotaros' games? That always baffled me. On top of that the game is a slog half the time plus locks your progress a "to be continues" every hour which completely ruins the pace. Also 999 is his best and moust grounded work
Do people really think Ai3 won't use the divergent ending? I feel like the fact that Uru lives practically confirms it.
So? There were multiple endings where Saito was alive in AI1 and they didn't even mention him.
His plan only works if you remember Tokiko asking you.
I didn't and had to ask here.
Multiple timelines, my friend. Though you might've forgotten, there's always a reality in which you did remember. The important thing is that all the conditions were met to make such a reality a possibility in the first place.
Tama paizuri.
Chikara got off too easy.
Imagine if this is one of those stories where each victim actually had a different killer and Bibi did Chikara.
NEW TAMA/RYUKI ART homosexualS

Does anyone have file 82's translated text? Don't have access to my computer right now, it's the one explaining the original psync machine upgrades
>psychelock reference
Kino
Before the final Ryuki chapter. Wasn't Tearer in total control of him? Why was he still able to investigate? I dont get it
He got what he wanted in the end anyway so not like that matters.
Where do I go to input the 855174 you get at the end?
"Are you a frayer?"
The Masked Woman’s somnium is really fricking with me. I hate stealth shit.
HUH
Why do so many people buy this obvious weeb game from fricking Spike Chunsoft who develop weebshit written by goddamn Uchikoshi of all people and then act offended that it has anime tropes and dialogue? What the frick?
Who are you quoting?
So why the frick is Ryuki filthy rich?
Dead rich parents.
>dead
Is it confirmed?
Yes, his profile mentions it I think.
I believe nothing said in these treads without proofs, you are a bunch of frayers.
It's also actually mentioned I think
Yeah, when you go into his car for the first time, you get an option to ask Tama what she thinks of it, that's when it's mentioned in the main story
>Bibi is brutally tortured for many years
>has the exact same personality as Mizuki when you play as her
>makes the same jokes too
frick you Uchikoshi
nah she's a bit more mature that mizuki.
but yeah there should've been more obvious differences between the two.
She noticeably doesn't react to Date.
Iris is a sexual predator (succubus)
Before 404, why does japan love to use x for a k sound? like naixatloz being naikatloz or texhnolyze being texhnolyze.
