Combat's a bit too fast, but I do like the the atmosphere, thank you.
Golden Sun
Never really done DS emulation before, but maybe. Thank you.
Inquisitor.
Do you mean the 40K game or just Inquisitor? The non 40K one looks up my alley, thank you.
Any of the oldschool roguelikes so Rogue, Nethack, Moria, Angband etc. You cannot get quieter than silence.
Not too into rogue likes, the randomization isn't really for me. But I'll write those down for if I'm ever in an experimental mod, thank you.
Unlimited Saga.
Seems interesting enough, thank you.
>not very loud
Just turn the volume down you mong.
It's more of a feeling thing, you know? Music isn't overpoweringly chip tune, not at a ton of sound effects during fights hitting you every 3 seconds, just looking for something not too overstimulating.
>Do you mean the 40K game or just Inquisitor? The non 40K one looks up my alley, thank you.
Yeah that was it. It's kind of frustrating that the two have the same name, it's hard to look up information on the other one.
Unlimited SaGa is very fun but a hard learning curve you're going to need a guide because like typical Japan fashion they screw over Western audience it's basically a board game and they don't include the rules for western players
Holy shit you people who play japtrash games are uncomprihensibe to me
What the frick is even going on in that screencap you posted, it looks ugly as shit
As if someone spilled the watering colors >Someone recommends an ~~*RPG*~~ >it's been made in japan >Instantly reject it without even a consideration
Not too into MMOs, but I appreciate the suggestion, thank you.
Pillars of Eternity for that extra slowness
Planescape Torrment and Torrment: Tides of Numenera for melting your eyes reading textboxes
My rig's pretty old so I'm pretty warry on higher fidelity modern games, but I might be able to run it. Thank you.
fine, I'll say it. Disco Elysium
I've played it before and I'm not too sure I want to again. Not for the quality mind you, I just seem to have the worst luck with the dice rolls in it lol. Thank you.

It's a terrible practice, but I won't hold it against the game. I actually had a similar problem a few days ago when I was looking for info on the latest Call of Cthulhu game. I was looking for Call of Cthulhu (videogame), which is an RPG, but I kept getting info on Call of Cthulhu (role-playing game) as in the table top. Horrible, in all the wrong ways.
>Never really done DS emulation before, but maybe. Thank you.
Golden Sun is GBA, don't bother with the DS one.
Drakensang is not an MMO. Drakensang The Dark Eye and River of Time are more traditional RPGs. Drakensang Online is some random browser game with Drakensang name attached to it.
PoE sucks and is too boring for me. I asked for slow not boring.

You could at least try to understand things you dislike
you mean the 2d square tile one? I loved that a lot. Avernum is a pretty graphics update and I respect the work that went in it but in terms of spirit I still feel nostalgic for the original ones.
The Banner Saga games are pretty chill. I wouldn't really call them RPGs but they sort of cosplay as one. Cool world and story though and some fun turn based combat.
There's Solasta. It has turn based 5e combat, it's 5e so there's not a whole lot to it but it's 5e done very accurately. Your characters will look moronic and have bizarre dialog based on the alignment options you pick. You kind of have to enjoy it for what it is and laugh at the goofy parts.
If you haven't played the old gold box games, they're some of my favorites. I'll admit a lot of that recommendation comes from my nostalgia goggles but I think they stand on their own too. Probably want to start with pool of radiance and download the goldbox companion which automaps for you so you don't need to bust out the graph paper, if you're not into that sort of thing.
I'd suggest trying out some point-and-click adventure games instead. Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis and Beneath a Steel Sky are good ones to start with.
Chrono Trigger if you somehow haven't played that yet. EXA_PICO games are pretty decent. Radiata Stories is also fairly slow and mellow. Actually a lot of PS2/early PS3 era JRPGs are. If you're looking for western then pre-Mass Effect BioWare is your friend, hell even ME1. Both isometric Fallouts and Arcanum too.
Morrowind

They're also as slow as you make them.
I don't know if I'd call them a break though.

Very good to know, thank you.

Unironically, Drakensang is extremely slow. It has the action of a German middle age market in a small village in Northrhine-Westphalia
Pillars of Eternity for that extra slowness
Planescape Torrment and Torrment: Tides of Numenera for melting your eyes reading textboxes

>Disco Elysium
the characters never shut the frick up and even the voices in your head are voice acted
you can turn off the voice acting mate
and the voices in your head add in to the experience of living in a France-like country
Ni no Kuni.
Exile
