I honestly believe the current PS fanbase have no interest in these sorts of games. The push for movie realism cemented the view of Playstation.
no it just means the public hasnt really changed we were kids back then we are adults now and they are targeting specifically us
do you actually believe zoomers give a single flying frick for fore emblem or pokemon lmfao
id argue they barely play vydia
No one cares about fire emblem anon, but pokemon is always popular with both children and adults. I just came from a con and they had a section for the pokemon card game. The line wrapped around the booth and it was full of children and their parents waiting to get in. Pokemon always seems to appeal to people
>do you actually believe zoomers give a single flying frick for fore emblem
it's nintendo's third biggest waifugay franchise after pokemon and splatoon
Pretty sure FE sells very well in JP, and has a good following in the states too. Never played any but
Spats.
Saya.
Does any autist actually read through all those monkey profiles?
they are half the fun anon
How would you meaningfully improve and evolve the gameplay to make an Ape Escape 4
These games at the end of the day were made to shill analogue sticks so I almost understand why they stopped making them when Sony stopped iterating on the DS features for two generations.
Now would be the time to make one that uses Dualsense features for the gadgets but Astrobot already ate their lunch on that.
Monkey radar uses haptic feedback and rumbles specific parts of the controller which tells you what direction the monkeys are
PS move
>evolve the gameplay
People don't give a frick about gameplay, see Mario Odyssey.
Put all your resources into funny environmental storytelling, see
Mario Odyssey has the most complex movement in 3d games though
and yet they don't use it for good challenges and people are fine with this
>make 3 good games with simple, fun concept
>go to california
>completely stop
Big Mission is fairly similar gameplaywise. It’s even a sequel to 3, so when I played it earlier this year, I had a nice feeling of continuation.
not really? you possess monkeys or whatever
Sure, but the actual gameplay feels like an Ape Escape game, just interpreted differently. Some of the mechanics, like the whip, or the fire, are something I could see in an Ape Escape game. It’s different, but feels alike to the mainline games, especially compared to the other spinoffs.
I should really play ape escape 3 on my SteamDeck already
anyone played this?
is that the one where you vacuum pants?
That was Piposaru 2001
Me. It gets really fricking hard later on if you don't get good gear.
>complete game
>get all monkeys
>Would you like to try Time Trials now?
>no Ape Escape games to show off the Sixaxis, Vita hardware, Dualshock 4, or Dualsense
They would do so much fun stuff with the dual sense.
I want a new game like you wouldn't believe. Like a REAL game though. The series was very unique in the way it controlled, for better or worse. I really think a new game could do a lot with the dual sense or even psvr2. Also Pink best monkey
what were they thinking?
Groovey.
They should get the astrobot devs do make a reboot, the gimmicks they used with the dualsense were pretty cool, i can see them doing something cool with ape escape
I don't even want to imagine what an Ape Escape by modern Sony would look like.
SARU
SARU
SARU SARU SARU
why is she blapnck
Spector wanted them to know what it was like.
>ape escape but you are monkeys hunting other monkeys
kino
Pretty cute.
My only complaint is having to spin the right stick to make the gyro and hula hoop work, especially the gyro.
So many deaths because of that stupid decision. Just make it a button
Name a level/theme that hasnt been done in the series yet
Internet. Just set it in a Win98-like environment and have apes parodying early memes like the dancing baby.
this except don't stay with win 98, go from nerdy college usenet level as tutorial stage and through the eras and locales of the internet, through forums, chans, twittergrams, and all the way into the future of internet filled with mostly bots. maybe similar to how the first game is structured, 3 levels per era.
>3 good games
No I think you mean 2 good games and one mediocre disappointing game.
the only bad thing about 2 is music tbh.
The monkeys artstyle is a little fricked too, and the levels aren't really fun. 3 is the best. Also it has Yumi/Sayaka so it's no contest
The only franchise, that can even theoretically make me consider buying new shitty sony consoles
Who cares just post Sayaka
Ganker doesn't care about her anymore
What would Specter's plan be this time? Bit of a sliding scale down for his plans as the games went on
>AE1; Using time travel to rewrite history
>AE2; Fire a laser at the planet making humans lazy
>AE3; Use tv... to make people lazy
Fun games for sure, but come on Specter, you gotta go big.
Turn people into stupid apes and give them pipo helmets to smarten up while remaining loyal to him?
Instead of catching apes we catch humans turned into slave apes?
to be fair, specter's true plan at the end of 3 was to chop the planet in half so one side would be dominated by the apes.
