I have come to the realization that Gacha games are about to get even more garbage than they already are. I thought that its bad already with FGO rates and then comes Mihoyo and sets new standards. I feel like the "new generation" who grew up with not BOTW and Starrail will find it acceptable to have rates for 4 stars be what rates for 5 stars used to be. I won't be shocked if they will make 5 stars be exclusive to premium bought currency or something and the players will be ok with it. People actually save for months just to get one character. It's shocking how bad Honkai has it right now. I don't even understand why they keep sending mails with "rewards" that are just common ingame currency for things they actually call events. How is it possible to have only 1 5 star after 10-15 hours in this game is shocking..and then i checked the rates and their reddit page. Apparently people hoard currency for 80-90 rolls months beforehand just to have a chance at a character. Even in NIkke i get more shit than here.

The worse part is when you are required to be active in Blue Archive (Move/Cover) due towards how few units even have systems in play to work with such, and what little direct control you have to get units to do what you want (Put down a healthpack to make a unit move out of the way but UHOH a different unit farther away decided they wanted it instead so they go after it and the unit you wanted to move gets fricked up by the AoE). Nikkie's the same way where if auto doesn't carry you past shit, what little input you can give isn't going to make up the difference. Arknights at least works within the medium of being a phone based game asking for your input, even if I feel like it's take on 'auto' is shit all and barely works half the time and still requires you to just redo stages over far too much for resources (That and too much of a unit feels make or break based off of number of dupes lowering deployment costs)

This is actually around 5-7 minutes tops for sure since it has sweep. Only reason it takes 5+ minutes is because of lessons and bounties which you have to choose. Only time it takes like 10+ minutes if it's raid week.

Blue Archive is the complete opposite, it will slowly roll out new options as you level up so you are never overwhelmed, it gives lots of free currency so you can hit pity on your must have girls and the gacha rolls are only girls, no weapons or any other bullshit. Your chances of hitting the girl you want are still very, very small mind you, but there's no risk of you rolling a super rare only to get a shitty weapon you didn't like, if you hit, you hit, which is good for my heart. Story is fricking garbage but I still have to finish chapter 2 and people say it get good on chapter 3 and I swear to fricking GOD it better get good.

Not entirely sure about its state now, but I played the game back in 2020 totally for free, exploring every inch of the map (available at the time) and doing all story quests (available at the time). I mostly played with Amber, had a blast
Which other game outside of AL is as generous with as GFL ? I tried BA but the gameplay itself was a bit of a snoozefest, same with Destiny Child, and AK just isn't appealing to me for whatever reason

My biggest complaint is that we went from a nice and varied roster that encouraged diverse teambuilding and experimenting to Genshin-lite, with very few playable characters being given the spotlight just so they can milk banners more and sell costumes
Everything that made me love GFL in the first place is gone in favour of yet another 3D shitfest with le ebin waifubait characters and no real sense of scale, just like everything else that's been coming out recently
The gameplay may be the only redeeming factor but there's no fricking way I'm dropping money on weapon banner shit

Did you consider the fact that fully rigged 3D models with fully voiced cutscenes is more expensive than 2 basic CGs with only like 10 lines per doll? And roster bloat is a huge problem in GF1, yeah you have 400+ dorks but a solid 2/3rds of them are basically fodder for any real difficult content. Can't speak for any of the others, but Punishing: Gray Raven is decent. The base rate to acquire characters is shit but the pity to guarantee is generous enough that you can get the new S-Rank character every release if you save up to the point where you're more or less just outright buying the character with your roll currency. Pity will also carry over to the next banner if you don't reach it in time. S-Ranks only release every two patches with a free A-rank character in between so I only ever have to interact with the gacha once every other month.
Kinda wish the devs would just make a normal character action game without the gacha attached to it.

The worse part is when you are required to be active in Blue Archive (Move/Cover) due towards how few units even have systems in play to work with such, and what little direct control you have to get units to do what you want (Put down a healthpack to make a unit move out of the way but UHOH a different unit farther away decided they wanted it instead so they go after it and the unit you wanted to move gets fricked up by the AoE). Nikkie's the same way where if auto doesn't carry you past shit, what little input you can give isn't going to make up the difference. Arknights at least works within the medium of being a phone based game asking for your input, even if I feel like it's take on 'auto' is shit all and barely works half the time and still requires you to just redo stages over far too much for resources (That and too much of a unit feels make or break based off of number of dupes lowering deployment costs)

This is actually around 5-7 minutes tops for sure since it has sweep. Only reason it takes 5+ minutes is because of lessons and bounties which you have to choose. Only time it takes like 10+ minutes if it's raid week.

Blue Archive is definitely the most beginner friendly gacha I played. Old gacha used to just throw you at the main screen with 10 billion options to confuse you and get you to waste your free rolls. Blue Archive is the complete opposite, it will slowly roll out new options as you level up so you are never overwhelmed, it gives lots of free currency so you can hit pity on your must have girls and the gacha rolls are only girls, no weapons or any other bullshit. Your chances of hitting the girl you want are still very, very small mind you, but there's no risk of you rolling a super rare only to get a shitty weapon you didn't like, if you hit, you hit, which is good for my heart. Story is fricking garbage but I still have to finish chapter 2 and people say it get good on chapter 3 and I swear to fricking GOD it better get good.

Not entirely sure about its state now, but I played the game back in 2020 totally for free, exploring every inch of the map (available at the time) and doing all story quests (available at the time). I mostly played with Amber, had a blast

Can't speak for any of the others, but Punishing: Gray Raven is decent. The base rate to acquire characters is shit but the pity to guarantee is generous enough that you can get the new S-Rank character every release if you save up to the point where you're more or less just outright buying the character with your roll currency. Pity will also carry over to the next banner if you don't reach it in time. S-Ranks only release every two patches with a free A-rank character in between so I only ever have to interact with the gacha once every other month.
Kinda wish the devs would just make a normal character action game without the gacha attached to it.

Funny thing, the "gambling aspect" is the least of my concerns. It's all the grinding and walls and the fact the gameplay is limited on purpose to force people towards the gatcha elements.
If they're just normal games with 100% optional gatcha for extra content, I'd be totally fine. Probably even pay money.
