>anons for decades unanimously claim an obvious game idea would print money
>those games actually get made eventually
>they are hugely popular and print money
What are some other ideas in this obvious hits everyone knows genre? The ones I remember anons constantly bringing up are
>an actual Bethesda RPG competitor
>shooting game with anime girls
>shooting game with anime girls
this exists in china and japan. plenty of BRs with cute girls.
they do indeed print money
They are all low budget shovelware or gachashit.
yeah, imagine how good a high budget game would be in comparison and how much more money they could print
>gachashit
so they do print money
Buy and advertisment.
Jackie Chan
>an actual Bethesda RPG competitor
We already have that, it's Kingdom Come Deliverance.
it even came with all the bethesda style bugs.
Jesus Christ be praised! Henry's come to see us!
Don't play immersive RPGs if you can't handle a bug or two
>Kingdom Come Deliverance.
yes that world that takes 5 minutes to cross and with its single castle is certainly a rival
>5 minutes to cross and a single castle
You haven't played Kingdom Come Deliverance, just as a reminder I'm reinstalling Henry's game so I can praise the Lord.
so name the second castle ... take your time.
Show us that it takes 5 minutes to cross.
I'm at the beginning of the game and I've already seen two castles: Rattay and Skalitz.
Also there's zero chance it takes five minutes to cross the whole map with how long it takes to go just from the mill to Rattay.
try using a horse
Skyrim takes 30 seconds to cross the map using fast travel.
but do you see that mountain? you can climb it!
maybe the sequel will be larger?
not even a fantasy gamee
Fell for the realism meme. Not a competitor to TES the same way Mafia 1 wasn't a competitor to GTA3, different style of games
Are you genuinely moronic? It's not anything like a bethesda game at all.
Deliverance was too focused on the realism rather than be a fun frick around RPG with many choices of gameplay style.
It's a great achivment and the devs should be proud but when the best advice everyone can give ypu about the combat is
>Yeah, spend like 2-4 hours in the training area so your mind can finally adjust to the jank
That shit was never going to be a general audience darling.
the whole joy of bethesda games is walking around and doing random quests and dungeons
kingdom come barely has any of that
Reminder that pokemon with guns idea was in thousands ideas threads over the last couple decades.
Reminder that theres thousands anons that posted that idea and its variants that never got a cent of the millions that palword is raking in.
Same with LoL champion ideas from /lolg/ and everything else that anons gifted away for free, to be monetized by corporate drones that have 0 creative bones and 0 original ideas.
>You should be paid for ideas
I'm sure that benefits you, since an ideas guy is all you'll ever be.
The point is that anyone could've made the game, the idea was there for the taking for decades
>What are some other ideas in this obvious hits everyone knows genre?
hogwards school sim, with romance
Even the non-romance one is printing money
>Harry Potter Persona clone
>Summon different style demons in turn based combat
>Demons are organized via Houses as Arcanas
>Can enter different painters around the academy that serves as dungeons
>Can join clubs such as Quidditch, Herbalism
Warner Bros Y-YEAH BUT HOW DO WE MONETIZE IT
Me- Charge $70 and make BILLIONS
They'll make a Harry Potter looter shooter instead, book it
They DID make a harry potter shooter already.
Frick, it was bad.
guise i have the best zoomer money printer idea
fighting game but battle royale
so you get dropped off into this city map and you have to find and punch the shit out of everybody
when you run into somebody you can lock on and it plays like a tekken fight but without the moon gravity and you can also unlock and run away
and you can jump and do tricky parkour shit to lose a pursuer or lure them into an ambush
or do a tricky jump between buildings and when the pursuer fricks it up he falls to his death
and you can punch people off buildings and throw them into environmental hazards and shit like in yakuza
oh and you can also grab objects from the environment like baseball bats and chairs to beat people up with like in brawlers
there's already a melee br.
>fighting game but battle royale
that's naraka bladepoint and I think it's pretty successfull
>fighting game but battle royale
Its most popular fighting game out there already....
Palworld was popular for a week and died quickly. BG3's audience didn't abandon it that quickly.
Not everything is live service zoomzooms, the game sold 20 million copies
>BG3's audience didn't abandon it that quickly.
the game was longer. that's why
Both games made absolute fricktons of money.
Live service has really fried zoomers brains.
>and died quickly
Black person it is still in Steam's top 10 most played games. Holy frick you people are deluded. For that matter BG3 is also in Steam's top 10 most actively played games. You literally live in an alternate world you have imagined to cope with the fact that you are not part of the current cultural zeitgeist and your rage is completely impotent to change the popularity of games.
People still play palworld a bunch actually .
Grand Theft Auto : Medieval
I'd say GTA in the future too but Cyberpunk already stole that one
Rustler?
Grand Theft Cabbage
Diablouesque isometric view dungeon crawler. With anime girls. It's always anime girls. No not the korean doll face slop but waifus instead
> Palworld
didn't this game got forgotten in a week because of Helldivers?
More like lack of content. Around 30 it's a slog of repetitiveness and those who reach 50 got nothing to do
Updates are too slow.
There still hasn't been any content updates, only bugfixes and even those came out slowly.
So you play about 40-60 hours and you're done with all the content. Still a pretty decent number of hours, but it explains the dropoff in players, people are just finishing the game and moving on.
>literally number 9 on steam's activity chart
Do you guys just have some moronic definition of "dead" or something?
Pokemon fans are retared that is just nature, how else a 7/10 at best franchise be alive if not by caring to the mentally challenge without standars?
>Harry Potter
>20+ million sold
Right again
Ultima RPG reboot.
EA must be looking at the sales of BG3 and seeing that a reboot of a 17 year old game works.
zoomers didnt know what Baldurs Gate even was and Ultima is way more famous, especially in Japan
BG has always been the benchmark for RPGs, even to people who never play them.
If you've ever talked about one in your life, you'll have heard of it. It's like trying to avoid Chrono Trigger or FF6/7 when talking about JRPGs.
Ultima's sadly been forgotten in the west due to how utterly EA raped it
Why would I give up my $100 dollar idea?
The thread is about ideas everyone already knows
Good for you anon, don't let yourself be played by marketeers.
>fighting game with a bunch of characters from different IPs
i came up with this shit when i was like 7
mugen has existed for ages
I don't know what's the obvious idea behind Baldur's Gate.
Do you really think BG3 sold great because it's a well-made turn based crpg? Or is it because all the Bioware troons were starved for another triple A game where you get romance and homosexualry.
If BG3 was an action RPG a la witcher, it would've still sold well.
>Do you really think BG3 sold great because it's a well-made turn based crpg
Imagine BG3 but real time with asiaticlickers controls. Instant fail.
Black flag but a complete Pirate game with no ass creed stuff.
That's what Skull and Bones was supposed to be.
Ok, let's rephrase that, Black flag but a complete Pirate game with no ass creed stuff, but no downgrades to the pirate stuff, no live service crap, no pozzed shit and no trannies.
MMO with Souls-like combat and progression.
Twisted Metal/Vigilante but with anime girls like Genshin.
There's so many old games that needs remastering.
ACTION GAME
HOT
GIRLS
THAT'S IT
IT'S ALREADY WORKED
There's an entire thread right now about the death of the Korean MMORPG, which was considered one of the big staples of the gaming industry a few short years ago. They fear twitter more than they want money.
It's almost like consumers do, in fact, know what they want. Amazing.
Anyways:
>A zombie survival game with gameplay like the Division
>A racing game set in the early 00s with Fast and the Furious aesthetics and a car list going back to the mid-late 60s (can be Burnout esque amalgamations) with modernized customization and gameplay
>a 1980s Maimi Vice buddy cop action coop shooter with couch co-op
VN/story-heavy game or "rpg" like Disco Elysium but where your choices actually fricking matter and affect the story a lot and there are a million different possibilities and routes instead of like three routes that lead to similar/simple endings.
A million possibilities isn't a story, it's just random shit happening. A story can only come together satisfyingly in so many ways.
cope
moron
Who the frick ever claimed that BG sequel would print money? We've had a ton of cRPGs and they all sold poorly, including the sequels to Wasteland. The success of BG3 was only clear after early access build became popular
Realistic Star Trek immersive sim but you are assigned to the transporter room and that's the only job you do.
Breath of the Wild with some housing sim/life sim/multiplayer elements, like if you crossed it with a bit of Animal Crossing and Stardew Valley.
>I want to play Genshin but I'm too racist to admit it
Genshit is shit, unsurprisingly
it's actually great, only falls off after a hundred hours which at least to me is fine
Genshin impact then
>game about exploration! but with sedentary mechanics
How many times have I listened to this? It never works. There is only one way though.
DO YOU WANT A GAME ABOUT EXPLORATION BUT YOU HAVE BASE BUILDING MECHANICS? MAKE THE BASE MOBILE!
FANTASY GAME, BUT YOU ALSO PILOT AN AIRSHIP/FLYING CASTLE THAT HAS IT'S OWN COMMUNITY AND IS EVER-EXPANDING
SPACE GAME, BUT YOU ALSO PILOT A SPACESHIP/SPACE STATION THAT HAS IT'S OWN COMMUNITY AND IS EVER-EXPANDING
YOU CAN ALSO FIGHT OTHER BASES, AND DEPLOY SMALLER VEHICLES LIKE MECHS
FRICK YOU
You just described raft
Sims-style game made by a competent and non-greedy developer
You mean like The Sims? That game was great.
Yes, but improved upon.
Who ever said BG3 would print money? It's one of the most unexpectedly successful games I can think of
"Modern CRPG with a billion choices" has been a popular idea since forever, anon is literally pitching it again ITT
MOBA with a higher player count
It just makes too much sense to me, no more losing games because of one bad player, less pressure on each individual player. Most people I know who still enjoy this game just play turbo, want to play it casually, and do whatever they want.
Is there any reason this wouldn't work?
>Is there any reason this wouldn't work?
Even longer waiting times. That's like 80% of the reason I never got seriously into playing MOBAs.
A good arcade style racing game without microtransactions.
>make a good fricking game
>it prints money
I don't know why the industry stopped doing this shit tbh
A high quality porn game. Doesn't really matter what kind of genre it is as long as it's 3D, has a bunch of characters/bosses you can frick, and the sex scenes are interactive to some degree. I'd literally print money, but no one's got the balls to make it.
>shooting game with anime girls
>shooting game with anime girls
>shooting game with anime girls
>shooting game with anime girls
if an actually GOOD fps with anime girls released this would break all records. it would obliterate CS/Dota/Palworld.
it hasn't happened and it won't happen because Japan doesn't understand how to make a good FPS and westoids don't understand how to make attractive girls
BG3 is not popular.
game with anime girls
kys
Pokemon, but Monster Hunter, which did kind of get made with Monster Hunter Stories, but it still isn't enough.
I think Nintendo is sitting on a gold mine for a Super Smash Bros RPG, though now the games have gotten too many people, even if we remove the third parties. Character interaction, world traversal. It would take someone that cared about the lore of ALL the games, but it would be possible.
An actual pokemon rival. Not just a clone, not a survival game, but improved pokemon.
>more difficult
>better writing
>positioning matters
>full squad fighting
>competitive balancing
Think a DOS type pokemon game by larian with better writing.
OR
an autobattler game with pokemon
Baldur's Gate 3 defenders are the most dishonest people on Ganker.
palworld is at least its own thing, a mix of pokemon and ark
bg3 is just leeching over the most popular D&D ip to ever exist, while it ruins the already very established lore and shits on beloved characters with the most cringe fricking writing imaginable by men
>bg3 is just leeching over the most popular D&D ip to ever exist
Being a sequel that they spent years developing is "leeching off an IP"? How utterly moronic are you?
Being a sequel to a story that have a very closed ending over 20 years ago and multiple books about how the story is done?
Yes, it is leeching.
You don't know enough about this subject to be talking about it.
Your IQ is not impressive.
just posted in the starwars slop thread, but it would work for a few settings
>play as part time bartender/fixer
>get jobs from patrons
>jobs are hitman-style missions with multiple ways of doing things, but some less intuitive easier options
>serve other patrons to get hints about those less intuitive options
>have to balance time limits of jobs with info-gathering
>have to avoid reputation for using bar clients as info sources
>frick with competing bars and stop their attempts to frick with your employer
A single player Warcraft game
I am still playing Baldur's Gate 3. Don't really care what this thread is about. I just know homosexuals be seething at BG3 non stop.
It is a great game, but it has both too much side-story content if you try to do everything in act 3 which makes the story bog down (which I think is most players instinct), plus not enough combat content to really be a pleasing dungeon crawl.
If Larian does some more modules, adds some more companions, classes, and sub-classes, and ups the level cap (even if classes stay capped at 12), and maybe soft-gates some content a bit better to rail road players a bit more, and a mega dungeon players can hop into if they just feel like running combat, it could really easily be the definitive D&D computer game.
Even in its current state, it will probably going to be a game a lot of people go back to periodically.
bump
every troony and lefty on earth bought troony's gate 3, that's the only reason why it succeeded. usually, they don't support each other that enthusiastically.
I am white, straight and European. I hate troons and the American radical left. I also bought Baldur's Gate 3. It is a great game in spite of having homosexuals and lesbians in it. If it didn't have any gays it would be THE PERFECT RPG GAME.
game with anime girls
Blue Archive? Nikke?
Those are gacha pig farms, not video games.
and? they are ridiculously successful money printers
Why would that matter to me, a person who actually plays video games and not gambling simulators?
game with anime girls
that's blue archive
Hack and slash RPG with custom MC and Dragon Age-level character interactions
Animal Crossing x Pokemon crossover
Villagers are Pokemons, make it a DLC if you don't want to cannibalize sales.
20m copies sold minimum. I'm not even a pokemon fan, make it a Switch II launch title and it will sell over 50m.
The only reason it does not exist is because of Gamefreak's shitty Midas touch.
The Sims but Star Trek
I could see that being really popular. Like FTL, but with the ability to focus on the characters if you want, and more of a sandbox feeling.
I'm thinking you have it set up to mimic the feel of Star Trek episodes, where you get assigned a mission and then crazy things happen like a disease outbreak or boarding parties or crew falling in love. You need to set up rooms on your ship and choose your bridge crew and then have away missions.
I could see that working out really well. Gameplay split up into 'episodes', maybe give players a choice of how to progress.
>Do you want to send your chief engineer and a small group to attend a conference on Risa?
>Transport a dignitary who turns out to be your Betazed crewmember's horny mom?
>Put the ship in for upgrades on Deep Space 3 and so the captain can attend a cooking competition?
Wouldn't even need the Star Trek license, but then it would need some other way to stand out.
Over-arching mission where your space sims characters collect cute animals who also provide your ship with abilities?
A Rumiko Takahashi style 3D grand adventure anime game series, built around a character relationship system, and with a fun combat system that captures right right feel, that looks like a good anime adaptation.
Basically like Dragon Quest or the DBZ adventure / fighting games that re-tell the series.
>What are some other ideas in this obvious hits everyone knows genre? The ones I remember anons constantly bringing up are
Nice try Bobby but you're not getting my game idea
>anime girl xcom
>ai 3d dating sim
>monster collector turn-based tactics
>tight, constrained soulslike with real story
>roguelike deckbuilder with UGC farm/live service
>medieval fantasy sim + driver san francisco for NPCs, ai gen stories
>SotC clone
>school sim with code geass power, all npcs deep routines etc (yandere sim but good)
off the top of my head
>A Sid Meier's Pirates remake with Ass Creed Black Flag's ship battles.
>Tree of Savior but make it an actual successor to Ragnarok instead of whatever the frick they tried to do.
>GunZ but battle royale
Just remake S4 League goddamnit
Jokes aside, a proper roguelike musou with satisfying melee attacks, cool combos and a strong focus on the power fantasy factor would shit all over Vampire Survivors
Make the ESF mod a standalone game with modern graphics.
Arcade Racing with actually decent tuning and customization options where I can turn a piece of shit car into a monster and change EVERY part
>shooting game with anime girls
Splatoon. It has the benefit of not having to hear actual women.
