Anyone else?

I look at what this property has morphed into and can't help but feel disgust.

I think I'm at a point where I can now confidently say: "I GENUINELY HATE THE POKÉMON FRANCHISE."

Voltorb/Electrode is one of my favorite pokemon, so your opinion is bad

He's literally the series icon in pokemon form and false items in the powerplant is COOL
      Explosions are also COOL
He looks ANGRY and he's FAST as FRICK

the wood voltorbs are stupid though, yeah
      literally retconned his own lore

The series hasn't changed. That's its biggest problem: it's stagnant. If you liked RB, there's no reason you shouldn't like SwSh, because they're the same game.

              lol

You "people" are so aggressively stupid. It's like when one points out how fricking ridiculous the trainer designs became and you instantly proceed to "well ackshually" and point out one character with a relatively subdued design as if somehow that's gonna erase all the heaps of drag queen-tier costumes they have. Show me the part in red and blue where a legendary pokemon approaches you and starts talking to you about themselves.

But I dont like RB, The series only really started to get going with GS and by RS (well, E especially) had finally gained an identity and level of content I liked (albeit I know some dont like the tone shift from gen 1 into gen 2-4 where pokemon became more naturalistic). I have zero reason to boot up SV after I saw credits, just like I had zero reason to boot up SwSh, and very little reason to boot up SM, XY, or BW (each new entry having less and less content and returning more and more to the Gen 1 baseline of catch and pvp and literally nothing else).

This is my favorite pokemon game. I'm currently in the process of romhacking it to make it even more to my liking. I don't see myself ever buying another pokemon product ever again

Romhacking is the future. Just make your own experiences. What changes are you making anon? I'm making a Gen 2 TCG hack myself.

completely overhauling the attacks/HP/types/weaknesses... of each pokemon, custom decks for all opponents, rebalancing trainer cards, custom art mostly for pokemon with the generic sugimori art and the holographics with boring backgrounds, replacing the characters with the mainline ones from Kanto(Red, Oak, Gym Leaders...)

I hate gen 2 but if you don't know already check out tcg neo. it might at least have some art you could use

I haven't really cared much about the franchise since BW anyway so it doesn't really matter to me that the main series has went to shit. It was romhacks and fangames that rekindled my love for pokemon during COVID lockdowns.

SwSH was okay at best, Violet looks like shit, new dlc doesn't make it more interesting. Next one might me good, let's say, we had shit gen before, followed by good gen, followed by ok gen, them a new bad gen... it just... ok
if oyu don't like it you skip it and play older ones ir you want or just battle sims. Or hack roms.

      >Next one might me good
I remember saying this after XY.
      >Oh XY were just bad because they couldnt finish due to needing to jump to 3D the next game will be kino for sure
      >oh SM were even worse somehow... but it was the Yokai watch influence now that Yokai watch is dead the next games will be good again.
      >SwSh are almost just as shit huh, Yokai watch influence is still going strong... Jump to HD, that was probably the reason, HD is often a more difficult jump than 3D for most devs, surely they'll smarten up and learn from their mistakes for the next game
      >SV runs at 20FPS has no battle facilities whatsoever, can't rebattle E4, doesn't even have set mode, buildings dont have interiors, games now so overloaded with QoL features that the entire sense of adventure has disappeared alongside any of the decision making, Raids are the only endgame content and they are completely non-functional buggy nightmares that feel like complete shit.
      >b-but there were still some cool ideas there, n-next time for sure
It's getting harder and harder to cope. Especially since I was always big into stuff like contests, secret bases, and all that kinda extra side content to really keep you messing around in the world which were basically stripped out of the series with BW and the replacements had no real sense of a progression system or win condition.

I kinda do and kinda don't. The exact moment the franchise goes to shit varies from person to person but I would say that Sun and Moon were when the world of pokemon completely jumped the shark to me, they wanted to court a different audience and basically completely changed the setting and vibe of the series permanently. It feels like the pokemon games feel closer in tone to pokemon as an entity now, whereas before the games sorta had their own feeling a bit disconnected from the Pikachu t-shirts in wal-mart.
Of course what deeply depresses me is not the state of the games (which is depressingly bad dont get me wrong), but that it's impossible to even enjoy and discuss the old games or how the series used to be anymore because literally over half the threads on this board are now a few autists throwing shitfits at each other over which old regions are actually shit (while slowly but surely trying to justify the newer games as actually being better). I'm not happy about "thing I like completely changes from everything I liked about it and becomes something I dont like anymore", but that is nowhere close to how bad I feel about "thing I like becomes something I dont like and also sales skyrocket and then everyone says the parts of the series you did like were actually shit and that the series is at its best when its bad", because it's the nail in the coffin, things will never get better, there will never be any alternatives, things will always be bad and continue to get worse. I keep buying the new games so I am complicit to an extent, but idk, despite how bad they are each one has just the slighest spark of potential that keeps making my moronic brain think "Maybe they'll nail it next time" despite knowing that the series is utterly disposable now and will never return to the way it was when they tried to make the regions feel alive and added tons of side content to do after clearing the story.

I just stick with older games and media

It being garbage isn't my problem because I don't play the newer games or watch the newer shows

Problem solved, although it hurts a bit
Only a bit though, because I'm quite used to ALL MY BELOVED CHILDHOOD SERIES BEING RUN RIGHT INTO THE GROUND
I'm used to it at this point

What else am I going to do? Every other video game series I loved also went to shit, no good new properties are being produced in any medium, there's nothing to replace what is lost. Do I need to take 10 years off my age and become a zoomer and distract myself with meaningless tiktoks all day or something?
