Even FF8, which played out like 90210 with gunblades still had lots of FF-centric features we expect from it. FF13, 14, and 15 stray away far too much. I include 14 cause it's still a mmo so I dont count it close to the mainline games. Plus it and 12 play too much like mmos and is likely when all the shit started (notice how this is all post X).
