Guys, I want to join. I've never played Fallout before. I need mods. However all I want are visual mods so that I can pretend it's not ancient. Is there anything you can recommend? I want something that keeps the "feel" of the game in tact as much as possible, because from my experience looking through Skyrim mods most visual mods are not very pleasant to the eyes, full of oversaturation and bloom and whatnot.
viva new vegas, there is a simple guide. Ignore gameplay mods and frick visual mods. Piss filter is where it's at
grow a pair and accept not every game is going to look on par with real life. In some ways it benefits the atmosphere of the game. At most get a mod to reduce or remove the color filter like Clarity, but keep in mind in vanilla you're only going to see that piss filter if you're out in the desert, so if you're really tired of that color filter just go to another location like Cottonwood Cove

You really don't need all those texture mods, they only make game looks worse and extremely unstable
Also I recommend switching to Vulkan with DXVK
do your first playthrough with just some basic bugfixes at most.

If Vault-Tec (the Enclave) is powerful enough that they have left over nuclear bombs to destroy cities like Shady Sands, why didn't they use them when the Brotherhood and the NCR were on the verge of wiping them out? One directed at the Boneyard and another at Lost Hills would have instantly won them the war. Instead they only use the bomb when an overseer's wife escapes to the surface decades after the west coast Enclave are reduced to a bunch of geriatrics in hiding.
