>Appear out of nowhere on Newgrounds.
>Get recognized by microsoft and fricking nintendo.
>"We want your shit on our consoles"
>Wii falls out, whoops.
>Screw it, let's put it on PC and 360.
>Fast forward years later.
>Your programmer now only sees you as a cash cow and wants to milk you for all you are worth. Making shitty sequels, spin offs, and all.
>Yet despite all this milking, your original game is still held up as one of the best indies of all time.
The frick is his secret?

The programmer is the bald guy in the documentary? What has he been up to?
OP, you accidentally posted Meatboy and not Isaac.
Isaac died with the 500th remake
>t. i don't know what i'm talking about
>FLOPsaac
Nobody enjoys that game.
>t. 500 hours
>wants to milk you for all you are worth
hot...
>>Yet despite all this milking, your original game is still held up as one of the best indies of all time.
What does this sentence even mean? Do people magically hate a game cause it has shit sequels? Has any piece of media been hated for it's sequels? If so then
>Duke Nukem
>Doom
>Tomb Raider
>Aliens
>Sonic
>Mega Man
Are garbage series
I don't understand. You actually did list a bunch of garbage?
>Do people magically hate a game cause it has shit sequels? Has any piece of media been hated for it's sequels?
Yes, bad sequels always spawn a wave of contrarianism and people that never played the series to say "akshually, [series] was never good"
Congratulations on doing the most predictable ever
I want to know what he means by super meat boy being one of the best indies of all time. Isaac had far greater influence on the industry and was more original. In the end SMB didn't do anything N already did.
>In the end SMB didn't do anything N already did.
i'm struggling to come up with anything to respond to this with
i think you're mostly correct, but N feels more like a whitepaper to me
like a blueprint on how to make a platformer
then ed and tommy came along, followed it, and ended up making something amazing with it
we would not have the super meat boy that we know without N doing it first though
What you are thinking of is iteration. Without N, like you said, Meat Boy wouldnt have the building blocks to go off of, but Meat Boy iterated on what N did nigh perfectly to create some of the best 2D platformer levels known to man.
that's a very fair assessment anon i agree
He's a Pole, so he's based. That's his secret.
He donated to BLM
>He's a Pole, so he's based
Kek u wish, subhuman
hehe xd
>every generation from here on will grow up without flash sites, flash culture and games
It's still weird to think about
moron. Kids still play flash games in school computer classes.
It's not the same and you know it
But only “safe” and “trendy” games that israelitetubers like Reddit guy mask play.
Zoomies wouldn't ever learn something like flash to make games, they are talentless hacks.
Meh. Shockwave was better in the long-term and that was way more difficult to learn.
I hope Super Meat Boy eventually makes it back into Eddy's hands. Say what you will about Steakmund, but if without him what we get is "Super Meat Boy Forever" then the series is as good as dead.
>Edmund McMillan
>His early flash games about dead babies
God I miss edgelord early internet
isaac has had massive influence on game design in general, and to this day, super meat boy is still probably the best 2d platformer ever made, the only thing that even remotely compares to it imho is super mario maker. BoI and super meat boy are some of the most important games ever made
there is no secret, edmund just has the vision
something most modern devs are lacking
i also have the vision so i know what i'm talking about
oh cool what games have you made, maybe ive played on?
not yet
You and me both bro, we have the vision.
glad to hear it
i hope your dream comes true
>Get recognized by microsoft and fricking nintendo.
Lmao super meat boy got infamously shafted by microsoft over a bunch of games with flashier graphics.
