They should have just treated it as a full reboot and just named it Armored Core instead of giving it a number, it essentially is a reboot anyway as it barely has any connection to previous games.
But every numbered AC game is a reboot. This is not new.
Normalgays don't know that, they get scared when they see a number because they think it's a sequel.
On the other hand, it's nice to see actual interested people picking up the older games to "catch up".

Because they know they can really only show off the non-gameplay things while minimizing the impact of the gameplay aspect in any video press release.
1. They already blundered by revealing too much in the last gameplay shown because it clearly shows that the game won't function at all like past ACs, so they have alienated at least some portion of the people would have been guaranteed to buy it. Showing more would likely make the situation worse.
2. For whatever reason normies can't process giant robots and have some kind of instinctual aversion to them, so marketing it deeply as Robot Souls ("the next Soulslike for you to consoom") won't work either.
3. Therefore best they can hope for is to keep the marketing to whatever has been shown so far, very cinematic and jumpcut heavy, and rely entirely on the "latest From game, don't think just buy" effect.
