Maybe some would like to grab all them yourself, but then there's no real "reward" in doing things outside of more weapons to try out. the developers literally said the combat system was designed for people who aren't good at action games and that it's the most barebones simplified shit imaginable
mashing the attack button in drakengard 1 and mashing the attack button in automata yields the same exact results and that was always the POINT in yoko taro's games when regarding combat, but it flied past everyone because they could only see "shit looking combat" and "flashy looking combat"

It's nothing like older Taro games because they enlisted Platinum to build it on a decent budget instead of puting barebones combat like in the previous games because they had no money. What Yoko Taro has said is that he thinks Stellar balde is better than Automata and the he is quite jealous of it. The remark about Automata's combat being simple is not even put in quotes because it is bullshit and he never said it, you know that, I know that, accept it.
Having played the demo of SB, I disagree with Taro, it may be more difficult when played with only what they give you in the demo, but it is not more complex or ever reaches the difficulty Automata can reach at its highest difficulty.
Taro is a fellow coomer, so I can understand why he praises the game tho.
