Yes, you can emulate PSO+ on Dolphin. I go back to it every time PSP2 makes me nostalgic.
Since Sega is bringing back golden axe, crazy taxi, making Streets of Rage 5, and a bunch of other good shit I really really hope they remake PSO1. They would print money. Even a port getting the metroid prime remaster treatment would print a frickload of money. I know that game would sell especially on switch

Just play PSP2i in an emulator. You can render most of the game at a higher resolution pretty easily. Only thing that isn't is the CGs and prerendered scenes pretty much.

You can run your own private PSOBB server and play it solo, yes. Or just emulate the GC version(although this might have issues, not sure. It's been a while since I last checked). The PSP games are also easily playable solo and offline.

Me and a buddy co-oped through the storyline a few years ago but you can play solo as well; only thing you'll miss out on is each area's dungeon mission (which are pretty cool, but there's still matchmaking for those).

Yes. The game actually has a single-player storyline too, although it is incredibly light and barebones. I recommend emulating if you want the solo experience, though, you can also do it on a private server if you want to.

Every fricking one I try is "just play 60-120 hours alone before you get to the endgame where other people are maybe playing", I have not played a non-solo MMO in forever, nobody says a word and everywhere is deserted because everyone is in an instance alone. The last time a person talked to me without me trying to initiate it was in Flyff Universe for some unreal fricking reason.

unfortunately if you don't play day 1 you're rarely going to get this experience; most people race to the end thanks to everyone wanting to be realm-first homosexuals. The good old days of playing an mmo for the experience of adventuring in another world are gone
that's mostly a relic of game design. Monsters and Memories seems like a decent Everquest clone that will replicate that, but who knows if it'll deliver. Plus have to wait for it to finish
I was part of the test they recently did and it feels nothing like when EQ was young. Too many players are talking about max DPS and where to go for the best exp/hr, I saw some other people accepting the same riddle quest as me and asked if they wanted to brainstorm to solve it and they said the answers were already in the Discord and not to hand it in until I hit level 5 because it's better exp.
I've had the same experience, my advice is to join a guild before you even download the game. You do have to join their Discord, that's just life now, but you get to know them and make up some bs excuse why you can't start immediately. By the time you actually get in game at least 1 other person has decided to roll a new character and level with you, I've done this twice now and I stuck with those game far longer.
I wish we had enough reliable people to jump into dead MMOs and play them as a full group because there are lots of them I wish I got to try, the few times I've tried with Ganker either the group gets to max level in a few days or they try it once and don't log on again.
