I unironically played Alan Wake 1 a few months ago. Was a really comfy experience. I liked that Alan had a wife, whom he loved and wanted to save, I liked that we had Barry, who was a true bro.
But at the same moment I have no desire to even try Alan Wake 2. I dont want to play game where I am constantly reminded that "black lives matter", or that white people bad, or that women are strong and so on.
I mean, I am not mad. I just will not play it. If devs want somebody else exept me as their audience, than this is ok for me. Thare are still many other games which I still havent played.

Yeah that was a confusing moment. I assume it was more of a rebirth for the dark presence and started echoing Alan, hence why Scratch acted very differently from Barbara. I was always wondering why the hell would the dark presence make the end if the world an endless deerfest.
