It's for his teratype, and they get a stab move to go with it.
Terastallization is the gen 9 gimmick, it changes the type of the Pokemon into its "Tera Type". A terastallized Pokemon is treated defensively as their monotype Tera Type, but offensively as both their original type(s) AND their Tera Type. If a Pokemon's Tera Type matches its original type and it uses a matching type attack move, that move will get the same-type attack bonus twice.
So for instance, if I send out an Alakazam whose Tera Type is Normal and then terastallize it, it's then treated as a Normal-type Alakazam. Immune to Ghost, weak to Fighting, but can still hit hard with Psychic-type attacks. This giveaway Mew has a random Tera Type and a matching move to that type. Tera Types can be changed at a restaurant in-game, though gathering the materials to do that is rather grindy.

farm up tera shards of all types and level it up to 100 to use in the 7 star mewtwo raid. Data leaks showed that Mew gets a buff if you bring it into that raid to fight

Boxes have a search function for a reason. Mystery Gift pokemon always go to your first available box starting from the first box, regardless of what box you had selected at the time. If you can't search for it by name, try type or ability. Otherwise, something went horribly wrong.

Mew is the most adaptable pokémon, you can spec him to play any role.
Usually though people will play support (healer or setter) or sp attacker (using stored power + buff moves). Common teras are fairy, steel.

shadow ball's like a 95% chance, it's basically his most iconic move at this point
aura sphere has a decent chance feeling like 40-50% of it being there
a fire move I don't feel is likely, doesn't really fit mewtwo and only really covers it's bug weakness but I think they'll just leave bug uncovered due to being a weak type and giving players some somewhat solid option against a strong raid, maybe 20-30% chance of having a fire move
recover is possible but it seems like it'd be too much of a dick move to even consider, especially on what'll be probably one of the hardest raids, maybe they'd put it on with the logic that most will use the overpowered mew and burn through it's health with ease

The whole fight is a callback to the original Japanese Mewtwo movie plot, where Mew saw its clone as an abomination and wanted to destroy it. Mew robbing the Mightiest mark by beating it is M1's battle finally being resolved without some chump kid getting in the way. Letting ANY shitmon grab it kinda ignores the whole point of it.

If it's anything like the Swsh Raid, it's going to have coverage for everything. I remeber my friends and I had a Lulnala Wide guard set, with grimsnarl and 1 attacker, while I had Marshadow to steal Mewtwo buffs.
I'm 100% betting on the fact it WILL have a buffing move. The raids are probably going to be different and have different sets, like set A will be more physical and Set B will be more Special, so you won't really know waht to expect.

And unless you're a redditor who thinks you have a psychic imprint on 1s and 0s and that only "being there in person" qualifies those Mews as "legitimate" (when they're all generated on the spot when you claim the wondercard in-game) you should have no problem getting one of the single-most distributed event mons for yourself. Just like everyone else.
