yeah about 30 minutes.. It was my first time doing any excercise at all after like 3 years so I guess my body is just not used to any physical activity lol
You're doing fine. The more important thing is consistency.
Also, have correct expectations about what you'll see physically. Especially because Ring Fit Adventure is basically pilates and so isn't a high resistance exercise.
I just want to get into exercising in general because I feel like too much of a lazy slob and thought this game could be a good start

Yeah. It is. If you actually beat the entire game (took me a few months playing about 30 minutes a day) you will have noticeably better conditioning.
My main point is your won't get real muscular doing pilates. Which is perfectly fine, just know what it is. It's a conditioning style of exercise.
Take it slow. You'll notice a huge jump in progress/energy in a month or 2. Going from NO activity to consistent light activity is very good. Going hard at the gym and then needing to rest for 4 days doesn't speed up your journey.
If you start lifting weights, don't go hard. One time I hadn't lifted in a while, and over extended a simple bicep curl, and hurt my elbow. It's dumb, but taking it easy has always sped up my progress when I haven't worked out in a while.
I'm 34 so I have had at least 4 serious "lazy" periods where I wasn't playing hockey AND my job wasn't physical.
Take frequent breaks. Slowing down can mean still doing the work, but pause and rest for 60 seconds.
I play ice hockey, and when I haven't played in years, I easily get back into it by timing my shifts or breaks to keep my heart rate in a good spot.
You are not going to "lose" your progress. Just sit down and rest for 5 minutes and fully recover. Then get back in when you are ready. The workout takes longer, but it's better than not working out at all. You will actually benefit a lot of you just take 2 hours to do a 1 hour workout, instead of half-assing your 1 hour workout with lazy reps and bad form.
There is a huge difference between your squats when you have energy and when you are tired and wishing the level was over.
to clarify before Ganker jumps in. A fat or out-of-shape person needs to start out very slow. The same principles of "gains" and "starting strength" etc don't apply to brand new people who have poor cardio. You really can gain strength by going on a hike. You being out of breath is enough to gain cardio. It's not necessary for you to "go hard" for 30 minutes straight.
I would go pretty easy for at least a month. It depends how out-of-shape anon is, but don't listen to people who are jacked and telling you to do the same workouts they do.

I miss when I didn't have a job and could play this every fricking day. I'm so fricking exhausted after work every damn day I can't even imagine playing this shit.
I put A LOT of time into it, too, I even set up my own custom route thing in the custom mode that I would loop for 1 hour that was primarily cardio jogging with squats and some abwork mixed in.
this shit kicked my fricking ass, had me lying on the ground exhausted as all shit, legs weak, trying my hardest not to throw up
I need to pick it up again
>it's over for me, isn't it
exactly the contrary, what matters is not where you are now but the fact that you're working on improving your condition, and with your physical shape it's simple and straightforward to
It definitely is if for no other reason than them frickin' squats.
I really enjoyed the hell out of the game. I can't believe it doesn't have a sequel yet. Actually, I can. Nintendo is king at squandering potential.
does it really need a sequel? I can see wanting more updates but it doesn't really need a whole new game
it'll probably get a sequel on the next system
If you are overweight and trying to get not fat then I would highly suggest focusing your efforts more on fixing your diet rather than putting all your eggs into ring fit basket hoping for results.
Don't get me wrong, cardio is a friend, it is GOOD. Ring fit is GOOD, but if you eat like shit and then play ring fit every day you will see NO fricking results at all. Focus food first and then incorporate cardio.
If you're already skinny then ignore all this and yeah just keep at it, it'll get you results if you're consistent though I prefer doing traditional ab/squat routines rather than relying on ring fit for those, I primarily like ring fit for fun "run in place" cardio with a resistance ring to push and pull to gather the coins and jump and open gates and shit
It's only over when you stop. If anything let this motivate you to do more. When I started running years ago I couldn't even do a quarter of a mile without feeling like I was gonna die and I had to powder my legs so they wouldn't chaff. Now I can run 5+ miles straight and no longer chaff. It's like crack once you get over that hill and start seeing gains.
>that is healthy and doesn't cost too much? >healthy
Biggest fricking meme unless you're into things like salads (veggies are cheap) or can find cheap $ per pound chicken. Just eat less for frick sake, it doesn't have to be healthy but IDEALLY yes healthy.
Protip: add eggs and greek yogurt to your daily intake, they are cheap and good calories to protein ratios
Just go slower if you almost passed out. What was your heart rate?
150 bpm
That's regular for cardio. How long did you play? 30 minutes or so?

You should be on the verge of passing out at 180bpm for an extended period of time, not 150bpm. Take it slow

Actual good post
Thanks for posting here, anon.
No. You keep a routine and your body will eventually optimize itself and adjust to the exercise
Take it slow, and stick to it. Consistency is what matters. If you keep shit up every day eventually you will improve.
yagmi anon

I wish I had a remote job from home bros..
Just do it. Do it in the morning or right after getting home.
LOL literally not possible, unless I go unemployed again and win back some freedom it's not happening
LOL fatass homosexual never gonna make it. Have another bowl of sugar homosexual
What time do you work anon?
9 till 2
wtf is this game really that good?
It's fine. It's not great, but I don't know a better exercise video game. I wish there was one, honestly.
this shit kicked my fricking ass, had me lying on the ground exhausted as all shit, legs weak, trying my hardest not to throw up
I need to pick it up again
I had to stop playing because I have downstairs neighbours
Keep going bud, they even make a point at the start that this isn't a one day event but a whole journey
>it's over for me, isn't it
exactly the contrary, what matters is not where you are now but the fact that you're working on improving your condition, and with your physical shape it's simple and straightforward to

People like to cope and sneed on Ganker but Ringfit is actual exercise if you do the motions properly
It definitely is if for no other reason than them frickin' squats.

I feel like the VR Space should have something better. Some people tried, but it's not there yet.
Honestly, I wish someone made a higher resistance ring if anything.

You can drink 4 gallons if fizzy drink and do ten mins of walking and lose weight
why do you fatfricks use toys to workout? homie you dont NEED this shit to get a workout
it's good to have options so you don't get bored Black person
>getting bored working out
You have never lifted a finger before
Toys are a distraction, P90X would be perfect for you only $499.00 for the pull up bar, resistance bands, weights, yoga mat...
Spending money to git gud is the biggest scam.
Fricking 9am to 2pm and you can't workout? Nogga you moronic you need to work your brain first.
>only $499.00
>Spending money to git gud is the biggest scam.
moneybrain like seeing number go up
also it's fun
also also you are on a board for something you call toys so you should know the appeal
If it helps people get healthy, what's the problem?
I try to do at least 15k steps a day but I do miss that sometimes
not really on topic, but I had to walk up a bunch of steps today while in ketosis and my thighs were in extreme agony near the end
terrible
>crank it to max
>each set has like 30 squats
>boss battles become literal fights of endurance
Now this is podracing
The squats are brutal. The only time I just failed was max setting with Wide Squats. My legs gave out after 80 or so.

my biggest problem with fitness is food
what the frick am I supposed to eat that is healthy and doesn't cost too much?
Just count calories.
just eat chicken rice and veggies my man
eat less
>that is healthy and doesn't cost too much?
>healthy

that's not a thing
get money and buy decent food
