Anyone else lose interest in single player FPS games after playing CSGO or other comp shooters. In these single player games I just insta one tap everyone and it feels like I'm playing with bots. No rush from killing a real human. It's boring to kill bots. Like I'm playing aim labs

Most boomers here wont agree since their reflexs went to shit and cant keep up with younger people
O yah true..
Unironically yes. I hate getting stomped by Adderall-snorting kids playing like there's money on the line, so I stick to singleplayer stuff and I'm happier for it. Enjoy the grind to whatever is the top ELO rank for whatever you play.
it’s ok anon you’re just trash
I'm not really, though. I'd say I'm around mid-range skill.
boomers can compensate with 240hz+ monitors while the poor zoomies are stuck with the 60hz their mom bought
I used to be Global Elite in CSGO a decade ago. Now I'm barely in Gold. It will happen to you too. Still fun. But single player shooter campaigns are fun and will always scratch a certain itch that multiplayer simply can't.
I'm guessing you took a break, this has more to do with the playerbase improving in general
I only played a couple comp matches in 2015 or so, got placed in dmg and wrecked everyone with no effort going to global but now the dmg-lem range is full of faceit10 smurfs and shit
ridiculous. you are a low intelligence specimen if you cannot separate the joy of plowing through hoards of ridiculous and varied enemies while exploring levels you've never seen before from the stripped down competitive multiplayer of counter strike.
It means nothing. Literally feels like bots. Look at that fricking guy just standing still lmao. It ruins the immersion entirely
wow bro, did you just kill 3 (three) enemies standing still shooting 2 projectiles every 10 seconds that take away 5% of your health????
holy shit
No, it had the opposite effect for me because I realized there's no end or real pay off to multiplayer games. They're just there to feed you constant rewards and temporary satisfaction, there's no real payoff, it just keeps going, it's like that dragon chasing game from South Park. Constant small victories that don't add up to anything.
That screenshot has more soul than 99.9% of modern games
>there's no end or real pay off to multiplayer games.
aren't they just fun? Would you say the same thing about playing soccer in the park with some bros?
thinking like you do fricked me up and i can't play fps shit like csgo anymore because once i suddenly started performing way worse and i realized it, i felt like there was no point in playing the game anymore
its better to just focus on having fun, if you're not having fun then what are you even doing
My cousin is like that. He lost his skill and every game he is like talking about bad he is and I try to tell him no worries just a bad game you're good to keep him playing..
No. In fact I think this sudden emphasis on "esports" in the FPS genre is completely poisonous. Back in the day the truly exemplary players began playing exclusively because the game itself was a lot of fun. There were no cash prizes or corporate sponsorship or ranked matchmaking or anything like that. Your reward for being the best player of X was simply having your name brought up among kids like you were Zezima. But the allure of making continuous profits off this shit has convinced developers & publishers to spend as little time as possible on the actual game development, focusing on the more shallow elements and then covering it in promises of being "the next big esport." People will consistently fall for it as well, because so many people have been transformed into little israelites who believe the games you play must be minmaxed, a perpetual theory of "what should I be a sweaty tryhard in so I can get the most return"? It's ridiculous and antithetical to the FPS genre's origins as something where you battled monsters with like one attack each. It's very sad. It's also the reason games like TF2 appear immortal, as they were built to be fun first.
Esports killed the fun in multiplayer games the same way achievements killed the fun in single player games.
>games developed by dorks who have fun playing and designing them
vs.
>large corporations who want to soullessly pump out the next big thing to farm microtransactions out of MTN dew+dorito plebs
>Anyone else lose interest in single player FPS games after playing CSGO or other comp shooters
nah i play csgo tons and still like stalker gamma. that game is plenty hard with very high stakes.
not only am i a boomer with garbage reflex now, but playing online comp fps you're playing against cheaters or sweaties who have 1000 hours and know the map and best camping spots by heart, i neither have the time nor desire to spend hundreds of hours to minmax playing strat and learning the maps anymore
how can you live to be old enough to be a "boomer" and not learn how to play competitivie games? and no, i dont buy the "anymore" shit, you never did learn or you wouldn't be saying shit like this.
He probably realized it's a huge waste of time. Esports are worthless.
"he" never got past rookie rank in any online game. there is a degree of discipline and study required to be successful in these games and you can just smell how moronic someone is by their posts. you lack knowledge.
>"he" never got past rookie rank in any online game.
Good.
then stop larping shitter, you missed out on an enormous milestone in video games and you're trying to rob people of the same joy because you're a genetic failure
If you define genetic success by spending your potentially-valuable time on this planet grinding away in an elaborate skinner's box all so you can earn some kind of imaginary digital medal in a video game, I don't think you have very much room to define who's lacking in knowledge and who isn't. The only possible redeeming factor in any of this is you may have potentially enjoyed yourself. I really doubt you have however, as these games operate like a one-armed bandit and deliberately try to frustrate you.
if you can't even figure out how to outwit stoned 13 year olds in CSGO you're not going to be successful at anything in life
Those people sound like they're using video games to unwind or have fun. I also doubt they are very high in any sort of ranked system, unless this whole CS:GO thing takes way less skill than you initially implied.
those people took time to practice, you didn't, which is why they are better than you. they probably don't even know what to practice, but because they exerted the bare minimum effort they absolutely dominated you so hard that you have to come to Ganker and cry about competitive games. nothing valuable in life is uncontested, so I have to wonder what sort of life you are going to wind up with.
Stoned 13 year-olds are trying their hardest? What silly point are you trying to conjure up? You can give up on trying to shame me as well, I will never play a video game that demands grinding for very long.
the little kid is more valuable than you are, that's what im trying to "conjure up"
Valuable how? You aren't being very coherent.
they're net value is higher than yours. for example, whats the point of discussing anything with someone who is too lazy to put in any effort whatsoever? i don't want to talk about morrowind and new vegas all day, but what else is someone like that going to play? lazy people are not enjoyable to be around, they are parasites leeching off the efforts of others.
it's their, not they're
You are baiting, nobody is this stupid
>le 12 yo who spends all day every day playing videogames has more value than a functional working adult
The point is that if stoned losers can learn a game without exerting any conscious effort and you can't learn it at all without giving up then you're absolutely fricking hopeless and your opinion is invalid.
This is the actual brainwashing described in
and it's very sad to see it expressed without irony.
>fallout tard is a shitter that poops his pants when he leaves his hugbox
I am SHOCKED
>expressed without irony
no i'm just trolling
You didn't express a fricking thing in that post you just alzheimers rambled about some shit you made up.
>those people took time to practice
>Practising for a game
You have to be 18 to post on this site, unless money is at stake or something there is absolutely no point in wasting time doing that. Especially when the developer can decide "x is bad, it needs change".
This may come as a shock to you, but actual humans, not NPCs, like getting better at things, and it's fun to improve. This is what casuals and other assorted undesirables will never understand.
Nobody older than like 15 "respects" someone who wastes their time trying to get better at a game where everyone cheats anyway.
Who on earth are you quoting? What is this in response to? You're literally just ignoring his point.
CS stopped being fun when it was just people getting together to hang out in a game and turned into esport autism where you have to endure hour long matches with subhuman proles who only play for themself.
Cheating, majority of the playerbase being third world subhumans, developers that don't care and the game itself being a shitter make this one of the least fun "games" to ever exist.
As i said: It exists to give you free steam monies, nothing more.
I forgot to add onto this: If you are gonna waste time getting good at a game, pick something worthwhile like driving sims.
https://www.oneesports.gg/culture/f1-esports-racer-now-a-formula-2-driver/
Hi, I know you don’t care, but that clip is not evidence of cheating. CSGO matchmaking demos are recorded at 32 tick (half the information as in the actual match which was 64 tick). Because of this, many 180s / flick shots look like aimlock since the shot comes out before the crosshair reaches the head in the demo due to the interpolation. Note: while I am 100% sure this clip does not constitute evidence of cheating, I cannot say he wasn’t cheating based on just 1 clip. Source: I have thousands of hours in game, used to be a paid observer (cameraman for live games) and spend a lot of time watching demos
Do not bother, csgo threads have a dedicated schizo who posts videos of "cheaters" while he never played the game himself. Valve attracts a lot of schizos in this board.
>but that clip is not evidence of cheating
I know, it's meant to showcase how big of a shitter the game is.
>Perfectly line up crosshair to head
>Stop moving for a whole second
>Shoot
>Miss
Meanwhile this tard is running around like headless bee without his cross being anywhere near the target(even at the time of the shot occuring) but yet he still gets a kill gifted to him.
TLDR: Just lol at taking this game seriously.
>not knowing what counter strafing is
Man I know Ganker are shitters but really?
>standing still is advanced movement tech
do cs babs really?
Apparently standing still faster filters you, so I'd guess it counts as "advanced" to you
the guy in the clip clearly counterstrafed for the shot
I've never seen a shot like that during a match, plenty of bullshit happens in demos
?t=57
0:57 discount call of duty.
You missed the half of his explanation that explains that these replays are desynchronized and look off due tick rate fricker.
That's just a stupid cope too. The difference isn't that big plus i seen it happen to my teammates and even myself at times. Nothing in this game makes sense, the less you take it seriously and play it without a care in the world the better you are at it.
Assuming that is your clip, you guys are low MG1 / gold nova so you've got a long way to go man. Blaming the game is just cope. If you don't have fun then stop playing, but your rank is too low to take what you say seriously
It's not, i always hang around LE-LEM despite constantly being teamed with russians and playing alone with music on.
The game is an utter meme to anybody who has the slightest clue on what's going on behind the scenes.
You are not LE-LEM in that clip, those players are all gold nova or MG1. Either way, just quit then, realize it wasn't for you. Don't need to make excuses
I already told you it isn't my clip.
O, my bad. Well either get good or quit I don't think there is much else to say. You're evidently wrong about the mechanics being bad, but you're free to dislike them and not play the game.
>You're evidently wrong about the mechanics being bad
I mean you haven't really proven anything yourself, you just screamed "YOUR BAD YOUR BAD" despite me giving you all info of the opposite. The fanbase already accepts how little Valve gives a flying toss about it(among other things), why not accept that the game just isn't that good?
?t=305
CSGO doesn't have perfect netcode, and especially when playing online you will see apparent errors. Anyone who says the netcode is perfect is lying. Anyone who says that it is "bad" probably doesn't know what they are talking about. I don't need to "accept" anything since I have fun playing the game, which is the whole point.
You haven't presented a single good argument or evidence to suggest that im wrong this entire time, this conversation is clearly fruitless.
I will leave you with 1 last video
That's because of tick. Faceit is 128 and doesn't have this problem
that is 128 tick dumbass
That's because of the hitbox. Line that shot up with a bot - aim directly at/slightly below his eye (the player was reloading in the clip so his head was tilted down) from that angle, and your shot will miss. It's a pretty shitty hitbox imo
Watched it closer it missed the guy. This is the exact moment he shot. His crosshair isnt on the guy
Also here's what I mean with the hitbox - that shot will miss
>meanwhile, other shooters
nvm, found the match. It is from 2021, but no one on your team has ever been LEM. One guy ("shi" in the clip) was LE briefly before going straight back to MG1. Why lie?
I lost interest in new shooters when they stopped making them feel as clean and crisp to play as the goldsrc games.
>no your fun doesn't count because it's uhh fake fun that's it
shut up loser
epic post
braindead
because the games I "learned" when I was your age are dead now
I was interested in something like tarkov but I know I won't be able to play a couple of hours and have fun, it'd instead require me to invest a lot of time to get on the same level as the kids who have been playing 5 hours a day for the past 5 years, all the infamous cheating, etc. so I just say frick it and go back to playing stalker solo instead
if you were actually good at those games and not just playing CSS or quake DM pubs like a dipshit you'd be able to leverage DECADES of knowledge over young people. you can learn faster, you know what to look for and what to pay attention to, you know how people behave, you're calmer, all the cards are stacked in your favor.
None of that matters for memorizing item prices and shitty map layouts. Frick tarkov he made the right choice
>decades of knowledge
lol. most people top out rather quickly. it's a sigmoid curve not a linear or exponential
>how can you live to be old enough to be a "boomer" and not learn how to play competitive games?
Because I was playing good games before that was a thing and the truth is, they were always shit. Arena shooters were a mistake. Nostalgia is a hella drug, and whatever the first game you got into, it will always be your main. Mine wasn't trash talking with gays on xbox.
The worst is griefers. I always feel bad when some father of 2 has to deal with griefers in the one hour he gets off work to play a game. You always hear the disappointment in their voice.
*ahem*
>In these single player games I just insta one tap everyone and it feels like I'm playing with bots
You do realize that lots of cs:go "players" are actually bots? People just set those up to get xp and drops
dunno what you're talking about, no fps feels as satisfying to kill people in as cs does for me
it feels better to pop heads in valorant, but CS2 brought things up to about the same quality so look forward to that
The other way for me, since Dirty Bomb died i failed to find a PvP thata ctually interested me but then i just realized that i didnt like PvP games anymore, so since 2016 i've been playing exclusively Single player games and PvE Coop games which i almost never did before, ironically enough at the same i was a poorgay when i liked competitive games lmao
play swat3 with the difficulty cranked up. for how old the game is, the AI plays very good. they lean properly, they hold tight angles through doorways and slice corners with prefire. at times it feels like playing against human players
Real human make the dumbest mistakes in comp games. Shit on bots all you want but most games have different enough shooting mechanics that not all your cs skills will transfer at all. Games with projectiles? How are you gonna come with that? You've never practices anything with projectile prediction in CS.
Truth is unless you're the top 1% MMR bracket of CS you're not fighting anyone smart at all. You can bait the dumbest idiots to move the way you want to in a comp game. A bot is a fricking bot. If you've got one shot and they have 100% hitscan accuracy and you frick up then it's your fault.
CS has its place but so do all single player fps (except triple A trash like cod/bf campaign)
No I find it more fun to play sp fps games now that i can play like a roided out chimp just rushing everywhere and everyone after spending so much time working on my aim autism.
Multiplayer FPS, like any other multiplayer games, are worthless because they're gonna die at some point. All singleplayer games can be revisited at almost any time, and if you do run into some issues along the way, particularly with older titles, there's plenty of solutions laid out for you. Not even gonna go into artistic merit, as I think that's obvious.
I do like CS:GO's mapping community albeithoughever. Those guys make some real fricking sick stuff.
>Multiplayer FPS, like any other multiplayer games, are worthless because they're gonna die at some point
CS is a 2 decade old legacy game with 1.5 million players. I don't think it will ever die.
I played original Day of Defeat and it was filled with 50 year olds who have been playing the same for the past 25 years. So cute
the problem is that enemies in most singleplayer games are bullet sponges to compensate for their lack of AI
1v1 mge right now
I'm GE homie. want to join an empty arena server
i think anon is using the team fortress 2 definition of "mge". MGE was a competitive tf2 orginization years ago, but all that is left of it is their custom 1v1 gamemode
So translation:
Lets do a 1v1 match, best to 20, on an MGE mod server. Usually on scout, soldier, or demo.
o no i suck at those
oh i think you were saying me not mge. either way
I'm guessing that one with the hat is some sort of "veteran".
i would like if the games had higher ttk. killing or being killed in .1s does not feel satisfying.
just play CoD
That's what you get for playing hitscan and against humanoid enemies that just shoots boring projectiles.
pretty much this, also, CS literally mops the floor with other FPS multiplayer games
>Battlefield
fun for 10 or 20 hours, then gets boring
>Call of Duty
doesn't exist anymore
>Valorant? Rainbow Six?
they pathetically try to mimic CS sucess and they suck dick
I have 8000 hours in CSGO but Fortnite killed my love for CS. The most underrated game of all time. Takes like 100 hours of practice to learn the mechanics but it opens up a new world
lel, someday you will touch games with actual gameplay and BTFO
Like what arcanum nerd homosexual
Fortnite would be good competetive game if it wasn't for constant updates changing the meta every month or two
I don't even play battle royale. There is vibrant 1v1 community. Lots of kids wagering money I just only play creative
Comp fortnite is pure cringe. Casual fortnite is fun and it gets sweaty enough when you get into the higher matchmaking brackets.
I have no fricking clue how people play this shit unironically. You lose you feel like shit, you win you don't feel anything, is it just another case of digital drugs? I play once a week to get the drops and quit the second i get them. The only reason this game exists to me is to extract free money from it.
The feeling of clutching or hitting multiple kills gives you a super high and you chase that over and over
You hate it because you're treating it like a job. What's fun about cs is the shooting and the movement and the getting in your opponents head while they try and get into yours - the gameplay. It's not skins or ranks or esports or autistic aim training like all the people who can't enjoy games in this thread like to fixate on.
>You hate it because you're treating it like a job.
You have to though. If you treat it like a video game, people will use tactics they learned from "professionals" who are sponsored to effectively break the game and there's no casual way to defeat that. So now you must study those tactics. So now you're the one fixating onto the game, no longer having fun but trying to game it (no pun intended.) And the whole thing becomes an elaborate mess where you're frustrated trying to manage all of this garbage in a live fire environment.
>"no bro you dont have to tryhard, just stay in low ranks, no shame in it"
>sweaties stuck in mid-tier deliberately enter your bracket to troll you or feel powerful by employing bullshit
You're illiterate and moronic. They guy is talking about grinding out enough games to get a drop (his measly paycheck) being the only reason he's playing the game at all. You're responding to some other shit you made up.
yeah, getting loot in counter-strike
thats a thing
>$0.30 case every 3-4 matches
big money
>You have to though. If you treat it like a video game, people will use tactics they learned from "professionals" who are sponsored to effectively break the game and there's no casual way to defeat that. So now you must study those tactics. So now you're the one fixating onto the game, no longer having fun but trying to game it (no pun intended.) Yep this is why I stopped playing multiplayer altogether, you NEED to use every game breaking mechanic just to make ends meet.
Pic related, you get shit on by your teammates if you don't use a controller nowadays since the auto aim is so powerful. All the pros in Apex moved to controller for example.
But I don't want to play with a fricking controller. So tired of having to watch youtubers and reading patch notes because unless you know every little game breaking mechanic and balance change to every weapon, you're just not gonna do well compared to meta addicts REGARDLESS of your skills.
I appreciate being able to actually pause midgame.
>only arena shooter that can be called alive is tf2
>every new fps is some trundling shit with a sprint button where you aim down the cawadoody ironsights
>only reason anyone plays it is because they are a rank slave on a hamster wheel
Halo is more of an arena shooter than TF2 is
>run fast, double jump, shotgun man
common in single player modern "boomer" shooters, but rare in multiplayer since everyone else has a long range weapon
>jumpable rocket launcher that doesn't need to reload in between each shot
only in quake clones
>status effect, counter, combo guy
>manage multiple buildings, but still able to defend yourself guy
commen in other genres, very rare in shooters. Some loadouts in deep rock galactic are similar
>stickybomb launcher
ZERO other games. A manually detonating grenade MAYBE, but without the stickyness, reload pacing, jumping, etc
Demoman being able to spit out 12 explosives rapidly is what counters clumping up your entire team. Other games do it with press Q to win buttons.
>crossbow, overheal, ubercharge guy
tons of games have healers, but none of them have the depth of medic. and since medic is the ONLY guy with heals and the ONLY guy with an "ultimate ability", you become the entire enemy teams target. So he's fun to play because he actually has mechanical depth, strategy depth, and everyone is trying to kill you
>spy
apex legends mirage is the only guy i've seen that comes close to a shooter character that makes you "act"
>heavy
>sniper
99% of multiplayer shooters are JUST THESE TWO
and don't forget that c**tsman sniper is fairly unique
I often find SP enemies to be unsatisfying but I also find it unsatisfying how in most popular multiplayer FPSes, players wiggle and twitch around, they also feel like "bots" that are being controlled by a human (which I guess is true) but I rarely feel like I "I got that guy" it's more like "I got that doll he was controlling that was spazzing out"
i have been playing CS for almost 15 years now and i still replay a frick ton of singleplayer
i havent played any "comp" FPS in its actual intended gamemode for 5 years and my enjoyment has suddenly increase much more substantially, having to micromanage everything about your playstyle, your weapons, your team, and your strategy just so you can increase your rank sucks out the fun
Play good FPS games from the 90s like Hexen.
if i wanted to play doom(which i do), i'll fricking play doom, this looks like a ripoff, whats the point?
Hexen is better than Doom.
This has to be the very definition of a Zoomer post. This has to be bait
>posting this in consoleBlack person central, Ganker
>posting this in a board where 90% of PC "gamers" don't play anything but terrible JRPGs and VNs
Face it anon, this is probably the place to discuss games where people have the lowest skill on average. I legitimately wouldn't be surprised if the average redditor was better at vidya.
This is me except with TF2. Nothing beats the movement and shooting in that game.
it's a white man's game, Ganker will never understand the appeal
>it's a white man's game
the only people the play this are eastern europeans (not white), brazillians, and the chinese, ironically valorant has more of an actual western playerbase
>eastern europeans (not white)
more white than you muttmerican
Do AmeriBlack folk really not understand that CS is something almost every 15+ year old male in Europe plays?
plenty of scandis and frenchies play this bro, valorant is the game that's actually filled with shitskins.
>chinese
they're honorary aryans. you will never be a woman.
>every phenotype knowing for being lying cheating scum
at last I truly see
What?
Oh, you mean a FUN single player campaign....which new games don't have...
No.
i play both, but single players are better because most of the online players on these games play like brain dead bots, and the high level players are so good that to compete with them you need to rely on boring meta strategies, and even them you might lose because while you are skilled you got on a match with brain dead teammates.
Plus there is the enemy variety, in multiplayer games obviously everyone will play the same while in single player there is infinite possibilities of enemy variety.
its easy to remove competitive try hards from a game, introduce random elements they absolutely wont play games they cant memorize spray patterns too and other random things like that, even pisses off most speedrun gays
Come to virtual reality, my wearied friend, and escape from the eSports ESLers
I really want to and I have a lot of fun with my index, but I cannot play games that require me to move around without teleporting since I get very motion sick
Understandable
Yeah I've lost interest in them and the primary reason is that the games are full of comp andys that reach the pinnacle rank of their skill level and then they quit comp and just 5 stack quickplay/unranked to smash bronze players all day. It's just boring af to play against.
Why would I volunteer to be in some smurf's or twitch streamers youtube video when I can have fun in games instead?
Compgays ruined FPS games just like they ruined RTS games.
>I just insta one tap everyone and it feels like I'm playing with bots.
I feel like this when I'm playing CSGO. It's just too fricking easy compared to Apex and OW2. I don't know how can anyone take low TTK seriously. Also there's no verticality and tracking. Most of the time you just pre aim same angles and wait until someone runs into your crosshair. No wonder most people playing stretched res and 400 dpi. Because you barely need to move a mouse in this shit.
People like you derive self esteem from playing competitive games. Single player games aren't meaningful for you because they don't contribute to your ego and that's what you nee from the hobby. Well-rounded people don't have this problem.
It's fine anon, we were all 19 once.

Single player shooters are always more interesting than multiplayer.
