It’s essentially a completely separate mode from the regular game. Gear and characters you take in don’t matter, as everyone starts at level 1 and have to obtain skills for use in the maze. The gear you obtain have stats comparable to most late-game equipment

spinal weapons are great, moonshade weapons are solid for AF comps
glimmer armor is great if you can't guarantee being max hp or below 50-80%
the level 1 Medicinal Fist and either Feather or Solid Necklace can all come with Restore Effect Up which allows a certain Free character heal your entire party for 100% of their health every turn from the back row.
Also to note, you save one skill you get per run (just register it to the node in the boss room). This will let you start the next run with that skill. Just make sure to re-register it on every run. The idea is that you level up and max out a gold skill so that you can rush through the early stages much faster.
Just finished undiscovered Babylon.. I thought no scenario could go over IDA 2 for peak Anaden story but I guess I have a good contender now. Even though plenty of things are still unanswered and still a lot of stuff to wrap my head around regarding that accursed isle, it still somehow managed to give a satisfying ending imo. (breaking through long term trauma is extremely difficult)
Pretty heavy and deep stuff though. That 'plant' scene is probably the most disturbing scene that I've ever experience in Anaden so thats pretty fun. Glad that they pushed a bit beyond regarding sensitive topics on this one. The bgm is great too.
Also Mariel's banner is my worst pulls in a while so that's something..
Who is more useful between Shion Alter and AS Yipha?
That depends entirely on what you're fighting and what your other units are.
If your best units are all resisted by the boss, Shion can swap that to everyone hitting weaknesses for a massive damage multiplier.
If you're only using 1 damage unit and everyone else is a support, Yipha's single target Faith and massive Bua buff might make for example Azami AS hit harder on a resist than if Shion swapped the resist to a weakness.
If you're only missing Shion and Yipha and are deciding between SDEing one or the other: Shion's weakness swap isn't available through any other means, whereas Nona AS will be able to replicate Yipha's kit in a month or 2. She won't be as good at it, but she'll at least be an alternative, and one who can actually do something during an AF.
If you have both of their NS, and have to decide which one gets your last 5 Chants, it depends on who all you have but in general I'd sidegrade Yipha over Shion.

It depends on the situation. AS Yipha provides party-wide buffs to damage or defense, and those buffs become much stronger on one party member if she’s used Faith on them beforehand. Alter Shion basically superbosses into a joke, since his main gimmick lets him switch resistances and weaknesses. Just as an example:

Notice how the Ice Jailer normally only has a weakness to wind while resisting earth, fire, water, and pierce. You would have far more offensive options available to you just from one use of Paper Tiger than if you try to utilize its normal weakness, especially if you happen to be lacking in strong wind units. Bonus points for Alter Shion himself benefiting in this particular instance as a fire mage.
AS Yipha by a significant margin. Her mechanic lets you supercharge a character for the entire fight and boost their DPS to insane levels. Alt Shion is good but has a bunch of limitations to use.

They'll probably bundle the Lashval Event (which released with Iphi) into AS Dewey's release. Then two weeks later we'll get Yakumo and Part 6.
They're totally holding back for the valkrie profile event that I am not coping about not happening
They're following JP's schedule. We've known for months that after Apocrypha 5 we'd get Hozuki Alter, then Dewey AS, then something would get bumped up because we got Iphi first. Since it doesn't look like the Lashval event is part of Dewey's update, they're either going to move Alter Shannon up or we're going to have a really big update for Yakumo, with both Apocrypha 6 and Lashval to do.
Then June is likely going to be another dead month, and July will be big.
They'll move it until after Part 6 to give them some more time to translate the finale.

You can get that by just running Lightspark, I have two at +10 and two at +7 right now, without running anything else. Phase shifts give you everything you'll need.

I run Gariyu for the Tree since the Smogust is weak to fire.
For the Spark Forge: You're entirely at the mercy of Miss RNG in the phase shift. Once Alter Ilulu comes out, he'll be able to oneshot all the trash mobs, but you'll probably need a 2nd dps for the boss, since even Minalca had a hard time squeezing out enough to oneshot him. (unless he resists Slash not Fire?)
For the Tree: Flamme+Gariyu could work, but Gariyu by himself cannot since some mobs drain Fire and some drain Water. A 120 light Cynthia AS SHOULD be able to oneshot the entire tree herself if my theorycraft is correct, otherwise you absolutely need 2+ units.
Shore Runner gives all 3, once you have all the silver gear trades buy tickets and run Shore Runner for higher chant odds and no miss rng.
I swap between all 3 routes. Once I get a phase shift for one, I move on to the next. I've got a team that can just one shot everything so it doesn't matter which route I take.

Well this is a nasty bug. It sounds like it started with Tsukiha Alter's chapter. I'm glad I switched back to Toto Theatre for farming Nona's shadow after upgrading defenses and getting all the gear to +10, but hopefully the people who have been grinding Nona's shadow in her personal AD get the appropriate compensation
Huh. Now that I think about it, I don't think I ever got any shadow for Nona in the 4th and 5th parts.
My bet is 10 bow shadow items and 20 green/red tickets for all.
I could see key compensation, but shadow items seem a little far fetched to me.
It's cool that they owned up to. It's the kind of thing people would have just written off as bad RNG. They could have quietly fixed it without telling anyone or compensating anything.

Yeah. Nobody knew until the producer just dropped it in the middle of a radio interview. "Oh and like, no player can get more than three 5*'s on a single pull. If someone gets a 4th it'll reroll to a 4*." They ended up giving out something like 15k free chrono stones and a free SDE to all of the players. They got a lot of flack and a bunch of people dropped the game because of that shady shit. Fortunately it seems like the game has mostly recovered, and they released the GL version shortly after.

People knew there was something fishy, just didn't know how they rigged it. The whole story was:
1) New guaranteed 5* paid banner came out, but it was glitched. For a few minutes, players who pulled it got their all ten rolls either 5* or 4.5*.
2) Some players only got nine 5* or 4.5*, and their 10th roll, which should always be a 5*, was a 4*. Pic related.
3) The next day, Devs said the server went into overdrive, so 3* or 4* didn't appeared. However, they wouldn't roll back since there were no proper backup.
4) Players argued that it didn't explain why 2) happened.
5) A few days later, the game went into emergency maintenance, and devs admitted there were two limitations. One was what you mentioned, but it obviously didn't work when the server was in overdrive. The other one was when the fourth of the same characters would get rerolled and it seemed to be the reason of 2).

Throughout my grind in the Isle of Gospel AD I think I only ever managed 1 or 2 shadow for Nona, but I figured it was just really bad luck. I stop farming the Vortex once I get all the fragment rewards, upgrading the defenses isn’t really a priority for me.

You really don't need any of it. I've killed all the hard mode bosses and haven't upgraded a single defense structure.

Try to get the Elpis weapons. You can get a couple relatively easily, but most will require you to do bounty hunting. The Omegapolis AD also has an Elpis armor set you can get.

You're honestly better off with an emulator. The steam version doesn't have adds so you lose out on a lot of chrono stones, red keys and green keys every month (on average about 600 chrono stones, 30 red keys and 30 green keys). The steam version is also a bit more laggy than the phone or emulated version. The only issue is that updates don't play nice with emulators so you'll need to grab the apk file from apkpure or somewhere similar.

Scaling power with basic attacks is annoying, but doing it in a T1AF with Flash Zone actually makes it alright. And the -80% physical resist, -80% fire resist, and +80% fire power help with this shithead boss's buffs.

The wiki has a tier list and roadmap that can guide you.
99% of the game is easy and can be cleared by the free characters you'll get.
The 1% are superboss that can be cleared by free units too but requires some grind and strats.
Use Feinne's Sandwich. You can always get more food at inns.
Use buffs and debuffs. If the enemy is still hitting hard, use more.
It will be in your best interest to raise the main story characters, especially Aldo and Amy.
Reaching chapter 13 gives you a frickton of things to do, particularly the collab stuff which can give you very strong, and very useful, characters.
Don't spend your stones willy nilly. If you have one form of a character, such as Mariel (Another Style), you can eventually unlock alternate forms through the daily dungeon runs that you'll unlock.
Ciel is the best, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
You can beat every fight in the game, even the superbosses with just the free characters. Some of them will require a lot of Light/Shadow grinding and a lot of system knowledge, but there are players who've posted clears of everything in the game without ever pulling on the gacha beyond the first mandatory pull. So don't feel too pressured by the gacha.
At Chapter 13 you can unlock the collab events. There are a lot of extremely strong free characters you can get from there. The Chrono Cross collab is especially good - all 4 characters (Kid, Harle and especially Serge and Starky) are fantastic. Starky is the only free tank in the game. Serge is capable of changing his elemental type to anything, which makes him a great character for dealing with gimmicky superbosses.
Don't worry about builds for characters, it's usually very straight forward. Characters have 3 skill slots (and can unlock a 4th one) and most characters only have 2 or 3 good skills anyway. Gear is also usually pretty obvious - give characters the strongest weapon and armor that you can. When you reach the Part 2 story you unlock the grasta system which is going to be pretty important.
Finally everything in the game is permanent (with the exception of the Chrono Cross collab, it expires in December 2026 so you have 3 and a half years to do it). So don't feel too pressured or stressed about clearing stuff. Go at your own pace.
Don't use Light/Shadow items on free characters.
When you do your monthly trials, do not use the Light/Shadow reward on free characters.
Since characters gain catchup experience it's a good idea to use all of your Exp Scrolls on 1 character, typically either your best damage unit or Aldo since he's hard required for some content, to make everyone else gain boosted exp.
Ciel is definitively NOT the best, and among characters with 5* potential is the second worst.
Miyu has an ES unlike Ciel, and her ES is extremely powerful. Miyu's AS is arguably more meta than Ciel's AS.
May is a much stronger unit than Ciel, and her 5* upgrade is much easier to obtain than his AS.
Sevyn is an amazing character, although his upgrade is gated the hardest.
Bivette is the only viable option who is worse than Ciel.
Benedict's 5* is coming up in JP and he'll likely be better than Ciel as well.
If we include AS-only in the comparison, Akane, Foran, Lele, and Otoha are better while Nike is worse.
Prai from the Holy Spirit Prayer is technically also a free tank.
Harle being able to nullify any magic and/or elemental damage is also worth mentioning.
Does attack or intelligence increase how much damage you do with Pain/Poison or do those always do the same amount of damage?
I think Pain scales with attack, and Poison with Intelligence, but the difference is pretty minuscule. Some characters have special modifiers that increase the damage that Pain/Poison do, though I can't remember which ones.

99.99999% yes.
SDEs in Global typically go up to the current active banner, with a few exceptions where they were copied exactly from JP's version. However JP's next SDE includes everyone up to Sesta, which means GL would have to: a) not do its typical "up to current banner SDE"; and b) also deviate from JP's SDE for Yakumo not to be on it.

Give everyone the 3-Mushroom Drinko, but don't use any Drinkos if your Hotel Worker's motivation is Terrible since it will only get them up to 9 and you need them at 10 for the Chant, so you'll have to buy and use another 8 Drinkos.
How do you change the temps base motivation? It never seems to change for me. For instance, Dust always seems to have terrible motivation.

Very high DPS but depending on how far you are in the game you'll likely have higher. According to the western tier list she's S+ for both Fire and Pierce, but high tier support is always more important than high tier DPS.
Once she's fully set up, repeating her 2 skills nets her an average of ~2500% which is slightly lower than Flammelapis spamming Neptune but doesn't stun her after turn 3.
If you use her without any other Pierce characters, she sets up her own Break that lasts long enough for Vermillion Spear to (effectively) be nearly 10000%, for an average of 5000%.
She's pretty basic, but it can be a little tricky weaving her skills in AF if your party doesn't work well with her.
Hozuki does 1 3 4 2 3 4 and then just repeat 3 4 3 4...
where 1 is Basic Attack, 2 is Tsukimizaki which is a solid AF buff, and 3 4 are Cloak Spear. Some characters are fine going back and forth between 2 of their moves, so AF would look something like 1144 3333 4444 2222 3333 4444 then repeat 33334444. The other "1" is assuming someone's activating lunatic, otherwise the entire party just syncs up swapping between the 3rd and 4th skill while throwing in whatever one-use-buff/debuff is on their 2.

I'm still working on getting Azami to 200 Light for that 4th grasa. But I find that AS Yipha + AS Azami + Iphi + AS Soira can basically destroy any fight.
Can the combo handle the Lashval quest superboss? Running with a Thunder team and even Miyu with two uses of her Lunatic couldn't kill the fricking thing.
Haven't fought it myself yet (sitting on that and Deus Cras sextreme), but it should work once you apply Shade via Iphi.

for having played another eden for a year and a half, it's pretty striking just how little i understand of this game. i haven't bothered with grastas aside from slapping a few poison/pain grastas on my primary dps. i rarely use another force. and most of the new characters kits suffer from serious mechanical bloat to the point of me not even understanding how they work.
this was fine and well for the most part, but now im at the point where im pushing the upper limits of available content and im really struggling to come to terms with how it all works. the game really wasn't build for a lot of these mechanics, imo. this is often what happens with a lot of gachas, but here, it just feels so opaque and obtuse. i think its predominately the user experience that gets in the way.
what are some of the easier superbosses worth challenging to help me ease into properly learning these mechanical nuances? and guides worth reading?
fot context: i have no idea whats going on with nidhogg. hp stoppers are really annoying. i got him down to 1/4 of his bar no problem then he gets this gauge.on him? its got numbers and its colored. i have no idea what they represent. i obviously need to bring iphi for barrier pierce or bring a lightning team and af burst him down but i just feel like a savant because ive made it this far and yet the finer points completely elude me.
The skill gauges are pretty unintuitive, I think they're only on like 5 bosses total.
Basically if they reach 0 without you doing enough damage to break them, the boss does a really powerful move. If you break the skill gauge before time runs out, they instead use a weaker move or sometimes do nothing on that turn.
Nidhogg sets up multiple stacks of barriers, multiple times throughout the fight. Iphi giving pierce is pretty inefficient, since her pierce relies on her killing and reviving an ally, which means you're going to have to reset blood contract on everyone, which means setting up Shade zone against the Shade spamming boss. Instead, multihit moves which break 3+ layers of barrier per use are better at dealing with him.
Thunder teams are also ill-advised, as the boss has a counterattack which it gains a stacking buff to PWR/INT/SPD every time it gets hit by a Thunder attack.
just cleared nidhogg without any problems using a water team and it seems he was giving me the business beforehand because i was thunder attacks (boss has a mechanic where he retaliates and becomes harder when you attack his weakness...). i was seemingly able to bypass most of the unique mechanics just through brute force—which is how ive been able to handle all of the other bosses tbh.
whenever im not able to do that, though, it always feels awful.
if you used a Thunder team and won you'd have been brute forcing him his unique mechanic is "Hey frickface don't use Thunder on me or I'll get stronger"

Undiscovered Babylon is the best story in Another Eden thus far. It dared to push characters outside of safe and comfortable tropes. It was extremely macabre, and at times contrived, but it all fell together rather nicely when all was said and done. A real nice change of pace from the banal af writing that plagues 99% of this game when its constantly playing it safe. It also cements Mariel as one of my favorite characters across the roster. Shes's such a saint.

I liked the dialogue between Marie and Mariel when trying to prevent the children from mutating into a monster again. Shame its ending right when they're starting to get comfortable with subverting some of the usual shit that goes on in the time loops. I enjoy it way more then the main story.

How do you use alma
She seems complicated but she's pretty straight forward. Use Brain Record to put a Scope on the enemy and turn her Type to the enemy weakness. Then you'll either use Crystal Fragor to hit the enemy Weakness, or use Aether Alchemia if the enemy has Barriers and she's in Trance State. Activate her Lunatic if you want to quickly enter Trance State. If you have a 4th skill slot, then set it to Elixer Ray.

She's really good since you can guarantee weakness, and being able to bypass Barriers is godly for some superboss fights. Effectively having infinite Lunatic uses means that she's also good on long duration fights. Hope you enjoy her!

You could also use ES Mariel or Iphi, both of whom can apply Lunatic effects. When ES Tuba comes out, she'll be able to do the same.
Iphi or ES Mariel are your best choices. AS Milsha is good for that if you don't have the other two.

There are currently no characters who can grant Copy to other party members. Best you'll do is getting a +1 charge of it by having Orleya on the front line.
That plus Benefic grasta will give Eva a max of 15 turns of Copy per fight.

Well, shit. Any recommendations? I'm at 2/3 for Suzette Alt, and 2/5 for both Miyu ES and Yipha AS.
Yipha by a significant margin. She can slot into any team, especially if you are a Petalfall chad. Alt Suz is only alright and Miyu ES can do moron big numbers but requires an entire team based around combo % (which is the second most baller strategy after Petalfall).
Rule is always go for Opus.
They're only available in red keys while Treatises and Codex are in both red and green.
None of the opus characters are actually that great though, except Alt Shion.
Alt Tsukiha and Alt Hismena are both pretty great.
More so Hismena than Tsukiha. Alt Tsukiha is fun but is really more of a "do you have Alt Dewey/AS Necoco" check.
AS Azami could step on you harder with less investment.

Are you talking about weapon manifests? There are two kinds. Normal Manifests make specific skills strong when equipped, True Manifests (of which there aren't many) make the skills stronger once obtained (even if they aren't equipped) but also provide greater stat boosts if equipped.

Once you've beaten the True manifest boss fight, the skills are upgraded regardless of what weapon you use. The True Manifests themselves are just stat sticks.

We got israeliteed pretty hard on this one. Japan got 2000 free gems (1000 as a gift and 1000 from starting the episode) plus 4000 extra stones from dailies (an extra 50/day). We got 1000 from the episode and 1200 from dailies. Very unusual, can't recall them screwing us over this hard before.
Japan only has one ads each day which give 10 gems.
Japan also got their whispers with Sesta's update so people had a chance of getting her from them. We got completely fricked over

You need 4 Wind type characters in front for that to happen and awakened Wind zone will be gone in a few turns unlike normal Wind zone so she isn't that good for longer battles or enemies which remove zone on HP stoppers

Honestly any tank + Iphi makes your team basically immortal. I run Iphi + AS Soira and cleared every superboss and it makes most every fight a joke. Most fights I take AS Lele as my primary damage dealer, and I'm looking forward to running ES Toova + Kumos. That will keep AS Lele at 100% MP every turn so I'll never need to worry about reactivating Miracle Form.
I think Isuka ES would be fine as well. If you run with Claude instead of a tank you'd need to find a way to keep the boss damage from being able to kill your non-tank characters. Sure Iphi can rez them, but it can be a problem if the boss targets the same character and kills someone after their auto-rez has fallen off.
Dang, so many options. I don't have Soira AS, Lele AS, or Yipha AS so depending on how my rolls go for Toova I might have the SDE open to get one of them if my Isuka ES or Radias AS fall short. Thanks bros.
You don't need Lele AS. I just use her as my main damage dealer because she hits like a truck. But there are lots of other damage dealers. Don't pick Lele or Soira with your SDE since they're 4*s so you can just get tomes to sidegrade them.

Got Toova AS, 4.5 Sesta, and ironically Yipha AS in 5K stones. Still have the SDE left over too. Currently farming levels/testing team comps while listening to the thunderstorm outside. Today was a good day.
use Soira AS; 100% crit rate, max out luck, she only takes 25% damage from ST hits and takes 50% from soaking AoEs. She autorages for 6 turns at the start of battle so Iphi doesn't get hit with stray ST hits

Who is a better SDE pick? Sesta or Yakumo? Kumos would be a plus but Sesta seems all powerful too.
They're about equal. Both are selfish damage dealers, though they functionally work entirely differently. Yakumo's damage is insane, but you have to juggle his HP/MP mechanic, which is a bit of a pain but hardly a huge problem. Sesta works better with a full Wind team, which can limit you as far as team building can go, but she's also really strong even without other Wind characters.

I'm kinda leaning towards Radias AS or Alma I think. IDK if there's better options than those two.

Alma >= Minalca > Hismena Alter >= Yakumo and then everyone else is tiers lower.
Minalca just annihilates bosses and makes nearly every AD run a single action: Damnation. She also comes with Tetra who is a super useful Sidekick.
Yakumo's reasoning is similar to Minalca's, but Kumos is slightly more niche than Tetra.
Hismena Alter is a weapon flexible DPS who also has strong buffs.
Once someone other than Alma gets Crystal Zone I think I'd put Minalca >= Alma rather than the other way around.
There really isn't anyone who compares to Alma's flat DPS though.
Alma's damage is conditional on a lot of things.
First being in Trance which requires a turn of setup that can't be accomplished during a T1AF.
Next the enemy has to have at least A weakness, which many superbosses don't have. This can extend to having at least A resistance if using Alma+Shion Alter, which does extend the list of bosses she can cover but there are some that she won't be able to.
For bosses with multiple targets, she has to stack Scopes individually to maximize AoE damage, and it's unlikely that she'll be able to match weaknesses with all of them at once.
Her modifiers all hover around the 3000% mark raw, which is solid. Being a bow user means her weapons will have 20-40 fewer ATK than other DPS weapons.
Comparing Alma to Minalca's 6400% Damnatio, which is only reliant on Pain (something you're setting anyways to activate P/P grasta, and can be done at the start of battle with a character like Tsukiha ES) and party HP (have 1 character with 10k HP, or 2 with 7k each) Minalca can immediately nuke enemies that Alma needs to set up on to get similar results -- and Minalca comes with Fire Break.
And that's not even using Minalca's stronger, barrier piercing attack Rip and Tear, which reapplies Fire Break and hits 8040% as long as the enemy has more than 50% HP, and is still a solid 4020% (compared to Aether Alchemia's 2850% barrier pierce) below 50%.
And of course Tetra is one of the best supports in the game and you don't even need to use a character slot to benefit from her. Buff max HP, restore HP, cleanse status, automatically every single turn and you can use gear to manipulate whether she acts earlier or later in the turn.
Full party revive and hold ground as a Charge, which you use in between turns so you can revive and then immediately swap in from the back row.
Alma IS likely the flattest DPS character though.
Alma is pure sex.

Suzette,Sveyn,Cynthia AS,Sesta in battle mode are able to frickin bring down 2 entire lifebars on their own even with Sesta in guest mode. Crazy damage team in just 2 turns with no buffs

Hey. Sorry for the late reply. But here's my current roster and 5 Star characters I have so far and who I do not have. I did say I was going to get Yakumo, but just last night I already got him (complete 5 star) when I decided to pull for him in the non-paid banners.
So... Anyone I should get for my Star Dream Encounter? Indeed from what I've read in previous posts it would be recommended to get Jet Black Shion. Others suggest Flamelappis, but which one, her normal style or her Another Style?
Also, don't bother telling me to do the collabs to get "free 5 stars" and muh iconic characters from this and that franchise. I already wasted my time on the first Tales of Collab and I only played the Chrono Cross collab since that was the very thing that inspired and help make Another Eden. But I'm never going to do the Persona and other Tales of Collab, not like I play or am going to play any Persona games or any Tales of Games. I'm not even going to play ANY future collab in the future, even if it is a franchise or IP I actually like or care about and would not matter if I even get free 5 stars and chrono stones out of it. The collab characters are just going to be an eyesore to look at as they don't belong in the setting at all, is immersion breaking, the stories are just cheap marketing to get players to hopefully buy and play collab product. And no doubt the free 5 star characters are already irrelevant and worthless now that there're much stronger and viable characters already. So no, don't suggest I do the other collabs or any future collab.

I would use your SDE on AS Flammelapis. It looks like you already have NS Shion so you could unlock Alter Shion once you get 3 of his Codexes. And then sidegrading AS Flammelapis to her NS form would be much easier than trying to sidegrade her from NS to AS.
I won't say anything about collabs, since you're already aware that you're missing out on a ton of easy to get chrono stones. And the Chrono Cross characters are the strongest collab characters anyway. That said, you should see about unlocking Azami and getting her AS form. Her AS hits stupidly hard, it's very useful for several superboss fights, and you'll be able to use her for some broken Wind team builds once we get AS Melody.
I've seen some talk about AS Melody what makes her good?
AS Melody has top tier buffs (+100% weapon damage, +1 weakness multiplier, 50% Party Barrier, 3 turn auto physical and magic crit) and debuffs (-50% power/int/speed, 100% Wind Resistance down) and her attack has a 3000x mod, the same that Flammelapis has, so her damage is very strong. Her big trick though is that if you have 4 Wind units on the field, then every 3 turns she automatically set an Awakened Wind Zone and can do that an unlimited number of times during the fight. Things can get really crazy if you have Sesta, since Sesta will be able to use her insane upgraded normal attack almost every turn, which can be boosted even higher if you're buffing her with AS Yipha. If you don't have Sesta though, you can use AS Azami instead, and then just take a tank like AS Soira for your 4th.
NTA. But what about Sesta? I'm also gonna pay for the current Star Dream banner. Sesta looks hype to me, can she be pulled for?
Sesta is extremely strong.
She also currently is rate up on her own banner, so it's hard to recommend using an SDE on her at the moment since you should be able to do 2+ ten pulls for her before the banners expire.
If you save your initial SDE pull until August and then wait until it's about to expire in September and still don't have Sesta from her banner then she'll jump up in my recommended list.
Sesta is really strong and basically has the highest damage attack in the game. But she requires very specific team builds which can make her difficult for players with smaller rosters to use. Basically if she's in an Awakened Wind Zone, at the beginning of the turn she gets a buff that changes her normal attack. Her new attack basically just lets her use all of her skills which includes powerful buffs and debuffs. The trick is, if she starts the turn and there are 3 other Wind units in the front line, she'll set Wind Zone and (the first time she does this) she'll Also Awaken the Wind Zone. If you start with 4 Wind characters then she'll auto set the Wind Zone and Awaken it first turn and you can use her stupid strong auto attack.
But, it's tricky to find 4 Wind characters to use with her. There are some great gacha options available (AS Soira, AS Heena, Garam, AS Yipha, AS Cynthia, AS Mistrare and many others) but there's not very many great free Wind characters. There's AS Azami, Noahxis, Yuri, Curio, Morgana and Amy and that's it. If you don't have any of the better gacha options then I think Sesta will feel pretty underwhelming. If you do have good gacha Wind characters then she's going to feel pretty powerful. And if you end up getting AS Melody, Sesta is going to be stupidly powerful since there's a tricky where AS Melody can set an Awakened Wind Zone every single turn, so you can just let Sesta pump out rediculous damage.
I'd agree with
and recommend pulling for her in the gacha rather than picking her with the SDE, especially if you don't already have strong Wind gacha options. If you plan to get AS Melody though, then you'll definitely want Sesta because the two of them basically form the most powerful combo in the game.
There's also Sevyn as a free-adjacent character.
Sevyn pairs up REALLY well with her
You have base Shion so I wouldn't recommend Jet Tactician Shion; that's spending an entire SDE to replicate 5 Chant Scripts and 3 Opera, which is a lot less valuable than an entire new character that you can't create with some AD farming.

I would NOT recommend Zeviro, Ilulu, or Melody. Zeviro because he's not that great, and Ilulu and Melody because they're both not that great and are going to be on rate up banners soon with new styles.
Lovely is... eh. Her AS is a solid tank who can do decent AF damage, but because of how her kit works she's a bit more niche than Prai.
That leaves Alma, Necoco, Sesta, Orleya, and Flammelapis.
I would rank them Alma > Necoco > Sesta > Orleya > Flammelapis.
Always pick ES or AS of a character if possible, since farming 1 Tome is much easier than lucking your way into 3 treatises and then buying the remaining 2.
Iphi is currently the best character out, due to her unique auto-revive mechanic.
If you have Iphi, Yipha AS is probably the second most unique character (less so now that Nona AS exists) in that she can boost a character's stats by half of her Spr stat (so if she has 200 Spr, the boosted character gets 100+ everything but HP and MP). As this is a numerical boost to base stats, not a buff, it ends up producing ridiculously big numbers when properly used.
If you have both of those or really want a DPS, Alma, Yakumo, Eva, Minalca or Alt Hismena are your best bets. I haven't gotten Sesta but I've seen she can do stupid large numbers if properly set up.
Flammlapis is really good but her NS is best for mob clearance and her AS is a magic support unit, which others exist.
I would insert Alter Shion between Iphi and Yipha, and then insert either Nekoko AS or Alter Dewey between Alter Shion and Yipha.
Alter Shion has the unique weakness swap, which opens a ton of additional team viabilities for a lot of bosses.
Alter Dewey and Nekoko AS both offer an explosive damage buff when used in an elemental zone, with Dewey being able to awaken zone and also work as a DPS while Nekoko makes your entire party match the element and trades damage for even better support.
AS Necoco can also awaken Zone.
And now I save up for Amelia Watson from Hoe-girlve English.

For similar reasons as
Alma sole Crystal setter and a really strong unit on her own, Minalca is a nuke and comes with the best sidekick, Yakumo also a nuke and comes with a really strong sidekick, and Necoco basically lets all of your best DPS work in any elemental zone with one another.
I think I'll just pick Minalca since I really want Tetra too. Thanks anon.

I don't understand the age rating for this game. You've got weird things like Nona being afraid to "defeat" the queen, but then NPCs will say stuff like "damn" and "bastard".
Nona is a good girl and has never referred to killing or hurting anyone in any other Apocrypha Chapter. She doesn't want to kill or hurt anyone, so she always uses euphemisms like "stopping" or "defeating" them, as a way to psychologically distance herself from what she's actually doing.
My guess is also the Devs trying to keep their rating as T for Teens as much as possible without having to give themselves an M Rating. Much later stories and chapters of the game already has characters swearing and say bad words, but only in appropriate occasions and scenarios. Along with already dealing with otherwise mature and adult topics like death, war, crimes and even child abandonment and abuse. But them having Nona not explicitly say the word "kill" is again, their way of trying to be rated T and not go to rated M.
Lots of characters have said word kill or threatened to kill people and it hasn't changed the rating. There are tons of other gachas in the market that have people talking about killing, along with animations of people being killed (and even blood) and those games still have their Teen rating. I think it's pretty clear that Nona refusing to say the word kill and instead using euphemisms is just a quirk of her personality rather than anything to do with the game's rating.

Okay I will admit. It must have been way too long ago since I remember violence, death and other mature topics were outrigght stated and talked about in the whole game. Especially from previous chapters and storylines from years ago. But I guess we can all say Another Eden is safely a rate T for Teens, for swear-bad words and some depictions of violence here and there. It also helps Another Eden's story and cutscenes are simple in-game scenes where character actions are often recycled and repurposed stock animations and there is no explicit showing of blood, gore or general violence other from sounds and dialogue. So Another Eden wouldn't be getting any M Ratings unless there are full blown animated cutscenes showing the glorious violence and everyone including Nona start saying F-Words profusely.

Are there use cases at all for Biaka AS or Alt Suzette nowadays?
Biaka AS is great for slow killing turtle strategies if you can run an immortal team. I've killed a lot of bosses using Iphi + AS Soira to keep the team alive, and then slowly killing the boss with AS Biaka's poison. AS Biaka's damage effectively bypasses damage immunity, null, etc, so you can use it on any boss you might have trouble building a team for. Of course it'll take awhile, sometimes 50+ turns to beat the boss, but it's pretty safe.
Alter Suzette is okay. If you need another Wind character for Sesta she's a good choice. Nothing too amazing though.

judging by what I got from recent banners, I think I can build a team around Iphi and Yakumo, any suggestions of what kind of characters should I add to this team?
A tank, to keep Iphi safe from single target attacks and soak up the big AoE hits.
Soira AS is really strong here, with her guaranteed rage and Critical Guard softening the blow that comes from condensed AoE.
Starky and Prai are also solid options.
Then either Yipha AS or Nona AS, to supercharge Yakumo and let him nuke everything. Toova ES is another option, who can contribute damage herself and restore Yakumo's MP with her Prayer.
And Uquaji in the backrow built to maximize healing (lv 1 fist+necklace from Timetwisted Maze both with Restore Skill Effect+, 2x Grasta with Restore Skill Effect +20%, 1 Grasta with either Bull's Eye or Rose-with-Thorns, and then the badge with the other one that's not on the Grasta)

0-1 SUP, 0-1 TEC.
0 DEF, 0 MAG.
Don't double up on ATK weapon types.
Prey III or All Out III is what you want to look for on your main ATK unit, and then just load them up with as much damage as you can (crit damage, damage+ but mp cost+, etc)
your SUP if you have one ideally uses the skill that gives your party crits
your TEC if you have one ideally uses the skill that buffs your party's STR
only use Waning Orbs on bosses

I agree about the waning orb stuff also. Once you start to get more items it snowballs and goes faster.
For the time investment, the equipment you get from the roguelike outclasses the majority of sets you'd have to grind for, otherwise. Even low level armors have good perks attached and the gold/platinum weapons/armors are late late late endgame tier.
this. I've shat on the new content using timetwisted stuff as filler on some of my teams. Honestly the only thing I didn't like about the tactical mode was the turn 0 stun on both sides. But I still managed to absolutely rape the shit out of those enemies and their refilling lifebars with specific setups.

Unfortunately there's no universal team that can one shot every mob pack in every phase shift in one turn on the highest difficulty. But this is my team which works on almost every single mob pack, except for one on the tree stage.
Iphi (Falcon badge to set Poison/Pain and holding grasta to boost Flamme's damage) + Flammelapis + Minalca + AS Cynthia. Back row should have someone functioning as a grasta mule for Minalca and Cynthia and then AS Otoha to restore everyone's MP and HP. Flamme, Minalca and Cynthia should all have equipment to let them go first - Falcon Badges, Falcon Grasta or Mechani weapons. You may need to slap some lower speed badges (like the ones from Toto Dream Theater) on them if necessary so that Iphi will always go first and put Pain/Poison on enemies.
This team can clear almost every single phase shift mob pack in one go. There's just one mob pack in the Phase shift at the tree that I run into trouble because of resistances.
I'll have to hope I get flamme soon. I have a 2 turn setup at least but I'm hoping to get this to 1. I see it as a challenge.

Absolutely. Green keys give you chances for treatise and codexes plus you can gain light/shadow for a unit, and you get pain/poison grasta and grasta ores from the double green key ADs.

Absolutely not. Just hold out for future banners, which are coming at a much faster rate due to the devs wanting to sync up GL with JP.
Scarlet Reaper on the ~4th, and Elsir on the ~24th are both going to be solid banners to dump CS into.

Always a good time to go back. Everything's permanent so you haven't missed anything. They've released 3 more Apocrypha chapters (6 was especially good). They also just released the Astral Archive - basically go back and do some fights from Story Arc 1 and you get a bunch of chrono stones. It shouldn't take more than an hour or two to complete.

Oh for the Archive, the first reward when you try to accept is bugged and you can't get it, but everything else works fine.
