Pokémon growth is unstoppable because it has multi generation appeal. Adults who grew up with the franchise as well as children discovering it all the time. It’s like Star Wars before Disney took over.
I just wanna see it beat Tanabe’s Paper Mario, maybe then Nintendo will finally have to admit they were wrong to try and Mario RPGs into something different for no reason.
They won’t, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it does a lot of damage to the game. Despite being the fastest selling Nintendo game, it got outsold this year by Switch Sports and Animal Crossing (which has already sold more and been out longer). Pokemon sales are shit when you realize Mario Kart 8 doubled Mario Kart Wii’s 30 million. Pokemon still can’t beat Red and Blue even with the Switch boost.
The top 3 GBA titles are Pokemon. X and Y are second place for the 3DS within a span of about 2 million units to Mario Kart 7 for the 3DS- leaving aside third and fourth place also being Pokemon titles. The Nintendo DS is the only place where the gap was so notable with multiple titles rising above. Right now, we're at a 50:50 on when Pokemon is on top.
And that's because there are games that are usually on the console space that are competing with Pokemon. Otherwise the growth is bigger than their handheld showings. And my post was Pokemon not being the top spot.
Okay, so don't ignore the parts about that if you're not bothereed about the rest. They were on top on the GBA as well. They're now 3 against 3 for being on top.

No, I'm not your boogeyman. I'm someone who saw you answer another anon with false info and corrected it. All you can do is sperg out instead of accepting it and moving on.

anon my point was Pokemon wasn't on top, you know first? I missed GBA sure but not the rest
and like I said, their Switch growth was way more massive than the handhelds, despite having to share space with the rest.

I don't care about your point. If the other guy cares about what you have to say, maybe he'll respond. Again. I made a correction. That's it.

you should have only corrected the GBA because I missed it out otherwise I don't give a shit about 2nd or 3rd
Pokemon games have a short tail because they’re like Marvel flicks. They’re cultural events that everyone consumes the week they come out and then forgets about the following week. The sales of every current Gen completely vanish as soon as the next Gen hits the market. Animal Crossing and Switch Sports are also mostly played by non gamers who don’t even follow the industry.
What? Typical mainline Pokemon titles have very long tales across their console generation. Sword and Shield are STILL selling this long after the fact.
Gen 5 was the last time they put any effort in and added lots of extra side things to do (especially in B/W2) but people kept b***hing about WHERE'S MUH JOHTO POKEYMANS so it sold bad.
>and added lots of extra side things to do
Like removing safari and others features from previous gens without adding anything in exchange? > and added lots of extra side things to do
XY exist, no matter how hard you try to memory hole it, kiddo
>mario >mario >pokemon >zedla >mario >zedla >pokemon >mairo
Amazing list
Oh, and >ringfit adventure
And I can play all that in the back seat of my parents car while they drive me to summer camp? So cool.
man zoomers are moronic >why did they stop updating AC it's so big with sales
imagine saying that years ago on every other game that sold million bucks
We get updated numbers through the CESA Whitepapers when they come along for titles that don't manage to do over a million past their fiscal launch year. It's an active thing for a title on an active platform that hasn't launched super long ago, so keeping that in mind is reasonable- especially when looking at a kind of genre that tends to fall off hard with some exceptions like Pokemon.
Never mind Superstars, Super Mario Party is STILL selling, after 20 million sales, even after Superstars came out.
You'd think the two would be cannibalizing each other's sales but they're just both selling at same time.
They're not even that good entries. Since when was there this much demand for Mario Party?
Super mario party selling is evidence that the gaming population is moronic and just buy what their friends bought when there's a clearly better version
After the honeymoon period, people realized it was just a complete re-hash of BotW with a poorly implemented building mechanic tacked on. The people who sing its praises most these days are the diehard ZeLink homosexuals, and those dipshits never cared one iota about gameplay or story.
uh, are you looking at the same chart because it has absolutely bigger legs
After the honeymoon period, people realized it was just a complete re-hash of BotW with a poorly implemented building mechanic tacked on. The people who sing its praises most these days are the diehard ZeLink homosexuals, and those dipshits never cared one iota about gameplay or story.
Most Nintendo fans knows they can't have everything in the same system, so they play PC or even Playstation.
Most PS fans I know are so mindbroken, they can't understand how a game won't run on their PS4/5, so instead of buying a different system, they either dismiss (Breath of the Wild wasn't even that good) or say it's "anti-consumer" to have exclusives attached to their systems ( Bayonetta2/3, Halo, etc)
Snoys crying about exclusives being "anti consumer" while Sony has spent the past decade paying publishers to keep games off rival platforms is peak fricking irony
Funny, considering Sony used to have one of my favorite exclusives. If Sony wants to be a brand and not a platform for developers then port the trilogy and Pumped & Primed to PC already.
yes, that's exactly how every Sony fanboy I met through life is.
ngl, I was a massive Sony fan until the snoy shit happened in 2016-18 and but since I played on 3DS and PC too, the the fanboy friends I had even called me a fake Sony fan. After I got my Switch, they even started to call me traitor and hater, until I deleted and blocked them all from my friend lists.
Sony fanbase is literally the same as some shit religion cult you can find out there.
People have always loved Mario Party. Unless you're talking about Clubhouse Games in which case that also makes sense because it's a convenient online platform for playing a whole frickload of classic board games online with people.
I bought the dual pack. Not my style. Long chains of inputs to get to a function like the launcher or whatever is not my preferred style of action games. Origins was really good though. Shame about its sales
>Xeno DE = 1 910 000 >Xeno 2 = 2 740 000 >Xeno 3 = 1 910 000
looks like fanservice won >Mario RPG = 3 140 000
HOLY FRICKING BASED!! >FE3H = 4 120 000
I know the game is good and fun but will never understand how it sold like that. still need to go back and beat the routes I left behind. >Kirby Forgotten Land = 6 960 000
BASED!!! >no Bayonetta Origins
it fricking hurts
Warioware niche was already served, and it’s a bit expensive for what it is. I have interest but haven’t pulled the trigger yet because of that
Bayo Origins is a combination of Bayo 3’s mixed reception and stupid people likening it to an indie game and balking at the price
>over
Mistyped that, there are exactly 21 confirmed
your fricking table only shows there's 21 games selling that, why lie?
Where's the lie?
>65 games above 1m
>21 games above 10m
That is an amazing number for Tennis Aces
why does MK8 keep selling
That Booster Course Pass really helped it huh
NINTENDO ALWAYS WINS BABY
>almost 100M cumulative sales of mainline Pokémon games on Switch, above 100 with spinoffs
And there's probably one more this year.
something something that anon claiming pokemon didn't grow during switch
Pokémon growth is unstoppable because it has multi generation appeal. Adults who grew up with the franchise as well as children discovering it all the time. It’s like Star Wars before Disney took over.
I know
Just saying there's that autist claiming it "didn't grow".
them kids do love pokemon, eh?
>outsells half your Nintendo slop in 5 business days
nothing personal barry
Mario rpg outsold ff16
No, it took mario rpg 3 months to sell 3 million. FF16 hit that number at launch week back in june, it's probably at 5+ million by now.
what kind of cope is this
FF16, Squeenix's flagship title with a $150m budget is competing with a throwaway remake of a 28 year old game made by a D tier auxiliary developer.
Squesisters...........it's over.
>3 million Mario RPG sales
GENO WON
MALLOW WON
MARIO RPG WOOOON
Really love to see it!
Obviously not skipping Europe like the bad old days helped this time
Would be funny if Super Mario RPG ended up beating FFVII Remake in the end.
I just wanna see it beat Tanabe’s Paper Mario, maybe then Nintendo will finally have to admit they were wrong to try and Mario RPGs into something different for no reason.
That's a guarantee at this point. Also heartening is Skyward Sword's 4,150,000 to Link's Awakening's 6,600,000
>top-down, surreal, Twin Peak- inspired, classic Zelda doing better than Zelda Wii Sports
Feels great.
It would feel a lot better if they released a completely new game. ALBW was over a decade ago.
Well it's only got 300k to go so I'm pretty sure that's gonna happen
Wtf octopath is the only game on there that isnt nintendo.
Because it's a list of first party games
wrong
>Pokemon Gens 8 & 9 at a combined 50M sales
>3 billion dollar gross excluding DLC
>People think Gen X will have effort put into it
They won’t, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it does a lot of damage to the game. anon the only time Pokemon was the top seller in their space was GB/GBC. otherwise they've been handily beaten by Nintendogs, Mario Kart, etc.

I was expecting SMRPG to sell 2m lifetime. 3m in 3 months is insane.
Why do you have to keep reposting a chart from a homosexual who made up a lot of these numbers and just said "trust me, bro"?
Why has reporting shifted from units sold to units shipped?
>Why has reporting shifted from units sold to units shipped?
Where does it say that?
man zoomers are moronic
>why did they stop updating AC it's so big with sales
imagine saying that years ago on every other game that sold million bucks
>seeing Pikmin on the charts
Just happy Wario Get it Together is on there
>Mario RPG already outsold the original game by over a million units
>only needs about 300k more sales to pass Origani King
*So far as we know of the last reported numbers. That's a year unaccounted for.
We can only use the data we have available. Trying to project for mythical unknown sales is useless.
We get updated numbers through the CESA Whitepapers when they come along for titles that don't manage to do over a million past their fiscal launch year. Superstars is good
>mario party with online
>super mario party is first mario party with new systems
isnt superstars good? i was thinking of buying it. a best-of mario party sounds great?
Yeah, fun with irl friends and fun when you can get a game going with Ganker.
it's alright but i wish they had gone all out and added more boards and minigames from across the series
Super mario party selling is evidence that the gaming population is moronic and just buy what their friends bought when there's a clearly better version
>Pikmin now standing above all Xenoblade
Kneel to the real family-man series, gooners.

kek
Smash Ultimate still outsold all of your tranime JRPGs. 😉
I kneel.
>Praising your favorite game = seething over another
Lol JarPig shitters really love to start shit huh
why make the comparison then scrimblo gay
>Xenobaby can’t take banter
Heh
what banter?
>Splatoon 3 now less than 2 million behind Splatoon 2
Can it catch it?
I think it will. They’ll start promoting it more with Side Order, which should push it past the finish line
TotK's legs are absolutely garbage for such a recent game.
After the honeymoon period, people realized it was just a complete re-hash of BotW with a poorly implemented building mechanic tacked on. The people who sing its praises most these days are the diehard ZeLink homosexuals, and those dipshits never cared one iota about gameplay or story.
And that's a good thing. Open-world garbage is cancer.
uh, are you looking at the same chart because it has absolutely bigger legs
Ganker is not a good metric
TOTK was released at a time when there were far more Switches than when BOTW released, so of course the sales are more frontloaded.
Thank god. Lazy rehashes shouldn't sell.
Good
>3.7M people were stupid enough to buy 1-2 Switch
Grim
can someone explain to me why nintendo is the only vidya company where its userbase actively buys games purely because its made by them?
>hurr durr all their games are good
no, no they are not, especially not compared to older generations of nintendo hardware.
makes zero sense, biased polling
Most Nintendo fans knows they can't have everything in the same system, so they play PC or even Playstation.

What's the criteria of this research? It's absolutely wrong. There's no way the average Xbox consumer is more loyal than that of Nintendo, for example
What the basis for your assertion?
Anecdotal evidence
>a skit and some random small fry shit
You have these offhand to reference?
The poll shows they are about the same.
>it must be blind fanboys, there's no chance people are actually enjoying the games
anon literal boardgames on seitch are outselling AAA games, it makes zero sense to me
People have always loved Mario Party. Unless you're talking about Clubhouse Games in which case that also makes sense because it's a convenient online platform for playing a whole frickload of classic board games online with people.

Insane numbers, unironically, HOW?
More of you homosexuals need to buy the Bayonetta games.
I bought the dual pack. Not my style. Long chains of inputs to get to a function like the launcher or whatever is not my preferred style of action games. Origins was really good though. Shame about its sales
Bayonetta was never good.
homie I an only buy them so many times
I bought 1 4 times now (360, PC, Wii U, Switch) and I've bought 2 twice
>Xeno DE = 1 910 000

it fricking hurts
Reminder that Nintendo actually just revised their FY forecast UPWARDS in this report. Absolutely unreal for year 7.
>no warioware move it
>no bayo origins
damn, what went wrong there?
Warioware niche was already served, and it’s a bit expensive for what it is. I have interest but haven’t pulled the trigger yet because of that
Bayo Origins is a combination of Bayo 3’s mixed reception and stupid people likening it to an indie game and balking at the price
The last Warioware entry was better and most Wariogays are sick of the Ware series. Bayonetta was never a good series so that isn't surprising.
Origins should've been priced at 40 dollars. I enjoyed it decently.
Also I really like this song. https://youtu.be/yMbTZC73TS0?si=pmeWFgepu07jhFjD
So I guess no updates on kirby sales?
>20m in six-ish months is disappointment
what is Ganker drinking
Love seeing Kirby and the Forgotten Land do so well. Excellent game, and makes me really optimistic for the series future
