i just started world, is it necessary later to play with other people? i enjoy it single player
There are like two late game monsters that kinda require a full team to beat and you can still do it solo it's just harder that way

You can easily finish the entire story single player even if it's your first MH game
Some post-game hunts will be pretty challenging but not unreasonable.
You can solo everything, Alatreon and Fatalis will frick you up but Fatalis at least can be comfortably solo'd while Fatalis demands you use a specific element and do high DPS if you're going in solo
World is Simulation Mode, Rise is Arcade Mode. I haven't gotten around to playing Sunbreak yet so I don't know how much that improves Rise, but World + Iceborne is the better experience than base Rise.
I stopped progressing the main quest simply so serious handler be my partner forever.

Shitposting and tribalism homosexualry aside, World at the moment has a pretty complete endgame that you can sink into if you have Iceborne and the final monsters in the post-game are well-made and rewarding to defeat. Only problems I had with the game are unskippable cutscenes andclutch claw which was mainly a free wallbang and knockdown mechanic
Rise is great in the aspect that you have much more control over your character and some weapons except hunting horn have more variety in movesets because you can change how your weapon works and now because of sunbreak you can switch inbetween movesets in the middle of battle. Main problem in rise is Rampages in the base game are pretty shitty and you're forced to do at least 4 or 5 and endgame in Sunbreak is pretty lackluster until the new updates hit.
so get both games
