All who enter the Dark World assume a form that reflects their true self.

All who enter the Dark World assume a form that reflects their true self. Without the protection of the Moon Pearl, Link assumes the form of a bunny rabbit.

Deep inside, Link is a cute bunbun.

Considering how many anthro husbandos/waifus have been in recent Zelda, I wouldn’t be surprised if they brought back bunny Link.

I always thought it was to represent his courage. Like this Link is just a kid who used to live with his uncle and now he is trying to save the world but he is still just a kid with a fancy sword.

      >Down the rabbit hole.
      >Dark World.
      >"I'm late."

You guys haven't done your homework at all. Time travel. Forgetfulness. "Rabbit hole." Trauma. It's in almost everything, and you're still asleep. HOW???

Incorrect. It reflects the person's heart, not their "true self", whatever the frick that even means.

How is it that LTTP have so much charm? Even among a charming serious, especially the 2D games, it still comes off special. I can't say its nostalgia either, I played it a little as a kid, but I didn't have a SNES.

I think 90% of it is the soundtrack.

Thats a good point. SNES had one of the best sound chips out of all of Nintendo's systems. N64 didn't have one at all, GBA's wasn't as good, GB/C were weak there too. And as you move to later consoles music in games gets more forgettable as it gets more complex and had to play for longer amounts of time so it had to blend in so you don't get bored of it.

I think it may also be how colorful it is in its sprites. GBA Minish cap is a bit saturated and most stuff past that goes 3D even if you play in 2D.

LTTP's soundtrack is charming but too short and the sound quality wasn't excellent by console standards

The actual soundfont isn't the best but all the compositions are pretty great. I think the only song I don't really care for is that minigame song.

That said I played a romhack that had a MSU-1 soundtrack and QoL shit like turning with pegasus boots and it reignited my love for the game. I played it on my surround sound setup too so I was actually kind of impressed with the sound design. Obviously the MSU-1 music is higher quality than possible on a SNES, but the game actually takes advantage of the rear speakers. The sword beam will travel left and right, and forward and back. Little things like that add a lot.

I know I'm rambling now but it's pretty cool how many SNES games actually take advantage of the rear speakers. The ship creaks in DKC2. The whip upgrade sound comes out all around you in Super Castlevania IV. I was surprised. I think there's a RPG or something that got panned for its music, but it ended up being that the soundtrack was actually supposed to be played with surround sound and nobody had it. I don't remember what it was

Oh certainly. If generally too short, and also not nearly enough of it. But then that's kinda par for the course for zelda

It's the overall package, but the music, colors and art direction really brings it all home.
Koji Kondo REALLY doesn't get enough credit for the shit he did with SMW and AttP in particular.
