I played it a lot as a kid. I don't remember too much of it now, sadly. Good concept for a world, helped give an interesting feeling of exploration in a world where everything was cut off.
Does it actually have depth to it? I haven't played it but the footage makes the combo system look like a gimmick like the Legend of Dragoon timed hits
not really. it looks nice and is fairly intuitive, but mechanically its no different that most other games. the most depth there is to it is thinking how many combos you can squeeze into the action bar. and then you do that same thing over and over.
After watching a speedrun, I didn't honestly think to just abuse the slot machines at the second continent over at the windmill area (Vidna?) and there's literally a save crystal just right next to it. I dunno why I didn't think of it as a kid. Heard if you played it on PS3 though, the game softlocks at Noa's home on the third continent.
Never played the first one. Got the second one for PS2 buried in a bargain bin in like 2002 and loved it. It had an absurd amount of side content and fun progression and crafting systems. Ahead of its time in a lot of ways, but with really low production values.
It was a good game. The minotaut boss filtered me so I grinded so much for it that the rest of the game was a cakewalk. I prefer the sequel more, however.
yes i remember the nightmares.
🙂
Still an awesome game
that was an strange game

I play it every few years, it's just so comfy. It's like being wrapped in a warm blanket.
>blocks your path
>several times, in fact
the "sequel" didn't do it any favor.
I really liked the combat system in legaia. Frick, I haven't played this in at least 22 years but I still remember that shit.
Is xenogear combat but good

>load it up out of curiosity
>have a save at the bottom of the tower of sol
I think I know my plans tonight.
Good plans, anon. Many haven't played this game since the 90s.

The UI looked like it was made in 3 seconds in some free Photoshop knockoff.
