Am I the only one who feels like Sony overcommitted to this?
Xbox's reveal wasn't nearly as big as they'd thought and they're going to ha e to walk this shit back HARD.

>also sony: we have nothing for 2024
I don't think they're going to walk it back at all. If they're smart they'll take advantage of the momentum MS have built for this exact transition (yes, haha). If you think about it from an executive position it makes perfect sense, let MS take the shareholder-hit and then just quietly follow suit which will at worst make you look like you're keeping step with market development.
Also this, less games to sell but more people to sell the ones you have to makes perfect sense.
>let MS take the shareholder-hit
But shareholders love multiplats. To them it's literally just free money and they don't give a -frick- about Xbox as a brand so who cares? Sell Halo on Playstation, they don't give a shit as long as it makes more money.
>bet big on live service
>realize that everyone who does that was moronic
>cancel everything
>see ya in 2025
probably the right move
>>bet big on live service
that everyone who does that was moronic
Except that Xbox is tripling down on Goypass and its pretty much the only part of Xbox that (somehow) still makes money?
sony apparently had 12 live service games in development they scrapped not a platform like gamepass.
Oh, I thought you were talking about the Gamepass service. Well then I agree with you.
as long as they buy out some third party timed exclusives, it's probably fine anyway. the new ff that comes out in a bit under 2 weeks into rise of the ronin into stellar blade is a good exclusive lineup for them. just keep that rolling and pivot the live service games into something else.
>stellar blade
>rise of ronin
>FF7 rebirth
all ion the next 3 months
>asiaticshit that will be on pc in 3 months
>nipshit that will be on pc with 3 dlc's in 9 months at launch price
>kino that will be on pc by june
>nu-final fantasy
>kino
Please don't start. Rebirthtrannies will ruin another thread.
>ff7gameplay.webm
Where, exactly, is the gameplay?
Looks really really bad. XVI had better combat.
Why are you doing this? No one asked for this.
Screenshotted for posterity.
Everything except Stellar Blade looks like absolute trash.
Kinda wild how Sony is blowing their load and releasing 3 big exclusives in 3 months and then frick all the rest of the year
*also on PC
what are you on about m8? they've been talking about pc/mobile/cloud for years
is it a conscious decision how you morons don't actually read what people say? not to mention that the first half of the year is packed with games
>packed with games
>3 games
>packed
yeah, three big titles is a lot, on top of that you got a shitty remaster, the regular mlb and the kino helldivers
it is quite packed
>yeah, three big titles is a lot
T-to last a year? Those games average around 20 hours Anon.
Sony doesn't care about what Xbox is doing. They know the future is on PC because of chinks.
You're still thinking in traditional console gaming market terms.
The market is changing, everyone is starting to experiment and trying to figure out their place in this new market.
I doubt there will be a PS7, to be honest even the PS6 being a traditional console is doubtful.
Except no one wants more serviceshit and China is made of cardboard.
It's about what makes more money, Sony is trying to predict and adjust for the potential future so that they can grab and maximize their piece of the pie.
If the future of gaming consoles is offering a gamepass-esque catalog on every device, with multiple devices made by 3rd party manufacturers they will have to test the waters to be prepared.
Sony always follows in Microsofts steps, it will be the same this time. There wont be a walking back.
Imagine trying to justify the San Fran HQ to the new Gaijin-hating CEO on the basis of:
>I-IT'S CLOSER TO BRAZIL!
Isn't Brazil a big market for Sony? 99% of the people I play with online are some variant of brown.
>Isn't Brazil a big market for Sony?
That's the point. There is no viable justification for a western anchored studio otherwise.
Why isn't there dozens of threads every hour when Sony does it? There was pure rumors and speculation about Xbox doing it and you couldn't scroll through a page without there being a thread chimping out on Ganker about it.
>Why isn't there dozens of threads every hour when Sony does it?
Because people actually own a Playstation and no one that matters have an Xbox?
OK... that would mean there should be lots of threads when Sony does it and hardly any when Xbox does it. You know that right?
Because Snoystation is mostly owned by people who play CoD and FIFA who have nothing else to do in their free time but console war. And given how rough Sony news have been lately, can you blame them?
GT7 boomer wait chads won
anon, they only have 6% profit margins
they are on the razor edge of going into the red
Isn't 6% pretty good when your company is in the hundreds of millions?
>Make system with no games
>Lose money
>Am I the only one who feels like Sony overcommitted to this?
No they were hoping Xbox was announcing full multiplat and were hoping to get ahead of the curve.
