>unoptimised slop (32GB for a fricking dungeon crawler) >multi-platform, gimped by consoles, lowest common denominator are lobotomised console morons >not original devs >thq-n*rdic >partially tax funded >will most likely be pozzed as frick
Most of the active abilities were really poorly designed and balanced. Cooldowns, no damage, often limited to hitting one target. Many skills expected you to dump mass points into them yet they were never worth it.
I think the setting is well represented compared to how niche it is.
In recent times we had Apotheon, Assassin's Creed Odyssey, Immortals Fenyx Rising, Hades, Total War Troy and soon Titan Quest 2.
In the past we have Age of Empires Mythology, God of War trilogy, Spartan: Total Warrior, Titan Quest and Zeus: Master of Olympus.
That's 13 games in total. Ancient Egypt has much less in comparison.
It's just that Ancient Greek fantasy is extremely restricted. Masses and artists can't into ancient Greece. The classical Greece aesthetic is too cemented in the collective consciousness to diverge from it. Ancient Greece as an aesthetic hasn't evolved much past the sword and sandal movies of the 50s. Proper bronze or dark age Greece is basically non existent in most media. Any attempt at making a new Greek mythology monster is seen as contrived. Anything besides Corinthian helmet, Leonidas and Minotaurs is foreign to most people. Tolkien paved the way for medieval fantasy, shit, most medieval rpgs still exclusively use Tolkien's fantasy races. Greek mythology hasn't had its Tolkien. Thus, you are either stuck with classical Greece action games or slightly more accurate strategy games. That said, Greek mythology still has myriads of stories and monsters which are still untapped. Bronze age Greece Dragons Dogma would be a dream come true
>Anyone else excited for this?
I will never get memed into anything by these devs ever again. Titan Quest and Grim Dawn are the fricking worst ARPGs I've ever had the misfortune of slogging through. This game could drop and get 10/10's across the board, and I wouldn't even demo it.
>ai in promo art
it's over
>ai in promo art
where? i cant see it
depth is fricked up, only AI could frick up this way.
what a fricking moron, theres no mark of AI in this at all
Yeah there is. The sky isn't correct and the depth is off.
You're just use to seeing ai
not real plus you are white and virgin
MAKE SPARTA GREAT AGAIN!
>Not real
>Despite being a teaser trailer on YT
Yeah no.

Dont give a single frick any more.
>not original devs
yeah? IT devs were different to vanilla devs you know. IT was garbage.
Do people even enjoy playing ARPGs? They're just loot collectors with a story tacked on.
I like collecting loot
I remember playing it back then and feeling like not only it was inferior to Diablo 2, it was also mostly a huge ripoff of most of its story.
Then I played other Diablo clones, and later Diablo 3, and in hindsight Titan Quest was pretty good.
I always loved the theme, look and feel, but back then I felt that it had too few active abilities, relying mostly on passives.
Most of the active abilities were really poorly designed and balanced. Cooldowns, no damage, often limited to hitting one target. Many skills expected you to dump mass points into them yet they were never worth it.
Yes, exactly. If I play an ARPG I want abilities I can use a lot, if not spam, that actually do something. TQ is kind of the opposite of that.
I hope gameplay wise it will be grim dawn.
Will it still have offline single player content? That shit is important.
I wish we got more Ancient Greek fantasy/mythology settings in vidya

Anon....

I already played Grim Dawn
Playing ARPGs in 2023 is on the same level as playing MMOs in the current year
>that feeling in 1 when you started with a short sword off the boat and ended up defeating Hades
Epic story as it can get.
Are the DLC worth getting?
Why not go for it? I think it's currently discounted on Steam.
no im not excited for Unreal engine 5 game
grim dawn has to run in dx9 mode to not be unstable stuttery garbage
I see, but this thread is about Titan Quest 2, not Grim Dawn on Dx9.
TQ2 isn't being made by Grim Yawn devs. Which is a good thing.
I am. But from the info on the game's site I imagine it will lean heavily into souls-shit.
>spellforce 3
Not a good thing either. But who knows.
Considering how they made GD somehow worse than TQ I'll take some random developer over them.
sure, gimme, I mean, how hard it could be to frick up a game like TQ
yes
Greek aesthetic is so lame. Grim dawn 2 when?
>Unreal Engine 5
It's gonna be a blurry, stuttery and unoptimized mess, it might be fun after 10 patches or so.

I am cautiously looking forward to finding out if it's any good but I am not expecting it to be any good.
>Unr*al Engine
>consoleslop
Not really. I'm a lot more exited for the new Grim Dawn updates, now that the devs are working on the game again.
not really
first one was pretty boring
If Crate aren't making it I have zero interest.
