It was a terrible fricking game and I was stupid enough to buy it twice. First when it got released on PS4 and then a "royal edition" when it came to PC.
Glad I dodged the bullet with XVI. Frick Square and frick their nuFF slop.
XV has a shitty cast besides the bros, shitty Shitmomura OST and just outposts instead of towns. It’s not better than anything. XVI is not better than Snes/PS1 titles but it’s much better than the crap we got since XIII, sorry.
Yeah reality is the FF16 user score keeps rising because it's been only few hours since user scores opened.
While XV score won't change at all and it will be always remembered as shit game.
the thing that convinced me to buy a PS4 and try XV was Dunkey's review, when he talked about the long stretches where your party is simply silently in each other's company in this massive beautiful fantasy world
and he was right, it's such a fricking immersive and beautiful game. yes the textures look fricking awful in some spots of landscape (the desert where you start mainly). yes the gameplay is hold O to win. yes the story had obvious holes
but frick. warp strikes never got old. the soundtrack is fricking great. and that ending is the first time since X that an FF game stuck the landing at the end.
one of my favorite FF games and a personal favorite game

Holy cope

That's hilarious. Why do anons even try to argue game quality using review scores anyway? Nobody actually trusts them
Are you a fricking moron?
FF15 wasn't this controversial, yet you guys are going ape shit at the simplest of nitpicks on the game
You guys end up calling every single person Barry has a defense reflex but in reality FF16 is just dog shit

It's unironically one of the only FF games I like, they catered it to "western audiences" and I just so happen to like road trips and hate turn based games, so it worked out in my case. It goes downhill 3/4 the way through when it just turns into one long dungeon crawl however
this is the homosexual who thought cyberpunk 2077 was a masterpiece btw
he has no idea what he's talking about when it comes to vidya and reminds me of angry joe
BARRY BARRY BARRY BARRY BARRY BARRY BARRY BARRY
BARRY BARRY BARRY BARRY BARRY BARRY BARRY BARRY
BARRY BARRY BARRY BARRY BARRY BARRY BARRY BARRY
BARRY BARRY BARRY BARRY BARRY BARRY BARRY BARRY
Why? Its original release was absolute trash, it deserved it at the time. Royal Edition is good, though.
If 15 was created with the sensibilities and combat of 16, it would've been S-tier. Instead it's just a solid B-tier after Royal Edition.
>it was always... le bad
When did people here start saying this for literally everything? have another (you) that you can add to your little Ganker bukkake
yeah this is the difference
people who like XV are pretty candid that they get the issues, ever since it released. it's a bizarre kind of appeal
people who like XVI (prob because of recency) are horribly irrational and defensive
I wouldn't even go so far to call 16 bad, it's a good game by most metrics, plays well, presentation's on point, pretty, and it's complete. I think the script and characters are decent at best but even putting that aside, I can admit that it's an actual solid, good, complete product.
I know XV's by all metrics is the worse product, the worse game, but I still like it more. And this is also putting into account the instilled bitterness from it not being Versus.
I still can't place it either, the only thing I can pinpoint is that playing XVI, while it having some really cool, adrenaline pumping setpieces, never really "got" me as close as that final campfire scene with the party.
I know it doesn't make sense to just discount a game just for that, but it feels weird still. I guess I also like Shimomura way more than I do Soken, but not like XV did a great job utilizing her either. I don't know
I think Dunkey's review of XV said "but it is a fun game though, albeit a deeply flawed experience" which pretty much sums it up. I think people are just now coming to terms with the fact that XVI just isn't a fun game.
I mean, XVI's like still fun, the setpieces are legitimately fricking great and it does feel good to press buttons as Clive.
It's just that it doesn't like, engender any more emotions other than "oh that's really cool" or "oh beating up this thing feels sick"
Feels like there should be more, esp. with how hard they're obviously trying, but it just isn't connecting with me, least not completely.
Because FFXV was still made with the soul of a Final Fantasy game, just unfortunately born into a deformed body thanks to marketing homosexuals pushing for an action game. FFXVI is way more polished, having been created to the specifications of the marketing gays and put together specifically to harness maximum western shekels. It does not possess the soul of a FF game.
I'm not even that type of guy, like frick, I like the nu-GOWs quite a bit, I'm fine with some western AAA slowness every once in a while.
I was excited for this and I wanted to like it, and I played XIV all the way to EW too, so it's not like I was unfamiliar with BD3's work.
I'm just a bit bummed it turned out this way is all.
>I'm just a bit bummed it turned out this way is all.
Me too anon, I'm just pissed there's not enough depth to any aspect of the game to get stuck into, not even the illusion of it. Whoever this game was made for and thinks it's a legit 10/10 well I hope I never have to meet them.
XV is bad. They should be ashamed of how incomplete the storytelling is in that game. But I had fun with it, even liked dicking around the "open world" exploring and doing quests.
XVI so far isn't doing anything for me. There isn't any singularly bad thing I can point to (other than maybe how shallow the character system is), but there's nothing that's grabbed me so far other than the story.
Because FFXV was still made with the soul of a Final Fantasy game, just unfortunately born into a deformed body thanks to marketing homosexuals pushing for an action game. >I know XV's by all metrics is the worse product, the worse game
Don't be a gay, there's no such thing as "better" or "worse". There's your opinion and nothing more.
If you like XV more then it's the better game to you. It's all subjective.
XV is bad. They should be ashamed of how incomplete the storytelling is in that game. But I had fun with it, even liked dicking around the "open world" exploring and doing quests.

It's not that you don't know, you instinctively feel it and know it. It's just that you can't put a word on it. And that word is unironically the concept known as "soul".
The whole brotrip thing got old after about 2 hours and the map is nothing but gas stations
I feel like 13 and 16 eventually got better as you go but it's the exact opposite for 15
eh, I feel like 15 starts and ends really strong, but 16 is a more consistently "better" experience, until the pacing grinds to a halt after Typhon.
And even then, it never gets as low as XV's lows.
starting by pushing a car after a pointless flash forward spoiler boss fight is fricking moronic and the ending is extremely predictable
the original intended invasion intro from Versus XIII was vastly superior
Yeah, probably, giving that to Aaron Paul is still fricking moronic, but the car pushing intro and the game actually ending with the same emotional bit is pretty strong still I think.
I don't mind a bit of predictability either, I enjoy being surprised, but I don't like being punked for the sake of being punked as well.
I just think it hits better than fricking Frodo writing the Lord of The Rings, or I guess in this case, fricking Sam writing ASOIAF.
>the original intended invasion intro from Versus XIII was vastly superior
It bothers me that Versus actually got hate on Twitter for being a very 'dark emo Nomura cringe' story. People seem to like that XV had hardly any story at all and whatever story there was was just 'comfy feels'.
I am more interested in playing XV than XVI, I avoided it because it looked bad but since I got a copy of XV Royal for free from PS+ it wouldn’t kill me to at least try it.
>most generic medieval fantasy shit one can imagine >moronic RULE OF COOL shit straight out of the AC movies >the game is a 10/10 when it comes to presentation and style
yeah nah
>There are creatures that cleared through XV and view XVI as worse
I mean I can give you some of the music sure but surely you can't be serious to the point that you are simply saying these things in jest right?
The gulf between the two's gameplay is so massive it's like comparing Gone Home to Earth Defense Force, where as one simply has no gameplay to speak of and the other does.
FF15's combat is the most schizophrenic thing I've ever experienced in my life. It's so fricking bad and all over the place it could be its own entire genre.
I bet whoever designed it was on crack the whole time.
If you play Duscae the quality is night and day. The one person who designed the battle system for that game was the last of the Nomura devs to leave. He led KH2's battle system design.
Damn that looks cool, I just started playing and finished the tutorial it reminds me of Dragon’s Dogma with the triggers changing the moves. Playing the XVI demo has apparently made moronic so it’s oddly challenging to comprehend.
Doing air combo in XV is not easy as it looks though. The game never actually explains how airstep works, you have to figure it out on your own like JC tech in DMC games
is it finished yet? does it have permanent female characters yet? turn based combat yet? did they add a story yet? did they put the anime, movie, novel, phone game and other materials IN THE GAME yet? who the frick is jared? why are you barry?
XV is legitimately better in practically every single way it's unreal, still the best ending. The only thing XVI has over it is more polished cutscenes and that's only because XVI had 2x longer dev time, all the cutscenes in XV only stared getting made in 2013 at earliest.
Yoshi-P cultists deserve everyone an apology for shilling XVI so hard yet XVI cant even outsell Super Mario RPG on Amazon.
SE still havn't announced FFXVI sales yet so you knew it did poorly.
ff15 and ff7r can finally have positive talks without being called a shill
Shows how much ff is still liked even during low hours
Even the ff14 hate is moronic since you are admitting you played more than 500 hours
I feel most of the Square enix hate is too forced. They are not perfect, they could be better, but in the end they make fun games
The same will happen with ff16
>no party >no castable magic >no status magic >no build customization >no equipment variety >3 stats >no itemization
how the frick can shills defend this?
So far I have not seen anything iconic in the game that will he remembered for years. Even XIII and XV had that. Also OST is forgetable for a mainline game.
off the top of my head I'd say lesbian bikes, lightning flipping through the train car, and maaaaybe the scene where they're all flying on the... something.
oh shit i'm sorry
sorry for what
sorry for what? My dad taught be not to be embarrassed of our taste in video games
sorry for not shitting on this garbage game more
AIEEEE I KNEEL BARRY-SAMA
I'm sorry this game required something like 16 to be made
It was a terrible fricking game and I was stupid enough to buy it twice. First when it got released on PS4 and then a "royal edition" when it came to PC.
Glad I dodged the bullet with XVI. Frick Square and frick their nuFF slop.
Why the frick did you buy it twice if you didn't like it the first time?
hell no lmao
xvi has it's flaws but it's still much better overall
>xvi has it's flaws but it's still much better overall
It has a functional combat system, but it's much worse in every other respect.
>It has a functional combat system
True.

False.
Keep coping.
Amazing fight.
>it's much worse in every other respect
braindead take
probably because he hasn't actually played 16 like the majority of Ganker
XV has a shitty cast besides the bros, shitty Shitmomura OST and just outposts instead of towns. It’s not better than anything. XVI is not better than Snes/PS1 titles but it’s much better than the crap we got since XIII, sorry.

Frick you it's not only great, it's also the best part of XV.
gomenasai
xvi-kun lost
>Barry is back with another schizo collage
its a Yoshida fanboy who caught barrys schizophrenia
How's it a schizo collage when it's reflective of reality?
Yeah reality is the FF16 user score keeps rising because it's been only few hours since user scores opened.
While XV score won't change at all and it will be always remembered as shit game.
And the critic score keeps dropping
It was 88 and it's still 88.
Where is the drop?
Didn't it open at 91?
For like 2 minutes when the reviews came in fresh
because people like and trust critics on Ganker, that's right.
literal cope
I'll take critics over people like

Who cares?
Honest question, how does XV have a good score at all?
16bros why does it keep going down... yesterday it was at 94 now it's 88, people are turning on our game...
OH NONONONO ITS RISING QUICK CREATE ACCOUNTS AND SPAM 0/10 QUICKLYYY
pcgays are the worst

A fricking
88
Congrats

here
Crisis Core is better than anything Yoshi P has ever done or will do.

Hahahaha, gold has struck

From what universe do you come from
It’s not dogshit at all. Sour grapes shit. Just like the snots will do when starfield comes out.
16 turned out a million times better than I thought it would. Pretty much exactly how I feel about 7r.
No. FFXVI absolutely shits all over it.
I completely skipped this one. What was it about?
4 chads on a roadtrip and main villain is the antichrist and the only good villain since sephiroth
the thing that convinced me to buy a PS4 and try XV was Dunkey's review, when he talked about the long stretches where your party is simply silently in each other's company in this massive beautiful fantasy world

one of my favorite FF games and a personal favorite game
>the thing that convinced me to buy a PS4 and try XV was Dunkey's review
People like this are still probably higher iq than Barry
Why the frick would you ever take Dunkey's recommendation for a RPG? He has said on numerous occasions how much he hates them.
Do we know what Dunkey liked about 15? I know he didn't like 7R but I don't know what he did/didn't like about it.
>Dunkey
Maybe I'm dumb but I genuinely don't get what people like about him
Link strikes were cool
It's unironically one of the only FF games I like, they catered it to "western audiences" and I just so happen to like road trips and hate turn based games, so it worked out in my case. It goes downhill 3/4 the way through when it just turns into one long dungeon crawl however
>catered to western audiences
>main party is a J-pop boy band
what
No, I don't think I will
I like 15, it's at least fun bursts, but I think 16 is more focused and therefore better.
It's still the 3rd worst FF game (After 13 and 10).
Its over
Literally who?
>Literally who?
Skill up
I've never seen another person with such schizo taste in games than shillup

shame that boss fight is just more Holding O
>less floaty than FFXVI btw
and that's a good thing
>Literally who?
someone that said something about XVI so Barry is licking his boots
I'm sorry I ever got baited into giving FF a chance after XIII. Fool me twice, shame on me
FF15 has branching dialogue that affects the outcome of the story.
Why? Its original release was absolute trash, it deserved it at the time. Royal Edition is good, though.
If 15 was created with the sensibilities and combat of 16, it would've been S-tier. Instead it's just a solid B-tier after Royal Edition.
I'm glad we can move on
I apologize to myself for wasting my time and money on this early access piece of shit game with garbage combat
less floaty than FFXVI btw
FF was always garbage, not just 15 or 16
>hold X to win meme
You should go tell Gamefaqs about that prizewinning strategy
>cherrypick webm made to distract from XV being Hold O to win casual shit
nice try, Barry
>it was always... le bad

this game fun honestly after all the patches updates?
yeah it's fun, but the DLCs are kinda shit
Still shit, unfortunately. At least it's better than It was before
it's better. I'd still be remiss to call it good, but I still like some bits off of it.
I have to force myself to play 15. At least 16 is implicitly enjoyable.
XVI isn't even remotely an RPG. What an embarrassment
I'm sorry you had the most autistic man in the world latch onto you XV. You're garbage but even you didn't deserve that
>Shitty game is mediocue now because newer game is shitter
What the hell is this?
Zelda cycle??
In 15, equipping your """party members"""" and yourself with gear targeting specific stats didn't not change the gameplay one fricking iota.
I refuse to apologize to anything fellated by Barry but I will say this, you're at least better than XVI.
Apologize for what? Game was a fricking mess in literally every aspect.
So Ganker, What picture did you choose to end your game with? I wanted Luna to see the best cup noodles I'd ever eaten.
That's cute and all but I try not to meme free advertising when I can help it. Just a thought anon.
That's fair. If I ever play again I'll choose A picture of Cindys fat breasts because handing that to Luna at the end of the game sounds hilarious.
Much better
My pic with best bro, of course.
Noctis in the Cup O'Noodles hat
There is no recovering this. FF is dead. I had hope, but the game is nothing impressive.
>Comfy roadtrip
>Actual party members
>No sex scene involving a troony Kaguya main villain
I-I'm thinking about hopping in, bros...
Hey bros, wait for me

Im sorry Nomura didn't die before shitting this out
Why is Ganker always complaining about ff when years later those ff games get praised later
I didn't dislike this one it's flawed and boring at times but it has an open world airships fishing mini games and feels like a final fantasy game.
>people on Ganker are pretending that XV is better than XVI
>In any way
Typical. I'm 34 hours in and this is the best, most fleshed out Final Fantasy since X. XV was a travisty
16 shits all over this game. Not even.
The first 20 hours of 16 completely obliterate this rushed trashfire.
XV is legitimately better in practically every single way it's unreal, still the best ending. The only thing XVI has over it is more polished cutscenes and that's only because XVI had 2x longer dev time, all the cutscenes in XV only stared getting made in 2013 at earliest.

not a real ff
Yes square should apologise for releasing that trash.
I apologize
Get fricked, Barry. XV is a piece of shit
this game is a joke. 77 hours to 100%? that's like actually nothing for a AAA rpg lol. literally FF9 is longer
This thread convinced me to get ff16, ff is always hated then loved later, happened with ff15 too
Do it, it's pretty fun
ff15 and ff7r can finally have positive talks without being called a shill
Shows how much ff is still liked even during low hours
Even the ff14 hate is moronic since you are admitting you played more than 500 hours
I feel most of the Square enix hate is too forced. They are not perfect, they could be better, but in the end they make fun games
The same will happen with ff16
Just because 16 is the shittiest FF ever does not mean that 15 is any less shit than it was.
>no party
>no castable magic
>no status magic
>no build customization
>no equipment variety
>3 stats
>no itemization
how the frick can shills defend this?
XV was never as bad as people made it out to be. The second half was a slog but the ending made me cry
Oh, see, how it's good. Every. Single. Time. goyim are very easy to predict.
The most underrated game in history. Masterpiece.
Nah it's still shit dude. That won't change anytime soon.
Atleast the soundtrack is SSS tier.
XV had way more enjoyable threads than XVI, at least, but that's more to do with Ganker in general declining over the years.
Anytime Barry gets banned the thread quality goes up considerably.
Is it true the ending of 16 is it was all a dream or was that just Ganker shitposting?
It is true, but you will simply believe I am shitposting too. Just look at how the XVIBlack folk are begging for DLC now.
Weird choice to make for a game that's apparantly full of background lore. Why would anyone bother getting into the lore if it's all fake?
MMO devs = MMO quality is probably the answer. Who knows what they were thinking.
Worse than XVI you lost
I'm quarantined with covid so I was gonna pirate this and finally give it a shot. Is it not even worth a pirate?
So far I have not seen anything iconic in the game that will he remembered for years. Even XIII and XV had that. Also OST is forgetable for a mainline game.
what would you consider XIII's iconic scenes?
off the top of my head I'd say lesbian bikes, lightning flipping through the train car, and maaaaybe the scene where they're all flying on the... something.
Not a scene but XIII introduced the stupid stagger system to the franchise that is still prevalent even now.
huh, for some reason I hallucinated the word scene in the post above
I need to sleep
At least Yoko Shimomura did a great score
