Deadfire was pretty much the same. The writers on his team shat on his grounded approach, shat on his world building, shat on his principles regarding romance, and he put up a smile and defended it because it wasn't want the "chuds" wanted.

What was the point of raping the Fallout lore and setting even more with a souIIess Amazon show? All of Bethesdas games put it in the grave and then they just had to fill the grave with dung and burn it. What was the point? Is it some sort of demoralization fetish?
Bethesda wants Fallout 5 to be in San Francisco, but they don't want to deal with the NCR, or a deteriorated Brotherhood.
So they just fricking nuked them, and brought Brotherhood back so Fallout 5 CAN be drab and brown and still be "canon"
That's what I thought, but Bethesda has specifically said Obsidian can't use San Francisco because they have plans for it.
Then there's the shot of Golden Gate in Fallout 4, the random inclusion of Hubologists, and now wiping the west coast slate clean when they could have done this literally anywhere and avoid pissing off the fans.
If anything it seems like an Old World Blues game that got out of fricking control.
The worst part about this is that they can do a good job with the east coat but for some reason they have to frick with the west coast for whatever reason, probably because it's just so recognizable compared to their own side of the IP.
