there aren't many pokemon that can live that long and he probably didn't give a frick about battling.
Being immortal means he needs Pokemon that are also immortal or at the very least long-lived. Golurk and Sigilyph are the former, Torkoal is the latter.

If you think about it. There is a lot of Unova mons on Kalos, I found that to be curious the first time I played the game, and also the Zekrom and Reshiram statues in the parfum palace where you can also see Bisharp statues and a monument of a trainer with a Golurk and a Palpitoad.

In fifth gen there was a side quest related to Darkrai and Cresselia, and you were gifted the Creation Trio's orbs by the Shadow Triad for example.
In seventh gen there was the entire quest related to Zygarde, with a dungeon that was a shortened version of his dungeon in X and Y.

Oof. I may hate on X/Y a lot, and is honestly the point of no return in terms of quality, but at least compared to future games, I can see the makings of something really great and special. Between all the work that has to go into new 3d models/animations, the pokemon amie system, the mega Evos, and cosmetics, I feel like they completely ran out of time due to overambition. I honestly wonder what it'd be like if a Z released. Would people view it like they did R/S or D/P?

All of the Ultra Beast/alien type shit was originally supposed to be in XY, but was removed and used in Alola. At least according to that one Medium article about the demo-datamining but seems credible enough.
It’s fair to say most video games in general are never 100% finished in the way developers want, but I do wish XY had been treated better. All negative things considered I do like the Kalos setting

So, despite loving these games as much as you do (otherwise you wouldn't be this insistent on trying to refute any criticism that's made against them), you prefer that they never released an enhanced version that would've added more to the game like proper E4 rematches, additional areas, Zygarde getting its additional forms a generation earlier, and other QoL such as more mega stones being accessible prior to the postgame?
why exactly would I care about any of these if I actually play battle facilities and PvP instead of being a moronic campaignshitter? Like E4 rematches? Really? Being able to click Thunderbolt against Siebold an extra 5 times would make you pay $40 for the game again?
