I don't think I'll ever finish the game, it's just so repetitive. Should have been a 40 hour game, not a 100+ one.
Every year I replay it from the beginning (because it feels awkward to jump in an old savefile) and get a little further than before. Last time I beat two of the three areas and quit in the mountain area.
I don't even hate the combat, the bigger problem for me is traversing and dialogue. Jesus christ I fricking hate those copy pasted peasant npcs that just have "secondary character" plastered all over their faces. Say what you want about JRPGs but at least they try to make you have a good time when interacting with secondary characters.
>Say what you want about JRPGs
JRPGs don't have a world this size (or beautiful) nor with this much handcrafted quests.
>JRPGs don't have a world this size nor this much handcrafted quests
Is that an excuse for not putting any effort on the NPCs that are involved in the quests? Xenoblade Chronicles 2/3 did it fine
Open world is a meme and the game gets boring fast. I also never finished it. If devs insist on continuing to do open world shit, they need to start innovating heavily in the movement department. I don't want to fricking run through the forest or the city streets anymore. Give me a flight ability. give me flying mount. Give me something. If your game has fast travel, you might as well.
>handcrafted quests
Secondary quests that do not matter at all inthe progression of the game and that award you with items that level scale with you, the average JRPG isn't that casual.
Its not 100 hours tho? Maybe stop doing the "?" garbage filler
Lions don't care for the opinions of sheep.
Correct, the opinions of the sheep that play AAA slop do not matter, if they did matter then they wouldn't play AAA slop.
>Ganker pass customer
Opinion vigorously disregarded
>Every year I replay it from the beginning (because it feels awkward to jump in an old savefile) and get a little further than before. Last time I beat two of the three areas and quit in the mountain area.
>Ugh why can't I finish this game!?
I don't know, but it truly is a masterpiece, even the combat is growing on me as long as I play higher difficulties. Dying to one or two blows is the proper way.
I really liked the game but I got to be honest, the good part of the game is some of the interaction with characters within quests and the music, everything else is dogshit, the graphics are merely eye candy here in the end so
Man Witcher 3 is good game that I couldnt get into.
When i played I wished I was just playing skyrim.
it took me 3 times to get into it
i think the problem was the pacing at the begining, when you start to get into the investigation quests it gets interesting
and i finished it, sadly the dlc hearts of stone bore me to dead so i dropped it.
>i think the problem was the pacing at the begining
opposite for me, I love the beginning, then you realize that the game only has 2 or 3 types of quest and it's super repetitive
See that mountain?
I literally can't even be bothered completing the starting place, Vhelen or some shit. Geralt walks around with a stick up his ass for some reason.
Do what? Make a game with both shitty action and shitty roleplaying?
I think that's where I turned the game off.
I guess I should give it a go again, but I never understood the love for it.
Are you implying you only played 3 and not the other 2? Surely you're not another pleb who started with 3, right anon?
Why wouldn't I start with 3? I don't care about the story.
gameplay is kinda meh but I think I should give this game another go, looks comfy.
It's the best game in the genre at what it does. You want to know what a century-old mutant vagabond monster slayer's life would be like? It's the game for you. It's not always glorious and sometimes it's tedious, and that's what it should be.
Decided to replay it today. Forgot how good the soundtrack is
3>1 >> 2 (OST-wise and in general I guess)
For me? It's Silver for Monsters, Hunt or be Hunted and Another Round For Everyone.
For me its steel is for humans, you're immortal and crones theme
How was the next gen update? Actually good?
Yes.
Selfshadowing did amazing things to the woods. It looks great.
What's the "next gen" upgrade like? I might replay the DLC's these days
Your videogame, sir.
I don't get why kids these days can't see something on a map without having to check out. What is this autism? You can just ignore 50-80% of these stuff, but they get this tism where if it's there, they have to do it, and then the game becomes a slog for some reason. I don't get it since it's not like the game forces you to do all that shit.
>just don't explore the world of an open-world game while hoping to find something
Yes, but because you explore it does not mean you have to engage with it. You can do a few contracts, a few secondary quests, but not necessary all. It seems to me there's no compromise here, and is either 8 or 80. That's why I call it a bit of autism, it feels like obsession or a tick. It's really weird. kek
The whole game was ruined because they tried to imitate Skyrim, Ubishit and follow an ongoing open-world trend.
I really don't see that, but alright.
I have this illness and I had to deactivated them and and the quest locations for my replay of the game for this reason. I missed a lot but It greatly improved my experience.
Heh. Did all "???" when first got to skellige. Got tons of money to spend on witcher gear and cool armor and swords that carried me almost till endgame. Totally worth on first run
I love this game but it needs to die and never be made again. The end of an era story of.
That's exactly what they are doing. W4 won't continue the story. It will pass right after the first Witcher schools were founded.
