Like they're shit even by classic dungeon crawler standards. That style of gameplay was perfected with Strange Journey and there's no reason to go back.
Ideal remakes would keep the dungeon crawling but make it good, but the Strange Journey team went full moron and made TMS and SH2 so I have no hope. P1/P2 would probably be turned into P3 clones and lose all their soul.

Also oddly enough their fusion systems are nothing like mainline SMT, for the worse. Some dumb card bullshit. Somehow Persona 5 has the most faithful demon recruitment and fusion systems.
You didn't played the games. The story of P1 is put together with 20 lines of text and still have space to make "le cringe anime jokes". The "muh dark" atmosphere is only scary if you think Lavender Town is the pinacle of horror.

It was honestly just an inconvenience that ended up with you defaulting to a single one-size-fits-all layout for your party on the grid and spamming ma- skills which weren't effected by range. A pure time waster that frustrated me way more than IS or EP's combat, although those games have their own combat issues.

There's no way you can copy 3-5's gameplay and add them too 1 and 2. Everything in 1 and 2 happens in a single day so calendar system and social links would be out of the question. You'd need a full blown sequel instead a 1 and 2 remake. Would be interesting having older P1 and 2 characters, persona but with adults.

As much as I like P3, I think this scene is where Persona peaked. I don't know if we'll ever get something this wild ever again.
Haven’t played this yet, waiting on the ps1 JP version to get its english fan translation. The psp port looks like the epitome of soulless
They ran out of remakes and re-releases so this is definitely next.
