I hope the series stresses the importance of pronouns in a post apocalyptic setting.
They should focus on the important aspects of survival.

Unless it's an original story, what sort of character can Kyle even play? At his current age, I don't think the repertoire is that wide. A grizzled old survivalist patriarch? Some pre-war corpo that managed to survive the bombs? A vault overseer?

he'll probably just play the father of the main character and die after 2 episodes.

fallout actually seems like it would work perfectly for a tv show

its not super extraordinary. its sort of right there in the middle where walking dead and game of thrones worked well.

seems like it might even be watchable if they don't put any stupid politics in it

It will all depend on the script. Fallout can go in many directions in terms of storylines, tone, etc. Someone has to sit down, at the very least watch full playthroughs of all the Fallout games and get the overall feel of the setting.

        Anonymous

If you ask a hundred people to play Fallout and describe it you would get 100 different answers.
I can assure you I would think the things you think are important as as idiotic as you think mine.

Fallout as a tv series can work well as an anthology show. Each episode is self-contained and shows you one aspect of living in the wastes. There can be characters or events that connect all of the episodes, but each of them could work on it's own right. Creating an epic lengthy story in this setting for a tv show seems like a bad idea, at least to me.

Now I want Fallout written by Lynch

      Anonymous

What would he focus on? He likes electricity as a motif in his more "sci-fi" works.

Maybe a Wild Wasteland inspired miniseries?

        Anonymous

I feel he would make it into a more psychological horror type of thing. Which honestly would be perfect for a setting where the world is finished and the few people still alive should be losing their mental, specially with the amount of drugs still around.
He would have plenty of material to work with, and of course he would add some supernatural stuff as well.

          Anonymous

Ehh, fallout lore is so established and multi-faceted that it would scare Lynch away. He prefers lesser known IPs if he has to work with one.

            Anonymous

Fallout lore is a rolling clusterfrick.
            Fallout 2
            Myron I invented Jet
            Also Fallout 2
            Mrs Bishop
I was addicted to Jet before Myron was born.

Throwing more crap on the pile won't hurt the lore so they have wide latitude in what they can do.

              Anonymous

Myron is a liar and a dopehead. Plot hole solved.

                Anonymous

I don't think anyone has ever cared about the plotholes. The devs certainly didn't.
Holding Fallout as some sort of paragon of lore is an odd stance to take.
Nobody had ever cared about it so the series is not bound by anything from the games.

Avellone made a "bible" and went buttmad when nobody cared or adopted his ideas, resulting in the atrocious Lonesome Road dlc

          Anonymous

I dunno. Fallout isn't necessary a dying setting. It's about society AFTER the end. Twin Peaks, for example, is a mostly straight forward Good vs. Evil story, but Lynch likes to give focus to characters to just be themselves. Lynch knows that the audience is familiar with the usual story tropes, so he can take his time exploring weird feelings and sensations. If anything, it could be a pretty straight forward story like "The Road", but he lets the characters take the lead in how the pacing goes.

At least in this instance, it can't possibly be any worse than Bethesda's Fallout games. They can't possibly misunderstand the source material any more than that.

      Anonymous

There is more Bethesda lore in fallout today than Black Isle. You can cry and stomp your feet, but modern fallout cannot be separated from Bethesda's ideas and the first 2 games, plus NV, aren't as known or appreciated by the community at large.

        >New Vegas
        >Not known or appreciated
There are, right now, almost 7k people playing New Vegas right now and 16k playing F4.

Just shut the frick up. Only contrarians and normies even talk about F3 and F4 anymore. F:NV still has weekly threads and people talking about it on youtube and normie places.

          Anonymous

How many of these 7k are trans though? That is the real question. Most average people think of F4 when they hear fallout, simply because it had a higher publicity and sold well. They could also say F76, because it is the most recent and was a clusterfrick at launch. Normies cannot be ignored, because their money is used to produce these shows and games. Your niche gamer opinion isn't worth shit in the real world.

Bethesda really fricked Fallout up something ridiculous.

It's been hundreds of years since the bombs went off. Why do people live like this?
