The only exception is important fixes like for Dark Souls on PC. Apart from that, no, I do not approve of mods. At all. I don't care what they bring to the table, they're buggy and they taint the programmatic purity of the software....

Nope, terraria’s code leaked early on and it was very poorly optimized, genuinely embarrassing. Most mods generally have higher standards. Not saying it’s a bad game, it’s great, but saying you don’t trust the amateur coding of mods when you play Terraria is actually comically funny, I’ll be laughing at this all day.

It was the code for an incredibly early indev prototype, which is why no one ever really did much with it, besides laugh at it. Since then the game has been decompiled from version to version for modding purposes and you can look at the code that way, but the actual leaked code version is ancient.

game suffers from a lot of late-game bloat that only 1% of the playerbase has ever even seen

it's max comfy until Wall of Flesh and I always get own-zoned afterwards and have trouble with even simple enemies
it doesnt even get hard after WoF
it just gets grindy and not fun
then the late late game bosses like Moongay, Beeb***h and the other shit all require autistic min-max gear and minecart exploits to beat
so its a hard pass from me

Is the Calamity mod actually any good? I really think the artstyle looks ugly compared to the main game.
It's mocked as Calameme for a reason.
It’s pretty decent but can drag on if you don’t like all the extra bosses it adds. The best part of it for me is being able to craft basically every pre hardmode item and hardmode being a lot more open ended.
