2 fricking sucked so bad coming from 1. If I remember right, 2 didn't let you have unlimited continues like 1 did on N64, and I didn't care about getting good - I just wanted to smash buildings and shit. 2 was also soulless compared to 1 in all ways, from graphics to music to presentation.
The only things I remember from 2 outside of the new Mouse character was the fact you could go to space and unlock an alien kaiju.
I honestly had so much fricking fun with Rampage World Tour and Universal Tour both as a little kid. I bet they are objectively shit to today's standards but for quick arcade games that let you destroy cities and eat people as giant monsters, they definitely scratched an itch. Shame there aren't any modern day interpretations of giant monster destroy city gameplay like games outside of kaiju fighting games like War of the Monsters and GigaBash.
Yeah, 2 not having infinite continues made it a lot less fun to play. Rampage isn't really a fun game if you try to play it without taking damage. I couldn't tell you how many times I sat down with two buddies and played through World Tour as a teen and just completed the whole game in one sitting, but I could tell you that it happened zero times with Universal Tour.
This was the best Rampage game because it gave you the most monsters and content to destroy buildings with. Everyone else is just being a contrarian boomer. Old Rampage is boring and the novelty of the """""soulful""""" graphics wears off after a few stages.
I know time constraints and all but I wished they showed how some of the monsters looked in like when they were human, Total Destruction opened with George's human form after all
I've always wondered what kind of person rampage games appeal to.
Wow. Slowly climb a building. Punch. Climb down. Punch. Repeat for 5 buildings then get the epic high score!!
It's so monotonous
Played a lot of the Master System version when my friends would come over. Usually we'd start cooperative and then over time it would devolve into king of the tallest building on the map.
>Are any of the [...] Rampage games good?
No.
What about Pawperty Damage? OwO

I never played any Rampage games but playing big monsters should be an instant selling point!

Reminder that 90% of these are actually mutated people
Yeah I remember finding out that I was playing as a naked chick after mutating back and I felt very uncomfortable
I know time constraints and all but I wished they showed how some of the monsters looked in like when they were human, Total Destruction opened with George's human form after all
Thats hot!
i remember this PS2 game being fun but very repetitive
Holy frick I forgot about these models holy fvcking sovl` bvttman
No, even Universal 2 arguably isn't good.
They released Rampage Through Time the very next year, so if you Like Universal Tour, you'll probably like Through Time.
Is true that the game force you play alongside a character controlled by an AI if you're playing alone?
Rampage through time was also shit.
Only world tour was good
>Through Time
>Universal Tour
I always get these 2 confused because they're completely identical except for like 2 background changes.
Redpill me on this series.
I love kaijus but somehow I never played any Rampage game
Break shit.
here's your redpill
