Its pretty fricking good. Basically my only complaint right now is the pathfinding always separating my squad, and the lack of guns to unlock.

Is it true that resources are finite, and you will eventually run out of ammo with no way to get more?
no you will get gameover from infestation before you ever run out of resources. take too many days and the game ends like xcoms doom counter
thanks
>take too many days and the game ends like xcoms doom counter
Goddammit I fricking hate that kind of mechanic, is the infestation/day counter more painfully tight than xcoms version?
you can change the doom counter to easy and it's hardly there
you can customize squad mates
Do you at least get a flashlight so the descent is not so dark?
Shut up
Take the dick out of your mouth
why did you put it there?
Where did the idea that aliens must be literal beastial monsters come from? Is it just humanity projecting its own flaws onto the mere idea of alien life that we have this nonsense?
Can beasts turn off the lights? Checkmate
Do you mean the xenomorphs or in general?
In general.
Time and time again I see 'sci'-fi depict aliens in a grotesque/.demonic way. It's so stupid.
This doesn't jhustify the 'intelligent' lifeforms being said beasts
And it ain't like these beasts are simply carnivorous mammals like here on Earth.
No, they're ultra edgy monsters straight out of the gates of torturous
Makes 0 sense
My knowledge on the Aliens franchise is limited, but weren't the xenomorphs basically a bioweapon the Engineers made? Akin to orks in 40k, made for a fightin' purpose but backfires majorly.
they were made by an android reciting poetry if you are taking the prequels retcon as canon
the third movie was cancelled and swapped for zoomers vs aliens so we'll never get the ending of david's rampage as creator, because youtubers hated alien covenant for doing what they wanted prometheus to do but didn't, I'm not joking that's how it literally went
>prometheus comes out
>WAAAH WE WANT THE ALIEN FRICKING HUMANS
>alienc covenant comes out
>WAAAH THE HUMANS ARE SO STUPID WHY DOES THE ALIEN FRICK THEM WE WANT THE ANSWERS OF PROMETHEUS
>scott: frick you guys I'm out
>netflix: MMM YUMMY SHIT
Actually yes, I want the aliens fricking the humans.
>weren't the xenomorphs basically a bioweapon the Engineers made?
It's highly ambiguous. I think some old comics just had them kind of showing up together in some sort of ancient feud, with the engineers drawn to terminating aliens wherever they show up out of vengeance. The headcanon I get from watching Prometheus is that I expected the engineers to be experimenting with creating life in some attempt at saving their crumbling civilization and possible inability to reproduce, which is why they accidentally/intentionally seed Earth life, why they seem to research/worship xenomorphs that are basically sex monsters, and why they make the goo in an attempt to spur mutation and reproduction in local life. It also explains the contempt they have for humans if they're jealous of our ability to reproduce effortlessly.
It's left open for a reason. The mystery, much like with the Predator, is the point. All we know is how we initially encountered them in Alien.
And then you have trash like
where they ruin fricking everything by making it about us, once again. The whole idea with the franchise was the premise that there is something unknown out there, completely alien, and extremely deadly. Something that we don't know where it came from, or how it works, or as Ripley so often put it: something that cannot be tamed.
And then they went and retconned it about how an angy flawed doll made by humans made it all happen. Gone is the mystery, the intrigue, the entire message of the original movies. Now it's just another human genetics experiment in space, the most boring, mundane, useless trash there is.
Prometheus & Covenant will never be canon for me. While perfectly ok as standalone movies, they don't hold a candle to the original Alien movies.
>Prometheus & Covenant will never be canon for me.
Agreed. I like them, they're not terrible, but they kind of piss me off. The ecosytem is closed now. I was spookier not knowing.
>While perfectly ok as standalone movies,
they are still terrible as stand alone movies.
galaxy of terror mogs them to hell and back
>basically a bioweapon the Engineers made?
Rule of thumb is "never give a frick about revisionist bullshit added later by hacks"
hold on you, that's original shit. there were no engineers, but you could presume that the pilot wasn't an unique individual, so there's that, and the ship was a bomber or well, at least it was factually carrying the eggs somewhere on purpose, they had the fog field to prevent activation, so there's nothing in the post you replied to that's part of revisionist bs at all
no, prometheus isn't canon.
Nope.
A race of sentient albinos created humanity, and other worlds, through terraforming done with DNA seeding with black goo. Humanity created robots, went to find their makers, found their makers, makers hated humans and robots. Upset robot created aliens using human DNA and goo. Sent aliens on albino space ship to human space. Humans found aliens = Alien movie 1.
The black goo is a bioweapon they use that aliens come from but the one we see in Alien is actually David's creation. That's why it's biomechanical and not sinewy like the alien in Covenant, David perfected it. David would've faced the surviving Engineers on LV-426 in the third movie.
"aliens" are either monsters or blue skinned humans with crinkly foreheads. there is no inbetween
Least James Cameron tried to do something different, but everyone else continues pooping out garbage
maybe don't just watch sci-fi horror movies?
it's not like there's a shortage of sci-fi franchises full of civilized aliens, star wars, star trek, mass effect
It's because we struggle to create concepts that are completely detached from our own living reality. We make aliens slimey and buglike because it's the farthest removed type of living creature that we humans know about.
Why should aliens be so far from what already works on Earth?
Convergent evolution supports the idea of nonhuman humanoid life.
>[stupid question]? [term I don't understand] supports [headcannon].
>frick you
>...
Nice retort.
Anyway, take a look at pic related. None of the species in pic related share a class with each other, but all of them have almost duplicate body plans regardless.
Life that evolved on other planets would look different, but not as much as you'd think.
The humanoid form works, and intelligent life would obviously need opposable thumbs, as well as large craniums to house large brains.
Maybe other forms work too but to go as far from the humanoid form as possible simply for the sake of being different is silly.
dickhead
>Time and time again I see 'sci'-fi depict aliens in a grotesque/.demonic way. It's so stupid.
Star Wars and Star Trek, the two most popular scifi settings of all time have little to no demonic aliens. This is a problem of you being uneducated.
Countless times I've said it's either aliens are depicted as grotesque monsters, or humans with tumors and skin cancer.
Both are stupid.
Ok, great, you're still wrong as both settings have a range of aliens that are not just humanoids.
Your lack of education =/= a lack of scifi creativity. Maybe go outside, touch grass.
>kys
>touch grass
>straw man arguments

Summer is here

>There is food other than sandwiches
>Yes but Ive ONLY eaten food thats sandwiches, therefore there are only sandwiches
This is how moronic you are, have a nice day
Anything is only ever "grotesque" to pussy human sensibilities, not to nature.
read better scifi my dude
you are reading, right?
if theres beasts on earth theres beasts in space.
So the lore explaining the Xenomorphs is a couple of different ideas in one IP.
In one set of lore the xenomorphs are a species on an insanely brutal planet and fit into the food chain but once exposed to humans they become an invasive species with an incredibly successful rate. And they were introduced accidentally to humanity by the "space jockeys" which is an unidentified intelligent race that the lore never really explores.
In the other lore they are basically biological weapons created by high technology not understood by humans.
In neither set of the lore are aliens just beasts. You are a homosexual, and please refrain from complaining about what you don't understand.
I literally just said in general and you go on a tangent about xenomorphs and their 'lore' as if this justifies anything
Just an hero
You're still a homosexual that doesn't know what he's talking about. Also in some of the lore it claims that the queens have genius level IQ's.
if its not in the original 4 movies, its not canon. shame you wasted your time reading non-canon fanfic
Officially licensed novels and comic books broski.
yeah, fanfic
>In neither set of the lore are aliens just beasts
then why do the act like Black folk? checkmate loregay
Think it was the first Aliens comics that established a Xenomorph home planet where local Xenos are bigger and more muscular in general because their facehuggers jumped on way bigger creatures than humans. The comic also had the Xenomorph queen having the ability to cause this weird psychosis disease that formed human cults.
Genestealers and Aliens comic came around the same time in late 80's, so not sure if Aliens comic ripped off the Genestealer cult, or W40K ripped the Aliens comic cult for their Genestealer cult.
It's almost certainly the latter given their history of rampant theft.
Earth Hive didn't have xenomorphs on their homeworld being any different from the norm. It actually implied there was an ecosystem in place that kept Xenomorphs in check and that they were worried about the stuff that kept them from totally conquering the planet like they do on Earth in the same novel/comic.
i like you
the offshoot comics/books that explore the telepathic intelligence in xenomorphs are my favorite ones, like that one with the scientist in the black-ops lab that basically acts as their surrogate queen
God these comics were so cool. Too bad we won't get anything like them in movie/game form.
The comics had some wild stuff.
They did.
i liked the arc of the guy getting capture by the aliens and somehow surviving among them, dr church
Need a list of the best ones to read pls
I prefer scary and gory as well
The original comic series by Dark Horse, simply titled Aliens (and later renamed into Aliens: Outbreak) is still the best. Since it was made before Alien 3, it goes to a completely different direction from that film.
You should check out Woodrings other stuff too while you're at it, he's a talented dude
>And they were introduced accidentally to humanity by the "space jockeys" which is an unidentified intelligent race that the lore never really explores.
those were always engineers which made them, then ridley went insane and decided they also made humanity because LE JESUS REFERENCE XDD
They got this idea when they went on to make a movie with the intent of evoking fear and horror. You fricking mentally ill, literal autistic incel.
So there's no actual science behind it? Just symbolism and we're supposed to gobble it up, even in SCI-fi, else we're the mentally ill incels? Not the other way around? Got it.
>Sees a quadruped with sharp teeth and a penchant for abducting other life forms
>Immediately it's a beast rather than a conscious evil-doer
hmmm
Just google Giger and read up on his design
Blame James Cameron for turning them into giant space termites. Original Alien writer's concept reportedly involved their lifecycle ending with them being cultured intelligent life capable of building societies, the dangerous rogue we see in the movie is basically a juvenile delinquent trying to sort his teen hormones out to mature into something more refined.
Discounting the novels or other toe-in media that makes the Alien homeworld a hell hole planet, there's no reason why they wouldn't eventually develop into an intelligent civilisation if we left them alone long enough. They are smart enough to operate human tech to some extent and are basically superhuman in terms of biological process perfection.
That lore is shit and blatant vegetarian propaganda from Ridley (many such cases). If he gave a shit about the extended lore, he would've made the sequel, but he didn't because he's a hack homosexual
what? what does it have to do with vegeterianism?
James Cameron made the Na'vi though
Unironically one of the best alien designs I've ever seen
>native americans but blue and mind raping animals
Truly an impressive design.
No moronation your npc ass spews will change my mind.
The only thing worse than the Navi are how hamfisted the stupid green message are the films beat you over the head with.
Really fricking convenient to be "one with nature" when the writers make it so you literally have a magical tentacle that lets you control it via bestiality, and have a benevolent god tree around since your species inception.
They are alright. Maybe a bit too human in the face, but I do appreaciate that they made them look a bit weirdly lanky.
My headcanon is that some gigeresque dark space gods created the Na'vi as a garden project, and humanity is bout to get pesticide'd.
Why are you xeno homosexuals so incredibly self-hating. You might as well take the plunge into full Otherkin shit.
I don't hate humanity. I just have no attachements to our genetic past.
No, you are going to the point you are fanfictioning some sort of wankedout OC to destroy humanity from nowhere. Should probably start by killing yourself first.
>humanity is bout to get pesticide'd.
Humans is plan B, if something goes wrong. Like additional force to fight rouge Aliens and dangerous life forms like Predators. Because yeah why not.
I'm from below
its fricking blue cat people. What is original about it
ABORIGINAL blue cat people, so woke~
>generic buglizardman beasts, muh humanity must unite to go fight them on their home planet!!!
>vs O'Bannon's gay shit
Scott might've made some dodgy ass movies, but he low key saved the franchise lore by making his headcanon official.
that sounds incredibly gay
None of that actually made it to the movie though and they actively avoided any mention of that where it would be on the planet. It's not lore. It's even pre-giger involvement.
Can't hump these aliens without dying and that's a sorespot for humanity.
They aren’t bestial monsters, their lifecycle depends upon unwilling hosts to survive like almost everything on the planet.
Found the butthurt ayyyy, get purged xenos filth
you act as though xenomorphs are in anyway the rule of how humanity has thought about alien life, there's been plenty of media about more advanced and benevolent aliens
seems more like you're a misanthrope ready to throw shade at humanity when nature here on earth demonstrates perfectly well that everything is flawed, not just humanity, violence and cruelty are the rule you smug tard
I was curious about the game but I don't think this one is for me. I didn't see anything remarkable other than the setting and from what I've seen you can't create your own squad mates.
>Where did the idea that aliens must be literal beastial monsters come from?
From the movie Aliens.
Because aliens ARE demons, people knew it back in the day.
no anon, you are the demons
Like Hell!
You can tell those alien sons of b***hes to go crawling back to their shithole planet so it's easier to nuke em from space.
Do you kids not even recognise the great classics anymore?
I'm not a fricking nerd
Sci-fi is gay
Says the gay who likes magic, tights, and gay fricking dragons.
At least magic is real and how many aliens are there in gay-fiction who are just dragon people in space?
No John.
>humanz wuz da reel monstas
I hate this gay trope so much.
>thread still up
>original comment has this many replies

With that I'll ask you, Ganker, what you sincerely believe irl aliens may physically appear like (pic related)
I'm not taking your gay poll
We are the dominant life form in this universe, and if we aren't, they can go frick themselves and die.
>self-destructive ape/rodent people are above all! frick you
topkek
If that's how you think of yourself, go eat some rat poison.
>what you sincerely believe irl aliens may physically appear like
It's entirely based on where they're from and what resources exist on their planet for them to grow from. Can't really have a carbon based lifeform on a planet with no carbon, for example.
They're pretty intelligent, you seen the comic where they have humans form a cult around xenos or the other comic where their queen is infertile so she abducts humans to get them pregnant and throws the pregnant women into a pool that digests them to make new aliens.
Youre mixing two comics i think, but theyre pretty fricking good anyways
Alien fanboy here
The Xenomorph origianl concept, beyond the Necronomicon IV painting, was that its a complete xeno bioform from us. A concept so "alien" and agressive that only exists to violently reproduce. Its meant to represent the utmost unknown of space, and even esoteric vibes and themes were thrown when thinking about the now called Xenomorph. Comics like Dark Horse's Outburst quadrilogy depicts it more of an idea, the reflection of mankinds sins, and the unforgiveness of existence outside our known spaces. Xenos are terrifying shit, and they call to humans too. The "Dragon" and devils of the cold like in Aline 3 and its og scripts, very far unknowns of what life can become.
But Camerons Aliens turned them into space bugs. I mean i do love Aliens too, a frickton as well. But the original ideas that float around the mythology of the Xenomorph are cooler.
Read Alien Omnibus and Aliens Labyrinth. Thank me later
>get fireteam elite on the humble choice
>enjoy fireteam elite
>it's fricking dead
man, I have no luck with these games
It was a 6/10 cashgrab thats fun for one playthrough with a lot of microtransactions and little replay value what were you expecting?
Some weird audiobugs in the mission prep screen, and the tutorial mission drags but yeah it's fricking fun.
Atmosphere nailed.
Worth it or not?
If you want to play a real time XCOM in the aliens universe. Yes, its very good at being that.
ok frick me it's actually pretty good.
>real time XCOM
I wish there were more of these. Apocalypse was really fun
>There is no inbetween
I vaguely remember a hentaifoundry story involving 7 foot tall muscular futanari aliens forcefully breeding female marines so I think there is one.
sounds comfy, how buggy and grifty is it?
>real time
a pity
Works surprisingly well, wouldn't really be the same in turn based. You actually feel the tension and scare with real time, I don't know how they managed to do that.
Isn't it real time with pause?
is it like the whole real-time where you can hit the spacebar to pause at any moment like BG or DA:O?
Diff anon but no i don't believe so. The gameplay trailer only mentions a slow-mo mechanic if you are getting overwhelmed.
Woke game.
Strong smart independent woman of colour is the main protagonist of the game who uses her girl boss power to set all the goofy stupid irresponsible white males straight.
After the first mission I refunded this trash.
Did you even watch the Alien movies.
you mean where a bad ass white male soldier rescues a woman and her adopted daughter form face huggers and where a female israelite pretends to be latino?
good flick
>dies offscreen
nothing past alien 2 except some comics are canon
>nothing past Alien 2 theatrical is canon
fixed
>it was always woke!
Cope harder
Do you even like Alien?
>protagonist
What the frick?
There's a protagonist?
There are two. A grizzled Marine sergeant, and a company administrator lady.
Is the sergeant black too?
No. He's white. The woman is darker skinned Asian mystery meat.
>Muhreen is a grizzled white man, fighting for the people who also has psychic powers apparently.
>Company lady is a lying b***h who misleads the marines to save her own skin
Uhhhh based????
>The woman is darker skinned Asian mystery meat.
kek
Seems to be the trend these days.
Yes. Everyone is black, even the aliens.
Figures. Every time they move into the neighborhood, everything goes to shit.
I wouldn't mind that at all.
In fact I'm still waiting for a Warlord : Child Soljas squad/rts/tbs simulator
Apone was cool though.
clearly didn't play the tutorial since the woman fricks up and gets 100s of people killed then lies about it to the marines face
She didn't frick up. She intentionally kills hundreds. It was either that or have the xenos spread to outside the system.
What the hell happens during the opening of this game?
This sounds almost as ridiculous as one basic Necromorph taking over an entire Marine ship in Dead Space.
WY Lady turns on a defense system in order to destroy a ship with the alien on it, but in doing so also destroys an innocent freighter (?) and cripples the marine's ship
When asked why the damn turned on in the first place, she lies to the co-main char and says she doesn't know, maybe it was an auto-emergency thing.
They have it out later. It's not bad for this franchise even if it's The Same
That literally doesn't happen.
The quarantine was purposeful and logical.
WY sneaks an alien aboard the cargo bay of a space station with the intention to ship it elsewhere, and it escapes.
That or they released it on purpose.
Standard Alien movie stuff. It is one alien to start with.
there were multiple pods and eggs in the cargo container, plus ayylums take more than 5 minutes to spread, it was more than 1 alien, when you escape you get attacked by around 5-6, there wasn't a single chestburster scene during the opening
nah man she's a girlboss, clocked her in the first ms of the first cutscene where she was side by side with a white man, but whatever, it's not too out of line, she has a nice tug of war with the sarge
Sorry but the original idea sounds absolutely dumb.
>you go from mindless, irrational psycho carnivorous killer to adult who lives a peaceful and scholarly life
Their life cycle is full on parasitic, humans at least are omnivorous and can subsist on plants, while the alien life form reproduces through host killing parasitic cycle and is 100% formed to be a carnivorous superpredator (with acidic blood). How the frick do they magically learn to read and do fingerpainting all of a sudden..it take as lot of belief/bullshit to make anyone take that concept seriously.
>high-horsing about biological parasitism and discounting the existence of genetically inheritable intelligence
xenomorphs are just eugenics-themed horror at the end of the day
Discounting what moron, you dont go from raging parasitic superpredator to novel writer, if anything they'd get old or weak and live tame on scraps from another species, like zoo and circus lions.
My point is that the concept on movie version, well the first two movies anyway, are way better that he original: ultra aggressive parasitic killer turns into mild mannered artiste.
>you dont go from raging parasitic superpredator to novel writer
did you miss the part where they're the proto-genestealer archetype
there's a whole lot of brain and psionic biology in that big funny head, and most if it is derived from the initial host species
I do think this makes sense from an anthropomorphic perspective, chap in Alien is basically raised without parental figures in an environment that treats him like an enemy and wants him dead. Consider the shit teens get up to, especially when they dont have parents to supervise and make sure they arent becoming psychos. Consider how most famous serial killers and psychopaths have some childhood neglect and lack of parents. Also they're aliens, I dont have to explain shit, if thats how they work then thats how they work.
>Kills and eats 8 people
>waved away with "teenage hormones haha u know how it is"
If anything, it makes bombing these fricking death-bugs into oblivion even more justified. They're parasites and they'll murder you if they don't have an elder to SPECIFICALLY tell them to be cool.
Lots of bugs, like the antlion, go from ravenous predators in one stage of their life cycle to peaceful pollin eaters in the next stage. If the xenomorph homeworld had species suitable as livestock then I don't see how this idea is any more implausible than humans creating civilization while being predators. The aggression could just be because they grow so fast and need tons of protein. If an adult xenomorph is capable of tard wrangling the young aggressive ones until they reach an age where they become capable of learning, it could work. Obviously this lore concept is obsolete since nobody after the original movie ever revisited it, but it's not as facially stupid as you think.
>you go from mindless, irrational psycho carnivorous killer to adult who lives a peaceful and scholarly life
anon....have you ever seen a baby human? they do the same shit, but with money, and if they are female they keep doing it as adults too
remove the parasitic birthing and we're pretty damn close
I kinda like this honestly, it's at least much more interesting than just saying they were bioweapons which got out of hand. It doesn't even contradict Aliens, because the Hadley's Hope xenomorphs were weeks/months old at most, without the years presumably necessary to physically and mentally mature all the way. It adds a bit of a tragic element, that these things are essentially feral children running around attacking people because of base instinct, and getting killed for it in turn. Even the one from the first film, which people say acted more intelligent and malicious than the ones from Aliens, could instead be contextualized as more of a curious baby investigating its environment, playing a bit rough with fragile toys. There's a spook factor as well, contemplating whatever force was capable of wiping out the original xenomorph civilization, whether it was some kind of mysterious stellar phenomena or something else entirely. I like the detail with it losing appendages as it ages, brings to mind some of the concept art.
>If it's hostile, you kill it
Doesn't matter, even if xenos mature into 'normal' species they are still invasive parasites whose life cycle demands a living creature be sacrificed for even one of them to be born. Perhaps they were wiped out by someone who actually saw them for what they are.
That page specifies it's a "lower animal, the equivalent of an Alien cow." Nobody advocates for the extinction of the human race because we have to slaughter and consume other creatures on a mass-scale to keep ourselves going.
Yeah, but humans are omnivores who can get by without slaughtering cows if need be, space monsters literally can't exist without killing.
you do not know what carnivore means, stop saying it or stop saying humans are carnivores
When I was a kid and watched Alien and Aliens, I actually had the impression that from the bio-mechanical of the engineers ship and how the alien hive resembles it, that the ship was a giant Xenomorph, and that all the Xenos in alien were building that Xenomorph.
Most all of O'Bannon's script and concept ideas were thrown out early in development. That he was given total writing credit was down to union and corporate politicking.
The only reason the film ever got made was that one scene with the chestburster. That was the single 'brilliant moment' that justified to everyone that this film had to be made, no matter how much was changed.
>NNNNOOOOOOOO Y-YYOOU'RREEE NOT ALLOWED TO USE GUNS AGAINST AN ALIEN

-yes.
-no, thank you.
It's not a shooter
game is too hard it gets boring
>only two alien types
It starts rough but smooths out the moment you figure out managing marines and getting unlocks. I’m shocked this game is good. Also that moment a squad mate gets dragged away
>pic related
Thank god
My precious lvl.3 marine got dragged into a hive hole never to return, RIP, also that early queen introduction was fricking hype, only 2-hours in and already seen huggers, bursters, drones, crushers and a queen, good start.
It took me 2 hours just to beat the first colony mission, although I did do every single objective and search every building in 1 deployment.
I'll never stop being a snail at RTS games.
IS there mid-mission saving available?
Honestly my favourite bit of RTS games is the base building, enjoy it much more than having to deal with enemies coming in and wracking my toys.
You can do a manual save by going in a small room and sealing the door shut and selecting "rest"
>huggers, bursters, drones, crushers and a queen
Sorry mate thats all your seeing
>Battlefleet: Gothic Armada dev
Expect this game to be abandoned before it gets fixed.
Frick me, guess this rules out a surprise BFGA3 announcement out of nowhere. Loved the first two.
>no LETS ROCK
It's shit
There is though, in fact the game quotes the movies obnoxiously.
My one big issue with the game honestly is that the marine units don't seem to take shit seriously and are constantly quipping. I'm surprised they aren't outright going "WELL THAT JUST HAPPENED!" Though they're one step away. I wish they'd let us appreciate the atmosphere rather than constantly bantering.
>It's actually good
Well frick me, what a pleasant surprise. Hopefully they do more with this, this is pretty cool.
Only thing it really needs is more enemy types.
I like it. Feels like i'm Lt. Gorman from the movie except not useless.
I just wish my squad leader didn't scream
"DOUBLE TIME" every 5 seconds while we're sneaking about. Kinda breaks the immersion.
Also being single player only is great since I don't have to worry about the game being dead to be playable like Fireteam Elite.

This talk is reminding me of my time playing Aliens Versus Predator: Extinction.
i'm hoping this leads to something like a spiritual successor to the AVP extinction down the line. or at least an expansion from the perspective of the aliens, imagine starting off with just a facehugger and having to build up your hive from scratch to infest the entire planet.
MAN since Carrion i am so hungry for a game where i play as the monster again.
i just wanted a expanded carrion with heavy focus on evolution, building creatures, killing humans
You can't trust people who want to play as the alien/monster over the humans.
You'd be the ones siding with the ETs come invasion day.
NTA, but depends on how frickable the aliens are.
Instead of trying to make xenomorphs into a war weapon which was never going to work why didn't Weyland Yutani take their research into a much more practical and lucrative direction?
You stop that right now. You're supposed to frick up the aliens, not frick them
No!
All women were made to be loved by human men! A monster girl, an anthro, an alien, or any unintelligible horror are all made to HOLD HUMAN HANDS!
ASTRAEA ITSELF SHALL MEEKLY BLUSH AS WE DECLARE OUR PASSION
How does the player 'squad' work in this game? Like it seems instead of controlling individual units your team is a single blob that moves around, or is it like Cannon Fodder where you could split your squad up into different segments to move around and cover each other.
you control the unit as a whole, but they split off to do individual jobs like looting or welding a door or deploying a sentry
the story is garbage and le quippy teammates who don't shut up. Other than that its pretty good
The game says its about space marines but none appear in the trailer, do they only get added to the team later?
How are you supposed to prevent your squaddies all going insane.
Research schizo pills
Aliens 3 is where the movie franchise went to shit, being terribly written nonsense that killed off surviving character from 2 offscreen.
It just got worse and worse from there (including all the AvP movies), before somehow managing to get EVEN WORSE than that with the moron canon-poisoning 'prequels' made by the hackiest of hack directors getting old and senile.
>Alien 3
Was that this one?
Where Ripley ends up on the prison planet and shaves her head, also fricks some doctor and kills herself (only to be cloned by WY for a sequel into Xeno-Ripley, because somehow cloning her also allowed them to clone the queen embryo nested in her chest)
They show Newts breasts in 3 on the morgue slab wtf
only just started first real mission on nightmare, but are xenos meant to swarm after reloading a save? I’m trying to reload after welding and resting and each time I reload that save two drones spawn outside the room and break the sealed door, bug?
Playing on Nightmare on your first time through the game seems like a bad idea.
I'm gonna do that right now because you told him not to
Technically all the post said is it seems like a bad idea, not telling anyone to do or not do it.
Fine, I'll download it right now.
>Playing on Nightmare on your first time through the game seems like a bad idea.
so did rubbing my dick up and down a cheese grater, didn’t stop me though
Good game actually. Lore is cool. So aliens exist on every planet huh.
What?
I mean the first time humans encountered aliens it was on a crashed alien spaceship, so logically one could make the deduction that they could have been artificially spread to multiple worlds.
If humans had all the stuff they had in the comics they could roflstomp any Xenomorph hive, and the aliens would have absolutely no value as weapons compared to super androids.
No one, and I mean no one, gives a shit about some shitty spinoff comics.
People in this very thread are professing love for them.
Exactly
No one
I mean that's basically what happened in Earth War, it only really ended because humanity couldn't find the hives anymore
Yeah the alien queens have genius level IQ but they aren't omniscient and they need to encounter a threat first to properly start developing counter strategies but once they did humanity was screwed.
so is this a squad based rts??? I've watched reviews and no one has confirmed it
>All negative reviews getting several clown badges
Yep, I can already tell what type of game it's going to be.
Why are all these shovelware games trying to ride off Starfields fame?
Starfield isn't even good!
Santa, you seem to have posted in the wrong thread. Are you maybe drinking a bit too much during your holidays?
Aliens: Dark Descent is a knockoff of Starfield, which is a shitty game on it's own.
Why rip off a shitty game?
I'm fricking your wife, got Mrs Claus sucking on my jingle bells.
And she isn't even a good shag.
Will this game be open to modding?
Just throw Doomguy in there who is stronger than a full squad by himself and have him slaughter his way through the Aliens.
Yeah I’m hoping it’s easy to mod. I want difficulty mods and campaign remixes that remove the timers and remove penalties from starting soldiers or something. More more more
>Let's roc-ACK
What if a face hugger jumped on your bussy instead of your mouth?
Similar result but you'd be conscious all the time of how the facehugger is pumping oxygen into your ass while holding tight to your ballsack with its tail. And the alien would have the natural instinct of trying to cross the american border.
Need a Predator dlc.
need a prometheus DLC
Frick off, Frick off and die, Frick off and die in hell.
It's a great movie
What are you so upset about?
>It's a great movie
Go to bed Ridley.
Nobody likes your senile shit
Be honest, worth a buy or straight up pirate?
I love it. It's like Syndicate and XCOM in a cooler universe. But if you have no love for the movies don't bother.
Wait a minute, this is the same universe where the action of the movie "Blade Runner" takes place. There should be replicans works on the station they could deal with aliens and face huggers like easy.
can you costumise gender and skin color of every squad member or is that fixed?
Is this all your life is?
judging by that response its a no
You can change face, hear, gender, skin colour, names, nicknames, voice etc
>guy wants to make sure he can recreate a squad of his friends in game
>troonyshill sees this as some kind of neo nazi plot
you are a joke
But I do want to change their skin colours because I'm extremely racist.
you can customize everyone. but only 2 genders sadly
does that include voices to avoid them all sounding the same?
I'm on the first mission. Can I pull in more marines from the arc? I've lost one and have shit for ammo.
No. The rest of the marines are back at the base/ship. You can return to the mission and resume where you left off in your next deployment. So get back to base and fight another day.
Will I like this if I don’t normally play RTS games but enjoy the alien franchise?
Can I get an answer to this? I’m debating pulling the trigger on the game
I think you're the one obsessed drawing so many wild conclussions and caring so much in one go.
>EVERYONE HAS TO BE THE BLACKEST Black folk POSSIBLE
>Crickets
>I want to customize my squad however I see fit
YOU ARE JUST AS OBSESSED AS THE Black person LOVERS REEEEEEEEEE
Stop being fake and gay anon, you fricking queer.
The alien franchise is in such a weird stage for me.
The original 2 movies were so strong that everything that goes to far into a new direction seems like fanfiction to me not even worth taking serious, all the new ideas and designs just don't seem authetic enough.
But on the other hand HR Giggers original designs definitely had enough room for new and bigger ideas then just a movie about alien bugs eating people so it would be cool to have a story where they are treated as the next step in humanity as well.
I guess i just can't take any story serious where Aliens are treated as anything more then just a aggressive animal after seeing them slaughtered in mass during Aliens 2.
Where's the other xenotech research drop in the first mission? I already got the facehugger removal one.
>Unarmed woman runs alone into some creepy loading bay full of blood and corpses
Is Maeko moronic or what?
Why no Combat Androids? Other games had them.
Much rather have these bros than deal with the sissies who are constantly crying and going insane after just a little close quarters combat with hordes of xenos.
Probably cause stress and emotion debuffs are a core part of gameplay, these guys would say frick you to all that, but I agree they should be like a special unlock research unit or something that get much weaker moral buffs in comparison
I think they've taken stress and panic straight from the TTRPG.
Is this any good?
Yeah, it's pretty hilarious, when someone has a bad roll, panics and then everyone gets killed or worse.
I assume its coop, yea? Is there some sort of traitor mechanic? Like one team member has a chestburster secretly inside of them
Player vs Player in TTRPG always leaves someone butthurt and angry tbh. Unless you're playing something expressly about it like Paranoia. You're better off not doing it unless you have a mature group that understands going in.
>tfw the Paranoia vidyagaem was so shit the original writers had it pulled off Steam when they got the rights back
Can you play as a
?
P sure using them for combat(giving em guns) is banned in lore.
Fireteam isn’t that faithful to the franchise, but even there its explained that the ban was lifted not so long prior to the game’s events.
And in avp2010 they are a part of wy deathsquad
I'm still at the start, but the androids started going haywire when you invoked protocol cerberus
But idk for sure
There was going to be a kids cartoon for Aliens, like all the other R-rated movies that got then? But never went beyond a sizzle trailer.
Remember they certainly made action figures, my older step brothers had the power loader (except since it was an action figure accessory it also had a random gun turret that flipped up)
be honest with me Ganker
is it a spirtual successor to aliens vs predator extinction?
> No Ravager Bioform
> No Carrier Bioform
Shit game.
0/10.
based backwater negative IQ white trash (probably from some moron colony just like LV) stupid ass slope brained jarheads.
What's up with the cult of humans living along side the aliens? How is it that even possible as per the lore of aliens?
Frickers are intelligent and very very evil.
>Have to pick between this or Trepang2
Frick... which one bros?
>Have to pick
>have to
No you don't just pirate one and buy it later, if at all.
I don't like pirating small niche titles.
AAA slop is fair game tho
>Hopefully one day you step outside your bubble and realize it
You first, woketard
How bad are the bugs in this game and did they get fixed? A lot of reviews mentioned game breaking bugs making you restart the game and even the missions.
10 hours in and I saw a T-posing guy. Maybe reviewers were on an earlier build.
Maybe he was trying to scare off the aliens with a dominant posture.
anyone else playing this on Nightmare difficulty? just got to the mine after endless stress management and now this b***h shows up int the first mission lad, fookin ell
Don't forget the lack of xenomorph types. I wish we more stuff like the gorilla xenomorph or flying mantis xenomorph.
I'm sure types like that are down to individual creatures on each planet they infest rather than breeds which can arise from humans alone, but they definitely need some more variety. I'd love to see the reappearance of goofy shit like the ones from the arcade games.
Aren't all of those basically toy shit?
Toys, comics, older vidya...
>dat meatface
Ehheh boy
That's a tyranid.
Which were basically conceived as xenomorphs fused with the Mars Attacks aliens.
>Penis cannon
>Beak vegana
Yeah, there is an android as an option in character creation. And a whole 'hidden synthetic' thing where other players don't know your character is one.
Well yeah, it's a tabletop game. If GM agrees you can have your secret chestburster as well.
>gorilla xenomorph or flying mantis xenomorph.
Lol atleast they are better than the shit which appeared in the 4th alien movie.
Gameplay looks neat, how story drive is it though? A big part of xcom's appeal to me is the whole research and base building aspect, I guess it doesn't have that?
It's very story driven, there are tons of cutscenes and characters and all that. Research and building is not as good as xcom but it's there.
I see, that's a bit of a concern for replayability. Will probably get it eventually though.
>first mission, have to look for survivors
>get to one of the markers on the second floor
>"the door is welded shut"
>can't unweld it despite the game previously telling me that's a thing I can do
Is this supposed to happen, or is this a bug?
Can we have synthetic humans as disposable squad members ?
David game when?
You will get minor hints to him in the Marvel comics and you will be happy.
I really appreciate this game letting the Queen be a rare unit ready to frick you up rather than always being a scripted end game McGuffin, it's so cool seeing them get more action
I want to play as the Aliens.
Can I capture one alive and take it back to base? For... reasons.
Pretty sure we won't be getting a predator dlc but we can expect a campaign expansion since these devs have always done some dlc for their. I was surprised that these are the guys that made battlefleet Gothic armada.
Anybody remember this shit? Neat seeing the series which inspired Metroid get its own Metroidvania, not especially great though.
Is this the one where your characters can also die or something?
Yeah it had a cast of characters and as you lost people you would cycle through them, essentially functioned as extra lives but more meaning for them dying?
qt goth marine
Yeah, there were like 30 unique marines, and each time you died you permanently lost whoever you were playing as. Neat idea with bad implementation, because you couldn't choose to cycle through them all, the only way to recruit a new one you wanted was to purposely kill off one of the four in your active squad.
Pretty rad they got Chris Bachalo to draw them a bunch of space marines.
She looks like that chick from the second ghostbusters cartoon, the one that had a dude in a wheelchair who was actually pretty cool.
>SEX Female
Thats not very Union of Progressive Peoples. Used to read all the old Alien novels as a kid, decided to read one of the new ones a few years back. Story was about a teenage girl finding out she was a lesbian, with the odd appearance from a xenomorph every now and then. The Aliens franchise went to shit a long time ago, Prometheus was just the final nail.
Just give me a game where I'm gunning down xenomorph drones with helicopter gunships and destroying their hives with bunker busters.
Every scenario involving the creatures is just so contrived to make them seem more threatening than they actually are.
I'm currently at Sigma-13, any idea how I can enter these rooms? I'm meant to save one last Survivor and I'm pretty sure theyre hiding here, but I have 0 prompts for where I'm meant to reach these rooms
Why don't they just spam SHIVs to deal with the x-rays?
How's the performance? I think the game's more CPU intensive and I wonder how well my 7700k would fare
>final boss is just a qte bigger ayylmao
KWAB
Isn't that basically the case for the Aliens franchise as a whole.
You get eggs, facehuggers, drones, warriors then Queen.
>Can't play as the aliens
Dropped
>APC and dropship can carry a dozen Marines including an officer, two pilots and two civilians
>you're stuck with 4 Marines, later with 5
This game also has an insane number of blacks and browns.
>This game also has an insane number of blacks and browns.
it's future america
>competent straight white man gets knocked out permanently halfway
>all the badass men get killed
Pozzed game
Devs have gone lazy with the maps
>here's multiple Hadley's Hope clones
>here's a couple Nostromo-like maps
>prison planet? Yeah we got that too
>Prometheus/Covenant Engineer site? We didn't miss that
What were you expecting, City streets? Holiday resorts?
Fricking commies.
why is this in a fricking aliens game
>big bad is a shitty carbon copy of Dr. Church
ESG score
Cults exist in the Aliens setting, what is it that is making you upset?
WY is a shit company
pinkos always need to seethe at others wallets dreaming of getting their claws in them to waste it away
Don't they work for Weyland Yutani?
>Either fire them or let them get the shit kicked out of them in Mess
Based.
Doesn't the game take place in a situation where your unit is trapped in an alien-infected area?
Seems less they are getting fired and more they are getting firing squaded.
What happens with the "Mess Hall Brawling" event?
Are Darwin Era a Xenomorph Cult? Having one of your squaddies turn out to be something like that is pretty fricked.
Yes, they're led by a synth (multiple copies) of a dead mad WY scientist who got facehugged and worshipped the Engineers/xenos.
The cultists accelerate the game's events and you also get another slimy in-house xeno scientist who lets an ayy inside the ship too.
I don't like the final mission of this which has your normal squad of soldiers evac and then you do a scripted final mission with preset characters where the devs try to make it feel like a movie but it's too generic and boring and ruins the appeal of using generics which you've been doing the entire game
Should have copied XCOM and made the final mission happen with your actual soldiers
Is it at least easy and quick to get through compared to normal missions? Basically a victory lap?
You don't fight it, you just run away
>Basically a victory lap?
Yea it's pretty much this but I really didn't like it because it took me out of the moment way too hard.
You basically do this super long and hard mission with your actual squad and head back to evac but then out of nowhere you have to deal with the preset characters stealing the spotlight so they can do their victory lap mission and nothing even happens because they spend most of it running away and two characters have cutscene deaths so the last person escorts the VIP to the evac but it's a shitty escape segment as barely any xenomorphs spawn because you only have 1 soldier to control.
It would've been so much more fun to have this segment be done with your actual soldiers and make it be a desperate escape segment where you get the biggest swarm of xenomorphs while escorting the VIP so it's a real make or break situation that doesn't just completely take you out of the moment and fun
The current last mission feels so out of place for me because of how the entire game uses the generics.
I find it hard to believe that 4-5 Colonial Marines can undertake missions, sounds bullshit tbh because in the movie not only they were ambushed and got mogged immediately but the remaining survivors struggled mightily and were holed up in one location.
Too many Marvel quips
They don't even call each other Black folk and beaners like Hudson would, especially when the game throws a frickton of Black folk and mystery meat mutts at you
How many times are you gonna make the same post anon.
>everyone's a fricking black woman
I fricking love it bros
>we will never have a good deep space exploration movie again
Hurts
Are any of the aliens movies "Deep space exploration"?
They are more just Sci-Fi horror movies that have the characters instantly either coming into contact with the Ayys or travelling directly to the place because the Ayys are there.
I really, really want a good space exploration game with cool shit where I can fly around in a neat ship. Outer Wilds was pretty decent but too small in scale.
Lucky for you anon STARFIELD will be coming out soon!
It has over 1000 planets! With mountains you can climb!
I would at least marginally enjoy it if the ship stuff is decent and there is some crazy cool shit out there beyond a bunch of barren planets, but I doubt Bethesda would do anything too exciting.
I honestly hope a good modding community happens in that game to make it worth it.
The Isolation parts were kino, once again proving that Alien > Aliens.
COME ON YOU SLUGS
also the facehugger scene was good fuel for my dick
DOUBLE TIME
With all the feedback I genuinely wonder how long it'll take for a qol patch to either change or lessen the movement voice lines
Facehuggers would be better if they had veganas you stuck your dick in rather than dicks they stuck down your throat.
You'd just knock up the dickhugger then it would get pregnant and give birth to a Xenofriend, who would be chill instead of trying to kill you and we could be friends as a species.
>COME ON, YOU bawdS
cool game
Just redeployed to continue the mission in Dead Hills, and so far I'm enjoying it. It's definitely got some flaws, and starts way too slow, but I'm surprised with how good the game is for essentially coming out of nowhere (for me at least).
My only real complaints is the missions feel way too long (maybe because it starts pretty easy, so it's dragging a little), and the lack of any sort of OST. Somebody modding in the Alien Trilogy soundtrack would be great.
Wow, would be cool if devs add dlc with stealth missions and with ability drop nukes on infested planets and play as Synts like Bishop.
I'll wait for that Avatar game.
Kinda tired of edgelord ayy trash
Avatar vers doesn't have Predator lore.
I picked nightmare, played until the 2nd day, and man is it a fricking nightmare. I extracted at 39% because someone was dying.
It feels like you can't do anything without command point skills and need the ACR to be right outside the door during a massive onslaught.
How the frick do you do this bros
>goes in blind to a strategy game
>chooses hardest difficulty named "nightmare"
>complains when he gets his shit kicked in
Those albino fricks are so fricking lame.
I think they're cool.
They are a bald oversized cancer on the entire franchise.
Respectfully disagree, but you are entitled to your opinion.
they're not too bad but honestly, creatively speaking, compared to the OG space-jockey setpiece they're bankrupt.
Basically this. I liked Prometheus and even Covenant to an extent because the engineers, androids and themes about life and creation are cool, but still not nearly as cool as weird fossil-elephant-chair man, which detracts a lot from the original movie. I wish they wouldve kept the engineers and space jockeys as separate civilizations.
They're making Alien Romulus rn and with the Disney acquisition I imagine they're trying to throw a bunch of stuff at the wall and see what sticks and where they can take the IP.
Funny fact about Alien is that Dan O'Bannon created and pushed the movie to direct himself, wrote the script, made visuals and effects, and was the guy who contacted Giger since both worked on Jodos Dune, but wasnt let to direct the movie by 20th Century Fox. Then thy scrambled through directors and no one wanted to do it. They forced Ridley Scott, and he also didnt wanted to, and arrived halfway production.
When the movie was a hit Ridley took all the credit for it. Then all Ridleys career start to kinda make sense that he's been a guy that falls upwards mostly.
20thCF are morons though as usual (and were forever) and didnt knew what to do next. Then Cameron arrived and presented them, what he called a million dollar idea, and wrote on a whiteboard "Alien$". He had an idea and script but wanted to direct it. 20th suits were always scrambling and said sure, do whatever. The rest is history.
When Blomkamp was going to do an actual Aliens 2, Ridley comes out of nowhere claiming he's the dad of the franchise and wants to do a slop. Blomkamp gets shafted like O Bannon did basically in pro of Ridleys favor, and Prometheus slop is made. Its a superb work on visual effects, in a superb example of horrible writing, pacing and stupidity. Nepo hollywisraeliness at its finest. Jesus its so stupid. Covenant is even more pretentious.
So true Alien 3 never ever. I liked Alien3 tho. Guilty pleasure
The first Alien movie was lightning in a bottle. That homosexual Ridley has proven time and time over that he's a fricking hack.
>New thing bad!
Anon the prequel alien movies were fricking terrible movies even on their own merits.
I liked them. Not everyone has to like or dislike the same thing, Anon.
Prometheus is a dogshit script filmed beautifully. Covenant is a dumb script filmed beautifully. They did alright things for the lore, even if they are crappy movies and they kinda miss the grungy dark dystopian tone of original films.
Also by shooting down Blunderkamp's fanfic reboot project.
moronic thing bad
reminder these guys speak an ancient indo-european language because they seeded Europeans on earth. They are basically ancient aliens + out of antarctica theory rolled into one which is why so many israelite critics hated the movie.
It gets harder.
looking into it and this is basically what i always imagined a good alien game would be except i wanted this general idea in first person shooter/alien isolation type game. ill take a isometric rts with these ideas though.
Man, I hope mods come to this game. The characters are fricking ugly lol.
Videogames for the Aliens franchise are not known for having attractive characters.
What about Call from alien 4?
Cumbloods get out
What difficulty?
I'm a gay homosexual baby who savescums, but I thought maybe I would go xcom purist ironman this time.
This fricking deployment screen audio bug is really pissing me off. You can almost here the snare drum that keeps cutting out in the back.
Patch is coming to mute DOUBLE TIME!! By the way
Why are so many Aliens games getting made now
It's not like there was a recent movie
Any Linux bros around?
I pirated the game to try it out, but I'm getting this annoying error
>DX12 is not supported on your system
Despite having VKD3D enabled in Lutris, latest version everything. I saw reports that it was running fine on Steam Deck, so this has to be a outside-of-Steam thing.
Any ideas of what could be the problem? I already tried multiple wine builds and versions of VKD3D and DXVK. Same thing always.
I'm running it on steam/proton, no problems.
I don't like paying for games that are windows only, but if supporting steam means getting more devel on wine and proton then I will.
What kernel are you on? I don't understand what else I could be missing. Except for some magic sauce that Steam's Proton is doing that I'm not replicating with Lutris.
6.3.8, but unlikely to get the problem, must be some wineprefix comfiguration or startup option
Yeah...frustrating
I know I could just buy it but the 'tism makes me want to figure out what's wrong first
If you're still here and feel generous, would you mind uploading the wine prefix directory somewhere? Last ditch effort to see if I can piggy back off of what is already there to launch it
Update, -dx11 makes it run. Still frustrating that dx12 doesn't, because I just tested another game that uses dx12 and that one works with vkd3d no problem.
loosing a bit too many marines here
It’s good but the enemy variety is shit.
You fight drones, warriors, runners, crushers, praetorians, facehuggers and queens. That’s it. I get they wanted to stay faithful to the movies but they could’ve easily introduced more xeno types.
>Another 'just soot da funny aliems until they stop moving xD' game
I want Isolation 2 damnit!
I never really understood the appeal of Isolation honestly. The alien is almost too omnipresent, I cant walk 10 feet in the station after the medical section without tripping over it and having to lock myself in a cupboard, repeatedly, because the alien never just wants to frick off, even if it hasnt seen me. I also dont feel like the limited combat and crafting add much to the gameplay. I'm a huge Amnesia TDD fan with like 50 hours in it, that game understood that the monster encounters need to be spaced out to give the story time to develop and let the player breathe and focus on the atmosphere and progression.
Get the mod that removes the Aliens player tether, makes it a lot more organic when you encounter it during non-scripted scenes
Sex with xeno queens.
>normal starts as fitting lax challenge
>becomes a cakewalk after you get couple levels on your marines
I hate when games do this. Dead Hills mine was tense. Then bursted the second queen without an effort just with two sentries, two bursts of napalm and some suppressing fire.
Why would she need your sperm, haha? Some kind of weird genetic fusion, haha?
Nerver understood the hate for Prometheus, it's not that bad
Its fricking horrible, my dude. You dont get it because youre a zoomer and Marvel is all you knew and ever will.
*SIPS*
I like to think I'm playing the Sarge anyway.
Is there any character customisation like xcom?
I still can't believe IGN rated this higher than alien isolation
Not saying this game is shit, just saying alien isolation is a masterpiece
Alien Isolation is a boring walking simulator.
>le immorshon
have a nice day
Isolation was alright but really fell apart the moment you got your hands on the flamethrower.
>not being a gigachad and using the shotgun to stun the alien and then hide from it
you didn't beat the game
just looked up gameplay
>top down shit
>can’t even play as the xenomorph
Yeah I’m not playing this fricking rancid garbage
wow they stole amnesia's name, incredibly truly
When they introduced the OG APC they should have allowed the player to bring a squad of 10 just like in the movie.
Also I saw from gameplay footage from israelitetubers that ayys attack sentry guns instead of just mindlessly charging towards their objective and they don't even retreat.
>uhm, this isn't exactly like in the movie...
Dumb autismo.
Extremal kino
Is it true that resources are limited, and at some point you will literally run out of ammo with no way to get any more?
Yes especially in higher difficulty
Your Marines will always have a pistol that does nothing to the ayys
dropped until they have respawning resources
The point of Aliens is that even if you have Marines with big guns there's always going to be more ayys and they will almost always run out of ammo
The last levels where you fight WY commandos burn ammo counters faster than every ayy smaller than the Praetorian
NTA and I get the idea behind it but it's a really fricking weird concept for a parasitic species that can produce at most one drone per intact human. Zerg rushing is incredibly unsuitable to Xeno biology. Aliens was a great movie but damn the concept was pretty moronic
In-game these are heavily settled towns and cities with hundreds if not thousands of people, not 150ish like Hadley's Hope
the game doesn't zerg your squad with xenos all the time, usually you'll only encounter 1-2
then on primary objectives the game revolves around holding in place to defend against zerg rushing against a few dozen xenomorphs
at max aggro the most corpses i've seen were like 50 which isn't a lot considering that most areas in the game were highly populated
Just started but no its not true from what Im seeing, just got the game and your squad always walks in with one mag in the gun and 1 backup per soldier, and you can take upgrade ammo pouches to bring more. If you run out of ammo you can pull out, wait a day, then redeploy to get the minimum again. There's also another upgrade that replenishes ammo to deployment minimum when you rest by sealing your squad in a room. I can see all this within 2 deployments, there might be more options later
Uhm actually it was Company policy, she did the right thing and it really wasn't her problem anyway depending on how you look at it, I mean she's just some deputy admin and not even the top dog for the station so she did the best she could, plus the ship was going to breach containment protocol and risk losing our valuable specimens out in space where they cant easily be recovered
She killed thousands.
