Why are the Vlakkoc gnolls so fricking strong? I can't seem to win a single battle on land against them as Verne. What's the secret?
Asking again since I only got a /gsg/ answer
I just looked it up and they don't have their old meme tier ideas anymore, so no idea why they are that strong
Don't they have insanely strong ideas? Like +10 disc +20 morale tier shit.
Or are atleast they had the last time I checked them.
Man I dunno but the Hill Gnolls earlier in the mission tree weren't nearly as bad. I'm not sure what the secret sauce is for early game wars in EU4 as I haven't played a non-HOI paradox game in years, but from what I remember from EU3/CK2/V2 this shouldn't be so ridiculously one-sided. I'm losing hundreds more dudes per tick even when I have the terrain advantage and the morale of my troops drops like a stone every battle.
what
/gsg/ is leaking
can you make more oni vassals that dont cost a dip slot like the one from the mission?
Yeah, I think there are serveral times in the mission tree of the Oni where you create a vassal that doens't take a slot. The first one being that little republic you start the game with paying tribute, then you can make Sir one, and one of the Yashen city statelets into one and then you can make a southern one, off the top of my head. There might be more
I think you should get a life and STOP FRICKING RUINING THE STRATEGY GENRE YOU FRICKING BRAINLET NO SEX NO SEX YOU GET NO SEX YOU'RE DREAMING OF GROSSGERMANIUMS IN YOUR MOTHER'S BASEMENT YOU FRICKING FAILURE I WANT YOU OUT PATHETIC moron b***h have a nice day
Meds. Double dose. Now.
>DREAMING OF GROSSGERMANIUMS IN YOUR MOTHER'S BASEMENT
No anon he's clearly dreaming of 大鬼 (Dàoni)
I support him and his Chinese Shrek Empire
Dunno, can you lose your virginity already?
What's a good country to comfy make loadsa money?
Preferably in Haless.
I've not played them, but Arawklin(?) seems like east Anbenncost
There's also the airship guys (Fentian?) and the Lake Federation expats who send out treasure fleets.
If you include Rahen in Haless then Bhuvauri are absolute Doshlords if my Jadd game is anything to go by
Sarisung would be great if any dev noticed their estates were randomly removed by someone for no reason
>estates were randomly removed
The ruling oligarchy has made all other interests irrelevant.
In Sarisung All Is Sarisung. Anything else is Sedition
don't care, it's still abysmal for a country to not have estates and not get anything in exchange, they don't even have factions or any trade republic mechanics
I was just joking, yeah it's not great. Especially when they have a unique government type.
Like, a Criminal Syndicate State has a lot of room for creativity when it comes to the interest groups that would be important within it
What's a good Dwarf nation to play if I want to play in the tunnels?
I lack most of the DLC, if it matters.
Pirate the dlc then play verkal gulan
>lack most of the DLC
You need all of the DLC. That's how paradox games work.
What's the best sun elven country?
Jaddari
>b...but they're desert elves!!1!
Desert Elves are more Sunny than the Sun Elves
That said, I have a soft spot for Birsartanšes, because I love Chinese-esque exam meritocracy autism
So what happens with Nathalaire, anyone played them?
They have a tiny tree that is very old. Due to be reworked at some point between now and the heat death of the universe.
I think they're just a den of not particularly evil criminals. Might go pirates or something.
Yeah they are just like evil Venice. I don't think they are openly piratical like a European Tortuga or something. But they might be. Playing as Vertesk reading about their rivalry with them and Damescrown is fun. Basically Damescrown is better at trade than Vertesk and Nathalaire is better at black market trade than Vertesk.
they're not even evil they're just chaotic and a bit lawless
there's a whole shadow council going on and a struggle between the priesthood of nathalyne (basically cleric-rogue dual classes/nightingales from skyrim), the captains (smugglers, pirates and allegedly actually legitimate merchants) and the old dostanorian nobility who's city the other two factions are basically squatting in since the nobles are too forlorn and crying over the lost mainland to protect it.
They're going to get a kind of branching mission tree depending on who wins the conflict, if it happens at all, and there's going to be a side tree about stealing various relics of anbennarian history and what not (nothing too important or involved with other nation's mission trees, mostly artefacts invented for Nathalaire's mission tree and then given significance for the other nation)
is she someone important I should know or is this just coom bait
Coom bait.
It's the average Sun Elf male.
>Sun elf
Sun elves are olive Adonises with chiseled features from sand and Surael. That soft looking kafir is clearly a moon elf with how little shame she shows.
Sun elves go from the most beautiful and feminine creatures to walk upon on Halanna's flesh, to Olive-skinned and Olive-oiled Adonises
I'm sure Sun Elf women are nice too
Only their husbands would know. No proper sun elf woman would show her face in public.
>No proper sun elf woman would show her face in public.
I mean, would anyone know?
"Is that a woman or a twink? I have no idea because I live in an Elven-Occupied Society (Azkare). Guess I'll just *have* to seduce them and find out. I'm not doing this for fun I swear"
Imagine living in a society where you don't know the gender of someone until they sit on your face. We were born in the wrong reality.
What is the strongest dwarf remnant/formable in your opinion?
Not necessarily outright but with the highest potential.
Anyone?
Almdirh. Purely because they get missions to go all the way to The Commmand
I don't know what half of them do and the other half is all about economy/diplomacy with the exception of Kanzad and Orlazam
I'd say Hehodovar. It doesn't have an MT yet, but considering its Ideas give -5% Power cost, and -10% Dev cost, it'll probably be strong. Also, large Artificery focus.
Isn't it -20% dev cost
Possibly. Provably, even, since I remember it was really strong overall.
You WILL frick the Harpies
>the more you frick them the more hot and breedable they become
Jadd Chads winning again
>Elves live long enough to reap the rewards of fricking ugly bird monsters for generations until they are cute monster girls
It's not fair. Gawed and Dartax were right.
>Elves live long enough to reap the rewards of fricking ugly bird monsters for generations until they are cute monster girls
Yeah, and humans get to frick the cute monster girls too once he process is done. Yeah you're fricking a woman who looks like a pigeon and a hyena had a lovechild, but think of the hot birdgirl pussy that your children are gonna get.
So yes, you do need to have sex with that screeching-owl woman, what are you, some sort of Gay Traitor?? Think of the hot birdgirl pussy that will exist because of you!
Man, I bet elves are so into eugenics and breeding the younger races. It'd be like growing a tree. Get to breed some fricked up moronic looking race. Elves are probably responsible for Gnomes.
>Gnomes.
If Hobgoblins are the result of the goblinoid genome stabilising into not-orcs(because Ducaniel ofc), what the frick were the Elves trying to achieve with Gnomes?
Probably just doing it for a laugh seeing how short they could get humans. I don't think they realised they'd end up creating the one race that will happily genocide them with no empathy.
>how short they could get humans
> the one race that will happily genocide them with no empathy
Ah, so Elves not only invented the Chihuhua but gave them opposable thumbs?
Yeah I'm thinking this is a good time to sell my soul to the Gommo, we have no hope of winning in any way that's meaningful
Real. That frostpunk Gnome tag is going to really show the true nature of a gnome.
>That frostpunk Gnome tag
which one is that?
Can't remember the exact name, like Nortochand or something, but it's not even in the game yet. People have just been talking about it eventually being included. Basically Frostpunk with gnomes. They go to aelentir and find a machine that can power their colony, but eventually have to start feeding it people.
I'm pretty sure hobgoblins just naturally evolved from more thuggish goblins far beyond the reach of elven influence. Unlike Orcs, goblins predate the rise of the precursor elves(it is said that dwarves and goblins were created at the same time and place.
Gnomes are halflings but mutated into brain wojaks by damestear. Also not precursor influence as far as I'm aware. They just hung around the stuff too long
Yes, yes I will
The Harpylen mission tree literally has a mission that amounts to making brothels to make it easier to reproduce instead of having to kidnap males all the time. Underrated tag imo.
Elayenna will easily be the peak coomer's choice once they get any content
I started playing EU4 a few days ago, any country recommendations for this mod? bonus points if elves
Easy elves campaign is probably Moonhaven or Ibevar. If you want Arab elves, one of the Bulwar Elves like Irrilam or Sarayand or whatever they are called. The rest of them are a bit more challenging.
You might be able to handle the wood elves as well.
>Some b***h named Corin was the great hero that faced down and destroyed the Greentide and was canonized as a war goddess that potentially sets off a Protestant Reformation sized religious shift with crazy red-caped crusaders
>All the art makes her look like a meek level 1 adventurer or a princess in adventurer cosplay
okay
Yeah in the lore whenever she gets mentioned, she sounds like a giant amazon. Like big gigawoman that fricking flattens the Young Gryf in sparring.
yeah why would a female war hero be depicted as a pretty, small delicate wom-
It'd be pretty frickin hardcore if Jeanne d'Arc defeated Henry VI or John Talbot in single combat wouln't it
Don't discount the amount of people, past and present, who wanted her to do just that
Corin actually made strategy and fought. Jean just sat on a horse with a banner. She was basically just a breathing extension of the banner.
So you want her in titty armor or lvl 100 sparkly WoW gear or something? I think she looks fine as a plain Jane.
I'm right wing btw.
She needs to look like this but with long red hair.
Ah, a Daddy Bluetusk fan I see
Apologies, my sir. I see now that you are a patrician with artisanal taste.
Maybe she was just really brave and earnest and skillful despite her frame. She was possessed by the old fallen war god. So maybe she just slit her throat and did some demonic anime blood slash to win the fight or something.
I like multiple contradicting details, nothing to being an icon like being misinterpreted.
It's because she's leveled up literally, which in universe is explained as being an avatar. There's an artificer invention which lets you inject your soldiers with something to mimic this explosive strength growth of avatars.
>Thinking you need to be massive to be good in combat
This homie never heard the story of David vs Goliath
>Playing as a native in Aelantir
>Their ideas mention an onyx or obsidian or black legion or something appearing and fricking them up with death sticks
>Think it's something to do with the onyx dorfs
>It's actually the corvurian adventurer company
>it's hinted that they overthrow the local death cult and claim this massive palace of bones or whatever the local bone/skull related great work is
I want them. Give me spooky vampire necromancer adventurers in Aelinter. Fricking give it to me.
What's some advice for someone who's completely ass at...pretty much everything?
Do I want to develop provinces first or early before teching up? Or is it the reverse?
Is cavalry useless or situational?
Is playing a small country even something to bother with or is it mostly meme value flexing?
Generally you don't want to dev a province unless that deving achieves a specific purpose. The most common time to dev a province is to get an institution. So if an institution spawns away from you, you normally want to dev up a province until the institution spawns. When you do that, pick a province with low dev and with dev cost reductions so it's cheaper. Institutions spawn every 50 years, so when I play away from Cannor(Europe) about 5-10 years before the 50 year mark, I'll stop teching and save up my points to dev. Early on use Admin and Dip rep for that because Mil is really important for early mil tech advantage. Other times you might dev are to complete missions or if you are a dwarf and need to dev your Hold.
Cavalry gets bonuses for flanking, so it's always nice to have 2-4 in a stack. Some tags go hard on cav though and you'll want more. Like Jaddari or Marrhold.
The size of your country is really up to you. I find it fun to play a small nation and just take it slow and really take advantage of situations. It feels more rewarding. Big nations that expand quickly can get tedious.
I did do a game recently until I got my ass kicked by the uber-expansionist vikings as Darkscale kobolds in the serpentspine mountains.
I was lightyears ahead militarily but was extremely far behind dip and adm techs while idea groups were nearly untouched. But I was the predominant military and trading power eclipsing the dwarf holds, the black orc fortress, and the rail goblins.
I just need to know more game mechanics because I haven't played this much since...el dorado was the newest expansion
Darkscale is pretty hard, I haven't been able to get very far as them, so I think you're probably fine. Playing in the mountains is weird, I don't really like it. Try your hand at something else and you'll probably do well.
Fix and deepen your capital hold, build forts in as many holds as you can. Kobold administration has -10% dev cost so if you get prosperity in a state that's -30% dev cost with the edict, that's nothing compared to the buffs you get in your capital hold but it's still a great starting point. Dump bird mana on gold and mithril provinces if you can, your economy will skyrocket.
Don't declare war against anyone outside the mountain until 1495.
Only take techs early if you get innovativeness from it.
Try to avoid battles as kobolds until you have the tech to build artillery, kobold military sucks and the way you're supposed to play them is by forcing the enemy to kill themselves sieging your forts via attrition, you can stack up defensiveness with the state edict and advisor to make this more effective.
Seen these threads and gotten curious. Is this based on an existing property or is it all OC stuff? If I'm a total EU4 noob could I start with this or should I learn the game in vanilla?
It's OC but heavily based on D&D tropes.
Started with one dude who did it as a thesis or something, now like dozens upon dozens of people have contributed in different ways. There are more than a few people who just made a snowflake nation. There's care to make sure it fits, but there's a lot of freedom given to contributors at the same time.
You could start with this but I'd recommend going with vanilla EU4 first. It's a decent game, you'll have a much better time learning how to play and you'll also have better context for observing how crazy some shit in Anbennar gets.
Remember to just buy the base game on steam(summer sale is 23rd by the way) and just pirate all the DLC. It's the best way to go.
cs.rin.ru was the way to go for that, last time I did it.
So what does being more benevolent/ruthless actually do as Bianfang?
Is there more to it other than having a different approach in how you conquer shit?
You get a modifier you can see in the government tab right?
Unless I'm fricking blind there's nothing like that.
Its in the decision tab not the government, where you can check your racial stuff. just hover your mouse over it and you will see a bar showing if your a tyrant or not and the bonus and etc for the different levels
God I wish underage 6/6/4 dragon queens were real
Are you fricking kidding me
I fricking SWEAR it's coded to always happen if your heir has good stats
LOL, LOLMAO
(this post was made by republic gang)
shouldn't have brought your dragon daughter hunting
Is it really so bad to play with Red France if you've never even played Blue France before?
what a moronic question, why would it be
Best country to waggle my willy with?
W*sdam
army with a state is jiangdu, little orange dot in asia
ebin prussiums wehrmachtus would be blademarches formable in south escann
junker krupp steel industriums would be telgeir
racism is gawed
E to the Z
jiangdu looks like it will be fun
marrhold - racist, monarchical, industrious and with a great militaristic tradition (gryphons)
Ok, so I'm playing segdihr and have completed the first part of the mission tree. Got like 8 holds in total, around 140k cap.
Hoardcurse hit, I'm now almost done with it with 60k in denbts.
The Command attacks. They have aroun 500k troops, stomped almost everybody in the East, so no chance of coalition against them. The only big guy bordering them is jadd with lik 100k troops and jadd hates me, so no chance of alliance either.
What do? I only have quant in terms of military, was going to go qual or offensive next. Command has quant and that's it for military.
Protect chokepoints. Build forts in entrances to your domain, and protect these locations with everything you have.
Am I stupid or where can I produce the special dwraven artillery units after I unlocked them with mil tech 18?
Bennon got a tree now, nothing too crazy but I'm having fun
Their formable has a kino flag
post both, did it get added today or when
So who's got the most broken combination of ideas and mission tree perks now that Haless is out?
iron hammers into hammerhome have zero build times, later on its not as fast but forts still take 2 months or so
I've barely seen it mentioned but Bianfang is my favorite Haless nation so far, and I've already played the oni, the horde and Beikdugang.
It's relatively simple in that it's just a region consolidation/rebuilding tree (so far) from a dominant starting position, but I feel the MT flows very well (and looking ahead to not frick yourself over isn't required) and it has enough fluff events and little mechanics like the tyrant level to be interesting but not enough to where it's distracting.
Bianfang is what Lorent/Gawed should be imo.
Also it lets me crush the E*nuchs which is a bonus.
Added onto that, the only negative about it I feel is that it kinda loses it's steam after forming Dahui and you'll probably be done with the MT sometime around 1550 if not earlier if you're fast.
But then again, not every MT needs to be Beikdugang/Jaddar tier in length.
Yeah I found it eventually, somehow I didn't look into the decisions tab the entire time.
Thank you, AI
now show what the A,I wants you to write
How can I get a vampire rule as Corvuria? I unlocked the midnight monarchy but nothing is happening
I'm pretty sure one of the missions gets you one. Just keep playing.
>need to lead and win the corinite war
>the emperor is pearlsedge backed by lorent
>I'm landlocked
fricking epic
>Playing a Marhold into Castanor campaign
>Join the Regent Court League
>Wex is Emperor and has Lorent and Wesdam in a PU
>Both of them join the Corinite league despite being in a PU
>mfw
I didn't think this was possible
I married Rogieria forgetting their half-orc lore
actually that's kind of hot
my 18 years old king married a 24 years old half orc and instantly had a daughter
Half orc women are UNGH. Big orc physic with Cannorian features and lightly greened skin. Yes pls sir.
>bennon into havoral with elven military, half-orc ruler and co-gnomish government reform
This is truly the future
Which one is Benis?
the one that owns silverforge's tunnel at the beginning of the game
Interesting. Never even thought about that tag. What's their lore? What's the deal.
stupid goat herders squatting on North Giberd and ancient dwarven tunnels, made to be annexed
Their missions are a giant cope about them not Esmari, instead they believe they're Havoric. Havoral was a tribal kingdom that stopped existing 2 thousand years before the game starts. You'll want to form that and assimilate the people of your kingdom into Havoric. Their cavalry is great and they can very easily switch to elven military since Havoral requires you to conquer Ibevar, I'm currently at permanent 100 army tradition, 125% discipline and 42.5% cav combat ability, which will eventually be bumped into 60% with a Havoral mission.
I didn't form their formable yet because Telgeir has been a bro the entire game and I need to own them, so I'm trying to diplo vassalize them instead.
And since you're a monarchy that integrates gnomes, you'll have access to the Gnomish Cogovernment reform which usually only Reveria has access to, though you'll have to wait for manufacturies to take it.
>Gnomish Cogovernment
What are it's stats?
Also, overall Bennon seems... interesting to say the least. Are they a recent addition?
Nevermind, found it. Pretty interesting, though some of its benefits may be unlocked a tad too late to be really great
>Gnomish Co-gorvenment
aka ZOG
*GOG
Gommo Occupied Government
globogommo?
Alright boys. I have a very important question to present. Which country would be statistically the most likely to have a nationalist uprising that wants to exterminate the globogommo at the end of the Vicky 3 timeline?
>Vicky 3
None really, they'll be all 100% gommo.
Say 2, then Gawed.
>gawed
>magisterium
uhh anons
they're dead
Isn't the northern league literally gawed though
celmador and bayvic are still elven and goblin respectively in the league, would gawed let that happen?
Mages.
koboldizan wants to exterminate the gnomes at the beginning of vicky 3 if that counts
>magisterium
they hate artificers and vice versa, over the use of magic and precursor relics
>kobolds
rivalry
>gawed
regional racists
Aelnar already becomes an explicitly ethnonationalist state as it is, so they likely wouldn't need an uprising in the first place. Their missions include genocide and "purifications" of entire regions
Aelnar is a rump state at best in Victoria 3, because of course the state with the most effort put into it gets LMAO ADVENTURER'D because racism is bad
it's going to be a rump state so they'll have even more effort and content put in for them you dumb idiot moron
In my game AI Aelnar managed to become great power
Doesn't matter, not canon
Technically everything is canon, due to the timeline split in 1444.
Orcish?
it being a rump state just means you can cleanse the land for a second time
Small Country. They're rural and right next to the gnomes, making them easy targets for anschluss and oppression. I can see them having a reactionary sentiment because of a romantic view of their farming centric past. I can also see them trying to be shut down in a world war by 3/4th's of their neighbors, Lorent, Gnomes, and Gawed, a parallel to their struggles at the start of EU4, and probably having a grudge against all of their neighbors except the Empire, giving opportunity for grosgermaniums.
Everything else I said is fluff though, I just really like the idea of a manlet dictator and manlet SS and it cracks me up every time I think about it. Imagine the starting scene from Inglorious Bastards but with 6'0 guy hiding gnomes scared of a cute little halfling SS officer.
I haven't played in a while. Did something change with Xiaken? I wasn't even 10 provinces in to unifying before the overlord decided to murder me. Never had a problem before.
Had -200 opinion because he desired my provinces, and only MY provinces, nobody else's.
any nations for this feel?
>try Jiangdu
>expect to struggle with strong neighbors and running out of manpower early on
>turns out both of these aren't that big of an issue and the real struggle is dealing with a severe lack of governing capacity and trying to stay over 30% crown land
these b***hes are so afraid of me, they still want to ally me, even if we're rivals
>rogieria
>stuck with a green mutt ruler
gay who made this let me guess the same guy who made frozenmutt
Sorry for shitting up the thread with vaguely unrelated questions, but is EU4 still fricked? I heard Leviathan or whatever broke the game hard.
no one plays vanilla anymore, so i guess yeah, its fricked
Kinda. The game works, much better than on the Leviathan release, but there still are some recurring complaints like natives doing a bit too well
NATIVE METROPOLIS
orange chinaman bad
show military stats
I formed Yanshen as quick as I could on my jiangdu run, and took their ideas too.
Jiangdu has fantastic mil ideas for the early game with all their +1 general pip, - army trad decay and -AE stuff, but most of them become useless because you're permacapped on army tradition anyways so you'll always get insane generals either way, AE reduction is pointless after the first 50 years and you have so many mil/army trad/regiment drill modifier buffs in your MT that you're always capped on literally everything even without the ideaset.
what's the yanshen ideas/missions look like?
idk, im about to drop it all together, i enjoyed the proto-fascist state with chinese characteristics
Also if any multiplayer gay can confirm, ironically enough for all the insane mil buffs Jiangdu gets unless I missed something hidden in the MT events they get only like 2.5% disc and 0 combat ability in total.
Which means they're not actually that good and will get absolutely assraped by something like Ibevar with their 140% discipline or ovdal kanzad with their cannons.
They're decent generalist type stuff, more useful than Jiangdu imo at that stage of the game.
Best stuff is 25% land limit, +20 trade eff., -10 tech cost, -10 dev cost reduction, +15 manpower.
And they have no missions, you keep everything from jiangdu except some of the estate privileges.
i like their orange map color, what's the yanshen color
Wwhite, basically bianfang except one shade darker
that's gay, i'll finish the region, the MT and the command, shan't be playing no more than that
God I love worshiping elves
Based. I might try Irriliam after I'm done with my current Jadd campaign. Desert elves is a great aesthetic.
Mod's setting in Vicky 3 will be all about Halann's ORCISH FUTURE
>it's a marrhold blobs all over the dwarven tunnels episode
could be worse, like cyranvar or centaurs
recently i keep seeing birsartenses doing that too
cyranvar is the worst, in my current game the goblins genocided the dwarves in ovdal tungr, then cyranvar conquered it and genocided the goblins, now ovdal tungr is populated by wood elves and both bulwar and the deepwoods have dwarven minorities everywhere
Can't stop loosing! Literally no part of the game! First seen in Anbennar!
What nation has this?
vanilla sweden in the next update
eu4 devs have been copying ideas from anbennar lately if you read the dev diaries
lmao at first I thought it was related to the bird riders, then I noticed the general called Matthew
That definitely looks like something you see all the time in Anbennar and never in the current vanilla game
I have this great campaign going as Han with 5k dev and qing borders, the dev cost reduction in that mod is absolutely insane
40 dev provinces can be devved with 60 monarch points
Han? What country is that? Are you talking about vanilla?
To supress the Eunuchs or not?
How do I Fengwuzhe without getting murdered by Jiangliusi? I start with -130ish opinion for 'wants your provinces' and it jumps up to -200 as soon as I conquer a couple more. The second I'm big enough to be disloyal he pulls all the other vassals in to dogpile me and relegates me to an OPM, keeping a couple of provinces for himself and releasing the rest, while maintaining a border with me so he keeps the opinion penalty, even if it is reduced.
I don't remember overlords being able to desire their own subjects provinces being a thing ever before, is this JB being a frick or did Paradox break something again?
Not sure but A.I Fengqwuzhe is all my games so far have been successful, they expand and go independent when Jiangliusi forms One Xia. Maybe he just hates you cause your the player
Actually he has the opinion with all the other Xiaken, he wants all their provinces, you just can't see it on the map because they're colored as being 'considers this as part of their territory' because they're owned by vassals.
The penalty is much higher if you border him, too. At 9 provinces I have -200 and only max improve+scornful rival insult is even keeping it close to neutral. You'd have to also spam gifts and expand extremely slowly to keep AE down to maintain a positive relationship, never mind +100 for more stab loss on the inevitable wardec.
I basically have to sit here and wait for the other vassals to eat each other, ally the biggest ones, and then try to capture the capital. I guess PDX saw Ludi's 14-year Japan Unification video and decided fun was no longer allowed.
Man the Rianvisa is such a slog. Feels like one of those disasters you're supposed to hoard and prep for.
Got through it but I didn't get the Crystal Empress, did I frick up? I ended up siding with Lithiel when she rebelled with 80k troops while I had zero elves left
Crystal stuff happens a few years after the Rianvisa is over and her victory.
Oh nice.
Anons, Ive found out you can form the jadd empire as any nation as long as you are of the jadd religion. Who do you recommend me to form them as?
Ourdia
you only get jadd empire missions if you form it as jaddari
Jaddari(pbuh) of course.
After playing Roadwarrior I want to play some dwarves. But which?
Mitradhum for Dwarven Jihad
Isn't that one goblin-overran or something at the start? Am I supposed to do it with an adventurer company?
Yes. Pick one of them and go remove gobbo. {spoiler] then remove orc and gobbo worldwide. [/spoiler]
Aight, will do.
Speaking of tags which I have played:
Krak: Dwarf Australia, freeze everyone's balls off with ice magic. Can be a tough start due to proximity of Grombar/Finland/Centaurs, all tags which get a shitton of dev really fast
Orzlam: Complete meme hold as dwarf cav sucks until the very late game when you can just delete everything
Khug: Somewhat interesting, excellent for coop with Hammerhome. Proximity to Cannor can either be good or really bad, depending on Escannbowl outcome
Amldihr: The actual OP hold for any% Aul-Dwarov speedrun, massive vassals and claims over literally entire old empire, you also get 4 holds right off the bat instead of 1
Verkal Skomdihr: Carpenter dorf, expansion is centered around conquering the woods instead of mountains to turn them into Halann's biggest furniture factory. Features wholesome elven and fey genocide too.
Verkal Gulan: This hold is all about money. Prone to getting hoardcursed early on due to insane income your hold gives. MT extends only to securing the middle serpentspine, the only really notable thing is massive buffs for mercs you get as them.
Ovdal Kanzad: Cannon dorfs, entire MT is dedicated to reclaiming the eastern portion of Empire. Can be difficult to play due to complete absence of allies and the fact you're surrounded by hostiles
I have also played the surface dorfs:
Silverforge: Very comfy MT about wholesome stripmines everywhere worked by slaves. You also need to have your diplomatic game on point due to MT being locked behind allying the emperor and having maxed out trust, which must NOT be Wex. Provides a neat free 100% resistance to murderhoho redhead worshippers.
Hammerhome: Surface dorfs that play coop with Khug. You basically play as any other Escannbowl nation but with Dorf flavor. You build a wall to keep the D*merians out.
I am currently starting Ovdal Lodhum with their new MT
What is Er-Natvir like?
unflavorful, outdated tree
Sad, I like the railroad theme.
Either Segdihr or the love dorfs in the western part of serpentspire.
Segdihr is more interesting, imo. They are trade dorfs who funnel outside welath into the mountains.
Very big MT.
I can't beat The Command
I can't dodge their stacks no matter how many times I try.
Even when I get behind their forts and keep sieging,
I still end up getting wiped out by his stacks.
I have also tried the often-abused slacken recruitment technique,
but it's kinda meaningless against the stacks.
So in order to win for sure the next time,
I'll be stocking up on nothing but Mercenaries.
that wont save you either
it's over for you
If you can't fight them head on, don't bother. Every tag that starts near them is unplayable. I don't know what idiot thought 'Ming, but really aggressive' was a good idea but they should be castrated and fed to dogs.
Command is more like the Ottokebab then Ming tbh
you can still do it as an adventurer company with some finesse
very difficult but possible
Who are you playing as, I've fought the command a few times and won after alot of bleeding
Get dip ideas and make friends. That's the best way to deal with big powers in EU4.
>he isn't able to solo the command as an adventurer
good, now form Verkal Dromak and embrace the schizo
how?
Neat can't beat airman reference anon
>harimari admin
>harpy military
God I love xiaken
Who'd you start as? The Xiaken themselves are horrendous now that the overlord gets -200 for taking 5 provinces and instantly declares war the second you're disloyal.
The northern tigers, just beelined for the harpies and switched military.
Overlord hasn't attacked me so far
jesus fricking CHRIST how can anyone enjoy playing serpentspine dwarfs
30 fricking years and I haven't seen a single other country, I'm constantly out of manpower fighting natives, even the fricking mercs are out of men
the events that are clearly supposed to deplete the native populations during uprisings don't work half the time so it's basically just extra chance for uprisings that I can barely fight at full strength, getting two in a row kills my entire army and then burns the colony down
that's the krakdhumvror experience
I was playing ovdal lodhum, but I guess they're all the same shit
>He doesn't straight up go around cleansing surrounding tiles.
NGMI
My favourite thing about this world's lore is how it's the God of War who made humans. It explains why despite being middle of the pack they can still end up btfoing everyone world over.
>>He doesn't straight up go around cleansing surrounding tiles.
>NGMI
I don't have enough fricking manpower or mil points for that
and the decision that said it would 'slaughter the orcs' only killed about a quarter of the natives
If you're colonizing a province with an orcish majority you need to have 10 regiments in the province to cleanse it. This works, I just did it today playing pink dwarves myself
I did that, 4700 went to 3300 after the fight. Saved me some points but that's it.
What exactly is the decision called for you? Perhaps there are different versions.
I thought only the love dwarves get the purge decision? Others have to do it the vanilla way
you are supposed to rush down the holds in your area and expand into caves only later
Yeah cavern provinces are shit in general, beeline for the holds via dwarf roads.
playing marrhold and the cav combat ability bonus from the MT worn off and now i can't get pass the mission where you need 40% cav ability
what do?
restart and do it faster
You can get like 30% cav combat ability from idea groups alone with aristocratic, quality and the aristrocratic+espionage policy.
Man that one fortress mission playing as a xiaken cracks me up
>build a fortress to hold off the command
Yeah I'm sure that +25 garrison growth and +15 garrison size (that last 10 years) bonus you get from it are gonna make a difference when the command rolls in with their 100k army at their weakest.
Apparently the post I replied to got deleted but whatever. What is the most enthralling nation on this game, with huge focus trees and roleplay flavor? Basically something that doesn't get boring after 1700
Venail.
Roadwarrior
Venail is boring as hell once you get rolling, you just stomp everything effortlessly.
I've tried Venail twice and failed it twice before I even got to the Rianvisa. There's something about that campaign that I find impossibly hard.
What the frick is hard about speedrunning colonies?
Not him but in my experience savecumming it Lorent chimps out and attacks you multiple times if one of their vassals fabs a claim or gets one on your island by random event. It makes early colonizing a pain in the ass.
Never attacked me despite having claims on my island
I do play on normal if that matters and; you can just give up your island anyway.
>Never attacked me
Yeah I think I've been unlucky in my Venail runs. I will routinely get gone on by the biggest Cannor powers because they want my colonies. Lorent, Verne, Pearlsedge, Deranne. Whoever ends up being the big colonial power.
beikdugang, jaddari
I've been playing as a xiaken and after my inital expansion I've just been farming a shitload of monarch points off of my rivals with
>attack rival
>beat the frick out of them
>show strength
>since I stackwiped them lose rivalry with them
>choose new rival
>repeat
I feel like I should have attacked the overlord by now but I've made thousands of monarch points of this.
First time I tried I got dommed by Verne and I wasn't prepared because I thought it was a comfy portugal campaign. 2nd time I got dommed by Lorent pretty early on and just couldn't deal with how much shit they had.
How do I get allied Xiaken to join my war for the Xiadao? They just sit at 0 reasons no matter what I do, favors for trust/prepare for war, super high opinion, nothing changes.
im early into my ibevar game, i got most of the electors allied, and the emperor is a gay, should i dismantle the empire ?
No. Unite The Empire
why
so what's new in the current bitbucket? any betatest MTs added?
Hammerhome, Bennon (I think) and Ravenmarch
Ravenmarch is still getting their localization. Also, there's Orlghelovar (Science/glass dwarves), that are also getting localization right now
what dwarf company spawns near orghelovar, from silverforge or rubyhold
The Death Tax mission for Esthil requires a treasurer of at least skill 2 which I've had for decades but the requirement is still unfulfilled. Is there something I'm missing or should I just use a command?
post the exact requirements in a photo and I'll decipher paradox-script for you
Here you go
is that fricking stellaris font? gross
Nevermind I just figured it out
and what was it?
I fired my old treasurer and hired another one and then it worked
idk. for my balrijin playthrough it said I needed to set up a headquarters for two groups, but I had already set them up but it wouldnt trigger. I am not sure if it messed up because I activated the two decisions on the same day paused so the flags did not properly trigger.
>MT requires damestar provinces
Frick you
i always nab moonisle when i can, great naval base too
>form one xia by force
>lose remaining vassals
>get attacked by the command one month later
I mean I get why this is an option, but it might as well be a "just frick my game up" button.
If you do it diplomatically you atleast face them after consolidating the region.
On another note they really should have delayed this update until the command got their disasters, mythical conqueror and even great conqueror to some degree is just unplayable imo if you start anywhere near them (or just play long enough, cause half the time they'll blob to you eventually.)
What are the best immortal/mage ruler nations? Already know about Esthil and Aelnar and have a Corvuria Midnight Monarchy game going rn.
any elf nation really, their rulers last 400 years, and so does the game
Huh I didn't think about that but you're right.
Very nice, thanks.
Frosthide and Chaingrasper both start with mages with high necromancy skill.
Alright I've assraped the command as hard as possible, occupied almost everything, drained their manpower as much as possible, and now I'm gonna peace out for max ducats and some land.
Hell the only reason I could even do this was because they didn't get a single great/mythical conqueror since 1444, had a shitty 2/2/2 ruler with shitty traits, they didn't have their discipline idea yet when I attacked, they were stuck in another war and had their troops spread apart, and I called in the raj which was in top shape. AND I'm playing as a nation with a busted military.
I'm gonna post the army ledger once the truce runs out to see if they'll recover after the 15 years.
What even makes the Command so busted anyways? Aside from a strong starting position, do they have strong Ideas? Easy expansion paths? Hobgobb Weeabo magic?
High manpower, start with 20 discipline, large army capacity
>strong starting position
extremely
>strong Ideas?
yes, plus strong racial military
>Easy expansion paths?
currently it seems the raj usually collapses, so usually at least one very large one
and typically the ai is not capable of dealing with them, so essentially everyone but you that borders them is a fairly easy expansion path
They're the size of ming from vanilla and have a military that's better than prussias. Also there's nothing nearby that can actually threaten them except a mythical conqueror raj, and even then the command usually bounces back after a lost war.
you tell me
Other than the Ideas, Racial modifiers and base religious stats (Which, to be fair, are still a lot), aren't most of these still WIP and not implemented?
dunno but that's what they have right now besides their commented out missions
So they removed the missions/disaster that posibly nerfs the command, but left the gocernment reforms and other buffs to them?
Amazing
Big surprise, turns out 15 years after getting obliterated they're basically back to exactly where they were beforehand, if you discount the slightly lower force limit from the provinces I took.
Economy is completely fine too even though I took 1500 ducats from them, I think the only thing that actually took a hit is their manpower which is down to 45k (but I'm pretty sure that has nothing to do with my war, and more with them sieging a single fort in another war with a 50k doomstack for the last three years)
Adenica gets better permanent modifiers than blademarches with shit like free +5 discipline for regent court, but blademarches gives you free claims on the deepwoods (which you'll conquer later anyways with castanor, but still)
Also adenica has a really great MT, while the blademarches one can't compete. Also you lose the based sword once you form castanor as BM, which is one of the best things about blademarches so that sucks.
>them sieging a single fort in another war with a 50k doomstack for the last three years)
So you're telling me, Dofmaxxing is the way to beat the Command?
Considering they're at 45k manpower with 20% professionalism left for another 20k manpower with slacking after already eating a shitload of attrition for 3 years, no. The command just tanks it.
Maybe I'm just a shitter, but from my experience when it comes to dealing with the command you either overwhelm them together with the raj and strong military or you abuse the frick out of the shitty eu4 ai with a roided up adventurer and hope for the best. And if they roll a great/mythical conqueror you just lose.
you're just shit.
Playing gobbos made me wonder what hobgoblin artificery would be like.
Speaking of which, do the harimari or the harpies get any race-exclusive inventions? Never really played either of those for long.
hobgoblins absolutely despise mages so idk if it'd even exist
>absolutely despise mages
Yeah, so do artificers.
I'm almost done with the Balrijin Tree. I only need to finish this one for the last Mission but I can't seem to get the prompt to build the last headquarter.
How do you get the option to build the last headquarter? It's not the decision tab
Find out which province it is and dev it up a bit. The headquarters have dev requirements. You can also upgrade your current ones further at certain dev numbers. So keep devving your headquarter provinces when you have spare mana.
Looks like my Balrijin mission tree is bugged.
Well, I guess that's the end of my Gold Kobold run.
just debug_mode it
>still nothing for black castanor
not-vikang bros...
should i go with blademarches or adenica to make castanor?
did they revert blademarches not being able to form castanor?
Any time frame for 1.1? Command and Kobolds were what I was most excited for tbh
>Kobolds
Kobolds will be on 1.1? Yipeee
I do wonder if the command is some big devs pet or something, cause I don't understand how some of them piss their pants over shit like +33 shock dmg for troll military to the point that they semi-regularly nerf racial militaries, yet stacking literally every single military modifier and giving it to a nation with hundreds of dev at the start is somehow fine and balanced.
the discord testers love the command because of how challenging it is, and as long as the same 2 people keep posting a new ebin quasi world conquest with meme tags literally every day, any kind of nerfs you ask will be seen as a skill issue
The Command is supposed to be the End Game
Anyone know how to unlock artificer inventions via console? I want to try them all out, but events don't work.
i love necromancy so much bros
Just finished a Daxugo campaign.
Want a comfy game of rolling in dosh with a side of stomping on neighbors.
Who to pick?
Marrhold has gold near them at the start and a lot and lot of stomping neighbors.
I honestly prefer Counts League into Castellyr.
I don't like them because they instantly broke alliance and rivalled me once I bordered them. I know it's just shit paradox mechanics but the impression was made and won't wear off.
Based.
Both you for judging the nation based on a singular bad experience, and Counts League for being sigma
Yeah real. Emergent storytelling is best. Forming your own opinion of factions through playing feels right.
Speaking of first impressions, by god do I detest the horseBlack folk and the big spurdo nation so much. Always meddle where they shouldn't. At least centaurs don't usually have allies, the finns simply ally each your target of expansion.
The horses are always my hopeful saviours. I frequently have problems with Grombar or spiralling dorfs. And I always look to the horses to apply a bit of pressure to them to give me a break. Only seen them do well in 1 campaign though. I've never had t he Lake Federation involve itself in anything to do with me.
It's always fun to use the local superpower as an ally for your own expansion and then ally with their enemies when they (or you) inevitably turn on each other. Really helps me understand how some nations in history did the same with less than stellar results
Like other anon said, Marrhold, although mine eventually got hard with giga Grombar to North and angry manlets to east.
Azkajuma is very easy to snowball with and they make deals with the Command, so they leave you alone. Feiten was easy with loads of dosh, but their mission tree keeps breaking for everyone, so maybe wait a while for that one. Corvuria I remember being really easy. Oh Silverforge was another one. Loads and loads of dosh and their neighbours over in Ibevar are supposed to be pretty easy, but I've never tried them.
Ibevar is fun to become Emperor and use the Expand Empire casus belli to turn all of Cannor and Escann into your vassals
Dwarves are an option as well, gold isn't rare in the Serpentspine and manpower issues are easily solved by quantity ideas.
What idea groups do you guys go usually the first three picks?
I often do quant+eco, the thrid varies, usually military to cement a good army but if I dominate the neigbors already, then trade or innovative.
which nation, turdlord
venail obviously goes expl/expa
If I'm playing the meta, Eco+Quant+Trade in pretty much any scenario. You just can't beat the Goods Produced, Dev Cost and Manpower this trio gives you.
If I'm playing an even mildly tech focused nation, I go Inno+Eco+Plut/Qua, to go full technocracy mode.
I mean it changes so much depending on who I'm playing and what the goal of my campaign is.
But I mean usually it'll be one of these 3 for each
>Admin
Admin/Relig/Inov
>Dip
Dip/Esp/Trade
>Mil
Quant/top right group/Qual
Then there's outliers that have very specific playing styles like Maritime or Colonial empires.
>Esp
Funny how espionage went from meme pick to viable pick recently. Guess the AE reduction + Advisor cost really works well.
>top right group
Based if not Aristocratic
Plut and theo are both pretty good. Anbennar has lots of cavalry nations, so I pick aristocratic more than I would in vanilla.
>Plut and theo are both pretty good
Also Horde. It's got some pretty gnarly modifiers like -AE and unrest.
> Anbennar has lots of cavalry nations, so I pick aristocratic more than I would in vanilla.
Fair
I forgot about horde. So few chances to play as them. But yeah it's designed specifically to supplement horde playstyle, so it's no brainer.
Also, Indigenous ideas are apparently a thing. And, somehow, pretty good?
Morale, Province warscore cost, Development cost, Idea Cost, manpower
What's up with Hehodovar? It's a dorf hold to the north from Segdihr. Uncolonized.
They got crazy good ideas with -5APC -20Dev -10Idea -10 Tech +50Innov gain, +5adm efficiency.
But no MT.
Are they in the public fork yet?
It's not been done yet, though the outline has been made
Ynnics are Slavic inspired, at least in language
Where can you get a list of every MT in the game like this alogn with potential formables?
in the mod folder
That is an outline from the discord. There is https://sites.google.com/view/anbennar-missions/missions
but it doesn't have tags without missions.
Pretty sure it's ideas are good because it's the dwarf dev's self-insert
Who are the river guys supposed to be based on everyone else is obvious like not china and not europe but what are these guys
The Ynnic river nerds? North Aelnar is full fantasy. There are no real world comparisons. There's like celtic fey elves in Eordand, weird mutated degenerated races and loads of different kinds of native cults. The Ynnic river people are a mix. The main bunch being Malacnar who are like a combination of cultures that end up basically being Klingons.
Amazons, except male.
How do I play Centaurs, do I stop subjugating and start seizing land past a certain point so they don't all get stronger than me or just keep going without settling until 1475? Asking because I did that last time and eventually my vassals got too strong, lost too much horsepower to keep the balance.
why do you have vassals
You want to be migrating towards the lake fed and using centaur subjugation from december 11th, getting as many centaur subjects as possible to complete your basic mission tree while you invade the lake fed, if other centaurs block a land connection then just annex them. You want to settle your horde after you've taken a nice chunk of the lake fed so you won't immediately die economically from losing your mission tree modifiers.
After that you'll invade the lake fed while subjugating every centaur and using integrate subject every five years to try and get a land connection out of the forbidden plains
You want to settle your horde around 1450, you should have annexed a few lake fed countries by then. You need to go fast as centaurs
have you played centaurs?
thanks
>be fengwuzhe
>eat 75% of other xiaken
>other 25% got annexed by jiangliusi
>he also allied 4 other random nations
>can't attack him for xiadoa because his alliances have 5x my troops
>none of them ever go to war or have any other reason to decline a defensive call
>can't even ask someone to support independence
So what am I supposed to do here, just sit and wait until he gets bored and declares on me, and hope he doesn't call anyone else in?
where's the command
Right next door. With no truce. And 91k troops. I'm scared.
While the war is still going or after I get half my land given away?
I unified Xia as Jilin, what I did was simply blob as fast as I could and allied the bigger xiaken which were Fengwuzhe and the green toxic one and they don't attack you if they are allied when you declare war on jiangliusi, then just attack it right after the imminent first Command attack.
how are you supposed to play the lake morons the centaurs go around invading everyone with their 100k+ troop vassal swarm while everyone just gives them military access then you get a meme crisis where everyone fights each other while half the island is getting gobbled up, you would think they would get some defensive pact when the 100k vassal swarm invades but apparently not
>playing JADD
>finally blob enough to form JADD empire so i stop choking on the low governing capacity
>unique disaster shows up in the menu
Am I supposed to keep balancing east and west to stop it, or is it something you're supposed tackle as early as possible?
just let it fire, it's fun
>When you lose the Religious League war because Lorent and it's 95k troops never leave their borders and just keep singing the same Gawedi fortress for 12 years
>Gawed is your ally and you are enemies of Lorent
>Lorentish blitzkrieg occupies the southern half of Gawed while the Gawedi have their army split up in little stacks doing sweet frick all nowhere near enemy armies
>Lorent is your ally and you are enemies of Gawed
>The exact same but in reverse
I swear it's like a Total War game sometimes where the AI is purposefully coded to act moronic when they're allied to the player
with what nation can I do full chinese larp? with content preferably
Bianfang or whatever the white one in the middle is called = Ming reclaimer.
Nuugdan Tsarai, the nomads in the North will become Qing. Both have content, although the latter have much more.
>drank 4 pints of beer and took a nap today
nations for this feel
There's that dwarf hold near The Command who specializes in beer
While the beer focus is neat, i don't think playing next to the command is comfy
what the frick? competent c**t's league?
dwarfCOPE
there's an imposter among us
Does anyone know what the Tolerance events are or where to find them, I'm playing the Pink sun elf and I can pretty much form the Phoenix Empire but I want to finish my MT first which is just me making harpies and goblins be integrated, I focus the Gobos but have not seen a single event from them at all, and I have accept both cultures
race menu - race focus - more events
it really turns up the dial, you'll have it in no time
if you want to do it faster, do debug_mode and see its event_xyz so you can fire it again yourselves
I have but I've not been getting of them firing
Well if this is true that might explain it, but I think I have a harpy minority in the copper dwarf hold, (they got expel by another dwarf and I accept them in and thats where they settled) but that could explain the goblins I don't think I have any living as minorities anywhere
Thansk fren
Oh I wasn't sure, first time going for a Phoenix empire
Here what I have going on currently
forming the phoenix empire extends your missions it doesn't replace them
anbennar mod folder>events>anb_racial_pop_events_x
Racial events can only happen if you have a minority of a race in your country, harpies and goblins are the majority in all provinces they're in
what are some fun, long mission trees? i don't necessarily mean, like, Castanor long, but i don't wanna be done by 1550
all the new ones, really + i like marrhold, telgeir, ibevar
The Raj is fun and long.
If you'we into that sowt ow thing... 0w0
Trolls
Halflings
Rezankand, Aelantir
Frosthide->Skurokli. I finished the first 1/3rd in 1550. Took my sweet time meticulously consuming the lake fed. Worth noting too that taking my time to finish them off means that all of my provinces are 40-50 dev. We fat.
>Skurokli
What's their deal? deleting nations and consuming their Dev for themselves?
your goal is to literally eat everyone
after eating lake fed you start eating your way west, but you keep most the land in the beginning
More or less. It differs from Roadwarrior in that you take your time and conquer an entire region and then one click to start the feeding frenzy. Ogres are all about absorbing power from those they eat, and under the guidance of an immortal blood ogre who wandered out of the northern forests and killed and ate all the lesser clan leaders you set out to eat everything.
You only need 15 lake fed provinces to click this button, but the further you go the more you'll get out of it when you do. The eventual goal, and what the mission tree triples in size after clicking this to achieve, is crossing the northern wastes and eating the entirety of Cannor. Colonizing the Northern Pass is a pain in the ass though so there's no real reason not to hang around blobbing until Grombar/Dwarves bridge the gap for you. Then you feast, and with full bellies turn your eyes west.
Also you can raze so again, no real reason not to harvest every inch of their dev to keep up on tech.
>the further you go the more you'll get out of it when you do.
How further are we talking? Like, Haless further?
Eitherway, pretty cool
Nah, just the lake fed for the first part. I just meant "taking the minimum 15 provinces" vs "digging in and taking all 150"
Also also there's a sub-mission tree that grants steadily increasing buffs as you win battles. One I'm currently grinding towards requires 250 wins, and there's plenty of room below it for there to be more.
Show us the event!
Too late for that, but have this instea-
>may raid coasts
aahaha. ahahahahhahahahaha. ahahahahahhaha.
I'm sorry, what the frick? Pirate ogres?
ogre eat, ogre gain abilities of food. ogre eat viking, ogre be viking.
> ogre eat, ogre gain abilities of food
How well implemented is this in the game? Besides the whole "steal their dev" thing, does it feel like you're actually gaining traits related to whichever culture/people you eat?
I see this raiding thing, and it bodes well, but I'm wondering if there are other things like it
I think it's more that the mission gives you buffs like any other mission tree, it's just these missions give you buffs in line with the people you conquer. So it wouldn't be like a pop system sort of deal like Horatio from ES2. Just a well designed thematic mission tree.
> Just a well designed thematic mission tree.
That's all I could hope for. Thanks!
Frick, time to go and replay these guys. I thought they were done when I played.
Awesome!
How did you deal with the early centaur dow?
They attack me and have like 30-40k troops while i can barely scrape 12k.
It's mainly a matter of moving extremely fast. Run as many of your early wars in parallel as you can. You need a little luck to not have centaurs take any ogre lands, but it's not crazy to have all of the ogres united by 1460. If they do declare, just play defensively. Kite them out, take battles on forts, only move in when it's decisive. You also have a godly general to do a lot of heavy lifting. Keep yourself one or two regiments over forcelimit, and get a good merc company if you need. Once you've thinned things out a little (do not expect to drain their manpower lol, just scatter them) pick a good moment to base race. Again, godly general will help here. Just put everything you have into rushing their capital. Hopefully, with the capital and a bunch of good battles won, you can peace out for 30-50 WS. If they don't declare on you, you'll have to take the initiative yourself sooner rather than later. You can't let them coalesce without you getting less than a couple words in.
Man, I just checked the date in my campaign. I'll never understand how you people conquer shit so quickly.
>I'll never understand how you people conquer shit so quickly.
I learned how to go sanic fast like half a decade ago when I went for big blue blob and the golden horde achievements from vanilla where you have to reform in like 50 years, and I learned when I can ignore aggressive expansion on my one faith run at around the same time.
But that was way back when vanilla wasn't garbage and the game didn't have shit like governing capacity and the AI wasn't braindead.
AE can be mitigated. This specific region allows that fairly quickly, as you can only build AE with tags you see, and you'll fight and have truces with all nations in the region, ergo AE will be a non-factor and can be ignored.
Regions like Cannor can be exploited by using Improve Relations and reduced AE modifiers combined with keeping all nations around 0 opinion, where opinion modifiers decay fastest.
>hmm we need to add flavor to a country what should we do
>i know lets just give them moronic op combat bonuses and call it a day
why is literally every country in this mod like this?
>genocide entire population of a province
>-2 development
well ok then
>guwamuud gets harem mechanics
>kobold, tigerwoman gfs
Time to start conquering the oni for a red gf.
explain further
sex with monster girls
Are you really locked out of castanor if the ai kills the gaytricians?
Are there countries built around necromancy?
Like an evil edgy overlord, conquering everybody?
Iron Sceptre->Esthíl-> Black Demensene is the prime evil necromancer nation. With extra dose of edgy
Will try them, thank you!
isn't corvia also kinda a necromancy nation?
I thought corvuria was vampires
>Necromancy
Esthil
>Like an evil edgy overlord, conquering everybody?
Aelnar and Black Demesne. Moredhal will be that as well, but it's a massive WIP.
Isn't Moredhal scrapped forever?
It's just on an indefinite hiatus. The prior implementation got scrapped, but it was a bad implementation to begin with.
what happened
Was it the because it was made by the same guy who had a Demon Gnoll Fetish who got banned for being Too Into PseudoPenis?
I may be conflating two different bits of drama here in fairness
Guy just stopped working on it and the work was shid.
I think this is a rumour that just evolved.
The Moredhal implementation was shit, then Cannor got a content lock in preparation for Haless
Man, Guwaamud really goes hard. I'm already essentially unrivalled in Yanshen and it isn't even 1500.
Can Jahe-Kelino and Kano-Kelino cultures spawn without cheating? I've looked up and Jahe-Kelino is supposed to be some kind of half-elven criollo culture, and I'm guessing the Kano are Kelino Harimari? Were these ideas dropped while their cultures remained in game? I can't find anything about them in Arawkelin's tree
Kano Kelino are basically hapas/mestizos, aka half-white (Cannorian) and half-not!Asian (Kelino)
And do they show up somehow?
Not yet..
I wish there was a list of nations with a "finished" MT that clearly leads into a formable that has no content but will someday maybe/maybe not.
Shits starting to piss me off.
im still mad that anbenncost's final mission got changed from TBD to whatever, and when you click it, it instead says TBD on the pop-up
i really thought i'd get to form damerian republic, had to switch to monarchy, form dameria, then go republic again, good enuf
Let's make one
>Shattered crown, undergrowth goblins - udzen troice, amldihr/dwarves - aul dwarov
>ynn natives - ynnic empire, kheoniaoi
>marblehead/exodus goblins - aqatbar overclan
>dhenijanraj - harimraj
>ourdia
>wood elves - cyranvar
what else?
Cyranvar is pretty much complete. It only has like a couple of missions that have TBC right?
dostanor
Like that other anon said, Anbenncost.
Also a less egregious example, corintar.
From the bitbucket, Hammerhome is this. The final mission to form the Balgaric Empire even says it adds more missions, then just doesn't.
are you sure you're playing the dev version? my hammerhome run had the full expanded tree a week ago
Don't forget Empire of Anbennar and Dameria (I know it has a MT, but let's be honest, that MT is clearly just a 1.5/2.5 when you form it as Rogeria.
I can't believe that Anbennar as well as Gawed and Lorent haven't received any content since launch basically. That's as if vanilla would just have MTs for every nation but for France, Britain, Austria, Prussia and Russia. It just seems baffling.
>another ctd in the dwarovar
its fricking misery
I've been having 1 per session since the update. It's not just the dwarovar.
The command just flopped over and died this run. They were doing good so far, but somehow had 15k troops and zero manpower after fighting fengzhaobu, not one xia, but the one independent xiaken. They then got a coalition from bhuvari and the raj and i declared and wandered around stackwiping their small stacks with a miltech advantage. I didn't even get to use the fort defense magic because the command didn't even count as being stronger than me
Is that fast universalis? Does it make the game run much faster? I'm thinking about trying it if there's a big difference
The command will sometimes get fricked up within the first few decades, and sometimes it will fall behind in tech in the 1500s, those are the two times it's most vulnerable
im drunk sad and just had a wank, tags for this feel ?
Black Castanor
Dameria
Dostanor
Aul-Dwarov
never played as an adventurer before, what are the things i should be doing in the beginning? I want to play sword covenant specifically
Bully orcs and gobbos and take as much tribal land as you can. Eventually You'll settle and the land will go from tribal to proper land. You can't really go to war with other adventurers at the start though. Also when I play, I tend to migrate towards Castonath to make it my capital, but that's entirely up to you.
so i should be taking land as early as possible? With the nomadic devastation i thought that maybe that land would get fricked too
>so i should be taking land
you cant
ok so what should i do before settling?
take TRIBAL land
k gonna play now wish me luck
get money
get b***hes (tribal land)
Is Grombar dare I say one of the strongest nations when it comes to scaling?
I feel like I hit a wall. Not even sure how the massive !not-Scandinavia blob when they come to the serpent spine mountains or if they only got bigger because I ate half of Grombar and they ate the other half.
hol up
i integrated a big hammerhomosexual vassal i nurtured all game, and now i get naval doctrine? is my navy in the silvermere?
What is your naval forcelimit coming from? All it checks for is >20FL when allowing you to pick a doctrine, but I'm not sure how you got up to 20 from the base. Thankfully the hover tooltip should help.
naval supplies gives a flat +0.5 naval force limit and the base is 12 so if he has 16 provinces with naval supplies at 0% autonomy he would have 20 naval force limit without a single coastal province, same is true for trade company provinces as well, and the naval force limit for those isn't affected by autonomy
the frick moredhal supposed to be anyways
the root mor- tells me it will prolly be evil
Basically Cheliax.
huh?
demon worshippers within the cannorian pantheon or some shit like that
It's the Regent Court but the side that lost the Godwar. Agrados & buddies.
so more corin simps?
Corin simps are such pitiful white knights that they pretend their avatar wasn't empowered by the general of Hell and that she was actually a paragon of all that is good and lightly and Castellian. They are not the same.
based is what it's supposed to be
any "good" factions in escann that get to genocide orcs and half orcs?
adenica its literally in the picture
would marhold be considered one?
you will apparently be able to purge orcs (as well as all other non humans) as Moredhal
Say what you will about the Black Demesne but they keep the trains running on time
wait, is there actually infernal court content? can you play as a kazraiel worshipper?
Castanor, but it turns into Mordor/Cheliax. Humans in a demon-worshipping death cult who want to conquer Cannor and subjugate lesser races.
Is there a reason not to switch to hobgob military as one xia?
I mean harpy is great and so is harimari, but hobgob seems to be the best racial military in the game from what I can see.
I've always wanted to like Corvuria, but I don't want to play as Dracula wannabes. I wish the "kick out vampires and reform dostanor" path was more than just an afterthought, cause gnoll genocide and reclamation part of Corvuria is more interesting to me than the "infiltrate the empire and suck their blood bleh" path they want you to take.
>entire country's theme is vampires
>no i dont want vampires
ok moron
>kick out vampires and reform dostanor
Isn't that what Ravenmarch is shaping out to be?
>two games in a row now the centaurs have just brute forced their way through the salge, conquered all of the lakes countries and pushed out of the plains, becoming the 3rd-2nd rank great power
b-bros?
I played this mod for the first time today. Wasn't sold on it, plus all the latest updated seemed SJW shit, with too many epic warrior women and non-europeans.
Played as the goblins, won against the dwarves by losing 90% of my battles and making them zero on manpower and just straight up die. Was pretty neat
>update focusing on Rahan and Halass the india and China of the settling >Complains about it being non-europeans
Its just too much effort, I subscribe to the EU3 mentality of keeping these lands with minimal content and just there so the euros can colonize it. Japan gets a pass because funny samurai people, but this world doesn't even have a Japan
>this world doesn't even have a Japan
... The Command? They might not be an island, but they are japanese inspired warrior people with a strng sense of honour.
No wonder they are also massively OP currently, more than half the dev team are probably weeaboos
Command is Ming. There's a bunch of islands off the Haless coast that will obviously be used for a Japan analogue, and the Xiaken/Wulin literally uses Daimyo mechanics.
>Command is Ming
Explain. Just because they start with lot's of dev doesn't make them Ming.
There's nobody using Celestial Mandate mechanics and they've got effectively no competition. They're the closest to Ming we've got.
Kheterata will be using them in the next update.
No, Insayaa is a lost continent full of Kaiju and robots. It will be blocked off by a massive eternal storm until the rest of the world figures out how to get in.
Mechanically they might fill a similar niche in the sense of being a major asian power, but other than that they have really different roles, Ming being a strong yet fragile behemoth that relies on its size and is mostly stagnant, and the Command being an extremelly militarized expansionist state.
If we're talking flavor (which, at least since the original post was talking about " funny samurai people" seems to be the area we're looking at) then the compaisson is even more stupid, as they culturally have almost nothing to do with the Chinese
I think the islands are going to be polynesian analogue. There will be no not-japan.
I think you might be moronic
>why isn't this completely different alien world ruled by european and japonese men wtf is this sjw bullshit
They made the fantasy world, and for european men to be all "yeah, I am gonna focus on pajeets" is just plain weird
This is the sort of unrestrained /misc/ autism that you can only find on Ganker.org. moronic, but uniquely charming
I dunno about charming. This is the sort of shit I used to say to get attention as a teenager. Problem is that a large chunk of autistic people didn't realise it wasn't serious and have grown up in an echo chamber to genuinely think that.
I can't tell if you are fricking around or not. There are no europeans in the game, unless you count BLACK orcs
How to know a person is a M*rrican.
DID THE NEW TAGS GET UNIT MODELS YET?
Please tell me that Verne gets wyvern riding mega-cav later in the game
I don't know if it's that great, but they do get wyvern cavalry.
Verne MT is short and old, you attack the hill gnomes and spends some years and money looking for Wyverns Eggs on the mountains and then get some shock bonus. Apart from this and building a "monument" (not a Great Project as it is pre-Leviathan), you just get standard claims on north africa and east dameria plus some colonization bonuses.
What's Gawed's identity? Lorent is easy what with their elf boner and frenchness but Gawed just seems like a big northern blob?
>Lorent is easy what with their elf boner
Gawed is the literal opposite. Angry Germanic elf haters.
Lorent's flag is fricking ugly. Gawed is Enlgand but on land.
>continental anglos
that's the most cursed shit I've ever heard of
England but on land! Japan but on land! Not to be confused with Russia but an island and Spain but an Island.
Not!Spain is on land, you are thinking about Portugal but an island.
Don't forget Tibet but it's a vassal blob, the Mongols but they ride birds, and Korea but it's sideways.
>Tibet but it's a vassal blob
Might seem unbelievable now but this actually happened at one point. They even sacked Chang'an so hard that the Chinese are still seething about it to this very day (a medieval Nanking if you will)
Gawed was supposed to be the norf from ASOIAF, but they added human racism and german autism.
>german autism.
I thought gawed was russia?
They're related to Wex and they're both not-germanics from the not-migration era. Grombar is Russia.
>Grombar is Russia
Grombar is Ottomans
Marblehead/Overclan is Ottomans.
really? their military absolutely sucks
Well, they get bonuses to discipline, morale and manpower and their story is about conquest and integration of all races of Bahar, located roughly in the same place Anatolia would be. Essentially, by the end of their ideas/mission tree, which can be finished 100 years into the game, they get all bonuses of goblin military with very little drawbacks and strong ideas that go well with the humanist group, as well as -10% technology cost.
>Marblehead
They can't make a unholy alliance with France
>verne mt spends lods of emone looking for wyvern eggs
>when every other adventurers wanted event is a wyvern deciding to make one your provinces its nest
Does anyone even read the adventurers wanted pop ups? I just ignore them until they go away. Really don't get why they added that.
Yeah, seems like a flavorfull but ultimately pointless system. Not much you can do to interact with it otehr than set some policies and hope it goes away
I like seeing how they're different for monstrous nations instead of civilized nations. Other than that however, I mostly just roll my eyes and click those boxes away (or silently seethe if it's an event with like -50% goods produced or something)
>playing arawkelin
>finish half of their tree by the early 1500s
>burned the entire rainforest already
>rest of their tree require me convert to ravelianism and have artificers
wake me up in 4 hours /anbg/
>harpies get river crossing penalty
Fricking wild. Kind of cool considering I was trying to make my ruler a lich as well and then hunger demon comes and gets him. Makes me really want a proper demon nation.
Holy shit.
Don't make him a general or he'll die anyway :^)
Yeah I know how it works.
Nothing was "fixed," Rancor is special. If he dies, you have a 0/0/0 interregnum for a while until he just, like, walks out of the woods again, doesn't mention what happened, and gets back to eating.
Yeah I mean they can't fix it, but they've been making work arounds with liches and stuff where they die and come back.
he spawns as a general, rancor can't die anyway
Yeah I just noticed he was a general and panicked. Thank frick they fixed that garbage. I can get immortal generals dying or leaving, but having your leader die because of it was always horrid.
Is it possible to get mage rulers for dwarovar orcs?
yes, but I don't think any tag is themed around it
>Stack wiping 20k horse stacks
Feels good to be ogre.
Tried playing as gnomes but Gawed declares on me very quickly. How can I even survive this, getting allies is impossible, everyone hates gnomes.
Reset until you can ally either gawed or lorent
Can't ally Gawed because they desire my land at game start. Can't ally Lorent because nimscodd is too weak at game start and i'm different religion.
Scornful insult on someone will make their rival like you more. Rivaling someone's rival will make them like you more. Allying someone's ally will make you like them more. Keep all of those in mind if you didn't already know about them. You can influence the AI into liking you if you really go for it.
sunlight's back on the menu boys!
ALBERTO BARBOSA HAS ARRIVED YOU GOBSHITS
well, that was easy... so, where da brown wimmen at
why didn't you conquer arg ordstun for feudalism and cash first
9/11 of bulwar, did they deserve it?
ain't nobody got time for that, you get feudalism instantly from aqatbar anyways
bird pussy will do for now
>mfw mage ruler on young gryf
pro-tip: if you dont see others, they be angry at you (undiscovered nations dont accumulate AE)
shid
DELET
He isn't long for this world anyway, and his necromancy is shit tier so can't make him a lich either.
All this infamy he gained from shapechanging at sieges kek. Infamous for his grugmode. And he died as I were writing this post.
those forts are hideous
Small mountain country, prease understand, all money goes to the army.
then delete them, you still pay half when they're mothballed
maybe keep one of the two north-west forts but the rest are junk
You have a point I suppose, I'll just delete them for the time being as I'm not planning to go to war soon.
>hit 1490
>constant crashing
>check logs
>apparently game is calling a cavalry unit that doesn't exist
>I have all DLCs
cool
right, well, great mod, if you only want to play the first 50 years
every search result is either 'you're missing a unit pack' which I'm not, or 'you're using another mod', which I'm also not
considering literally no one else has this problem it's 100% because you fricked something up you utter moron
morons DO NOT post a new thread until this one hits page 9
the board is SLOW this thread can last up to 800
janny will delete the threads
whats the best goblin tag, MT wise and fluff, stuff like that, maybe even a formable
im somewhat miffed that, city goblin culture exists, but no tag for escann gobbos who start right next to castonath
Heard good stuff about Rocket Gobbs, aka Railskulker.
The singular complaint I've hear regarding them is that their formable (overclan) looses some of the flavor
Railskulker - Gobbos cosplaying as gnomes
Snotfinger - Gobbos that have mandatory orc and dorf purging
I think Marblehead is probably what you are looking for. Somewhat more civilised and they turn into a Bulwar gobbo nation
Gobbos have been somewhat shafted though. Having no Escann Gobbo formable or forest formable sucks. I hate playing in the mountains.
i fricking hate the mountains too, spent the first years of this mod playing zero flavor dorfs, never again
maybe gobbos will fix this revulsion
City goblins are meant for Bayvic, they can spawn already but it's very RNG dependent
i know, but it still sucks, you have a huge empty city, a migratory goblin tag next to it, and a city goblin culture - just add a formable so i dont have to play the entire game as flung snot, bent wiener or whatever
>he's not a Feetsniffer appreciator
Is it even possible to complete that mission?
nope. jaddari also had this before haless update. a lot of "lore" stuff isn't in the mod yet
playing Bulwar is a waste until not-africa update imo, unless you haven't played it before
playing coloniser focused nations too since not-africa will drastically change not-America gameplay by adding a second focus for colonising nations
Ah man, i am playing my first round of Anbennar. When doing a Verne colonizer run, i didn't realize that most of the southern continent is unfinished.
Still having a blast though. The Aelantir colonies are great, because the ruin elves actually fight back brutally. The Greeks even destroyed my well-established colony while i was not looking.
What would be an interesting nation that is 100% finished already?
ogres or roadwarrior (green OPM in the mountains) - unique mechanics on both
my personal favourite is marrhold, much like verne its monster cav, but instead of wyverns its griffons
Grombar, anything in Escann, anything in the Empire that doesn't look like a colonizer, most dwarven holds, anything in not-China (east of the Command, north of the big ass mountain range)
My favorites are Beikdugang, Balrijin, Ibevar and Seinathil
most empire nations are pretty bland because they were made so long ago (empire dwarfs are good though)
but many are getting reworks
if you had fun colonising as Verne do Venail, their entire focus is on Aelantir so Sarhal being empty doesnt matter for them
but i think they will be more fun when Sarhal has content so that every nation in Cannor isnt all plowing into Aelantir but they are still fun
Krakdhumvror if you want to try dorfs.
Or Segdihr.
why was Haless was made before Sarhal
both Cannor and Haless nations interact with it, Bulwar needs it too
plus it changes the colonisation game for every nation
Cannor needs it for interaction with Haless
just makes more sense to me for it to be before Haless
>couple weeks ago update comes out
>first nation I play is oni
>form demon empire and see that I have to go up against the command that early
>take a break for a couple weeks with that game and play another couple nations
>come back to the oni campaign today
>spend like an hour on the first war against the command and with a combination of sky high fort defense and abusing the moronic ai I barely manage to take the provinces I need
>attack bianfang in between truces
>meanwhile the command gets wrecked by the raj and has to release nations (first time I've ever seen the command fall apart without major player intervention pre 1600, it's like 1480 at this point)
>get excited to take the free land of the newly released nations
>save for the first time today
>CTD
So I loaded up the campaign again and apparently an update for the mod or something must have corrupted the savegame.
Frick me, this was literally the first time I've seen the command implode and it was as the Oni and this shit happens, never playing them again until the command disasters are in the game.
You know, maybe chivalry and griffons aren't so important...
Yep. Certainly isn't.
>magocracy
>Dame, not Adean
>No quality +10cav
>No aristocratic +10cav, thus no +10cav with espionage
do you even griffonmax bro
Do skeletal griffons make good cavalry?
metal
Chadhold is over.
