It was good because it's persona 3, not because it's persona 3 reload, if that makes sense. All the changes they made just easify the combat and make the story digestible for trannies (RIP babe hunt). I literally game over'd only twice on hard mode when the original's hard was Nocturne tier difficult. The new hangout options just feel like watered down social links and since they were in Portable you can't really count them as new content, aside from Jesus' 3 events which don't really do much to make him any more fleshed out and Jin still sits there as the odd man out with zero character besides looking like a dork.
It’s better than those specific versions of 4 and 5. It’s not as easy as Royal so long as you pick merciless, and its new story additions aren’t awful like Golden. Scenes like the one where you put the medal on Akihiko, or talk to Mitsuru about the old SEES with Shinji made the whole remake worth the trouble. It’s still not the full experience of P3 because they where chickens and didn’t include the more controversial mechanics that gave the game its identity, but it’s a good version of the game despite only really replacing Portable.
As a person who only finished Persona, P2 Eternal Punishment, 3 Reload, 4 Golden, 5 and Q (1, dropped Q2 after three hours), ok and 5 Tactica lel, I can honestly say that Reload is my favorite.
It works great because ironically is a mess that try to mix FES, P3P and P5R.
Having only a Big tower to climb is better than mementos&Palace, It just made the flow and pace felt neat and in the end the game is not a chore like P5.
Limit breaks(yeah yeah, It had another Name but they are Limit breaks) made the combat felt a little different and ailment works more than the original(and in the original It were decent), It made the game not 'spam weakness' like others nusona
Story and character are like the OG, maybe they polished some villains (and thank god the new moments with the Party members , people like Akihiko or Junpei weren't flanderized like in P4A)
tldr - good Game, waiting for the DLC. I good remake for a great Game unlike P3P
It has both sexes as options, and they have a fair amount of exclusive content
They removed the 3d explorable areas like the mall, the dorm, and the school and they became just jpgs with menus like a VN
No FES content
Story wise I like 3. Gameplay wise I liked 4.
Overall 3 is my favorite.
I would of rather had a pc port of FES with the options for direct controls.
Personally I find P3 Fes easier than P4.Tactics is not hard to work with.
I wished that Reload would of made the ai smarter and expanded on tactics.
Like give a Buff tactic or something. But, no the game must conform to P5's game design.
I appreciate that Reload kept reverse links because I love the concept of it.
But, I wish they didn't neuter the tactics system.
Reload isn't bad, just like P5 isn't bad. It's just now what I was expecting. I have no interest in buying or playing Reload.
>But, I wish they didn't neuter the tactics system.
Why would you ever want to use the tactics system when you can just pick the right option? Would literally have AI not complete one mores and attack the downed enemy and frick up all out attacks in FES.
not the esl-kun but good tactics systems like in Dragon Quest really streamline random encounters since it's a bit tedious to input the same shit over and over. However this doesn't really work at all in Persona and SMT with how weaknesses and resistances work. When's the last time you fought a random enemy in a JRPG that reflected or absorbed physical attacks, stole your entire turn when your melee party member did an AOE, and then wiped you with magic your team was weak to?
Dance! Gonna put you in a trance! Everybody, work that body! Make sure you don't hurt nobody! I say hey, hey, hey! It's the nineteen ninetyfin! Come on, girl, let me rock your world
It's a shameless cashgrab that appeals to P5 kiddies.
Doesn't include all the features fans wanted brought back from FES and P3P, complete crap.

Didn't play it

Just the original but worse.
Better in every meaningful way
Except for the story, gameplay, and voice acting.

FES is the definitive P3 experience and I’m not about to pretend otherwise
Why do you care about reload? You should be comparing FES with the other two, not the remake that is trying to be Persona 5 2
>no one even gives a frick about this remake anymore
lmao

It's the best Persona game.
If that's the case then it's a pretty trash series

What is the difference between the original and PSP version? Just a gender swap, or did they change the gameplay itself?
