>Is it worth investing into Star Citizen now?
>now
anon it was never worth it
except not really because only a fraction of the money raised has gone into actual game development
>Cost more to develop
*Stolen more money than
Lmao seething commie mad that gigachad devs earn more money by doing honest work than his chink gacha with all the gambling tricks.
Yes, this is one of the best times to get into the game. You can now buy a huge ship bundle for $6000 that's comparable to the limited edition founder's bundle that used to cost $20.000. They might discontinue it soon, this will let you save a shitload of money compared to buying the ships individually later.
yeah you'd be a fool not to take that deal
thats 14 grand in your pocket right there
>$6000
>used to cost $20.000
What a fricking grift. Anyone who buys this shit should be sterilized.
Well, you didn't vote with your wallet, why do you complain now?
Not complaining, it's just hard to watch people get taken advantage of in such an obvious manner. Even if you have the money you're still being played. Happens a lot with the super rich actually.
I'm genuinely surprised, who'd pay this much money for an early access games. First, I thought that simulator players were weird because they'd buy expensive controllers and a single simulator plane or helicopter ow whatever can cost like another AAA game. Then I thought gacha players were moronic for gambling away money in exchange for girl pictures. But paying this much money for Star Citizen - this just baffles me.
Yeah man, droves of people just dropping 20,000 for JPEGs. Your neighbor's probably one of them.
I'm being facetious. It's a bit ridiculous that you and the other one even think this is commonality among SC backers. The only people dropping $20k are the people that have way more than that in liquid assets or otherwise. Use ya brain.
I don't actually think it would be THAT weird if SC actually lived up to the hype and it was basically just a simulated space faring experience that was very stable and had a lot of people playing it
like it would be like EVE with people getting super involved in it, spending a lot of money to make like ACTUAL SPACE CORPORATIONS IN GAME... but the game isn't like this, it's a fricking SCAM asking for 5k ships and promising all the above "later maybe lol"
I thought I was getting tired of buy decent early access games that take forever to get finished, imagine spending 10k on a PART of a game that will never get finished.
Is this a joke? Can you even get anything using ingame currency? Craft, trading, farming, anything?
>and every game that can be bought with dosh
Every ship, my bad.
Imagine how many individual video games you could enjoy for 6 grand.
None. There aren't any good games you could enjoy.
>six fricking grand
>20 fricking grand
You could put a down payment on a luxury car with six grand and a nice house with 20 grand, what the frick
imagine being so poor that you can't blow a few grand on your hobby
A fool and his money are easily departed
It's more that is a ritard that doesn't know what it is talking about.
You "buy" ships now to "help fund development," and every game that can be bought with dosh at the moment will be earnable through in game currency (ship purchases are considered "pledges" by CIG, which it tells you repeatedly before you even put your card information in and literally right after you click buy, you have to confirm it).
Supposedly they're going to cease ship sales for real cash when the game releases, but I'm not gonna hold my breath on that. They may drop sales for some things like the fricking Idrisi or Javelins that people are never going to find enough players to actually crew, but I sincerely doubt that they'll ever stop selling starter packs or some of the near-entry tier ships like the Cutlass lineup.
>like the fricking Idrisi or Javelins that people are never going to find enough players to actually crew
The thought that some people will be so cucked they'll be willing to spend their free time being a literal npc for some whales Captain larping is hilarious
I don't get it either. If anything it just forces the dev into figuring out a way to get NPCs working well enough to crew for you, but again, seeing is fricking believing and we haven't seen that yet.
>Not using some of the money you have left over after spending 50k on ships to hire a plucky crew of 3rd world MMO gold farmers to man your vessel
You ever heard of a little bit of wiener and balls action? Anyway, man, I love Virtual Space Capitalism
You'd think this was a joke, but who keeps up with this information just to make this joke? lmao
>I don't understand how people could get off on spreading misinformation about a topic people are already inflamed by
now THAT'S value
Can you actually say it cost to develop when it doesn't exist?
Will Starfield make space exploration games more popular or will it steal Star Citizen's thunder?
Starfield is reskinned fallout. It's just a space themed console movie like ass effect. Not a real space game.
>Steal scam citizens thunder
What thunder? Shits been in development for longer than yandere sim and even years ago people were clowning on its cult like followers.
star citizen also has more content than those 3 games right now, but Ganker doesn't want to hear that
no, it doesn't
And it’s still inferior in every way to all of those games LMFAO.
It's more of a game than any console garbage like tlou.
The quality of the game is irrelevant. It will never be finished because every make billions perpetually developing it and promising new shit they will never deliver on.
I'm not sure why anyone expected anything else when the same guy behind this did this exact shit during Freelancer development. Except in that case he had someone over his head who eventually got sick of his shit and kicked him off the project so that it would actually release at some point in his children's lifetimes.
this "game" is proof gamers are one of the most moronic naive consoomers of all time, no wonder the industry is flooded with microtransactions and p2w, most devs openly hate their audience and people keep asking for more
>gamers invest into extremely niche genre that no one except them likes, instead of AAA copypasted movies, console garbage and gambling sims
>noooo you were supposed to consooom the popular slop like me
>invest
lmao
If you have $20,000 to throw away on a single digital ship then make your own game. No decent person would ever charge that kind of money to fund their project for an in-game item. It's clear this whole thing is just to bleed whales.
want a laugh?

>enjoy your $600 experience
I feel a bit dirty for visiting r*dd*t though
Who the frick pays 600$ for a fricking virtual spaceship?
Star Citizen cultists, and that's cheap by their standards.
people who aren't poorgays.
Shit budgeting and throwing money at stupid shit like this for nothing more than bragging rights is a sure sign of a poorgay. Rich people don't get rich by calling for obvious scams and throwing all their money away like this.
It says ships there. And that's just what the idiot claims to have spent in a single month. He's probably given them a lot more money than just 600.
>still worse than all those games
lmao, scam citizen cultists will defend this
I guess today is the day I actually learn what this game is. I haven’t read much about it and was under the impression that it was still out of consumers’ hands.
And it already got mogged by Starfield, literal Bethesda jank...
Star citizen hasn’t actually cost that much to develop, all the money is actually going into the owners back pocket. It’s just a massive scam
Star Citizen is like funko pops for lonely 30+ year old engineers and IT specialists. Tons of disposable income since no family, friends or real interests and nothing else to do with their time other than jerk eachother off about how this is going to be the greatest game ever when it releases.
50 years ago all of these morons would have been at Waco worshiping Koresh and shooting at ATF agents and at least giving us something cool to read about, instead they're buying virtual spaceships.
I'm kind of amazed this kind of shit is legal. There's nothing wrong with a game taking ages to finish, but continuously taking money from people for its development seems like it should be illegal after a certain point. Like they'll make more developing the game then ever actually finishing it. As long as they don't finish it, the cultists can just say "wait until it's done, then make your judgement!"
This "game" has gotten millions and it sucks
>Is it worth investing into Star Citizen now?
Yes. It is the best space epic RPG on the market and no amount of shartfield shilling (hello OP!) will change that.
