VR will never be mainstream because nobody wants to put shit on their head. it's uncomfortable and exhausting.

      it's not for videogames

Yeah, Carmack said something along those lines, like that even if VR is as easy as putting on sunglasses, that doesn't make it as accessible as just grabbing your phone. VR and AR has a potential to replace smart phones, but to actually get there it would have to be as easy or easier than using a modern smart phone which it isn't anywhere close to now

        >which it isn't anywhere close to now
        it's not that far away

this + better fov + better software and it'll already be able to replace phones and tvs for many people

Don't trust these shitty chinese product ads, nothing on israelitetube is real or organic anymore. Everything is a paid ad and they don't talk about the many many many problems these products have. I got gipped by the dpvr E4, it's almost unuseable and they keep changing the driver software on the daily. It's like they gave an intern the job to keep fricking around with it.

Also those glasses don't seem to have any sort of tracking, it's nauseating as frick when a display moves with your head instead of staying in place like you expect.

I never said they were perfect, but it's not something far off, a few more editions and it'll be decent

            >Also those glasses don't seem to have any sort of tracking, it's nauseating as frick when a display moves with your head instead of staying in place like you expect.
like I said, they need software to make them usable
            like this

expect samsung to make their own glasses to compete with apple and they'll wipe the floor with today's smart glasses

I need the hinge. It wouldn't be so bad if they didn't keep fricking with the software and pushing updates you have no control over, it was actually working pretty good a week ago.

No developer would get involved with propitiatory hardware made by Apple. They would no doubt lose their IP in some weird contract.

that's not the reason, unreal and unity both work on visionpro, they could easily make games for it if they want
the issue is that the system simply isn't designed with gaming in mind
there's no controllers and we haven't seen anything like hand tracking for the vision pro, it severely limits vr gaming options, how would a basic vr game like moss work on visionpro?

gaming has never been a priority for apple, and I don't see that changing, gamedevs are not guaranteed sales from a majority non gaming audience, especially when the unit is $3k, you're just not going to get many sales to make development of anything complex worth it

there's really no real benefit to making a game for visionpro, when it would work as well in pcvr/quest/psvr2 which have vastly more potential customers

VR will always be shit because you need to convince mouthbreather consolegays with a 50 pages bulletpoint of games worth playing.
It's fine right where it's at, being a enthusiast hobby similar to late 90's and early 2000's PC gaming.
Yes you're a spirital consolegay with your 500$-tier PC playing triple A slops at 1080p. You homosexuals have been destroying PC gaming for more than a decade now.

Consoles are only nice if you play single player RPG games. All good multiplayer games are on PC, and all competitive games are played via a PC. It’s no surprise EVO was all PC. Sure though, it’s superior bro.

          >multiplayer games
where's your smash brothers or mario kart? oh you dont have one lolololol

          >and all competitive games are played via a PC
so? all of those series started on consoles
people only play the PC versions cause they run better than the console versions, but the design of those games are still unmistakenly console oriented and it's obvious the devs still care about console more

games designed for PC first are always lame
always some east european game about suffering in an east european shithole with ugly menus, janky animations and buggy gameplay
just described 99% of PC games and you know I am right

pcs still wouldn't have a decent controller if not for consoles

vr is worth it if you like games that try new things and 3d movies
