Anyone else dislike the protagonist's design in Metaphor:Refantazio?
I really wish we could get more jrpg's without a twink protagonist. Especially from atlus.

Ugh...I know it should be a POC College student trans MC
Well he is a poc.
he's white coded
you're gay coded anon
HOLEY there's no coming back from this
reggiN
? He's literally a brown boy wearing pantyhose.
I think its fine.
theres probably different costumes for him anyways
From what little we had back when it was still called Project Re:Fantasy, the characters looked much more like traditional fantasy and not twinks wearing French designer clothes. Seriously, why do people just want another anime JRPG with Persona 5 UI? We could have gotten dark fantasy kino instead.
Because weebs have no taste.
I quite liked that design.
I agree. Way better than Hulkenberg
>Mitsuru but she elf
Boring
>Mitsuru but she elf
Hot
Probably a upper management decision at Fatlus. I bet the social link bullshit wasn't originally part of the game either, but some homosexual exec demanded social links since they were the "Persona team".
Really weird that someone made that decision but then had no romance for the social links anyway.
Look how soul hackers 2 turned out. Every thing they make from now on is gonna have some persona influence. Same thing happend go From Software
It definitely feels like Atlus doesn't have confidence in their games if it doesn't have those elements in there somewhere.
>it definitely hrrrrrrrr hrrrrrrrrr deeeeeee drrrrrrrr hrrrrrrrrrrrrr there hrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
STFU stupid drooling homosexual
do you really think the image you posted was gonna be a dark fantasy?
I was at least expecting a more grounded and traditional fantasy setting and not Persona 5 with medieval skin
>they never had any intention of making a real fantasy game
>Atlus and Studio Zero describe Project Re Fantasy as “a complete departure from the [Shin Megami Tensei] and Persona series, and a return to the roots of where the Japanese games industry began with fantasy role-playing games.” The goal is to create a “traditional fantasy RPG with distinctively Atlus flavor.”
>the director literally says it
>umm that's actually not true because... [schizo troony headcanon]
>I was at least expecting a more grounded and traditional fantasy setting
why would you want that?
>why would you want that?
Because I'm tired of JRPGs always trying to be super over-the-top and seeing them break conventions. For once, I want a jrpg that actually takes place in a fantasy world with fantasy enemies with no gimmicks like time travel, aliens, or multiverse bullshit. And it's pissing me off seeing homosexuals ITT who didn't know about this game until last year trying to gaslight me when it was repeatedly said FOR YEARS that the game was going to be completely different from Persona and SMT.
>. For once, I want a jrpg that actually takes place in a fantasy world with fantasy enemies
>the faculty or activity of imagining things, especially things that are impossible or improbable
at what point did fantasy start exclusively meaning lord of the rings?
>until last year trying to gaslight me when it was repeatedly said FOR YEARS that the game was going to be completely different from Persona and SMT.
thats just corporate pr as long as its a turn based rpg it would be literally impossible to be completely dethatched from those two
they never had any intention of making a real fantasy game
And the gas lighter has arrived to derail the thread with easily disprovable arguemnts
New Hulkenberg is so shit
He looks like the lovechild of Makoto Yuki and Aigis. So I kinda like the design.
He most likely IS Door
Metaphor takes place on "the other side."
door kun got isekai'd after the seal?
When you set out to set the world record for most wieners pleasured in a year, did you ever expect to hit the 1000 mark so quickly?
Heterochromia is getting a little played out but otherwise it’s fine I guess. I like the costume, not so much the Marth haircut.
I like how the main issue Ganker has with Metaphor is that it doesn't stack up against the perfect generic fantasy game anons made up in their head after seeing some early concept art that's almost a decade old now.
>perfect generic fantasy game a
Yeah I find it funny so many people are upset this game isn't generic enough. like would it really have been so much better if we were fighting goblins and ogres instead of the weird artsy schitzo beasts that we got?
>like would it really have been so much better if we were fighting goblins and ogres instead of the weird artsy schitzo beasts that we got?
Yes.
That's partly why people are upset. Its IS perfectly generic
>nooooooo I wanted dragons and wizards not this
Some anons have the creativity of a brick.
anymore of these comparison pics?
imagine having people living in your butt
>still 6 months away
I sleep. Every atlus production that's not persona or vanillaware looks like dogshit anyways
I'm not playing as a brazilian twink.
Also no fairy romance = no buy
simple as
It makes sense. You are a Brazilian twink so why would you want to play as one.
It’s like the guy driving a forklift at work coming home to play forklift simulator. Boring!
its funny how a game thats full of visual style has the most boring looking character designs. i think atlus needs to hire a new character designer.
What’s funnier are the grunting noises you made when your stepdad plowed your anus open. You sounded like a pig snorting through cow shit looking for nuggets of goodness.
why are you listening if it bothers you so much? lol
I think the character design is quite fashionable. But it's more like actual, thoughtful real-world chic fashion design rather than the over-the-top fantasy styling we are used to in JRPGs. I don't think it's boring, but I could see actual people wearing this.
Literally p3 protagonist.
I didn't play SMT5 because of its troony MC and I'm not playing shitskin persona.
He looks like he doesn't have a gag reflex.
>In a previous interview, Soejima-san mentioned this about the protagonist: “While there is a “player = protagonist” dynamic, the protagonist isn’t simply a blank slate. I designed him as an androgynous young man with a gentle yet intriguing aura, possessing a strong gaze.” Indeed, the illustration conveys a different atmosphere compared to the protagonists of the Persona series.
>Hashino: This game’s protagonist has a clear mission, aiming to become king to fulfill that goal. However, he is not the type to strategically aim for the throne with calculated moves, but rather, he is a young man with a charisma he’s unaware of, with an innate heroism, who eventually gathers support from people. He’s someone that might revolutionize the world because of his purity.
MC's design lines up with both what Soejima and Hashino stated about him
