She was a small child when Cornia fell, she is ment to be very young still. I don't think she could really 'betray' anything.
Armors can counter a lot of teams without issue so they should be higher and Owls are broken with the right teams.
I would also drop a few down from the top spot like knights since they are easy to counter.
More than anything, Paladins are a lot better than what you are implying. They are more offensive focused Radiant knights whose stats eventually skyrocket and being on a horse already puts them above fighters.
I feel like units like High Lord and Valkyria and Dark Marquess are already plenty tanky, and you always have access to evasion tanks as well. Legionnaires feel overkill for tanking but not good enough for support/damage/everything else.
And Paladins might be strong idk but the only one you get aside from super late postgame is Josef who is pretty meh, I feel like you would almost never run a Paladin over anything else except for the super early game.

Haven't played this. Does the game encourage one of the girls as the 'canon' queen or do they all get around the same amount of screen time and content? Does it matter which one you marry at all or does it just add one or two fluff scenes? Genuinely curious.
Because of how the game is sort of formatted, region specific girls don't really show up outside of their respective countries because technically you can do the content in different orders (even if practically you won't since that'd involve having to go back to low level areas after gorging yourself on high level content). Scarlett is the female lead

The scenes normally have Alain, Josef, and whomever the player picks as their maiden show up.

The thing is that any girl that's not Scarlett will look out of place in the final battle.
Even among the princesses which the second most canon pairings, they just lack the main relevance to show up at the end without it looking weird, not to mention how out of place the platonic girls look.
Still, I'd argue that anyone whose pairing is considered romantic is good enough for the game (alongside Virginia, Selvie, Sharon and Ochlys who also have three rapports with unambiguously romantic endings)
Only the elf siblings would look fine there given how the elves were in on the plan to send the Zenoiran souls to the afterlife.
I can agree with these pretty much. game could've reduced the ring pairing down significantly to the ones that were objectively romantic and josef and it would've been fine. Probably better even.

I think making the romantic pairings more overt would have just caused the choice to be harder since now you have a group of clearly relevant girls of whom you only pick one.
Had they just reduced it to the main girls (Scarlett, Elf twins, Virginia and Yunifi) with, say, Chloe and Ren as additional choices the rest would have felt more like afterthoughts than they are now. I do think that the cast is simply too big and some characters could have been cut (Jeremy, Jerome, Mordon, Colm, Uremus, Galadmir) for more missions developing the ones we have.

Mordon is a mercenary with a heart of gold who took over a town. Bryce already does that and better since he's involved with two missions alongside Nina. Sure he builds bridges and if fine, but he could have been given more than what it was.
Colm is literally just a Melisandre satellite. Gilbert's retainer has more relevance than him and that one doesn't even have a face. He could easily have stayed behind stewarding her lands and not clog the party with another useless fighter.

Yes, but the point is that they basic fullfil the same role. Aubin is also a mercenary who would appear to be forgotten after you recruit him, but he's actually relevant and involved during the desert side missions. Even Berenice, who also fall under that umbrella, has a small moment to shine when confronting Galfrey.
Scarlet is pushed as the main girl, but Chloe, Yahna, Miriam, Dinah, Fran, Melisandre, Berengaria, Primm, Liza, Rosalinde, Eltolinde, Celeste, Ridel and Yunifi's rapports are considered romantic by the game if your already married and their 3rd rapport is a dream.

Ehhh, that list is quite flawed.
Basically, you will have to give a ring to someone from your party. It can be anyone but it all amounts to a ringing scene, basically a proposal, that character being by your side during the final battle to say a few lines, the epilogue which is just a mention of what happens to them, and another line during the post game.
Know that, while you can give the ring to anyone, not all of the pairings are romantic, including basically all the male ones, save for a couple. But besides that each character has rapport conversations with Alain before you can even pick them, some more, or less and some more romantic in nature than others.
So, don't think too hard about it.

You can tell that the romance in the game is a bit half-baked due to the fact that the only two-person Rapport tavern food is a couple of pieces of fruitcake jello. Give the lovebirds some chocolate crepes or something, I dunno.
None of the male "romances" are actually romances. There are a few girls who get 3 rapports, but a lot that get only two or even only one with Alain. Some of the girls are also platonic like Hilda and Ramona. Also there are a couple which seem romantic but the gir doesn't become queen of Cornia for some reason, like the angel girls or Titania

Fuk. Even in Japanese that was horrible. They should’ve had his eyes be half-lidded at least. I don’t care how much of an actual savior that last stage made me feel like when I saved (most of) the Sacred Heart Knights from Sanatio’s little trick, Albion’s the worst chapter for me. Partially due to being a victim of the game’s quest design (Betrand and Ochlys are partially to blame), but it has major weaknesses of its own outside of that.
You can clearly see that they rushed Albion to get to the end game as fast as possible. It only has two main quests, you only get a few characters, two in one and done liberation missions and the place feels barren and underdeveloped. I'm guessing this is the point where they started running out of budget.

From what I recall, the Japanese version of her rapport and ring scene is fairly platonic, they made it more romantic in english, but left the ending platonic like it was in Japanese
The English version did make the platonic female rings to sound more romantic than they originally were. They still had the romantic undertones but they were just that, not the declarations of love present in the English version. For some reason, despite doing that, they kept the epilogue exactly the same. That's why you have things like Raenys leaving Alain for Scarlett and the like.

Muramasa only works outside of slashing folks and yokai if you're VERY familiar with Japanese mythology and history. Because its story really relies on you knowing both to understand what's going on. Also the story is doled out like a kabuki play, so be ready for the dialogue to be lyrical but restrained. Also, buying the DLC is a must if you want to get the most out of the game as otherwise you'll only be able to play as two characters who play virtually identical to one another. If I could, I'd recommend people play Muramasa and then Odin Sphere as it feels like a downgrade in overall quality (not necessarily in terms of graphics) when you go from OS to Muramasa.
Grand Knights History is more gameplay focused from what I've seen
Princess Crown is a fun, colorful, if somewhat rough combat adventure game. Not sure of the translation.

It completely alters the ending. One nets you the normal end where the main issue isn't actually solved and the other one, the true ending where the plot is concluded.
Star Wars but fantasy. Luke also potentially gets laid at the end, and the girl characters are all legitimately charming in their own ways. Gameplay is RTS with pause, and instead of turn based engagements when units clash, you can tweak the programming, positioning, and equipment of your troops before the battle starts to give them an edge (ex. giving a swordsman a magic damage sword so they can put the hurt on a shield unit that their attacks would've bounced off of, or turning off your wizard's magic attacks when your up against an opponent that reflects magic attacks and have him focus on support spells instead). Gorgeous art style, and the backgrounds of battles changes depending on where you're having them on the map.
The reason she's so upset about being a half-elf is because of discrimination against half-elves, so if you ensure that Cornia doesn't let that shit fly (which her epilogue says it doesn't) then they're probably cool

I tend to orbit around pairing characters that have a reason to be in the same team story wise and most of them actually go together way too well so i have even less reason to be more creative
Unless you fill your team with units with the same weaknesses, it's difficult for them to actually have trouble.
Sure, the more synergistic you are, the better your team will be, but as long as you stay true to the basic, front row tanks for the damage dealing backrow, it's hard to fail.

Anyone else feel like the parallel timeline Alain team was underwhelming? Norbelle's party felt more challenging because of everyone protecting her while she casted party wide nuke spells that healed her party as well.
That mission is just an excuse to get the non party members and to level farm everyone to level 50, that's why all the fights are relatively easy.
Also, Norbelle has a unique staff and ribbon that should have been made playable. They aren't broken but it would be fun trying to use Scarlett as a draining nuke.
I'm pretty sure some of them will definitely end up going on extended hunting trips with Alain.

Rosalinde was in general cute and I like that she's upfront about being queen, but (this will sound dumb) she and Alain are too strong of characters to be in the same unit. Scarlett is clearly an intended love choice but I don't really like her, though having a similar lifespan as Alain is I think a good idea. On the other hand it doesn't improve diplomatic ties to Elheim. Virginia is out because I need those diplomatic ties to drakenhold to really cement peace between the countries.

She's fine, the main issue is that her focus chapter Albion was clearly rushed so she was left without much to do. Her rapports are pretty funny for the most part and her design is great.
Would you like it if, when you gave the ring during the ritual of the Unicorn and the Maiden, other maxed out rapport subjects would enter and object to the marriage of your waifu and you had to decide between those present. Just incase you have second thoughts.
That would not only be too much trouble, but it would also feel extremely out of place to have a scene where you explicitly break the hearts of anyone you're not marrying. The game doesn't lend itself to this sort of scenes.

I feel like units like High Lord and Valkyria and Dark Marquess are already plenty tanky, and you always have access to evasion tanks as well. Legionnaires feel overkill for tanking but not good enough for support/damage/everything else.
And Paladins might be strong idk but the only one you get aside from super late postgame is Josef who is pretty meh, I feel like you would almost never run a Paladin over anything else except for the super early game.

More like she's Yahna but with more defensive passive skills opposed to granting allies magic to their attacks or ensuring truestrike, hence why she's definitely not S. Her capabilities as a magic nuke aren't something to be trifled with. She also defangs certain enemy setups that rely on stacking buffs thanks to her attacks removing buffs from anyone fortunate enough to survive.
Armors can counter a lot of teams without issue so they should be higher and Owls are broken with the right teams.
I would also drop a few down from the top spot like knights since they are easy to counter.
More than anything, Paladins are a lot better than what you are implying. They are more offensive focused Radiant knights whose stats eventually skyrocket and being on a horse already puts them above fighters.
The problem with Paladins is that unless you build them as dedicated pursuit bots with the hunter's claymore, hunter's buckler and the earrings, they're limited to just a max of 2 single target attacks since slice is a joke of an attack that's never worth using against anything besides something at 10% hp..

I think making the romantic pairings more overt would have just caused the choice to be harder since now you have a group of clearly relevant girls of whom you only pick one.
Had they just reduced it to the main girls (Scarlett, Elf twins, Virginia and Yunifi) with, say, Chloe and Ren as additional choices the rest would have felt more like afterthoughts than they are now. I do think that the cast is simply too big and some characters could have been cut (Jeremy, Jerome, Mordon, Colm, Uremus, Galadmir) for more missions developing the ones we have.

Ehhh, that list is quite flawed.
Basically, you will have to give a ring to someone from your party. It can be anyone but it all amounts to a ringing scene, basically a proposal, that character being by your side during the final battle to say a few lines, the epilogue which is just a mention of what happens to them, and another line during the post game.
Know that, while you can give the ring to anyone, not all of the pairings are romantic, including basically all the male ones, save for a couple. But besides that each character has rapport conversations with Alain before you can even pick them, some more, or less and some more romantic in nature than others.
So, don't think too hard about it.
You can tell that the romance in the game is a bit half-baked due to the fact that the only two-person Rapport tavern food is a couple of pieces of fruitcake jello. Give the lovebirds some chocolate crepes or something, I dunno.
None of the male "romances" are actually romances. There are a few girls who get 3 rapports, but a lot that get only two or even only one with Alain. Some of the girls are also platonic like Hilda and Ramona. Also there are a couple which seem romantic but the gir doesn't become queen of Cornia for some reason, like the angel girls or Titania

The English version did make the platonic female rings to sound more romantic than they originally were. They still had the romantic undertones but they were just that, not the declarations of love present in the English version. For some reason, despite doing that, they kept the epilogue exactly the same. That's why you have things like Raenys leaving Alain for Scarlett and the like.

No, probably won't happen for a very long time
Muramasa only works outside of slashing folks and yokai if you're VERY familiar with Japanese mythology and history. Because its story really relies on you knowing both to understand what's going on. Also the story is doled out like a kabuki play, so be ready for the dialogue to be lyrical but restrained. Also, buying the DLC is a must if you want to get the most out of the game as otherwise you'll only be able to play as two characters who play virtually identical to one another. If I could, I'd recommend people play Muramasa and then Odin Sphere as it feels like a downgrade in overall quality (not necessarily in terms of graphics) when you go from OS to Muramasa.
Grand Knights History is more gameplay focused from what I've seen
Princess Crown is a fun, colorful, if somewhat rough combat adventure game. Not sure of the translation.

Yes, that one post game mission doesn't happen unless you seek to exorcise him instead of just killing him.

It has a 5-ish hour demo that's the entire first country so play that first if your thinking about getting it. Progress will carry over
Star Wars but fantasy. Luke also potentially gets laid at the end, and the girl characters are all legitimately charming in their own ways. Gameplay is RTS with pause, and instead of turn based engagements when units clash, you can tweak the programming, positioning, and equipment of your troops before the battle starts to give them an edge (ex. giving a swordsman a magic damage sword so they can put the hurt on a shield unit that their attacks would've bounced off of, or turning off your wizard's magic attacks when your up against an opponent that reflects magic attacks and have him focus on support spells instead). Gorgeous art style, and the backgrounds of battles changes depending on where you're having them on the map.

I tend to orbit around pairing characters that have a reason to be in the same team story wise and most of them actually go together way too well so i have even less reason to be more creative
Unless you fill your team with units with the same weaknesses, it's difficult for them to actually have trouble.
Sure, the more synergistic you are, the better your team will be, but as long as you stay true to the basic, front row tanks for the damage dealing backrow, it's hard to fail.

Anyone else feel like the parallel timeline Alain team was underwhelming? Norbelle's party felt more challenging because of everyone protecting her while she casted party wide nuke spells that healed her party as well.
That mission is just an excuse to get the non party members and to level farm everyone to level 50, that's why all the fights are relatively easy.
Also, Norbelle has a unique staff and ribbon that should have been made playable. They aren't broken but it would be fun trying to use Scarlett as a draining nuke.

I'm torn between Eltolinde, Rosalinde, and Scarlett. Eltolindes rapport convos were cute but her proposal scene was kinda lame. Rosalinde was in general cute and I like that she's upfront about being queen, but (this will sound dumb) she and Alain are too strong of characters to be in the same unit. Scarlett is clearly an intended love choice but I don't really like her, though having a similar lifespan as Alain is I think a good idea. On the other hand it doesn't improve diplomatic ties to Elheim. Virginia is out because I need those diplomatic ties to drakenhold to really cement peace between the countries.

That would not only be too much trouble, but it would also feel extremely out of place to have a scene where you explicitly break the hearts of anyone you're not marrying. The game doesn't lend itself to this sort of scenes.
