Age Of Empires 2 doesn't feel infinite. All the different civs play kind of the same anyway except for some extreme gimmicky ones like the one that doesn't need houses. Warcraft 3 and Starcraft are better in that.
At least Diablo 2 can be modded the frick out.
suggest d2 mods
Plugy and Basemod
been playing with plugy for years, now time to add base mod, thanks
add this one to the list
Playing this for the rest of your life would be depressing since it's worse than both Civ 2 and Civ 4 and you'd just be sitting there wishing you were playing one of those instead
>infinite replay value
>AOE2
All the AOE games and their derivatives get really stale after a time. There’s only so many nearly identical campaigns you can run before they all blend together. D2 is better because there’s many paths you can choose and the mp experience adds a lot of the fun in replaying. Doing mp in AOE doesn’t last long bc it’s draining. The only rush from replaying AOE games is in a few challenging map layouts and for history buffs who enjoy that aspect.
Hard no on replay value for this one. Lots of the Civ games suffer from that.
WC3 doesn’t have infinite replay value, but it’s close. The missions are just varied enough and blend the right amount of rpg elements into them that most stay fun, as opposed to WC2 where it’s totally formulaic and dependent on hooking you into the (loose) narrative. WC3 is easily in the top 5 of my most replayed games over the greatest number of years.
>WC3 doesn’t have infinite replay value, but it’s close
and AoE does? LMAO. you can make your own fricking game in WC3 world editor. custom scenarios are endless. what are you smoking?
for me is anno 1602
slow down anon, that's too much based in one post.
playing it right now. im at the NINA campaigns 10 more levels to go and im done. Frick Delsusion of Grandeur and The Continent....
I'd rather play WarCraft 3 and Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance.
I will never get over Age of Empires II having no Charlemagne campaign.
I will post about it every time the game is mentioned.
I will not stop.
it's okay because games based on real world history are gay and lame anyway
That’s because they rarely make games based on the interesting chapters in history and when they do, they go out of their way to make those periods feel as generic as possible.
Infinite replay value
>D2
Probably.
>AoE2
No.
I'd suggest the pic for that purpose.
add me and play d2 with me then b***h ass mufricka
you wont
Once you understand the core of character building in d2 they all sort of feel the same. All casters and martial classes prioritize gear/stat/skills more or less the same. That covers the rpg aspect. And the action aspect was never something which took much mastery because you have access to endless healing. And the environments/story is always the same. Do you really want to spend the rest of your life going through the4 same places and same story over and over?
I'm sure ao2 is the same.
AoE2 has endless replayability if you play Multiplayer. It's the best RTS and one of the best MP games ever.
Brood War has far better racial differences, a better campaign, and more competitive multiplayer plus plenty of UMS maps for variety. AoE2 never took off in comparison because it's just so bland and samey and has balance issues.
You are clueless since you've never played enough of both games. So please refrain from sharing your opinion.
I've played both, you're just moronic and have offered no explanation for why Brood War has been consistently far more popular, even capturing the heart of an entire nation, while AoE2 fell off the face of the planet until the remaster came out in 2013 or whenever it was and reignited interest with the DOOS BULT LARPer crowd.
Aoe2 lacked any QoL features and was extra janky and is still janky, but the strategic situations are always different and rich. Plus it has a good map generator. The civ differences are very small, yet due to the game's nature, they dictate the flow of the game. SC1 leans heavily into micro, while macro and economy are on the background. Custom maps are better and more varied, I'll give you that.
Infinite replay value too
None of you understand the concept of infinite.
I agree Age of Empires II has great replayability. As for Diablo 2 I have no opinion on it as I have never played it
Only game I found truly replayability is Might and Magic VII.
Nearly 10^7 different parties.
