As a fellow astro main on frontlines my biggest issue is when I get a team full of pussies that won't get in the fray
Half the time I'm there ready to push and apply pressure and everyone runs away leaving me alone to spam all my types of heals just to keep them busy at least instead of worthlessly dying in 3 seconds
How do I know what to do in Frontlines? I just kinda wing it except when someone is coordinating in Alliance chat and I happen to read it.
The worst part about frontlines is you're playing such a large scale battle and the UI is still set up for a small scale MMO; that dumbass banner shit for score that no one looks at should've been replaced with a map specifically for PVP mode or a HUD refresh.
Without getting in depth unless you want me to, your goal is to grab the points/destroy the ice/whatever the main objective of the map is, usually focusing on the big ones/closest to your base you can defend, it all depends on the flow of the match really.
You should get used to checking your map to see where people are congested or enemy movement; they need to update this somehow to make it more at-a-glance readable instead of opening it awkwardly.
Is there a way to know what objectives (of a certain rank) will become available next?

Look up Dalamud addons, if you want to mess around with the UI. Its basically WoW-style open source addons predicated on FFXIVQuickLauncher and they have all kinds. Its not as sophisticated as WoW in some ways, but they do have UI replacements, timers and other stuff including for PVP among many, many others.
Japan has a thing about "Its not weird so long as you're doing it in a group" so even things that are offputting or strange if you're doing it along with others in some semi-formal organization recognizing that fact its cool. Think of the "going home clubs" at high schools of kids who aren't in other clubs, are seen as less anti-social than being the weirdo who is not part of any clubs and just goes home at the end of the day.

I just played a match of seal rock, and my team was doing that, except it worked because for whatever reason, blue and yellow decided to battle over one point while we captured the rest completely uncontested. They didn't try to fight us until we were almost 200 points ahead and by that point, it was too late because the last 2 points spawned right next to the red spawn

It's from LuckyBancho. The data here is characters who have earned achievements within a specified period, and the colours separate categories like "first achievement earned in this period", "no new achievements in this period" etc but you need good nipponese to understand it properly.
Because achievement data is not public by default (you have to change this in Lodestone), the absolute numbers on the y-axis do not represent the actual number of characters/players in FFXIV. I think LuckyBancho also said to disregard the right-most bar but I'm not sure. However it does display a known trend, which is a decline of the active playerbase during EW post-patches.
Different people attribute this to different things, the most common explanations being:
>covid boost/wowfugee boost ending
>lack of repeatable or midcore content (meaning bozja or relics)
>slow patch timing
>shitty 2 minute meta/simplification/homogenisation making raiding worse
Interdasting…i started in shadowbringers so i still feel good playing the game but the veterans in my fc haven’t logged in for months now.
I started in ShB too and I'm at a similar point now. I have all jobs levelled, caught all the fish, cleared all sidequests off the map, collected a lot of mountsmogcheevos, etc etc. I did savage raiding all through EW but finally burnt out on it, now there's not really much left so I'm just logging in to socialise a bit, do trial/normal raid roulette and a little pvp. I'm on my way to becoming one of those players who unsubs between patches and I'm fine with it, it's just how the game is made. I'll be back for Dawntrail and every new extreme.

i don't understand the point of this fc. it seems like it's mainly for college students, since it doesn't exclude people in education and they're looking for people 'with extra free time'. with that being said, why is the fc only focused on normal mode content that does not require any assistance whatsoever? is this one of those pickup groups that just use the game as an excuse to meet people they might want to be in a relationship with?
