It used to be 8 fricken quests before you got the quest for the actual athena chest! And you usually got any loot unrelated to the athena shit when you dug at one of the locations. Even with 3 quests it's still too much man, let me just go and get athena chests. Why waste my time so much and expect me to play this shit? It's dead
Like, why add obstacles inbetween the fun I actually want to have in the game? It's stupid as frick game design, absolutely moronic. Oh same, in fact the sailing in general was fantastic. There was a skeleton of a good game there when I first played so the hope was that they'd fill it out over time, then I went back the other year and they'd added mermaids or some shit while leaving the core as bare as ever
Yeah, they needed to add a lot more variety in PvE encounters before they added the PvE only mode. Can only fight megalodons, ghost ships, and skeleton crews so many times since they're all relatively simple.
Honestly the PvE only mode would've been fine if it was just an offline mode. At least then it'd have a real purpose. It may get tiring doing it over and over, but the ship combat is good enough that every once in a while shooting at skeleships is still good fun.

No, I mean I will juke between rocks during a chase and hide my loot in the water one chest at a time so that by the time they either catch me or I disappear, there is no loot left to recover.
I can appreciate the attempt, though every time someone has tried that on me we had no problem just harpooning all the loot they through over.
Or you could just, you know, fight and keep your loot.

Nah I'm not fighting two Black folk when I'm alone. Occasionally I win even when boarding the pursuer's ship to drop their anchor, but I'd rather make it an unpleasant waste of time for both of us rather than just me.

I would just go loop to islands and sell the loot one by one. Never not sold everything and I took over 2hours before to sell it all

If you pulled that off then the people chasing weren't very good, so you earned it. The whole ethos of the game is "tools not rules", so however you get your loot sold is fair game.

Its not hard I will go to an island to sell that are against the wind if playing 2 player ship and go to islands to sell that are with the wind if playing 3-4 player ship. You will never be able to catch me and I will stay at a distance from you. Also jumping off the back and trying to anchor helps
I wanted to play again but I own the PC version so it’s pretty grim.
PC version is full of try hard pvp on sight gays or cheaters who are literally dropping kegs on you from above by teleporting.
I really need an Xbox and turn off crossplay just to have some fun.
There used to be a hack where you could teleport and people would use it to drop kegs. But I haven't seen it in ages so I'm pretty sure it no longer works.

It's pretty 50/50, which is how it needs to be. Real pirates like myself need people who like doing PvE so we have stuff to steal.

A fight is what I wanted. Loot is secondary. Missed out on getting their Emissary flag too though.
Dive = they went to a PvP match where they can't leave until they win or lose
