Act 1 was just the tutorial, Act 2 was the prologue, the real game was supposed to start in Act 3.
The weird part is that it was only a month ago that they were hyping up how huge bg city is and that all three areas would be in the game and that they made them seamless. What changed in just a single month? The trailer clearly makes the city look much bigger than what we got in the game. Is it because the performance in the city was too shit?

The game ends with you Karlachwife (and possibly Wyll) going to hell to fight devils the line about Zariel was a joke (although Wyll and Karlach state multiple times she's going to come fore them if they go back to hell).

I feel like the reason the only CHA class companion is Wyll (who I don't think even has speech proficiencies) is because Larian kinda wants you to roll a paladin/sorc/bard first time so Tav gets to be the face.
I was kinda concerned about rolling a non-CHA face first, but it was totally fine. If anything, going INT first (wizard) led to some cool interactions since I doubt the CHA classes got all the Arcana, Religion, History, Medicine and Survival checks I did.

Also, don't get discouraged in act 2. It doesn't have less content, it's just harder to find because of the way the area is designed.

Yeah, current act 3 is basically only 25% of what they actually made. We're missing Upper City and Avernus. Also the tadpole mechanics were trivialized and made to have no consequences. Cazador was supposed to have a bigger tie in with main plot. Soul coins were supposed to be used with Raphael to trade for legendary artifacts. The original vision was so much better, hopefully definitive edition adds most of this back in. A lot of cut subclasses too. Kinda weird they cut so much.
It's a shame but not weird. Game has to release at some point. Every single game has cut content but ofc It's easier to notice on bigger games.

They ran out of time, act 1 and act 2 were perfect imo. When they release DE this will be an all time classic, we'll also have plenty of mods by then as well. I did 2 playthroughs of this back to back and I never do replays, game is just that good.
